A/N: Happy Halloween! I've always loved this holiday so as a treat I'd though I'd give nearly everyone of my books an update.

Baby on the way

I push the acceleration down as hard as I could, pushing the car to full power.

I find Ruby's familiar car parked on the side of the road with the door open.

Slamming in the breaks i unbuckle and leap from the car.

"Ashley!"

"Hallie?"

I hear panting coming from the bushes.

I quickly rush towards the noise, there laying on the ground grasping her stomach in pain is Ashley.

I rush to sit next to her.

"Ashley! What happened?"

I grasp her shoulders.

"My baby! It's coming!"

What?

Like right now?

Okay.

I'm not equipped for this.

Alright Hallie think.

I wrack my brain

"Ashley how far apart are the contractions."

"I don't know, but i think every few minutes."

That's not good.

To my utter relief a see a Emma's yellow bug driving up the road.

"Ashley just stay here, okay I'm gonna flag down some help."

Ashley nods at me.

I quickly run out into the road and start jumping and waving my arms.

To my relief the yellow bug pulls to a stop and two familiar people step out.

"Miss brown?"

"Hallie?"

"Emma , Henry you have to help! It's Ashley."

Emma and Henry quickly follow me to where Ashley is laid.

"Ashley what's wrong!" Emma asks and joins me next to Ashley.

"Her baby's coming."

Emma nods in acknowledgement.

"Common we have to get her to the hospital."

Ashley grabs my hand with tears in her eyes.

"Please no! You don't understand! If I go he'll take my baby!" Ashley is crying while holding onto me.

What is she talking about?

"Ashley, I promise you I won't let him take your baby." Emma tells Ashley with determination.

Clearly I'm missing out on something.

"Hallie help me get Ashley In my car."

Between the two of us Emma and I are able to get Ashley In the back seat of Emma's car, I jump in next to her while Emma and Henry get in the front.

Emma starts the car and speeds us down the road.

"Just hold on Ashley." I try to reassure the young mother while using my jacket to wipe the sweat of her head.

"Is the baby really coming?" Henry asked Emma.

Considering I can see the head, I'd say yes.

"Ohh yeah. Don't worry the hospital isn't that far." Emma try's to reassure henry.

"Emma, I don't think we're going to make it."

Ashley is all but having a breakdown.

"No! No, no, no. Take me to Boston. I can't go back there."

Ashley the baby is minuets from coming into the world.

Emma is in agreement

"Oh no, we don't have four hours. Trust me I know."

"I can't go back there. Please. He's going to take my baby."

"I won't let that happen. Do you know what you're asking for? If you keep this child, are you really ready?" Emma asked Ashley.

"Yeah."

"Are you sure? Because I wasn't."

"You weren't?"

"Nope. If you want to give this kid its best chance, it's going to be with someone who's ready, so know what that means. Your whole life is going to change and once you decide that it's yours, this 'running away' can't happen. You have to grow up and you can't ever leave. Understand?"

"Yes. I want my baby."

Well then you'll get your wish.

"Emma the baby's crowning!"

Emma is looking at me though the mirror.

"Are your sure yes the head is out."

Gearing myself I hold eye contact with Ashley.

"Ashley I need you to give me one big push okay, the head is out can you do that?"

Ashley you is holding eye contact nods.

With a deep breath Ashley pushes with everything she has.

"That it! Keep going!"

Finally a cries of an infant fills the car and the baby slides out and into my arms.

Using my jacket as a blanket I place the baby girl on Ashley's chest.

"Its a girl." Tears prick my eyes.

My heart swells at the sight before me, Ashley is crying and holding her daughter who has sarong pair of lungs.

Looking towards the front I catch eyes with Emma, she too is smiling.

Henry beams from the front seat.

It's was now that we finally pull into the hospital parking lot.

The next few minutes felt like a blur, Emma left me and Ashley to find help and was quick to return with a gaggle of nurses who helped Ashley into a wheelchair being careful of the umbilical cord still attached.

I go into the bathroom to freshen up and afterwards find Emma and Henry are sitting in the waiting room of the hospital.

I go to join them before I could though I'm stopped by a voice.

"We'll miss brown it seems I don't when to call you after all."

I came face to face with Mr gold.

"Wh…What are you doing Here?"

"I'm here to collect what I'm owed, follow me."

The two of us approach Emma and Henry who was speaking to the doctor.

"What lovely news. Excellent work, Miss Swan. Thank you for bringing me my merchandise."

"A baby? That's your merchandise? Why didn't you tell me?"

A baby!

Wait Ashley's baby!

Why would Mr gold want Ashley's baby and better yet why and I still standing at Mr golds side!

"Well because, at the time, you didn't need to know."

Emma raises an unamused brown

"Really? Or you thought I wouldn't take the job?"

"On the contrary, I thought it would be more effective if you found out yourself. After seeing Ashley's hard life, I thought it would make sense. Do you? I mean, if anyone could understand the reasons behind giving up a baby, I assumed it would be you."

What have I gotten myself into.

"You're not getting that kid."

"Actually, we have an agreement. My agreements are always honoured. If not, I'm going to have to involve the police and that baby is going to end up in the system. And that would be a pity. You didn't enjoy your time in the system, did you, Emma?"

I want to leave, yet I stay put.

"It's not going to happen."

"I like your confidence. Charming. But all I have to do is press charges. She did, after all, break into my shop."

"Let me guess to steal a contract?"

"Who knows what she was after?"

"You know no jury in the world will put a woman in jail, whose only reason for breaking and entering was to keep her child. I'm willing to roll the dice that contract doesn't stand up. Are you? Not to mention what might come out about you in the process. Somehow, I suspect, there is more to you than a simple pawn broker. You really want to start that fight?"

Go Emma!

"I like you, Miss Swan. You're not afraid of me, and that's either cocky or presumptuous. Either way, I'd rather have you on my side." Mr gold is smart.

"so, she can keep the baby?"

"Not just yet. There's still the matter of my agreement with Miss Boyd."

"Tear it up."

"That's not what I do. You see, contracts deals well, they're the very foundation of all civilized existence. So, I put it to you now. If you want Ashley to have that baby, are you willing to make a deal with me?"

A deal?

"What do you want?"

"Oh, I don't know just yet. You'll owe me a favour."

Emma was quick to answer

"Deal."

What!

Emma just like that!

You don't know what he could make you do, somehow I doubt he will have you rake his lawn.

Mr gold walks back to the entrance calling over his shoulder.

"Hallie come with me."

"But I wanted to see Ashley and the b-"

"Now."

Wordlessly I follow Mr gold.

I pay no attention to the voices of Henry and Emma calling from behind
