Thank you for the reviews! You all are amazing!
I was still bandaged up as I felt Helga's. She had treating me daily since my fall last week, and she had been extremely happy when she saw my necklace the morning after the feast. I looked around and realized that for once I didn't have anyone with me, and I knew where I wanted to go. I pulled my cloak around me as it was a bit windier than I expected and walked towards the bridge. I hadn't seen Heimdal since out last visit, and I did like talking to him.
"I was wondering when you would visit again." he said as I walked up and I chuckled.
"You were not." I said and he chuckled as he smiled at me.
"What did you come to ask me?" he asked me and I was surprised at first and he chuckled. He knew why I wanted to come to see him.
"I wanted to know if you knew what caused those noises." I admitted to him and he nodded.
"I do... the frost giants are restless on their side of the mountain and looking for a fight. I have told Odin as much." he said and I nodded.
"You don't have anything to fear. They aren't going to come over here." he said and I smiled because the way he said it gave me comfort.
"Thank you, Heimdal." I said and he nodded.
"And don't worry... Loki won't hurt you." he said and I looked at him surprised as he looked back over the universe.
"You really can see the future?" I asked him and he smiled.
"As much as to say that when the Queen ask you to go with you that you should say yes." he said and I got ready to ask him what he meant when someone came riding up to us. I saw that it was a guard and he stopped beside me.
"Lady Parker, the Queen would like you to come to her." he said and I nodded.
"Bye Heimdal." I said and he smiled at me before the guard helped me on behind him and I rode back into the palace. I was taken to the throne room where the Queen was sitting on the balcony next to it. I was surprised at how empty the throne room was, but I was happy to sit outside. The view of the waterfalls were better here.
"Lady Parker, join me." she said as I curtsied to her and she smiled at me. I walked over and sat down next to her as we looked out over it.
"How is your arm?" she asked me as she looked at me. I wasn't sure why I was nervous all of a sudden around her, but I was... I wonder if Loki had said anything. We had agreed not to really say anything since we both knew that I wasn't supposed to get attached to anyone here. They had set out rules as the ambassador, and dating a prince of another realm wasn't exactly a thing you were supposed to do.
"It's better, thank you." I said and she smiled at me.
"Don't be nervous around me, dear. I am glad that you are here, and that one of my sons likes you." she said and I looked at her surprised.
"Don't worry, Loki didn't say anything, but I can tell from the way he looks at you, and that he has never given anyone his symbol since her." she said and I nodded, but now I wanted to know who her was... but that sounded like a jealous girlfriend... was I even his girlfriend? I thought as she smiled at me.
"He's been very nice to me." I finally said and she chuckled.
"Parker, I wanted to spend time with you because I wanted to understand Midgard. You have everyone here happy to have you, and you seem so different from the people we have learned about from there." she said and I smiled at her. I guess that's why they chose me to come first.
"What would you like to know?" I asked her.
"Well, since we are the only one's in the palace as the rest of them rode to Jotunheim today... I would like you to go with me to Midgard." she said and I looked at her surprised.
"You want to go to Earth?" I asked her and she nodded.
"I would like you to show it to me." she said and I nodded.
"Heimdal will send us." she said and I nodded as if she knew that I was going to ask how we were planning on getting there. She stood up and I quickly stood up with her. I had a feeling that she wasn't going to change her mind as we walked from the throne room to the bridge. Heimdal took some convincing, but agreed that he would send us, watch us, and bring us back either when we asked or at the first sign of trouble. I felt the strange energy and I was surprised to see Griffith Observatory in front of me. Heimdal had dropped us right into Los Angeles.
"Where is this?" she asked me as I realized that we were in our dresses, and even if it is LA we weren't extras in a movie. We were going to get looks.
"Griffith Observatory in LA, but we need to change so we don't stand out. We also have to find money to get around." I said as I started to look for a cab to call, and then realized I didn't have any money. Heimdal had dropped us so far away from the actual city. I was going to have to figure this out. I was figuring stuff out when I looked down to realize that my clothes were more like what I wore here on Earth. My dress was gone and replaced with jeans, a soft t-shirt, and sandals. I had a bag on me with money, and I looked over to see Frigga in black pants, a nice 3/4 sleeve blouse, and sandals.
"Thank you." I said and she smiled at me. She must have known what I needed or heard Thor talk about it.
"Now, show me around." she said and I nodded. We went all over LA. I showed her Hollywood Blvd, rode the subways, and finally ended up in Santa Monica on the pier. She tried new foods, and loved the beach. We were walking around a night when she grabbed me all of a sudden, and the energy came around me. I blinked and we were back standing next to Heimdal. I looked around to see Odin, Thor, and Loki standing there as well.
"My dear, we were worried about you." Odin said as he hugged her and I met Loki's eyes. He looked at my outfit and raised an eyebrow. I gave a small shrug as Thor pulled me to him.
"Ah, Lady Parker, you look normal." Thor said as he pulled me in for a hug and I laughed. I forgot he has seen people in these kinds of outfits as he had been on Earth. I was sure they had all seen about Midgards, but Thor had first hand experience.
"I suppose I do." I said as Loki hugged me as well.
"I was worried about you." he whispered and I smiled at him as I pulled away.
"Let us eat and tell us about your adventures." Odin said as we all walked back. I was in between Loki and Thor as Thor asked lots of questions about where we went. He couldn't wait to hear what was going on. We sat and ate as Sif, Hogun, Volstagg, and Fandral joined us. Frigga was telling them all about LA, and the food she had tried. I was glad that she had fun. Odin and Frigga went to bed not long after we finished, and I was sitting there with everyone.
"I like your pants. What are they?" Sif asked me as she felt the jeans on my leg.
"Jeans, and I have missed wearing them." I said as they chuckled at me.
"They are quite comfortable." Thor agreed and I laughed at him.
"What made you want to take her to your home?" Fandral asked me and I chuckled.
"She asked me if I would show her around, and I didn't mind." I said and they all looked surprised.
"I guess that with the ambassadors coming we needed to see how Migardians do things." Volstagg said and I nodded.
"How did you carry your weapons?" Hogun asked.
"We don't carry weapons, or not all of us." I said and they all looked at me strange.
"How do you protect yourself?" Fadral asked me and I shrugged.
"As best we can, but we mostly just think that people are good." I said as they looked even more surprised. They continued to ask me questions until I was tired and I excused myself.
"I will walk you to your room." Loki said as everyone said good night. We were walking to my door as he threaded our fingers together, and pulled me off a side balcony. He pulled me to him and placed a tender kiss to my lips.
"I was worried about you when we got back and Heimdal said you had gone to Midgard." he said and I looked up at him surprised.
"Did you think I had just left?" I asked him and he shook his head.
"I wasn't sure until he said mother had gone with you, and then I worried because you didn't take an guards with you." he said and I nodded.
"I'm sorry, it was your mother's idea... and she knows about us." I said and he looked surprised as his eyes shifted down to the necklace.
"She saw the necklace." I confirmed his unsaid thoughts and he nodded.
"I haven't given my symbol to anyone except Sigyn... she was my wife until she died." he said and I was surprised to hear that.
"I'm sorry... I didn't know you were married." I said and he looked back at me. I got ready to say something when he kissed me. He pulled me close as his hands slipped down to my waist and I gripped his shoulders.
"I have grown to like your outfit." he said and I chuckled as he pulled away from me.
"I miss it. I brought some with me, but I didn't want to offend anyone." I said and he chuckled as he took my hand and walked us back towards my room.
"Wear them tomorrow when we go riding." he said and I looked at him surprised.
"We are going to riding?" I asked him and he chuckled.
"I know you will say yes, and yes, we are. I will find you in the morning." he said and I smiled at him. He kissed me once more before slipping off and I fell asleep that night with a smile on my face, but many questions floating around my head.
