Ford was tumbling through the portal into an unknown realm. He didn't know what to expect from this experience. All he knew was that he had a fight with his brother Stan and he got sucked into the portal. He tumbled through the white light and stopped midair. He expected to fall onto solid ground by now, but it didn't happen. Ford opened his eyes and surveyed his surroundings. His glasses had fallen off during his transport so he had to reach into his pocket for an extra pair. He put on his glasses and was surprised at what he saw.

Everything was a seething, intergalactic foam that was colored red, yellow and purple. It looked very much like one of those lava lamps he had seen in his youth. There were asteroids littered everywhere, so Ford had to be careful so as to not hit any of them. A weird smell caught his attention, it smelt like burnt hair.

"This is by far the strangest place I've ever been to." He said to himself.

Ford began to fly across the strange world as he looked for a way back home. He had a whole lot to take in from all this. The things he had seen, the places he has been, none of them could compete with this. Everything was muted and out of focus. It took a while for Ford to get used to the whole no-gravity situation and floating around. But eventually, he got the hang of it.

As he began traveling through the realm, Ford made sure to be careful so as to not bump into any of the asteroids floating around. He thought back to how all this happened. It began a long time ago with his twin brother Stanley. They were really close when they were kids, even going on adventures together. Their childhood dream was to sail around the world together, becoming unstoppable. Everything was going well for them too: Stan always had his brother's back and Ford helped him with schoolwork. They also worked on their boat, the Stan-O-War, together during their free time. The future was looking great for both brothers and they couldn't be happier.

But then the principal contacted West Coast Tech, a prestigious school on the west side of the country, and told them about Ford's science fair project: a perpetual motion machine. He promised him fame and fortune which made his father proud. This was an opportunity that Ford couldn't pass up. He wanted more than anything to attend this school and show off his inventions to the world. It was a bright future he was looking forward to making.

But Stan was upset that Ford was giving up on their dream together. He wanted his brother by his side so that they could travel the world together, like when they were kids. He took his anger out on Ford's science fair project and accidentally damaged it, costing Ford his chance at attending West Coast Tech. He thought that Stan did it on purpose and harbored a grudge against him for that. Filbrick threw Stan out of their home and told him that he could only return once he made them the same amount of fortune that Ford would've made.

"Stanley." Ford said to himself. "What a fool I was to think I could trust him."

He hasn't exactly forgiven Stan for ruining his motion machine and ruining his chances to attend his dream school all those years ago. He didn't know what he was thinking, believing that his own brother was the only person he could trust with his secret. But he also felt somewhat guilty for not stopping their father from kicking him out of the house. Ford realized that he never even bothered to check in with Stan after that incident. But he was too busy with his own agendas and he still held a grudge against his brother.

But now wasn't the time to be thinking about the past. Ford continued flying through the foaming dimension as he searched for a way back to his home. As he was doing so, he wondered what Stan could be up to. The last thing he remembered before going through the portal was seeing Stan's shocked face as the portal sucked him in. Ford threw journal 1 to him for safe keeping. He still hoped that Stan would make the right decision and take the journal far away from Gravity Falls.

"Stanley. If you have any single conscience left in your mind: Please do the right thing for once in your life." Ford said to himself. "Take the journal far away from town and hide it so no one else gets their hands on it."

But he soon grew worried that Stan would try to use the book to reopen the portal to bring him back home. He became fearful that Bill would try to possess Stan and convince him to activate the portal to bring his demon minions to their world to conquer it. Ford had hoped deeply that such a thing won't happen, but he began to fear that it might. He wished that he hadn't built the portal in the first place. He wished he hadn't read that ancient spell to summon Bill into his mindscape. What a fool he was to have listened to the dream demon!

"Stanley…" Ford said. "If you truly value me more than anything... Whatever you do, don't try to reactivate the portal. It's too dangerous."

Suddenly, he heard a loud chilling laughter from behind him. He froze in place, too fearful to look behind to see where it came from. He gulped and turned around to see a horrifying scene: It was Bill Cipher! He once close friend-turned-enemy stared back at him with a sinister grin where his mouth would be. He sat on a throne made from infinite optical illusions that kept changing. Flanking behind him was a huge army of demons consisting of creatures more weirder than the ones Ford encountered in Gravity Falls.

"Look who decided to pay me a visit!" Bill cackled, his voice echoed in the background.

His minions shouted and laughed as they began surrounding Ford. He soon realized that he was in the Nightmare Realm.

"You!" Ford shouted. "You won't get away with this!"

But Bill wasn't intimidated by him at all. He just sat on his throne fiddling around with a tiny asteroid in his hands using magic.

"You don't scare me, Sixer." He said. "Care for a game of intergalactic chess? This time: YOU'RE the pawn!"

Bill snapped his fingers and sent his minions after Ford. But he manages to dodge the attacking demons and use the asteroids to his advantage. Ford bounced off each asteroid one by one in order to fly away and escape the oncoming demons. As he hid behind an asteroid, he heard Bill snap his fingers again to get his minions' attention.

"Sixer wants to play hide-and-seek! First one to find him and bring him to me gets their own galaxy." Bill said.

All the demons shouted with joy as Ford searched for an escape route. He manages to find a huge asteroid to hide in as Bill's minions searched for him outside. As he wandered inside the huge rock, he spotted a group of skeletons laying on the floor. Ford wondered if they were also trapped in the Nightmare Realm before they died. Suddenly, another portal opened up beside him. He looked at it with suspicion, he didn't know if it was a way out of this dimension. But Bill and his henchmen were still searching for him, so what other choice did Ford have?

"I have to take a chance." He said. "I can't just stay here with Bill on my tail."

Ford took a deep breath, took a few steps back, and ran towards the portal. He jumped into the portal and was soon whisked away to another location. He hoped that he would reach a location far away from Bill and his henchmen as he traveled through the bright light that was the portal.
