Just a friendly reminder that others can see your reviews... and while they may be sent with good intentions some people don't always take them that way. Thank you for the support and Pms about this, but i know that I'm not the best writer. I truly do appreciate everyone's reviews and suggestions on the story, but please don't attack one another because someone didn't seem nice to you... now onto the story.
I walked out and headed towards the training room... I figured that Loki would find me. I wasn't sure what he wanted to do today. I found Sif and Volstagg in the training room, and they immediately waved me over. I was surprised that Volstagg was up and moving around after how much I saw him drink last night.
"Good morning." Volstagg said and I smiled at him.
"Did you have fun last night?" Sif asked me as I spotted a hickey on her neck.
"Apparently not as much fun as you." I said as Volstagg started howling with laughter and she turned bright red. I instantly felt bad... that was a dick comment to make.
"I'm sorry... I shouldn't have pointed it out." I said when I saw how embarrassed she was and I felt bad.
"Don't worry about it. I told Thor not to, but you know men can be." she said and I nodded. I knew that they didn't listen, but that was about the extent of my knowledge, so I decided to change the subject.
"What are you all doing today?" I asked them as Thor walked in and greeted us.
"We have visitors from the Dark Elves coming tonight." Thor said and I nodded even though I have no idea who he might be talking about.
"They are here today?" Volstagg asked and looked a little shaken as Thor chuckled.
"I don't think she came with them, but you are welcome to do extra patrols." Thor said and Volstagg walked out without another word. I looked back at Sif and Thor with a raised eyebrow as they chuckled.
"They are another realm within Asgard. We are allies, and they are coming to visit. Volstagg had a bit too much wine the last time we had a feast with them, and made an idiot of himself." Thor clarified for me, and I nodded as I chuckled. Volstagg did like his wine.
"Good morning, brother." Thor said as Loki walked in and stood next to me. I gave him a small smile which he returned with a small wink.
"What are we doing?" he asked us.
"Well, you just missed Volstagg. He ran off when he heard that the ambassador from the Dark Elves was coming tonight." Thor said and I noticed Loki stiffen at this news. He didn't seem happy about them coming.
"Wonderful, I promised Parker a day, so we will be back later." he said and offered me his arm. I took it and waved bye to them. We were walking out of the room when Odin and Frigga were coming in, and stopped us. Loki seemed annoyed at this as his father turned to me.
"Ah Parker, I was about to send someone for you. I wanted you to be around today since we are welcoming a group from another realm." Odin said and I nodded and noticed Loki's jaw clinched. I was looking forward to spending the day with Loki, but this was why I was here. I couldn't really say no.
"Father, I had promised to show Parker..." Loki was saying when Odin cut him off.
"Loki, she came here to be an ambassador not be your arm candy." Odin snapped at him and I was surprised at that. I remembered what the Frost Giant told me before I was rescued, but I had never seen it for myself. I also now wondered if everyone thought I was just Loki's arm candy.
"Remember, Loki, you will have to do your part tonight as well." he said before turning his attention back to me.
"Parker, would join me and Frigga please? Loki, Thor, and Sif make sure that things are being set up." he said and we all nodded. He dismissed them and Frigga motioned for me to follow them. I slipped my arm out of Loki's and stepped towards them as we started to walk away. I glanced back at Loki. He looked pissed.
"Oh, and Thor, keep Volstagg away from the wine or the group. I don't care which one, but I will not have another incident like the last time." he told Thor as Thor walked out. I saw Sif smirking and then looked at Loki, but he had already started to walk out. I fell in step with Odin, Frigga, and a few other guards as they prepared for everything tonight. I felt bad at how he reacted to Loki, but knew that I couldn't say anything.
Loki POV
I walked with Thor and Sif but I was mad. I couldn't believe that Father was acting like that. He always got like that when visitors came. He was embarrassed by me because I was his adopted son. I knew it, everyone knew it, and it always came to the surface at times like these. I didn't know why I even had to be here tonight if he was going to be embarrassed of me. He always wanted us to present a united front for Asgard, but I was tired of it. I was looking forward to going with Parker today only to be embarrassed in front of her and the court.
"Don't take it to heart, brother." Thor said and I shot him a look. I stopped walking and looked outside. I didn't want to hear his bullshit right now or go with them.
"Easy for you to say that when he's not ashamed of you." I shot back and he stopped to look at me as Sif stopped beside us. They could tell that I was mad. She shook her head and crossed her arms over her chest. I wasn't about to take her shit either.
"Loki, not now. He's not ashamed of you. You know he gets like this when they visit. He wants us to look strong for Asgard." he said and I pursed my lips.I was started to hate Asgard little by little. I wish I had just let go of Thor when he saved me on the Bifrost.
"Come on, Loki." Sif said trying to get me to drop it and took a step towards where we were needed for tonight.
"Shut up whore." I snapped and she drew her sword. Oh good, I was looking for a fight. I hadn't been in one in awhile... I was too busy trying to be good for Parker.
"Do not call her that." Thor said and I smirked. I had heard him talk about her while drinking... I know how he really felt about her.
"Why not? You marked her like one." I said and he put his hand out for his beloved hammer. Mjolnir came flying to us as I let two daggers appear in my hands. I had beat him in a fight before and I would do it again.
"Stop! This will not solve anything." Sif said. I looked at her and smirked. I used to care about her and the other warriors, but now I know they Thor's friends not mine. I had tried to get Sif's attention for years, but she was always hung up on my brother. I would never be good enough for any of them.
"No, but it will make us feel better." I said as Hogun and Fandral came running up. Yay, the rest of the group was here. We were going to meet them, so I wasn't surprised they were close by to come to Thor's rescue.
"Stop! This does not help." Hogun said and I pursed my lips. I respected Hogun, but I wasn't about to listen right now. I was angry, tired of this shit, and wanted nothing more than to leave Asgard. I thought that Parker being here would help me be here... but after what just happened who was I kidding. I didn't belong here.
"Loki, come with us." Hogun said and I looked from him to Thor. I put the daggers into the holder on my leg and shook my head. I walked around all of them and headed for the one place that I knew I was accepted. Thor called out to me, but I kept on walking. I didn't feel like being second best right now.
Parker POV
I was sitting with Odin, Frigga, and a few other high ranking guards as they talked about tonight. They were taking these visitors seriously, and judging by the guards they didn't trust them either. I was glad to be included, but I honestly wasn't sure what was going on. My mind kept wandering back to Loki. I knew that he had been embarrassed, and was angry. I couldn't blame him.
"Lady Parker, walk with me?" Frigga asked me and I nodded as the men kept talking about tonight, and what was going on. We walked out to a shaded balcony and sat down. I was really beginning to wonder if it ever rained here; it was always so sunny.
"I am sorry that you had to see that between Loki and his father." she said and I nodded. I wasn't really sure what I could say because Odin had been as asshole, but I was here because he allowed us to be. I didn't want to be the one and only ambassador because I fucked it up.
"I felt sorry for Loki." I admitted and she gave me a soft smile.
"Loki was always my child and Thor was always Odin's. Odin wanted Thor to be the best, and he was going to be ruler of Asgard one day." she said and I nodded... it made sense because Thor was first born.
"I'm honestly surprised he gave him that feast after he won against Thor. Odin was upset by that because he wants Thor to be the best." she admitted and I was surprised by this. Loki hadn't opened up too much about when he was a child, but I could tell that Odin favored Thor from the beginning of my time here.
"I am adopted so I understand what it's like to not be the favorite." I said and she looked at me surprised, but nodded.
"I taught Loki magic, and tried to make him feel loved. I feel as if I have failed some days. He's never kept anyone close... not even his wives. We encouraged him to get married, but that turned out to be a mistake both times." she said and I felt for Frigga. I could tell that she really did love Loki as her son, and wanted him to be happy.
"What happened? If I can ask." I said to her and she looked out over the gardens for a moment. She finally nodded and looked back at me. I hoped that I hadn't overstepped by asking that... maybe I should have asked Loki.
"Loki's first wife was an arranged married, much like Thor's, but we chose wrong for them. They were married for awhile before she died. We all knew it was poisoning, but no one wanted to say it. Sylvie, Loki's second wife, had been the one to poison her. Loki was happy enough with her, but with Sylvie... it was like fire and ice. They were always at each other because they were the same, but didn't want to admit it. Sylvie tried to kill Loki one day, and Odin banished her. No one was going to kill a prince of Asgard." she said and I nodded, but now I was more surprised that Thor had a wife.
"And Thor's wife?" I asked as she chuckled.
"Sylvie's other victim... she was determined to get a prince." she said and my eyes were wide. Sylvie was one fucked up person.
"But, he loved her, and he's held it against his father ever since." she admitted and I nodded.
"I can't help but feel for him." I finally admitted and she gave a small smile.
"You are one of the few who noticed him before Thor... even if you got off to an interesting start." she said and I chuckled. Loki and I had some run ins before we started to play nice. I had tried to make a good impression, but for some reason he brought out the sarcastic bitch in me. We talked a little longer before Frigga told me to go get ready. I nodded and headed to my room. I was hoping to see Loki along the way, but I didn't. I just hoped that he was ok.
