Beacon meet Scp
Chap 2: Scp-294 and Scp-343
"MOVE IT!" The MTF Nu-7 personnel that was here when Scp-999 suddenly appeared shouted to the four D-class personnel transporting the new Scp that would be introduced to Beacon.
"So, what exactly are we looking at, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, curious. Currently, we were in Beacon's courtyard watching the Foundation transport another Scp. During the meeting between 05-2 and Ozpin, it was agreed upon to introduce the students to the Scps slowly and easily. This was so that the Beacon staff and students would become accustomed to what they were about to face.
"I will explain it later when everyone is together." I told her. With us currently was my team, Team Rwby, Ozpin, and the MTF Nu-7 personnel.
"Does that person have to yell at those guys?" Weiss asked, annoyed.
"Yes." I answered while never taking my eyes off the D-class personnel.
"Is there a particular reason for it, Mr. Arc?" Ozpin asked, taking a sip of his coffee.
"Again. I will explain it later." I told him, slightly annoyed.
Turning back around, we watched the D-class personnel carry the new Scp into Beacon Academy. We gave them a few minutes before entering ourselves. Needless to say, as we made our way through the halls, we gathered the attention of nearly every student. Which was a given considering we didn't tell any of the students about the deal/proposal. During the meeting, Ozpin and 05-2 agreed not to disclose anything to the rest of the staff or students until appropriate measures were put in place and the first Scp arrived.
"I still don't fully agree with this." I told the MTF Nu-7 personnel as I walked next to them.
"How come?" MTF Nu-7 personnel asked. Their voice filter made their voice sound robotic and cold as they spoke.
"We are letting dangerous Scps, that even though they have become a bit more docile, out of containment." I answered.
"I think you took one too many hits to the head. Remember, whatever the 05-council says, goes." MTF Nu-7 personnel reminded. Yet, I could tell the person was smirking and only joking, even with the voice filter.
"I know that. That doesn't mean I have to like it. It's just the fact that we are letting dangerous entities into a school full of immature students that are not prepared in the slightest in case something goes wrong. And, let's face it, something always goes wrong in our line of work, especially when it involves Scp-682 and Scp-076-2." I explained.
"You know, we can hear everything you two are saying." Yang interjected, annoyed. However, we only laughed at her expense.
Turning back around, we continued to make our way to the school's auditorium. Getting there, we saw the D-class personnel set down the Scp before being escorted out by another armed security personnel. Looking around, I noticed that the entire school was in attendance, which is quite rare as many would try and skip any meeting. Hearing some clear their throat, I turned around and noticed 05-2 asking me a silent question, to which I nodded my answer.
"All right. Since everyone is here, let's get this underway, Ozpin." 05-2 told him.
"Indeed. Especially since I am quite curious as to what you brought us." He agreed, walking up to the mic. He tapped it a few times, getting everyone's attention.
"Here we go." MTF Nu-7 whispered to me.
"I'm sure everyone is curious as to what's happening, so I'll keep this brief. I have agreed to a proposal from an organization that I didn't know existed beforehand. This organization specializes in keeping entities in containment, such as the orange blob you all heard about that appeared last week. And these entities are far more dangerous than any Grimm or thugs you will face in your lifetime. Here is one of their leaders." Ozpin explained before motioning to 05-2, who nodded before grabbing the mic.
"I will only say this once as, unlike your professors, I am not a babysitter. We are here only to test a new protocol that we established due to recent events. In simplistic terms, we will bring entities here to see how they react and behave in a non–Foundation environment. This will allow us to determine if they still pose a threat to everyone around them or not. And before you ask, we are only using this place because it is far from an actual civilization. This would give us enough time to hopefully contain the entity before it wreaks havoc or causes any significant harm. So, keep your egos in check." 05-2 explained before warning.
"What's harder? That or containing 682?" MTF Nu-7 asked. Despite wearing the helmet, I could tell that they had a smirk on their face.
"That is almost impossible to say." I answered, chuckling.
"So, we are cannon fodder." A voice called out. Turning to where it came from, we saw Cardin, the leader of Team Crdl, standing up in defiance. Annoyed, 05-2 looked over to MTF Nu-7 and nodded. MTF Nu-7 nodded back before raising her gun and taking a shot at Cardin. The bullet grazed his cheek, causing some blood to come out before his aura managed to heal the wound.
"Let this be a warning. Unlike Beacon's staff, we will not hesitate in putting someone down. Young or old. If it means being able to contain the entities, we will do whatever is necessary." 05-2 warned.
"I do believe they understand now." Ozpin interjected, hoping to diffuse the situation. "Care to show us the Scp you brought today?"
"Right. We decided to bring two Scp today. Under the tarp is one of them. The other shall come shortly. I will leave the rest for Jaune and MTF Nu-7 to explain as I must take my leave." 05-2 said before leaving with some security escorting her out. As soon as she left, all eyes turned on us.
'I'm definitely going to need a drink after this.' I thought with a sigh. Standing up, we walked over to the tarp and pulled it off to reveal the Scp underneath.
"What exactly are we looking at, Jaune?" I heard Weiss ask, confused.
"This is Euclid Class Scp-294." I answered.
"ITS JUST A VENDING MACHINE!" A random student yelled out but was silenced by both a warning shot from MTF Nu-7 and a glare from Glynda.
"Yes. But consider this a test. A way for all of you to get accustomed to what you will all be dealing with in the coming days. Now, Scp-294 is a standard coffee vending machine with the only noticeable difference being an entry touchpad with buttons corresponding to an English QWERTY keyboard." I explained.
"But there is something else to it. Right, Jaune?" Ozpin asked, curious.
"Yes, but rather than explaining it, it would be better if there was a demonstration." I answered before turning to Glynda. "Will you help us, Glynda?"
"Of course, as I'm curious as to why a seemingly standard vending machine requires security measures." Glynda answered as she walked over to the machine. "What would you like for me to do?"
"Upon depositing one lien, the user is prompted to enter the name of any liquid using the touchpad. Once completed, a standard 12-ounce paper drinking cup is dispensed with the liquid typed-in being poured a moment later." I explained before taking out a single lien and inserting it into the machine. "Glynda. Please type in a drink of any kind you want. Even ones from your past or ones that have been discontinued."
"But tell us the name of the drink first before you type it in." MTF Nu-7 added.
"Typically, I stay away from liquor, but I have recently been craving a drink called The Blue Lagoon." She told us as she typed in the drink's name. Scp-294 let out a low hum when Glynda finished typing in her request. Scp-294 dispensed a paper cup a few seconds later, with the liquid being poured right after.
"Go ahead, have a sip." I told her, smiling. She seemed skeptical at first but relented and took a sip from the cup. "How is it?"
"Excellent. Just like the one I had all those years ago." She answered, licking her lips before finishing the rest of her drink.
"Ozpin, would you like to try?" I asked, turning to him.
"Indeed." He said, sounding excited. Taking out another lien, I inserted it into Scp-294 before motioning for him to type in his request. He nodded and typed in his request with Scp-294 dispensing it a few seconds later.
"What did you request?" MTF Nu-7 asked.
"Biohazard Coffee, which is considered the strongest coffee in all of Remnant." He answered before taking a sip. "Tastes just as good and strong as I remember."
"Are there any requests we cannot make, Mr. Arc?" Glynda asked.
"Yes, but a couple of things first. First, Scp-294 will be able to fulfill approximately fifty requests. After which, it will deny any further requests. However, after approximately ninety minutes, it will have restocked itself and continue to serve requests." I began.
"Can it just serve drinkable liquids, or can it do more?" Ozpin interjected, curious.
"Yes. Scp-294 can produce nearly any drink that you request. Scp-294 can also dispense liquids such as sulfuric acid, wiper fluid, and motor oil, as well as liquids that generally don't exist in a liquid state. Some examples include but are not limited to are, nitrogen, iron, and glass." I answered.
"However, further testing is still ongoing as to what it can produce as it has produced requests that cannot at all exist in liquid form and defy common sense." MTF Nu-7 added.
"Such as?" Ozpin asked before taking a sip of his drink.
"There have been tests to see what Scp-294 can and cannot produce. Some tests include requesting for gold, liquid carbon, which was a substitute test for requesting a diamond, and unique liquids. A couple of the more outlandish tests involved requesting a drink about a person's memory, a cup of pertinent medical knowledge, and the life story of a researcher." I began.
"We even ran tests to see if Scp-294 can dispense the blood of extinct animals, room temperature superconductor, and D-151839's leukemia. As you can see, we performed a wide variety of tests, with some being marked as a success while others were deemed failures." MTF-Nu 7 finished.
"Which tests did the Foundation deem as failures?" Dr. Oobleck asked.
"Sorry. But that information is classified. Mainly due to that regarding others Scps that we are not at liberty to discuss." I answered before adding. "And without that information, none of our answers would make sense."
"Mr. Arc, I have a question." Glynda said, getting my attention.
"Yes?" I asked, turning to her.
"When we were in Ozpin's office a while ago with the other Scp, you said it was Safe Class. But this one you called Euclid class. Why is that, and what is the difference?" She asked, curious.
"Okay. The classifications generally refer to the probability an anomaly will breach containment. The classifications range from Safe to Apollyon. There are more categories, but we do not have the authorization to discuss them. Safe Class means that the anomaly is contained and has a low probability of breaching containment. Euclid class means the anomaly requires more resources to contain completely or that containment isn't always reliable. Usually, this is because the SCP is insufficiently understood or inherently unpredictable." I explained.
"I am still not sure why this Scp falls into Euclid Class." Glynda said, confused.
"That's because we don't fully understand the capabilities of Scp-294. It has produced requests in certain situations that it would typically not make. Plus, if not handled with care, a person could possibly request a liquid that could potentially harm others." MTF Nu-7 explained.
"What kind of requests can we not make?" Ozpin asked, curious and concerned.
"Yes. There are a couple of requests you cannot input. One such request is 'The Perfect Drink.' While we cannot go into full detail, we can say that the researcher who requested it died by suicide after drinking the drink. We still have yet to identify the drink he requested and why it caused him to go down that route." I answered, causing most of the people in the room to pale considerably.
"That seems highly unlikely that it happened. However, considering what it has shown us so far, I am willing to believe it." Glynda said, shocked.
"Is there anything else we should know about this, Scp?" Ozpin asked.
"Yes. But we will go into detail at another time. However, once the meeting is over, we will provide you with a list containing everything we have gone over." I answered.
"Where will you be placing this Scp?" Glynda asked.
"The staff's breakroom. Despite being classified as Euclid, Scp-294 is harmless and a lien-saving venture. Plus, this Scp is a gift from the Foundation for helping us with this new protocol." I answered.
"That is most considerate, thank you." Ozpin said, smiling. Turning to Glynda, we noticed that she was fondly eyeing the machine, most likely thinking of all the drinks she could have at her disposal. MTF Nu-7 then motioned for some D-class personnel to take Scp-294 to the staff's breakroom. However, as soon as they left, the students started to complain.
"THAT ISN'T FAIR!" One student yelled out.
"HOW ABOUT US?" Another yelled out.
"WHEN DO WE GET A TURN!?" A third shouted.
"I am going to need some more of that drink or a bottle of aspirin." Glynda said, massaging her temples.
"Here you go." A new voice said while handing her a bottle of extra-strength aspirin.
"Thank you." Glynda said, taking the bottle. She then proceeded to open the bottle and pop two pills into her mouth. Only to spit them out when she realized that she did not recognize the voice. Turning around, she came face to face with a relatively large male in robes smiling at her. Jumping back in freight, she took out her riding crop to defend everyone if the man proved hostile. "WHO ARE YOU!?"
"Oh, hello, Scp-343." I said, smiling at him. "Perfect timing."
"How many times do I have to tell you, Jaune. No need for formalities with me. Just call me Mathew." He reminded while laughing.
"I know. Just following rules set by the Foundation." I explained.
"Wait, is this the other Scp you were talking about?" Ozpin asked, curious.
"Yes. This is Scp-343. Otherwise nicknamed as God. Although, he prefers to go by the name Matthew." MTF Nu-7 answered.
"Well, he certainly looks the part as some books have portrayed him as. Considering he has the same white hair and dark skin." Port said, critically eyeing Scp-343.
"What are you talking about, Port? He clearly has brown hair and tanned skin." Glynda asked.
"Technically, you are both correct. Scp-343's appearance is different for each person. Someone could see him as a young male, while another might see him as a middle-aged male with dreadlocks." I explained.
"Is that what makes him an Scp, Mr. Arc?" Oobleck asked.
"Only partially. What makes him an Scp is the fact that he's omnipotent. He's also supposedly the creator of all existence. He even claims to have created Oum himself." I answered.
"I find that incredibly doubtful. Have this so-called God prove his claims." Weiss demanded with a smug grin. Scp-343 chuckled before walking through the nearby wall and reappearing behind Weiss.
"I do believe you forgot this at your home in Atlas." He said while holding an incredibly ornate hairbrush.
"WHAT!? HOW DID?!" Weiss screamed in shock at seeing Scp-343 appear behind her. Scp-343, meanwhile, chuckled before disappearing and reappearing back on stage.
"As I said previously, he's omnipotent." I said, chuckling at her expression.
"What classification is he, Jaune?" Glynda asked, concerned.
"Safe Class." I answered.
"Seems a bit low for someone as powerful as him." Ozpin stated, eyeing Scp-343, who materialized a chair and hamburger and was now sitting and eating said hamburger.
"To some, yes. However, the reason he's classified Safe Class is that despite his powers, he's a lovely man who enjoys company. And each time someone leaves his company after spending time with him, they report being happier and calmer." I answered.
"Plus, he only uses his powers for either entertainment/amusement purposes or simply making a task easier to accomplish. One such example was him transforming a ten-by-ten empty room into a twenty-by-twenty lavish room. With the design resembling early Mistral style." MTF Nu-7 added.
"Amazing." Oobleck and Port said, amazed.
"Are there any containment procedures for him?" Glynda asked.
"No, as none of them would work considering he can walk through walls whenever he pleases. However, he does have a place where he resides at another minimal security site. The room in question is the one I just told you about where he completely changed it." I answered.
"Is he going to stay here?" Ozpin asked.
"He stays wherever he pleases. As I said, we are unable to contain him. Not like we want to, anyway." I answered.
"But I can stay here for a while if you want." Scp-343 said behind me. Before, it would have made me jump a bit, but after so many times, I have gotten used to it now.
"I do believe that would be very helpful to staff and students here Scp-343." Ozpin stated.
"Please. Call me Matthew. Now is there a room I can use as my own?" Scp-343 asked.
"Right. Follow me." Ozpin answered before walking out of the room. However, while Ozpin used the door, Scp-343 walked through the wall.
"Is there anything else that we need to discuss, Mr. Arc?" Glynda asked, turning to me.
"No. That is it." I answered.
"Very well." She said before turning to the mic. "You are all dismissed."
"That went better than expected. Hopefully, it can stay that way considering the Scp that's coming soon." MTF Nu-7 said as we watched the students and faculty leave the auditorium. Most of them were still jealous that they couldn't try Scp-294.
"Hopefully." I agreed as my teammates and friends walked up to us.
"Well, that was certainly interesting, Jaune. I never expected to meet an omnipotent man in my life." Pyrrha said, amazed.
"Or a vending machine that can give you almost anything." Yang added, equally amazed.
"But I am guessing they are one of the least dangerous the Foundation holds." Ren said, concerned.
"Your right. These two Scps are some of the safe entities we contain." I confirmed.
"I still want to know why those people were wearing orange jumpsuits, Arc?" Weiss asked, annoyed yet still holding the brush Scp-343 gave her.
"They are D-Class personal. Basically, they are expandable people the Foundation uses when testing Scps. If they die, we move on and forget about them." I answered.
"Sounds kind of harsh, Jaune. To throw away lives like that as if they don't mean anything." Blake said through narrow eyes.
"There are two reasons behind that. The first is that the Foundation values lives very little. This is because our ultimate goal is to contain and eventually destroy most Scps, and if that means sacrificing some lives, then so be it. The second reason as to why D-Class personal ain't worth much is because they are all death row inmates." I explained.
"Wait. So, all of them are prisoners sentenced to death?" Ren asked, shocked.
"All D-Class personal are death row inmates who were sentenced to death for some of the worst crimes imaginable. Such as terrorism, being serial killers, drug traffickers, and the likes." I answered.
"Do you ever use any other types of people for testing?" Yang asked, nervous that we might use her or Ruby.
"Yes. But that is only when there is a shortage of Death Row inmates. In which case, we would snag corrupt politicians, drug dealers, and others like them and create fake cover stories explaining their disappearance." I answered.
"That's a relief." Yang said, sighing in relief that we wouldn't be using her or Ruby.
"Better get going as you all still have classes. Plus, Jaune and I have to prepare for the next Scp." MTF Nu-7 interjected.
"Right. Well, we'll see you later, Jaune." Pyrrha said before they left the room.
"Better get ready. This next Scp will certainly be tough to contain." I said as MTF Nu-7, and I left the room to prepare.
Note:
Simple chapter to ease the students into it.
The next chapter will have Scp-049.
