Beacon meet Scp
Chap 4: Scp-049-J
"I AM THE CURE!" The irritating voice proclaimed.
"Why must he be like this?" Scp-049 asked while placing his head in his hands after putting away his book.
"Who must be like this?" Glynda asked, curious as to who just shouted.
"Scp-049-j. Otherwise known as The Plague Fellow." Amelia answered.
"What makes this one special and requires containment?" Pyrrha asked.
"And why does it have the same designation as the Plague Doctor. Is it a doctor as well?" Peach asked, curious.
"Do not soil the names of doctors. That Scp is not a doctor and cannot cure anything." Scp-049 warned.
"It has the same designation as Scp-049 because of the many similarities between the two." I explained.
"But what about the "J" at the end?" Pyrrha asked.
"The "J" stands for Joke. Anything that has been given the -J designation means that the entity is a joke class. Generally, this classification is given to Scp that seem like they were created to make people laugh. However, this Scp only makes people irritated, and Scp-049 to bang his head against the nearest wall." Amelia answered.
"Is he dangerous, and if so, why?" Peach asked.
"Two things. Well, technically three. First is the doctor's stick. If he has one, watch out. He can easily knock you out with it, although he never aims to do that. He only waves it around like an idiot. The second is his sweat. Prolonged exposure to his sweat can become lethal to anybody, regardless of whether they have aura or not. However, you don't need to worry about that too much as we have ordered him to keep his mask on at all times. This is enough protection to prevent someone from getting infected. And lastly, is his cure to any disease." I answered.
"What exactly is his cure, and what's dangerous about it?" Glynda asked, curious.
"His cure is just beating a sick person with a shoe until they die. And then claims they have been cured." Scp-049 answered.
"But they have been cured, fellow doctor and brother." The irritating voice of Scp-049-j argued. Looking up, we saw an entity similar in appearance to Scp-049. The only difference was that the mask's beak was longer, covered his entire head, and went down to his shoulders. And the last difference between the two was that Scp-049-j wore a hat while Scp-049 didn't.
"How many times must I tell you? A shoe is not a cure." Scp-049 asked with a sigh.
"But it is, brother. A shoe is a cure. The magnificent cure for curing all. Especially the pestilence." Scp-049-J argued back. Unfortunately, all that resulted in was Scp-049 letting out a vicious growl.
"Cure or not. How did you get here Scp-049-j?" Amelia asked.
"Because I sniffed pestilence and disease here." He answered while swinging his arms outward as if about to proclaim his cure or arrival.
"Really?" I asked, knowing without a doubt that he was lying. While not known for his ability to lie well, Scp-049-j did often lie. Mainly when someone questioned him, his cure, or his ability to cure people. And when caught in a lie, Scp-049-j would sweat profusely and stutter while speaking.
"Y-yes. I s-sensed it. And my c-cure is needed." He weakly lied.
"Great. Security breach again." I groaned.
"Will this be another lockdown?" Peach asked, curious.
"No. But we- Oh Oum dammit. He's gone again." Amelia began but stopped when we noticed that Scp-049-j disappeared without a trace again.
"Wait. He was just here. How did he escape?" Glynda asked, looking around, only to realize that Scp-049-j was gone entirely.
"Despite his utter lack of medical skills, he has a knack for escaping even the tightest of security measures." Scp-049 explained.
"Do you think he's still here or somewhere else?" Pyrrha asked.
"Well, from past experiences, every time he escapes questioning or containment, he always heads to the nearest hardware store." I answered.
"Why would he go to a hardware store?" Glynda asked.
"So he could get a pointier wooden doctor's stick." Amelia answered.
"Then that would mean he's currently in Vale." Glynda surmised.
"Which means we have to get him back." I said as we stood up.
"Is he particularly dangerous to the people of Vale?" Glynda asked as we made our way to a Foundation helicopter.
"Only with a doctor's stick or when someone asks for his help in curing something. Otherwise, he is a harmless idiot. One that thinks he is a cure when he really isn't." I answered.
"Wait, who is going to watch over Scp-049?" Pyrrha asked.
"I can take care of myself." Scp-049 interjected, annoyed.
"How about a deal? We forget all that happened here today if you help us capture Scp-049-J." I offered as we reached the helicopter.
"Fine, I'll help. Plus, it would be nice to see the world outside the Foundation walls." Scp-049 agreed after thinking it over for a moment.
"The 05-council might not like this." Amelia warned.
"What don't they like?" I countered.
"Can I come?" Peach asked, surprising us. "I still have so many questions for him."
"Fine." Amelia answered.
"How about us?" A new voice called out. Turning around, we saw Team Rwby, Ren, and Nora running towards us.
"I'm afraid I cannot allow that. At least, not with all of you. Only three can come." Glynda interjected before Amelia or I could answer.
"Who should come?" Amelia asked, turning to me. Looking between everyone, I knew who should come with us.
"Blake, Pyrrha, and Yang." I answered after giving it a moment to think it over. They nodded before we all got into the helicopter and headed for Vale.
One Hour Later
"So, this Plague Fellow is a joke version of The Plague Doctor?" Yang asked as we exited the helicopter and headed towards the nearest hardware store.
"Pretty much." Amelia answered.
"You mentioned earlier that Scp-049-j is not particularly dangerous. But has there been an incident that caused a lot of damage?" Peach asked. Only to become confused when Scp-049 groaned in pure frustration while Amelia and I struggled to contain our laughter.
"Yes. While we don't have an official name for it, most just call it the Moon Champion incident." I answered, smiling towards Amelia, motioning for her to explain.
"Please don't." Scp-049 almost begged.
"Moon Champion?" Blake asked, confused.
"Long story short, Scp-049-j was tricked into helping another Scp become a threat to the Foundation and life itself. By the time we would have been able to contain the entity, numerous lives would have been lost. Luckily, Scp-1233, otherwise known as The Moon Champion, arrived and started battling the other Scp." Amelia began, trying her best not to break her composure.
"However, Scp-1233 soon realized that it needed help in taking down the attacking Scp. So, it recruited a couple of other Scp including Scp-049 here." I continued.
"Don't." Scp-049 warned with a growl.
"What did he do?" Peach asked, writing in her book feverishly.
"He used Scp-049 and his undead puppets, which act as his minions, like a whip against the robot." Amelia and I answered, no longer able to contain our laughter, much to the chagrin of Scp-049.
"It wasn't funny." He argued, pissed.
"Where and when did that happen? We certainly would have heard of that fight?" Yang asked.
"All of Vale did learn of the incident. However, The Foundation used class c amnestics to remove the memories of the fight from everyone." I explained.
"Although, it did help that the majority of the fight took place in space." Amelia added.
"Wait. It happened in space?" Blake asked, shocked.
"Yup. We even have footage of the fight; unfortunately, we don't have clearance to show you." I answered.
"How did they get back?" Pyrrha asked, curious.
"Surprisingly, Scp-049 somehow has knowledge about space rockets. He managed to fix an abandoned spaceship and used it to get back to Remnant." Amelia answered.
"So, you are a rocket scientist as well?" Peach asked, curious.
"Just because my passion is in medicine and my goal is to eradicate the Pestilence does not mean I don't have other interests." Scp-049 answered, irritated.
"But back to the problem at hand, how are we going to find The Plague Fellow?" Blake asked.
"I am the Cure!" Scp-049-j yelled out, getting the attention of everyone in the immediate vicinity.
"That's how." Scp-049 answered as we followed the voice, which led us to the hardware store. Entering, we looked around and quickly spotted Scp-049-j next to an elderly couple. They seemed to have been searching for a doctor and stumbled upon Scp-049-j, but now are having second thoughts, especially when Scp-049-j grabbed a shoe and raised it over his head, ready to cure them.
"STOP RIGHT THERE, SCP-049-J." Amelia shouted while aiming her weapon at him while the rest of us rushed towards him. Yet, to our surprise, the elderly couple didn't even flinch when they saw Amelia's gun.
"But these people require the cure." He countered while waving his doctor's stick around, nearly hitting Pyrrha in the process.
"Yang. Get that stick away from him." I told her. She nodded before walking up to Scp-049-j and effortlessly ripped the doctor's stick away from him.
"You're coming with us, Scp-049-j." Amelia said as she took out some restraints.
"Yes, yes. To cure more people." He said excitedly.
"Again. Why are you like this?" Scp-049 asked, shaking his head.
"To support and help you fellow doctor." He proclaimed.
"NO! WE'RE GOING BACK TO- and he's gone again." Scp-049 began, having snapped, only to realize that he was shouting at the air as Scp-049-j escaped again.
"How does he do that? We took our eyes off him for only a second." Pyrrha asked, surprised.
"That is something we are still trying to figure out." I answered with a sigh. I then turned to Amelia. "Call this into the Foundation and have them bring some amnestics for this elderly couple."
"On it." She said before taking out her scroll.
"How are we going to keep this Scp in one place without knocking him out? Preferably with his doctor's stick?" Yang asked as she leaned on the stick.
"I think I have a solution." I answered after thinking it over for a moment.
Half an Hour Later
"What are those?" Yang asked, curious as she watched the two Scp race around her at high speeds.
"The orange one is Scp-131-A. The Yellow one is Scp-131-B. Although, we simply call them the Eye Pods." I answered.
"They seem cute." Blake said, her eyes following the two Scp. Only to let out a chuckle when they tried to stop, couldn't, and crashed into each other.
"How will they help us find Scp-049-j?" Peach asked.
"It only takes Scp-049-j a moment of not being watched to escape. These Scp will prevent that as they will maintain eye contact with him as they don't need to blink. Plus, with these tracks, we'll constantly know their location." I explained as Amelia placed a small collar around the tip of the Scps. The Scps seemed to nod in agreement before racing around in excitement at their collars.
"What class are they?" Pyrrha asked, smiling at the Eye Pods.
"Safe class. The Eye Pods are harmless and have saved Foundation personnel from other Scp." I answered.
"An Scp that we have seen before, or a different one?" Peach asked.
"Ones that none of you have met before. But the most significant one was Scp-173, otherwise known as The Peanut. However, that's a story for another time." I answered.
Leaving the hardware store, we searched all over uptown Vale. Yet, after two hours of searching, we found nothing. Luckily, we caught a break when we overheard some shoe store employees talk about a weird freak in their store. Sighing, we entered the shoe store and saw Scp-049-j gawking at all the shoes the store contained. Unbeknownst to him, he was also scaring all the other patrons in the store, especially when he waved around a shoe. The Eye Pods immediately dashed towards the exit to ensure that Scp-049-j couldn't escape. Taking out my scroll, I called the Foundation so they could send in some more personnel to help us secure and transport the entity back to Beacon.
"Look, brother. This place is full of different cures." Sp-049-j exclaimed excitedly.
"How many times do I have to tell you? This is not a cure." Scp-049 snarled.
"You know, you really do act like the big brother of this Scp." Yang teased. However, she went silent and paled when Scp-049 glared at her while raising his hand. Luckily, the doors opened, getting our attention. Turning around, we saw Foundation personnel rushing in to secure Scp-049-j.
"Yes. Take me to the next patient, for I have more cures." Scp-049-j declared as they took him into containment.
"He's going to escape again. Isn't he?" Blake asked, getting annoyed by Scp-049-j's voice.
"That is undoubtful, as the main reason we keep Scp-049-j is because of his ability to escape any containment." I answered. Seeing that we were finished, we headed back to Beacon.
One Hour later
"It was a pleasure meeting you, Scp-049." Peach said as she shook hands with the Plague Doctor. Scp-049-j was already back at a different site. All that was left was Scp-049.
"Same with you." Scp-049 said while picking up his medical bag before getting on the helicopter.
"Are these guys going to be leaving as well?" Yang asked, pointing to the Eye Pods. They were looking around Beacon in excitement yet never strayed far from us.
"No. The Eye Pods be staying here with us." I answered. Hearing this, the Eye Pods started racing around in circles, only to smack into each other when they forgot they didn't have brakes.
"Why?" Pyrrha asked, chuckling at the Eye Pods.
"They will be of great help when certain Scp come to Beacon." I answered.
"Speaking of which, what will the next Scp be?" Glynda asked, walking up to us. But before we could answer, we felt our scrolls vibrate. Taking them out, we noticed that we received a message from the Foundation. However, we paled considerably when we learned which Scp would be coming next. More specifically, two Scp.
"What 's wrong?" Pyrrha asked, worried when she saw our faces pale.
"The brothers Cain and Abel." We answered.
Note:
Not my best chapter, as I couldn't find too much on Scp-049-j that did not just say he cures people by beating them with a shoe. Oh, well. The next chapter will hopefully be better.
The next chapter will be Scp-073 Cain and Scp-076 Abel.
