Beacon meet Scp
Chap 3: Scp-049
"GET GOING! HE'S ALMOST HERE!" MTF Nu-7 personnel shouted to the other security and D-class personnel moving about Beacon's courtyard.
"Is this really necessary, Jaune?" Pyrrha asked, nervous. And who could blame her as the D-class personnel set up various tents while the security teams brought out the heavy weapons and machinery to deal with the next Scp. Not to mention that there were roughly three hundred security personnel of clearance level four here. Plus, every single one of them was armed with high-caliber guns and stun batons.
"It is. This next Scp is extremely dangerous." I answered as I squeezed her hand to help calm her down.
"What class is it?" Ren asked, eyeing all the guards' weapons while preventing Nora from getting her hands on any explosive weapons.
"Euclid class." I answered.
"So not that dangerous then." Weiss said with a smug grin.
"Which means that we could beat it easily." Yang added with a cocky smirk.
"Looks like the blond bimbo and the stuck-up snow bitch are even stupider than we initially thought. The classes only mean how likely the entities are to escape and how difficult they are to contain. The classifications do not refer to how dangerous they are." MTF Nu-7 growled out as she came towards us.
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY!?" Yang yelled with her eyes turning red and hair catching on fire.
"Care to repeat that?" Weiss seether as she took out her rapier. However, right after they did that, they were both forced to the ground courtesy of Glynda. Needless to say, she was not at all happy with what she had just heard.
"As much as I am inclined to tell the guard not to say those things to my students, it is warranted. It is clear that neither of you have been paying attention to what they have told us. Plus, both of you have shown an evident lack of discipline and common sense, which are integral parts of any Huntress. I have half a mind to expel you both right now. However, I am willing to give you both one last chance. Don't make me regret it." Glynda warned them.
"Yes, professor." They simultaneously said while looking down at the ground. Yet, it was evident to everyone that they didn't really care about the warning.
"Fearless Leader." Nora said, getting everyone's attention. Turning to her, we saw that she was pointing at some D-class personnel carrying cases filled with red pills. However, what stood out about that scene were the guards that constantly kept their guns aimed at the D-Class heads. "What's with all the pills?"
"Those pills are duplicates of another Scp, which has the ability to cure any ailment, regardless of the severity. All it takes is one pill, and you're completely cured in a matter of hours. However, these are duplicates that are far less powerful. They only work sometimes and would most likely only halt the disease or cure you halfway. But with repeated usage, they will eventually cure the disease." I answered.
"Why hasn't the Foundation given these pills to the public then? They could save tons of lives?" Blake asked, shocked at the healing potential of these pills.
"That's because we have yet to find a successful way of duplicating the originals without them being a severely weakened version. Plus, there are only forty-seven non-duplicate pills left." MTF Nu-7 answered.
"Not to mention the fact that people will most likely abuse the pills and only use them for trivial things such as a hangover." I added.
"Makes sense when you put it that way." She said, realizing why we haven't released it to the public yet.
"Mr. Arc, why did you have everyone wear full-body clothing and their armor?" Ozpin asked, walking up to us.
"That's because of the abilities this Scp has." I answered.
"Do you mean that this Scp can spread disease, Jaune?" Ruby asked nervously.
"If that's the case, then it would explain the pills." Weiss said, looking over to the cases of pills.
"Not exactly." MTF Nu-7 personal answered. "This Scp has the ability to cause all biological functions of any living organism to shut down through direct skin contact."
"Um, could our aura protect us?" Yang asked, scared at the thought of dying by a single touch.
"As much as I want to say yes, I have to say that our aura wouldn't do anything to protect us." Weiss answered.
"Unfortunately, Weiss is correct. We tested this on a few D-class personnel that had their aura unlocked, yet each of them died." I confirmed, causing their eyes to widen in fear and shock.
"Is this Scp fast, strong, or have any other unusual power?" Glynda asked.
"Yes. He has above-average speed and average strength. However, aside from his ability to kill someone instantly, he has another unique talent. And that is to bring someone back as an undead puppet, regardless of how they died." I answered.
"What do you mean by becoming an undead puppet?" Weiss asked.
"When he brings you back from the dead through his special surgery, you'll basically be a walking corpse with no will or mind of your own." I explained.
"Now, I understand why you made us wear all this." Yang said, sweating a bit. But before I could say anything, the sound of a helicopter approaching caught our attention. Turning around, we saw a transport Foundation helicopter quickly approaching our location.
"LOOK ALIVE, EVERYONE! THE SCP IS HERE!" MTF Nu-7 personal shouted with all the guards grabbing their weapons and stun guns before heading to where the helicopter was landing.
"Pyrrha. Take this." I said, turning to her and giving her a vial of lavender.
"What's this for?" She asked, confused.
"In case you get cornered by this Scp, which hopefully does not happen. But if it does, open this vial and make sure it gets a whiff of the scent. Lavender has been shown to produce a calming effect on this Scp." I explained.
"Thank you, Jaune." She said, smiling as she took the vial and pocketed it.
"What's the name of this Scp?" Ren asked as the helicopter's doors opened up.
"Scp-049. Otherwise known as the Plague Doctor." I answered as a tall man wearing black robes, a creepy plague doctor's mask, and carrying a doctor's bag stepped out. However, what quickly caught MTF Nu-7's attention, along with mine, was that Scp-049 had a long wooden doctor's stick.
"ALRIGHT! WHO'S THE IDIOT WHO GAVE THIS SCP A DOCTOR'S STICK?!" MTF Nu-7 demanded. A D-class personnel raised his hand nervously, only to be terminated a moment later with his body dragged away by other security personnel.
"Was that necessary?" Weiss asked, never taking her eyes off the plague doctor walking towards us.
"Salutations, tout le monde. Je vois que j'ai été amené dans une école. Dommage qu'il ne soit pas médical." Scp-049 greeted in French.
"Um, what?" Yang asked, confused.
"I do believe that is French. A dead language." Weiss said, uncertain.
"Can you speak it, Weiss?" Ruby asked.
"I know a word or two, but that's it, and I can't even pronounce them that well." She answered.
"I do know the King's English and speak it well enough." The Plague Doctor interjected, sounding slightly annoyed. His voice sent a chill down everyone's spine as it sounded cold and ghostly.
"Why do you call it the king's English?" Pyrrha asked, curious.
"It's a regional thing, Pyrrha." I answered.
"You are Scp-049. Correct?" Ozpin asked while adjusting his grip on his cane as he instantly did not trust Scp-049.
"Yes, I am. And I take it you are the headmaster of this school." Scp-049 stated more than asked while waving his doctor's stick around.
"Can someone take Scp-049 doctors stick away from him?" I asked. A guard came up to do so but hesitated when the Plague Doctor turned his gaze to him.
"You will not take-" Scp-049 began, but I cut in before he could finish.
"Hand it over Scp-049. And I will talk to my superiors about getting you two fresh, recently deceased orangutans." I offered. Scp-049 seemed reluctant at first but quickly accepted the offer and gave the guard his doctor's stick.
"What kind of doctor are you?" Glynda asked as she kept a tight grip on her weapon.
"I am a medicine man. A cure to the people. Especially to the scourge that plagues both humans and Faunus." Scp-049 answered.
"And what would that be?" Ozpin asked through narrow eyes.
"The Pestilence. It affects all. But I wouldn't expect a feeble mind such as yourself to understand it." Scp-049 answered.
"Feeble-" Glynda began, but I stopped her before she made any hasty moves.
"He means that anyone who lacks medical knowledge is ill-equipped to handle the Pestilence. And they would be fools if they attempted to do so, anyway." I explained/lied.
"How can you tell if someone is affected by this pestilence?" Weiss asked suspiciously.
"Any medical professional worth their license should be able to tell if someone is afflicted with it. However, I must admit I can sense it more easily than others. That's why I dedicated my existence to treating people afflicted with this disease and eventually eradicate it from existence." Scp-049 answered.
"Are any of us inflicted with such a disease?" Glynda asked, adjusting her stance.
"No. I cannot sense it on any of you. But beware, it can affect you at any point in your lives." He answered.
"Understandable." Ozpin said before turning to me. "Will he be staying here, Mr. Arc?"
"No. Even if Scp-049 passes this test, he will be sent back to his containment site but with fewer restrictions and slightly more freedom." I answered.
"Very well. Please keep an eye on him as I don't want him around any of the students for an extended period of time as I do not trust him." He told me.
"Don't worry. We'll keep-Where did he go?" I asked when we realized that Scp-049 was no longer with us.
"Damn it." MTF Nu-7 cursed. She then turned to some nearby guards that were also silently panicking. "RAISE THE ALARM! We have a containment breach."
"What's happening, Jaune?" Ruby asked, scared when alarms started blaring all around us.
"This is now considered a containment breach as Scp-049 was instructed beforehand not to leave our sights, yet he just did. We are now restricting all access to and from Beacon until we find and contain Scp-049." I explained.
"Can we help?" Ren asked as he grabbed his weapons.
"Yes. By staying out of our way and sticking close to armed Foundation personnel." MTF Nu-7 answered as she loaded a fresh mag into her gun.
"Can't we just beat him up or something to subdue him?" Yang asked. This time, not cockily, but curious.
"No. Too risky. Even from a distance. Not to mention that Scp-049 isn't that durable. He can take a bit of a beating or a few stun shots, but that's it. Any more, and we risk complications. Not to mention, we don't fully understand Scp-049's biology, which makes it harder for us to treat him." I explained.
"We should warn other students to avoid Scp-049, should they spot him." Ozpin said while taking out his scroll to message the rest of the faculty.
"Right." I agreed before turning to some nearby personnel. "You three. Guard them and make sure Scp-049 doesn't come anywhere near them."
"Understood." They said while arming their stun batons.
"Okay. Let's move out." MTF Nu-7 shouted.
'Hopefully, we can find Scp-049 before he turns someone into an instance of Scp-049-2.' I thought as we began to search the school for the Plague Doctor.
Scp-049 P.O.V.
'The Pestilence. I sense it. Somewhere.' I thought as I traversed the halls of this so-called school.
Walking throughout this school, I followed the faint trail the pestilence leaves behind. Yet, as I traversed these halls, I could not help but think that this school would be better off as a medical one instead of one meant to train students to fight false enemies. Whatever the Foundation might lead you to believe, the true enemy and scourge of the world is the Pestilence. However, as I continued to follow the trail the Pestilence left behind, I could not help but notice that the school was almost Pestilence-free.
'It seems Jaune is keeping this place as Pestilence-free as he can and is trying his best to learn the nature of this disease.' I thought with a bit of joy.
The Foundation rarely, if ever, listens to me. They may claim, but we all know how much of a lie that is. That is why I always enjoyed the interviews with Jaune, as despite him lacking lots of medical knowledge, he tries to help. But it seems he is still in the infancy of learning as he missed the Pestilence.
'No matter. I will soon eradicate it and cure the person afflicted with this disease.' I mentally declared as I entered a new room where I felt the Pestilence increase in strength.
Looking around, I realized that this room served as where students get to eat. But what caught my attention was the group of students in the center of the room. My curiosity getting the better of me, I approached the group and noticed some thug-looking students harassing a poor Faunus girl. Typically, I would have ignored this as it did not concern me. However, I didn't walk away as I felt the Pestilence coming from the four students that were the cause of the Faunus girl's torment. The stench was so pungent that it nearly made me sick.
"Excuse me, gentleman." I interrupted, getting everyone's attention.
"Well, looky here. Some other "Scp" that Jauney boy claims are dangerous." The apparent leader mocked.
"And what can you do? Sell masks or stink up the room?" Another asked while holding his nose. Yet, his actions did not faze me.
"Are you all feeling well?" I asked while placing my doctor's bag on the floor.
"What do you mean?" The leader asked, confused.
"I am but a doctor. And I can sense a disease that is afflicting you all." I answered with my tone becoming serious.
"We're not sick." The third member of their group said, confused.
"But you are. Can you not feel it?" I asked, hopeful that they could sense the Pestilence as well.
"Why are we even answering this fool? We got more important and fun things to do." The leader said as he pulled on the bunny ears of the girl.
"S-stop it." She begged, crying. I did not know why, but this caused me to feel a rage grow inside me. A feeling that I only get when I'm near the Pestilence. Or when the Foundation foolishly questions my methods. But this time felt different.
"I concur. You all are sick. And if we put it off any longer, it could spread and cause severe consequences." I advised them, but like the Foundation, it fell on deaf ears.
"Even if we were sick, what could you even do about it?" The fourth member asked.
"For you see, I am the cure and one of the few who can truly cure people of this accursed disease." I answered while taking off my gloves. Contrary to what the Foundation has in their files, it must be skin-on-skin contact for my lethal touch to work. However, if I had my gloves on, my ability would not work.
"Oh, ya. If you think you can cure this fake disease, do it. If you can." The leader challenged/mocked.
"If you insist." I said, accepting his challenge. Then without warning, I lunged forward and touched the neck of one student and the face of the other. And as soon as I made contact, they both fell to the floor, dead but cured.
"WHAT DID YOU DO?!" One of the two remaining students shouted as he checked on his teammates.
"Sky, get up. You're embarrassing yourself. These two just fainted. Like the cowards they are." The leader said as he roughly grabbed his teammate.
"Cardin! They're not breathing." His teammate shouted. Yet, I silenced him when I touched his neck. He fell to the ground dead but cured like his teammates.
"S-sky. R-Russel. D-Dove. Get up." The leader stuttered, suddenly afraid. He then looked towards me with fear in his eyes. "P-please. I-I'm not sick."
"But you are. And I am the cure." I countered as I slowly made my way towards him.
He immediately let go of the girl's ears before running away. However, he did not get far as I quickly caught up to him. He tried to push me away, yet that proved a fatal mistake for him. Grabbing his hand, I cured him of the Pestilence with him falling to the floor a second later. Unfortunately, like his teammates, he died as well. But as I constantly tell the Foundation, while I do feel remorse for the deaths of these people, it is a necessary sacrifice to eradicate the Pestilence. Yet, before I could treat these bodies, I heard the girl crying again, reminding me that she needed help as well. Despite what some might think, I am not ill-equipped to treat other sicknesses or injuries. I turned around and headed for the Faunus girl while putting my gloves back on.
"Are you all right?" I asked once I reached her.
"Y-yes. But please don't hurt me." She answered, scared.
"I will not harm you." I assured her. The only people I would ever harm or kill are those afflicted with the Pestilence. And even then, I always try to put my patient's best interest first. "Let me help."
"STOP RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE, SCP-049!" A voice demanded behind me.
Jaune P.O.V.
Five Minutes Ago
'Come on.' I thought as we continued to scour the entire academy in an attempt to find Scp-049.
"Should we be worried that he could be going on a rampage?" Blake asked as we finished scouting the perimeter of Beacon's courtyard. Now, we headed inside in hopes of finding him.
"Not really, as despite how powerful he is and how dedicated he is to eradicating the Pestilence, he's typically not a hostile entity. Usually, Scp-049 is cordial, cooperative, polite, and well-mannered. Occasionally, he has angry outbursts when he's in the presence of the Pestilence or when someone questions his methods. However, pray to whatever deity you pray to that it doesn't happen." MTF Nu-7 personal answered.
"Speaking of which, what is this Pestilence? No one ever told us exactly what it is." Weiss asked.
"Ask him." MTF Nu-7 said, pointing to me.
"Honestly, even I don't know. I try my hardest to be open-minded and learn from Scp-049 what it could be. Yet, despite a few years' worth of interviews, I'm still unsure. To this date, Scp-049 is the only one who knows what the Pestilence is." I answered.
"Great. Just great." Weiss said, rolling her eyes. Only to get smacked in the back of her head by Yang.
"Let's just find this thing before it decides someone has this sickness." Yang told her. But as soon as she said this, a few students ran past us. We tried to get their attention but failed to do so. Thankfully, Pyrrha reacted quickly and used her semblance to keep them in place due to them wearing their armor.
"Thanks, Pyr." I told her, causing her to blush. We then walked over to the two students that she caught.
"What's the rush?" MTF Nu-7 asked once they calmed down.
"This strange figure clad in a black clock the proclaimed it was a doctor just killed two members of Team Crdl in a single touch. Just by a single touch!" The male student answered.
"Yeah. After seeing that, we didn't want any part of that, so we just booked it away from the place as quickly as we could." The female student added. At this point, more Foundation security personnel arrived.
"Where did you last see them?" I asked.
"In the cafeteria." The male student answered.
"All right. You're both free to go." I told them. They nodded before running away as quickly as they could.
"Come on. We need to hurry. All of you, with us." MTF Nu-7 said before ordering the Foundation security personnel to follow us. They nodded before we all rushed to the cafeteria as fast as we could. Unfortunately, we arrived too late as we saw all of Team Crdl dead on the floor due to Scp-049's lethal touch.
'Least they are not instances of Scp-049-2.' I thought when we saw the bodies. Quickly looking around, we saw Scp-049 approaching a crying Velvet.
"STOP RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE, SCP-049!" MTF Nu-7 demanded while raising her gun. The Foundation security personnel also aimed their firearms at Scp-049.
"Very well. I shall stop." He said, turning towards us before picking up his doctor's bag.
"You okay, Velvet?" I asked, walking towards her. Crouching beside her, I saw that her bunny ears were bruised. I didn't even need to guess as I knew that team Crdl did this.
"I'm fine, Jaune. My ears hurt a bit due to Cardin. But they were stopped when this guy killed them. At least, I think so, as they haven't moved since he touched them." She answered as I helped her up.
"That's nice." I said before turning to Scp-049, who looked quite bored as he examined the bodies of Team Crdl. "Why did you kill them, Scp-049?"
"Yes, why did you kill those students?" The voice of Ozpin asked behind us. Turning around, we saw Ozpin, a furious Glynda, and a concerned Peach standing by the cafeteria entrance.
"They were all infected with the pestilence." Scp-049 calmly answered. "So, I cured them. Admittingly, a tragedy that they perished."
"Can you check on them, Peach?" Glynda asked. She nodded before rushing over to Team Crdl, only to shake her head a moment later.
"They're dead." Peach said before taking out her scroll. She then used an app to check their aura levels. Only to discover that their aura was completely gone as well. "Aura is gone as well."
"Are you the doctor of this school?" Scp-049 asked, his interest piqued.
"Yes. I-" Peach began only for Scp-049 to cut her off.
"Marvelous. Another medical mind. Tell me, what is your field?" He asked, sounding excited.
"Physiology. But also, biology. I am also a qualified veterinarian." Peach answered, confused. She became even more confused when Scp-049 let out a sigh of disappointment.
"Yet, you do not know of the pestilence?" He asked, already knowing the answer.
"No." She answered while shaking her head.
"A pity. It looks like I am still on my own to eradicate the Pestilence." He said with a sigh.
"What are you going to do with him, Mr. Arc?" Ozpin asked, never taking his eyes off Scp-049.
"Call this in, and have the Foundation send a transport helicopter to bring him back to his site. However, it would take a while, as we initially planned on having him here until the end of the day." I answered.
"Wait. Can those pills from earlier help Team Crdl?" Ren asked.
"Red ones that look like capsules?" Scp-049 asked.
"Yes, those." Ren answered.
"Those only work on the living. Not the dead." Scp-049 explained.
"That's enough. Come on, Scp-049. Let's head to the front and prepare you for transport." MTF Nu-7 told him as the Foundation security personnel placed a locking collar and extension restraints on him. They then forced him to follow us to the school's courtyard to wait for transport to arrive.
Two Hours Later
"Needless to say, Scp-049 at least did leave an impression with the students." MTF Nu-7 said as we sat down on some boxes waiting for the helicopter to transport Scp-049 back to his containment site. Scp-049 was sitting on a nearby chair writing in his medical book.
"Yeah. Now they will know that Scps can be extremely dangerous." I agreed as we watched Scp-049 suddenly become excited and begin writing feverishly in his book. Shaking my head, I turned back to MTF Nu-7. "You know Amelia; you can take off the helmet when it's just me, certain Scp, or just Foundation personnel."
"Right. Just habit." She said as she took off her helmet, allowing me to see her beautiful face with adorable freckles that I love to tease her with and long, auburn hair.
"That's alright as habit does come easily to any Foundation personnel." I assured her while smiling at her.
"You think that the students will be able to sleep tonight?" She asked, moving closer to me.
"I highly doubt they'll be able to sleep for the next week, at best." I answered. Hearing some footsteps, we looked up and saw Pyrrha, Peach, and Glynda walking towards us. Amelia reached for her helmet, but I stopped her before telling her that she didn't need to put it back on.
"Yes?" I asked once they neared us.
"Hello, Mr. Arc. I just came by to check to see if this Scp is still in chains." Glynda answered.
"And I was hoping to ask him some questions." Peach added, instantly gaining the attention of Scp-049. If we could see his face, we would have seen that Scp-049 was somewhere between amused and annoyed.
"How about you, Pyrrha?" I asked, turning to her.
"My last class just finished, so I came here to spend time with you." She answered before sitting down next to me. However, from the corner of my eye, I noticed her glare at Amelia, who, to my confusion, glared back.
"What do you want to know, doctor?" Scp-049 asked, curious while closing his book.
"A couple of things. First, where and when do you hail from?" She asked. Yet, instead of answering, Scp-049 pointed towards me.
"While we don't know his exact origin, we discovered him in the now ghost town of Montauban. The same goes for when as all we know that he is at least a few centuries old." I answered.
"Fascinating." Peach said as she took out a book before writing it down. She then turned back to him, unable to contain her curiosity at this point. "While you claim to be the cure for this 'Pestilence,' are you able to cure other diseases? Perform surgery?"
"Of course. I know how to cure other diseases. And my surgery skills are where they need to be. But the same cannot be said for my veterinary skills as they are just rudimentary." He answered, turning to her, so his attention was entirely on her.
"I did not expect this." Glynda said, surprised as we watched Peach and Scp-049 start to discuss various medical topics.
"Neither did we. But then again, at least it's with Scp-049 and not some of the more dangerous scps." I said as both Peach and Scp-049 began scribbling in their books.
"You used grim danger terminology with the other Scp. What would this Scp be?" Pyrrha asked, still in a glaring contest with Amelia.
"I would say Scp-049 falls into the Danger Rating Two category. He's not that difficult to put down, despite having powerful abilities. And he only uses those abilities on those afflicted with the Pestilence. Plus, as we told you earlier, he's generally cordial, well-mannered, and polite." I answered.
"Will you ever show us any Scp that are danger rating five?" Glynda asked, nervous and concerned.
"No. Too dangerous. Not to mention, most are gone either way due to something I cannot say as its classified." I answered. Hearing the sounds of a helicopter approaching, we looked up and saw the Foundation's transport helicopter making its final approach.
"Time to go Scp-049," I said as we got up and Amelia put her helmet back on.
"Oh, pooh. And here I was learning so much." Peach pouted.
"And it was like a breath of fresh air speaking to another medical mind that is willing to learn and has potential to help me stop the Pestilence." Scp-049 added with an almost happy tone. Turning back around, we were about to head towards the helicopter but stopped when we noticed the pilots approaching us.
"What is it?" Amelia asked.
"Going to be a while before we can transport Scp-049 back to site 19 as we need to refuel the helicopter." The pilot answered.
"Great, just what we need." Amelia said, annoyed. "How long?"
"About an hour." The pilot answered before leaving. Amelia groaned in annoyance before turning to me. However, before she could say anything, we heard a voice that aggravates all Scps and Foundation Personnel. Even Scp-049 wants to slam his head against the wall each time he hears the voice.
"I AM THE CURE!" The voice proclaimed, causing Scp-049 to groan in frustration. Amelia, me, and the rest of the Foundation Personal placed our heads in our hands in irritation.
Note:
I forgot to mention this, but I will be using the Scp wiki for this story, including the heroes/villains wiki. I'll also be using the files of other Scps as certain information might be found on their files, yet not in other Scp files. Example: Scp-049 teaming up with Scp-1233.
Scp-049 will appear in different chapters as well, mainly because he is my favorite Scp.
The next chapter will have Scp-049 along with Scp-049-j.
