I was walking around the next afternoon when I found a balcony that overlooked Asgard. The plants were beautiful and the view was amazing. I was standing out there as I watched people come and go. I had gone on a tour of the palace with Thor this morning, and I had met more people. Loki would avoid us anytime we came around, and I couldn't blame him. I hadn't been nice to him, but I didn't have time to talk to him. Everyone wanted to talk to me about Asgard. I was beginning to realize that these were very proud people. I sighed as I put my hands on the railing and looked over.
"It's beautiful out here isn't it?" a voice said and I turned to see a woman that looked like a warrior walking out to me. She was beautiful and slightly intimidating.
"It is." I admitted and looked back out to see the mountains.
"I'm Lady Sif. I'm one of Thor's friends. He was telling us about the new ambassador and I wanted to meet you. I also know how it feels to have to be around them all day." she said and I chuckled. Thor had shown me the rest of the palace today... and he was nice, good to look at, but sometimes he wasn't the smartest.
"I'm Parker... and it's nice to meet you." I said and she chuckled.
"Would you like to come with me? I'm going to train?" she asked me and I looked at her surprised.
"I'm not really dressed for that?" I asked her and she chuckled.
"Come on, then... I think it would be fun if you came along." she said and I nodded. She gave me pants to change into and a leather vest top thing that I would never wear on a normal day. I put on boots and she nodded when I finished changing.
"You look better." she said and I smirked as we went down many different levels to a place that I didn't know existed in the palace. Thor didn't show me this area, and this isn't the training area we had been yesterday. We walked into a large area that had every kind of weapon imaginable. I realized this was where they made the weapons they also trained with here. I was looking around when a larger man walked up to me.
"You are the ambassador." he said and I nodded.
"Ah good! Thor has said much about you. We are his friends! I am Volstagg, and this is Hogun and Fandral. We all made up the warriors three and Lady Sif." he said as he motioned to two men behind him. I smiled and gave a small wave.
"It's nice to meet you all. I'm Parker... you all came to Earth as well when it was attacked." I said and they smiled at me.
"Yes, we were there with Thor." he said and I smiled at them. I could tell they were proud that someone remembered them.
"Thor showed her around and I thought she might enjoy something different." Sif said and I nodded.
"Do you fight, Lady Parker?" Volstagg asked me and I chuckled at him putting Lady in front of my name.
"I do, and please... it's just Parker." I said and Fandral chuckled at us.
"Do you use weapons?" Hogun asked me in slightly broken English and I nodded.
"I grew up on a farm and I learned to shoot very well." I said and they nodded as Fandral walked over to a wall of weapons. He got a bow off the wall. He handed it to me with an arrow, and I took a deep breath. My Dad had shown me how to shoot one of these a long time ago. I smiled at him as he pointed at the target on the opposite wall. I took my stance, placed my arrow, and steadied myself. I took a breath and let it fly... I was surprised that I hit the target as they cheered for me.
"Oh joy, she can shoot a bow." a voice said and we turned to see Loki walking in to the armory. I noticed that they didn't care for Loki as he made a dagger appear. He flicked it at the target and it stuck. He walked up to me and stuck one out at me.
"Give it a try." he said and I looked down at it. I spotted an axe, and walked over to it. I grabbed it and flung it at the target... it stuck at the bullseye. They all cheered as I looked at Loki. I saw his eyes widen momentarily before his expression goes back to remaining neutral. He looked me up and down before pursing his lips.
"Lucky shot." he said and I got ready to say something back when Thor walked up to us. He clapped me on the shoulder and I smiled at him.
"You can throw an axe!" he said and I chuckled as Loki stepped away from him. I knew that Loki had been punished somehow when he had attacked Earth, but I wasn't sure what happened... or if there was bad feelings between them. Thor seemed to forgive Loki, but Loki didn't seem to forgive so easily.
"Yes, It's a popular thing on Earth. It's a sport." I said and they all looked at me strange. I realized they probably didn't understand why that would be a good thing.
"People do it and compete to see who is best." I said and they all seemed to understand that. Thor was talking about something as I felt someone watching me. I turned to see Loki looking at me before he walked back the way we came in.
"Lady Parker, will you join us tonight?" Fandral asked me and I realized that I had no idea what they were talking about because I had been focused on Loki. I also knew that whatever it was I probably would want to see so I nodded.
"Yes, I will." I said and they cheered as Sif smiled at me. I wasn't sure if I had just agreed to something good or bad, but we started to walk back upstairs so I would be finding out soon. I was instructed to go change for dinner, and Sif was going to come get me. I put on a golden and light purple dress. I pulled my hair out of a bun and let my reddish-brown hair fall around my shoulders as I tucked some behind my ears.I put on the boots that Sif had given me, pulled a wrap around me, and thought hopefully this was what I was supposed to wear. I had worn something similar to dinner last night. I was in thought when someone knocked on the door.
"Are you ready, Parker?" Sif asked as she came in the door.
"I believe so... does this look alright?" I asked her and I was still nervous about my impression towards them. I didn't want to be the first ambassador and fuck it up somehow.
"You look very nice." she said and I smiled at her.
"So do you." I said and she smiled at me as I saw she was wearing a gold plated dress and looked amazing.
"Thank you, and we will have fun tonight." she said and I nodded as we walked towards another part of the palace. We walked up to a large set of doors, and two guards pushed them open. I felt my mouth fall open at the sight before me. I saw a party in full swing. Food was everywhere, people were drinking something, dancing, and everyone was having a good time. I looked at Sif as she pulled me with her. We were immediately pulled over to where Thor, Volstagg, Hogun, ad Fandral were enjoying themselves.
"Lady Parker!" Fandral said as he pulled me to sit with him and Thor pulled Sif to his with him. Hogun toasted with me as they handed me a goblet of sweet smelling liquid. I tried it and it tasted amazing as a warmth spread through you that rivaled whiskey or moonshine. They were handing me food, and we were having fun. I kept looking around, and was surprised when Fandral pulled me with him to dance. I was laughing as they all joined us. They didn't dance like we did, but more as a group. I was having fun, and my goblet never emptied. The party went on and it got more raunchy as the drinks kept coming. I looked over to see Thor pulling Lady Sif through a doorway, Volstagg was making out with some woman, Hogun was drinking with someone, and Fandral was hanging on me. I sat him down in a chair, and he pulled me into his lap. The drink had made my head swim by now, and I felt very tired.
"I will go get us more drink." I said as Fandral's lips found my neck and he chuckled. He nodded and helped me off his lap. I had been to some wild parties, but I wasn't sure if this was about to turn into an orgy or not... I could see it heading that way. I also didn't want to do anything to make them think less of me. I slowly made my way to where I saw the doors, and I finally got out of them after a few men wanted me to join them. I walked out and leaned heavy on the door as I closed my eyes for a second.
"Too much for you?" a voice asked me and I didn't have to open my eyes to know who it was.
"I don't feel up to dealing with you right now, Loki." I mumbled and he chuckled. I opened my eyes and he was right in front of me.
"No one deals with me." he said as he stepped up to me and I nodded as my body felt heavy.
"What ever douchebag." I said as I saw annoyance flash across his face. I went to take a step, but sagged against the door. I had drank way too much of whatever that had been.
"Can't handle us?" he asked and I chuckled, because I knew that I couldn't right now.
"Your brother has some strong drink." I mumbled as I saw his face turn to worry... but I didn't have time to find out why as the world started to darken before it went black.
