Hey everyone, chapter 2 is here! It actually turned out more angsty then I was originally planning, but I guess I just didn't want Bakugou to forgive Kirishima easily, he's gonna make the redhead work for it a bit anyway I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 2

Bakugou woke up even earlier then usual. He didn't want to have to face anyone this morning, he was still feeling raw from last night. He looked in the mirror as he washed his face, ugh he looked like fucking shit. Lack of sleep did not suit him at all, and he had barely managed a wink all night. He felt so fucking stupid for believing that Kirishima was asking him out, in hindsight it was obvious it was all a joke.

He changed into his gym clothes and headed out for his run, burning off some of his emotions as he pushed himself harder. It did help him feel a little better.

When he arrived back to the dorms Bakugou was relieved to see that only Tokoyami was up, making himself something to eat in the kitchen for breakfast. Bakugou gave the other teen a nod before heading up for a shower and to get ready for classes. It was still far too early, but he thought he would head to class early and do some study before lessons began. He knew he couldn't hold off seeing Kirishima again forever, but he was determined to put the moment off as long as possible. He was showered and changed, bag packed, grabbing an apple and out the door just as the dorms other occupants started to stir.

Bakugou sat in his usual seat and could admit that he actually enjoyed the peace and quiet of having the classroom to himself. He pulled out some of his books and started revising the work they had done the day before. He was so caught up in his work that he didn't notice when other people started to trickle in.

Unsurprisingly it was Momo and Iida that arrived first. They shared a quick glance; the whole dorm had been in an uproar about where Bakugou was, when they'd left. Apparently Kirishima had played some kind of prank on the explosive blonde the night before, though neither of them had been there for it there had been plenty of talk about it this morning at breakfast.

Momo pulled out her phone and sent off a quick text to Jiro to let her now where Bakugou was so she could tell the others. Meanwhile, Iida eyed the blonde carefully, he did not look well. His eyes were red and puffy, with darks bags under them, the rest of his skin looking sallow in comparison. He felt a wash of concern run through him as he looked at the other teen, it was unusual to see the other looking so vulnerable. Whatever Kirishima had done, it must've been bad. He was honestly surprised; the redhead was usually such a kind and considerate friend.

Bakugou glanced up when he heard a chair being pulled out, but otherwise didn't acknowledge his classmate's arrival. Slowly the rest of the class started to arrive, everyone shooting furtive glances at Bakugou. They had all heard what had happened by now and most were surprised that Kirishima would even do such a thing to his best friend.

Kirishima burst in with Denki, Mina and Sero hot on his heels and made a beeline for Bakugou's desk.

The blonde slowly looked up as Kirishima fell to his knees in front of him.

"Bakugou! I am so sorry for what I did yesterday" the red head cried. "It was completely unmanly of me."

The rest of the class unashamedly watched the drama unfold in front of them.

Bakugou stared, his heart pounding in his chest and a knot forming in his throat. He stared so long that Kirishima started to squirm uncomfortably.

"Fucking whatever, I don't give a shit about that!" Bakugou growled, his voice coming out more broken than he would've liked.

Kirishima nodded uncertainly, "still, I am sorry." He tried to place a hand on Bakugou's shoulder, but the blonde shrugged him off, both felt their hearts break a little at the action.

Before Kirishima could say anything else Aizawa entered, and class began.

Bakugou felt half the class shooting him concerned glances throughout the lesson, but he ignored them all. Keeping his eyes focused to the front and studiously taking notes like always.

When the bell rang, he grabbed his bag and left, not bothering to wait for anyone else.

Kirishima's face fell as he watched Bakugou rush from the room.

He made to go after him, but Izuku grabbed his arm, "I'd leave him if I were you" the other teen said seriously. "Give him some time to calm down."

Kirishima nodded tearfully, "do you think he'll be able to forgive me though?" His heart twisted painfully at the thought of how much he'd obviously hurt Bakugou. The blonde liked to put up a tough front, but he was actually quite sensitive.

Izuku looked like he was thinking carefully about how he was going to answer.

"Look, I won't pretend to know everything about Kacchan, no matter how much our relationship has improved. I do know that he doesn't trust easily and that you broke that trust, I'm honestly not sure if he'll be able to forgive you."

Kirishima's eyes welled up, "I didn't mean to break his trust though."

Izuku frowned at this. "Look Kirishima, you're a good person but what you did to Bakugou was wrong. You manipulated his feelings for you so you could humiliate him in front of half the class. How did you think that was going to make Bakugou feel?"

Kirishima blinked slowly, staring at the green haired teen before him.

"What do you mean, his feelings for me?" he stuttered.

Izuku rolled his eyes, surely the other teen wasn't that oblivious.

"The fact that Bakugou likes you, that he's head over heels for you."

"What!?" Kirishima spluttered, staring at Izuku in shock.

Izuku glanced around at their assembled friends. They all looked equally surprised, except Todoroki who nodded seriously.

"This can't be a surprise to you. Does he treat anyone else the way he treats you? Taking care of you, cooking you food, letting you touch and hug him all the time, helping you with your homework, even the way he speaks to you is different to everyone else."

"Don't forget about when Kirishima was injured in that training exercise and Bakugou refused to leave his bedside until he woke up" Todoroki added. Everyone glanced at the half and half teen, how was Todoroki more observant than them!?

Izuku just nodded, "exactly!"

Kirishima looked like he was having a stroke, "that's because we're best bro's" he managed to choke out.

Izuku just rolled his eyes at that, "he's arguably just as good friends with Denki… well, he was" he amended, causing the other blonde to shift uncomfortably, "you don't see him doing any of those things for him."

Kirishima stopped to actually think about it, all the things that Bakugou did with him that he didn't with anyone else. Had he completely missed the fact that Bakugou had feelings for him, convincing himself that he was just what best bro's did?

"Oh shit."

Bakugou liked him and he had used those feelings against him. Bakugou hadn't even wanted to sit with them, and it was only after he'd pleaded with the blonde that he'd relented to stay.

Kirishima's stomach clenched, he thought he might throw up.

"This isn't going to be something you can just fix overnight" Izuku said gently, patting Kirishima's shoulder. He let out a deep sigh, "come on, let's go get some lunch."

The large group drifted off towards the cafeteria. Kirishima looked around hopefully when he entered but was unsurprised to find that Bakugou was not sitting at their usual table.

He picked restlessly at the food in front of him, the whole Bakusquad seemed down. It didn't seem the same without Bakugou there to yell at them. He thought back over everything Izuku had said, his mind still reeling from the realisation. Looking back, it seemed so obvious, Bakugou showed his affection not with words but with actions, Kirishima knew this and still he had missed all the signs. He was a fool. If he wanted to apologise to Bakugou and show him how much he meant to him, he needed to do it in a way Bakugou would understand, with actions, not words.

"I'm going to do whatever it takes to make it up to him" Kirishima murmured quietly but with determination, his red eyes were blazing. "Bakugou deserves nothing but the best and I'm going to give it to him."
