Thank you for the reviews!
I woke up the next morning got ready, and walked out to go down to the training room. I knew that Loki went there in the mornings so I was going to go down to find him. I walked in and saw him training with Thor. He and Thor were shirtless and I fully understood why Jane was now really attracted to Thor, but Loki was just as defined. Sif and Volstagg were standing there watching them as I walked up, and Sif smiled at me.
"I want some of those." she said and I chuckled.
"I have an extra pair you can try." I said and she looked excited as they finished up with Thor submitting to Loki. I could tell that Loki was more of a swordsman than Thor, but Thor was more likely to win in a bar fight. They walked over as Loki smiled at me.
"Lady Parker, have you come to train?" he asked me and I chuckled.
"I don't think it's my thing." I said as Loki pulled a dagger out of thin air and handed it to me. I took it and raised an eyebrow.
"Try it." he said and pointed to the target. I did my best, and flung it. I was more excited that it landed in the target than anything and they cheered for me. Loki pulled another dagger out and threw it... and it landed on the bullseye. He smirked at me and I rolled my eyes as Thor yelled 'Show off'. Loki pulled another dagger out and handed it to me, before moving behind me. He stood right behind me, and carefully leaned against me as he chuckled in my ear. He took my hand in his and helped me to hold the dagger.
"Relax." he said and then helped me throw it. I was so excited when it landed right beside the next one. I cheered and hugged Loki as everyone else cheered with us.
"Nicely done! You will be a warrior one day." Thor said and I chuckled as I looked at Loki with a smile.
"Good you are all here." Odin said as he walked in with Fandral and Frigga. We all turned to face him and he looked very serious right now.
"What is it?" Loki asked him.
"The Frost Giants are pushing more against the mountain. They didn't listen yesterday. We must go back." he said and we all looked at each other.
"I'm sorry, love." Loki said and I nodded.
"It's ok, just go take care of what you have to." I said and he nodded as he walked towards Odin and Thor.
"We will leave Fandral here with Heimdal in case anything happens." Odin said and we all nodded.
"Parker can join me at the meeting this morning in the center." Frigga said and I nodded.
We all figured out what we were doing, and I went to change into a dress to be presentable for the meeting. I walked out of my room to see Fandral waiting for me.
"Lady Parker, you look lovely today." he said and I smiled at him.
"Thank you. Are you sad that you had to stay back today?" I asked him and he shook his head no.
"Not at all. I understand that sometimes being a good warrior means not rushing head first into things." he said and I looked at him surprised.
"That's incredibly smart and profound." I said and he chuckled.
"It's not always about glory." he said as we walked towards the throne room and I nodded. I had spent a lot of time trying to get away from Fandral that I hadn't really talk to him... and now i felt bad.
"I'm sorry that I haven't gotten to talk to you much." I said and he smiled at me.
"I understand... the princes captivate everyone." he said and I felt a blush creep up as I chuckled.
We joined Frigga and went to the center of the city. They had gathered to get an update, and talk about upcoming things for Asgard. Frigga spoke and I understood right then why she was a good queen. She carried about everyone, and held nothing back. The people went back to their lives when she got done and Frigga was going to have a meal with some ladies that had invited her.
"Would you like to see another part of Asgard?" Fandral asked me as we walked through the streets and I nodded.
We walked down some stone steps, and through a large gate that led us into a cave. I gasped at the sight in front of me... I was looking at a beautiful garden that was lit up by small twinkling lights that seem to float out of no where. The gardens had a grotto and small waterfall.
"This is beautiful." I said and he smiled at me.
"Odin has this built for Frigga a long time ago, and opened it to the people as a show of his love to her and to Asgard." he said and I looked around in wonder. I had read Norse mythology and the Odin in mythology was an asshole... so this was surprising. He offered me his arm and I took it as I lifted the hymn of my dress so we could walk around the gardens. The plants were beautiful, the water was so clear, and the little lights seemed to move with us.
"Thank you, this place is beautiful." I said and he smiled at me.
"Lady Parker, may I give you a word of advice?" he asked me and I stopped to face him. I had no idea what he could want to tell me.
"I know that you and Loki are... something, but please listen to me when I say that he doesn't truly care about anyone but himself. I don't want to see you get hurt." he said and I nodded.
"Thank you for your honesty." I said and he nodded.
"You are something very different from anyone else here, and I would hate for your time here to be tainted by someone who is destined to be alone all his life." he said and my eyes grew wide at that comment.
"I think I'm ready to go back." I said and he nodded as he realized that I didn't care for that last comment.
"I apologize." he said and I nodded as we walked back through the streets in quiet. We got the throne room and I pulled away from him.
"Thank you for showing me that, Fandral." I said and he nodded.
"Forgive me for overstepping myself earlier, but I enjoyed our time earlier." he said and I gave a small smile.
"All is forgiven." I said and he nodded before walking away. I found my way to the library, and sat in front of the fire since it was colder today. I couldn't help but think about Fandral's words about Loki... could that be true? I had heard what they had all said about Loki. He was loved by his brother, and accepted somewhat by his friends; but rumors of him being cruel to people persisted. I had heard them from Thor when he was drinking, and Sif had said a few things.
"There you are." a voice said that pulled me from my thoughts and I looked up to see Sif standing there.
"How was the battle?" I asked her and she chuckled as she sat down.
"Odin had to remind them of a few things, but they won't bother us again." she said and I nodded as Thor found us. He looked a little worse for the ware and he smiled at me.
"Lady Parker, did you enjoy this morning?" he asked me and I nodded.
"Yes, thank you, and you seem to have done well." I said and he smiled at me.
"You will join us for the feast?" he asked me and I nodded.
"I will." I said and he smiled at Sif before leaving the room.
"Will you help me?" she asked me and I nodded as she stood up. We walked to her room and I kept looking for Loki.
"He's recovering." she said as if to know what I was thinking.
"Oh?" I asked her.
"Yes, but he will be at the feast tonight." she said and I nodded.
I spent the rest of the afternoon with Sif. She bathed, changed, and wrapped up a small wound on her arm. We were heading to the feast when we met up with Fandral, Volstagg, and Hogun. We were about in the hall when Fandral pulled me to the side, and I motioned for them to go on as I looked at Fandral with confusion.
"I feel that I should apologize for earlier, Parker. I am sorry. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." he said and I gave a small smile.
"It's alright, Fandral. I would rather you tell the truth." I said and he gave a small smile.
"One word of advice for tonight... the wine will be strong." he said and I chuckled as I knew that meant not to drink anything.
"There you are... I was worried when I didn't see you." Loki said as he looked at Fandral.
"I was just thanking Fandral for keeping me company today." I said as Loki gave him a look and he finally nodded. Fandral gave me one more look and walked away as I looked at Loki.
"Are you alright?" he asked me and I nodded.
"I am, are you? You were the one in battle." I said as he ran his finger over my arm, and he was very cold. I jumped at it and put his hand between mine.
"You are cold." I said and he chuckled.
"It doesn't affect us like it does little mortals." he said and I raised an eyebrow at that. I got ready to say something when Thor came up with another goblet.
"Brother, you left your goblet... enjoy!" he said as he handed it to Loki and smiled at me.
"Parker! You miss it today. We got so many of them." Thor said and I nodded as I dodged some liquid that had sloshed out of his goblet.
"Mortals aren't used to war like we are, brother." Loki said and I nodded. I wasn't a fan of how he was throwing around the word mortal like it was an insult. I walked around them and left them to praise each other like drunk idiots, and found Sif. She handed me a goblet as Fandral's eyes caught mine. He raised his glass to me, so I took the one from Sif and toasted back. I sat there and watched as Thor and Loki enjoy themselves too much.
I finally got tired of watching the debauchery and celebration. I'm pretty sure that everyone except Frigga and I were drunk... and that's because Frigga had left a little bit ago. I'm sure that she was tired of watching the scene as well, but she was far more used to it than I was. I also didn't want to hear any more about Valhalla or Frost Giants. I told them good night, and walked back through the halls. I was almost back to my room when I felt cold hands grab me and pull me down a corridor. I turned expecting to see Loki, but instead I was looking at this large blue thing, and all I could do was scream.
