"I was looking forward to your visit." Heimdall said as I walked up to him on the end of the Bifrost. I chuckled as he smiled at me. I wanted to talk to him about so many things, but looking out over the universe I forgot most of them. I was amazed at the sight before me.
"Yes, well, I wasn't sure when it was a good time to come visit." I admitted and he chuckled.
"I see everything, and now is a good time." he said and I smiled at him as I looked out over into the abyss. I couldn't believe that was space. We could see if from Earth, but even on a nice night it was never this beautiful.
"Are you enjoying your time here?" he asked me and I nodded almost without thinking about the motion. I had been in Asgard for a month now, and it was going well. I had become closer to Sif, and she was talking to Thor more. Fandral was still trying to get me to pay attention to him past a nice politeness, and then there was Loki... I saw glimmers of a gentleman masked by an asshole.
"They all like having you around. You have become friends to all of them." he said and I smirked as I shook my head.
"I don't know about that." I said and he chuckled.
"Even the misguided prince likes having you around, but getting him to tell you that is another thing entirely." he said and I looked at him surprised. He chuckled as he looked back over the universe.
"Oh, that's right, you can see everything." I said and he nodded. I stood there and talked to Heimdall about what he did, Asgard, Earth, and the Universe. He was nice to talk to, and we were chatting when I heard horses coming up behind us. I turned to see Loki riding up to us. I was surprised to see him alone.
"You could have warned me." I said and he chuckled as he turned towards Loki.
"You are here for Parker?" Heimdall asked him as Loki stopped next to us. He chuckled and nodded... of course Heimdall knew why he was here.
"We are starting the feast, and her presences has been requested." he said and I nodded.
"Thank you, Heimdall." I said and he smiled at me.
"Enjoy the ride to the festival. I will see you again." he said and I chuckled as I turned back towards Loki. He held his hand out to me, and I took it as he easily lifted me onto the horse. I wrapped my arms around his torso and we started to trot off. I knew that Thor was solid muscle from looking at him, but so was Loki as I tried not to hang on too tight.
"Did you enjoy talking to Heimdall?" he asked me and I nodded as I was looking around at the sky.
"Yes, and the view is beautiful." I said and I felt Loki's chest rumble as he chuckled.
"I thought the feast didn't start for a little while." I said as he entered the gates of town.
"They don't, but I have to get you to the feast... that's the longest part." he said as we rode down to the water. He got off and helped me off as we walked to a boat. He helped me board the boat and we sped across the water.
"Glad to see you could actually be present this time." I said and he chuckled.
"It comes in handy when I need to be many places at once." he said with a shrug and I looked around.
"Why do you like the water so much?" he asked me as we glided over it towards cliffs in the distance.
"It reminds me of where I grew up. My father had a boat, and we used to go out every weekend. I can't imagine what it must have been like to grow up here... as a prince." I said and he nodded.
"It could be lonely." he finally said and I looked at him surprised.
"Thor and I are close, but we are different people entirely. We both wanted different things." he said and I nodded. They were two very different people. Thor was a people person who loved everyone... and Loki was a puzzle.
"It's ok to be different. I was. I didn't have many friends, but I always knew who I was and what I wanted." I said and he looked at me surprised. I got ready to say something when a large pavilion came into view and I was surprised at the amount of people that were there.
"I don't usually go to festivals or anything this big unless I really like the band." I said and he chuckled.
"Music, right?" he asked me and I nodded as we got closer. I saw a few people waiting for us.
"I hope I'm dressed correctly." I mumbled and Loki chuckled.
"You look nice." he said and I was surprised to hear that before he turned his attention back to the boat. I was surprised by the amount of people... I didn't realize this many people were in Asgard.
"Father likes to celebrate our harvest." he said and I nodded as he were greeted by Fandral and Sif. Loki helped me off the boat before Fandral could, and I was grateful for that.
"We thought you got lost." Sif said.
"Or Loki kidnapped you." Fandral added and I smirked as Loki shut down. I had realized that he put on a brave face or faded away leaving his image there to go through the motions.
"Actually, Loki was a great tour guide." I said and smiled at Loki as they both looked surprised at me.
"Lady Parker! Brother! Come on before Volstagg eats everything." Thor said as he waved us over to a group of people. We started over there when I reached out to touch Loki's shoulder. He looked at me surprised.
"Just seeing if you were still here." I said and he chuckled.
"I can't abandon you in the middle of our tour." he said and I smiled as we walked towards everyone. Loki acted happy around Thor, and his family. Odin gave a speech, they toasted, and then people really started celebrating. I had to admit that most people here are very happy people, and they all seemed to get along.
"Have you had your fill?" Loki asked me as he walked up to me once I was done dancing with Volstagg.
"Yes, quite." I said and turned to say something else to him when Odin walked up to us.
"Ah, my son and Lady Parker! Are you enjoying the feast?" he asked us.
"Yes, father, it's magnificent!" Loki said and I smiled.
"It's amazing." I said and he smiled as someone brought him a goblet and he motioned for him to hand us one each. I took it and we toasted as I drank more wine. Loki chuckled as he watched me and I smiled at Odin.
"You should dance!" he said as Frigga walked up to us.
"Leave them be! They are celebrating with us... I am just glad that my son saw fit to actually stay." she said and smirked at Loki. She must understand how much he uses his abilities to get out of things. I smirked into my goblet as he chuckled.
"I promised Lady Parker that I would accompany her to this so that she didn't feel alone." he said and I smiled at him.
"Yes, he's been most helpful explaining things, and making sure I am alright." I said and I was a small glimmer of surprise wash over their faces.
"Loki, you're still here! I'm so glad, brother. We are about to wrestle." he said to Loki who immediately shook his head.
"No, brother, you all go ahead. I am here with Lady Parker and will not be participating." he said and Thor chuckled as he shook his head.
"Go on, son, I will explain the next part of the festival to Parker." Odin said and Loki pursed his lips, but nodded.
"Good luck." i said and Odin offered me his arm before he and Frigga lead me to where they were sitting on the platform.
I watched as the warriors of Asgard wrestled in a competition to see who was the strongest. I was surprised when Volstagg got eliminated by Loki, but I had seen Volstagg drinking all night so I guess it didn't surprise me. Sif even gave it a go, but she was against a massive man. She had him until he threw her out of the ring. Fandral was there to give her more wine as she chucked about it. Odin was having fun, and I was thankful for Frigga.
"My sons, you two will now fight for the honor to see who is the best champion this year!" Odin said when it came down to Thor and Loki. I watched they both shed extra armor, and realized how in shape they were at that moment. Thor was muscular, and bulky; but Loki was lean and defined.
"What does the winner get?" Thor asked as Frigga explained that each year the champion got something different from the year before.
"The winner this year gets a feast in their honor, and a kiss from Lady Parker." he said as he looked at me. I had been taking a sip from the goblet and almost choked on it. They were chuckled at me as I nodded at him... what the fuck? I looked back at Loki and Thor and locked eyes with Loki for a second before he turned to face Thor. Sif, Fandral, and Hogun were sitting near by me and I looked at Sif with some surprise. She laughed at me as she turned back to the match.
They fought for a long time, but finally Thoe was taken down by Loki in a submission hold. Thor got up and held Loki's hand in victory as people cheered him. I saw Sif, Fandral, and Hogun look less than thrilled, but it was obvious they were closer to Thor than Loki. Odin and Frigga were cheering as they stood up.
"I am always happy to have one my sons as the victor! You will have a great feast in the next cycle." Odin said as Loki bowed before him.
"I proclaim this feast and year a success! To Asgard and it's champion, Loki!" he said as Loki stood back up to cheers.
"And for your victory you get a kiss from our welcomed ambassador from Midgard... Lady Parker." he said and I walked over to Loki. I stood on my tiptoes and kissed his cheek before raising his hand. People cheered as I smiled at him.
I was sitting wit Sif, Fandral, and Hogun as Thor and Loki walked over as the feast was wrapping up. Sif could tell that Fandral was annoying me so she gladly sat between us.
"Thank you." I said to Sif and she smiled at me as Thor pulled her to him.
"Can we train tomorrow?" she asked me and I nodded. I had come to learn that when she meant train it meant that we might train, but she just wanted to hang out with another woman. I understood that after seeing some people look down on her as we rode through town because she was a female warrior, but not a valkyrie.
"Lady Parker, can I talk you back?" Fandral asked me and I got ready to answer, but Loki stepped in.
"I had already promised to take her back." he said and I smiled at Fandral. I told Fandral that I would see him tomorrow, and everyone else goodbye.
"Thank you." I said and he chuckled as we walked back to the boat. We rode back in comfortable silence and he walked me to the door I was staying in at the palace.
"You did good tonight, and almost looked like you enjoyed yourself." I said and he gave a small chuckle.
"I am a trickster god for a reason." he said and I smirked.
"You mean to tell me that you were acting?" I asked him and he chuckled.
"I do know what the means, and yes... I might have been." he admitted and I smirked. I wasn't sure why, but he looked very handsome... it had to be the wine.
"I did enjoy one part though." he said and I looked at him with some confusion.
"I know it wasn't the dancing." I said with a smirk.
"No, I enjoyed becoming the champion... because it meant I got a kiss from you." he said as he dropped his voice a little, and I looked at him with complete surprise.
"Oh... Um..." I was saying when I saw his face fall.
"Forgive me, Lady Parker. Good night." he said and disappeared. I leaned by head on the door behind me and shook my head.
""Fuck." I mumbled... knowing full well that I had messed that up. He had taken it wrong, and I had the worst reaction I could have possibly had.
"I enjoyed it too." I finally said to an empty hallway and finally went into my room. I fell asleep replaying that conversation over and over... I had really fucked up.
