The sounds of keyblades clashing can be heard within the gummi ship. Roxas swings with the blunt end of his keyblade at Xion. Xion ducks below the blade before swiping with the blunt end of her keyblade at his legs, causing Roxas to trip and fall backward. Before he can get up he's met with the end of Xion keyblade at his neck
"Xion two, Roxas zero!" Namine says with glee. The trip to the next world had been taking longer than expected, so Xion convinced Roxas to spar while they wait. Xion's keyblade disappears and she extends her arm out towards Roxas. He takes her hand and Xion helps him from off the floor.
"Guess I win," Xion says, a large smile forming on her face.
"Hey, who said we were doing best out of three?" Roxas says, grin on his face.
"Nobody plays best of five Roxas," Xion says. The three chuckle for a bit, forgetting about the events that partook at Yen Sid's tower. Suddenly an alert is heard from the front of the Gummi Ship, and Namine takes a look, before speaking.
"Looks like we're here." The three look out the cockpit window to see a world with ancient architecture, a large mountain that shimmers with gold near its peak, and an entrance to a deep dark realm below.
"Oh, it's Olympus Coliseum!" Roxas says, glad to see another familiar world.
"You've been here?" Xion says, confused. It seems she'd never been given a mission for Olympus.
"Yeah, Saix sent me here a bunch of times with Xigbar and Demyx. Most of my missions were just fighting heartless, and being trained by some goat guy named Phil." Roxas says, looking back on the memories that feel so long ago, even if they were only a couple of months ago. "I did get to beat up Xigbar though!" Roxas adds on.
"Oh did you?" Xion says, not completely surprised that he can take Xigbar on in a fight, though not exactly believing in his statement."
"Oh, you don't believe me? Why don't I show you?" Roxas says with a hint of cockiness in his voice
"Oh, you're on," Xion says, a grin forming on her face before being interrupted by Namine.
"Guys. . ." The two turn to Namine, who makes a thumbs up and begins shaking it, pointing in the direction of Olympus.
"Oh right, the world. . ." The two gathered some supplies, such as potions and ethers before reconvening with Namine.
"Good luck you two. I'll be watching from here, Just say my name and I'll link the three of us together, alright?" Roxas and Xion nod before descending to the world below.
When the two land, they find that they're outside the coliseum like they normally are. Instead, they find themselves in a large dark cave, with lakes full of poison, and fog throughout the system.
"Are you sure this is the Coliseum Roxas?" Xion asks. The two wander around before something catches Roxas' eyes
"Ah! It's that way" Roxas points his hand to a large gate, with stairs that climb to the heavens above. The two begin to walk to the stairs when they hear a scream from behind them. The two turn to see a tall woman with red hair and pink robes running from heartless. The two draw their keyblades and slash through the heartless, instantly killing them, before turning to the woman. She stands there, catching her breath for a moment before looking at the keyblade wielders
"Who are you two supposed to be?" the woman says, not exactly thankful for being saved.
"I'm Xion and this is my close friend, Roxas," Xion says, in a happy demeanor.
"Yeah friends, sure. What are you two doing here? Most people wouldn't get anywhere near this close to the underworld." there's a short pause before Roxas comes up with an answer
"Oh uh, we're here looking for Phil and Hercules," Roxas says. He didn't actually know Hercules himself, but he knew Phil well enough to where he could pretend he did.
"Oh, looks like we have a friend in common. Name's Megara, but my friends call me Meg." Her tone becomes a bit friendlier. "Wonderboy should be duking it out at the coliseum, as he usually does. You two might be the break he needs. He's ready to drop dead but he keeps on fighting."
"Why can't he stop?" Roxas asks, puzzled. Surely a hero of Hercules status can catch a break every now and then.
"Hades is why," Meg says with distaste. "He's been sending monsters His way nonstop. If Hercules were to stop, Olympus would be overrun."
"Hades huh? Does he live here?" Roxas says looking around the place Meg called the Underworld.
"Well, yeah," Meg responded. Roxas and Xion turned their heads and their eyes locked. The two nodded before turning back to Meg.
"We'll talk to Hades. We've dealt with something like this before." Roxas says, confidence in his voice.
"Yeah. You should go to the Coliseum and check on Hercules" Xion adds on. There's a pause before Meg responds.
"Alright, you two seem to know what you're doing. Just be careful." She says, walking to the steps that lead to the coliseum. Once she's out of sight Roxas and Xion go in the direction she came from, and go to meet Hades. The two walk deeper into the cave system, the fog flowing down into the system like water rushing down a river. The two slay a few heartless when they see something that catches their eyes.
A man in an organization Coat Running deeper into the cave system as well.
"Looks like we're not alone," Roxas says, trying to stay quiet
"Who is that?" The two hear the voice of Namine in their heads.
"I can't say for sure, we'll have to follow him for now," Xion responds in her head before communications between each other's minds are cut off. The two-run after the organization member, Boulders falling from above as they do so. The two narrowly avoid being crushed multiple times. Eventually, they make it to a lower level of the cave system, and when they do, the first thing they're met with is the organization member charging right at them, the two draw their keyblades, but he runs right past them
"Run! Run away!" the man shouts before opening a corridor of darkness and fleeing without looking back.
"High pitched voice, avoids fighting like the plague, absolute coward. . ." Xion says. Trying to list off all the possible traits the figure has
"Yup, it's definitely Demyx all right," Roxas says, not even in a joking manner.
"Who's Demyx?" The voice of Namine Rings in their minds
"Basically the closest thing you can get to a joke in the organization's ranks. He can't fight to save his life, he's too lazy to actually do any work. The only thing he's really good at is playing the Sitar, which doesn't exactly help much in combat." Roxas responds
"I don't understand how someone like him could've gotten in anyways" Xion tacks on. It seems no one in the organization's ranks is fond of Demyx.
"Whatever, he doesn't matter. He's not a threat or anything. Let's keep going" Roxas says. The two head deeper into the caverns and find a large open valley, where all the fog is collected. The path that's been nothing but a downward spiral finally starts going up to a large building.
"That must be where Hades is," Xion says. Roxas nods and the two run to the tower ahead. Cutting down any heartless that gets in their way. The two climb up the tower, when they suddenly hear a loud commotion
"YOU ARE FIRED!" A loud booming voice is heard. Clashing and fire can be heard from the room ahead, and the two run faster to see what's going on. A man in red robes, with a large blade, is fighting a man in black robes, with gray skin, and blue flames for hair. The two duke it out, and the gray-skinned man prevails, throwing the red-robed man across the room. The gray-skinned man throws two balls of fire at the red-robed man when Roxas and Xion Jump in and block the fire.
"Hades I presume?" Roxas says, with a grin on his face
"That Keyblade!?" Hades says in shock and anger. He turns a bright red, flames and all, and charges at Roxas and Xion. The two swipe their keyblades to no effect. Xion casts a blizzard spell, sending shards of Ice at hades, but he feels nothing. Roxas, desperate focuses his energy and goes into Valor form. . . But nothing happens, he's not enveloped in the red energy, and he doesn't gain his keyblades. He can't use his drive forms.
"Xion, Something's wrong! I can't use Valor form!" Suddenly a booming laugh comes from Hades
"Hahaha! That's right! You see, here's the thing. You're in my world kiddos, In the Underworld, heroes are zeroes - comes with the territory." A large grin forms on hades face, his hands are engulfed in flames and he charges again at the two heroes, but he's blocked by the blade of the red-robed man yet again., who proceeds to knock hades back a bit.
"Run! Go!" the man commands
"No, we have a score to settle with hades!" Roxas attempts to charge at hades, but he's stopped by the red-robed man
"We can't fight him here! We have to go, now!" He drags Roxas out of the room, and Xion follows closely behind. Fireballs land behind them as they run, and Hades Persues them with a multitude of heartless at his side.
The three heroes slice and dice through the heartless while avoiding as many of Hade's attacks as they possibly can, they struggle a great deal, but they're able to escape the valley of the dead, and get Hades off their trail.
"You were really good out there. What's your name?" The red-robed man hesitates but he introduces himself as Auron. After taking a small break to catch their breath the three head towards the Underworld entrance. The three make it to the cave entrance, only to find the exit closed, and locked with a massive lock. Roxas and Xion pull out their keyblades and aim them at the keyholes when they hear a large roar from the ceiling, from which a three-headed dog drops from the ceiling. Auron distracts the beast, while Roxas and Xion shoot a beam of light from their keyblades, unlocking the gates to the outside world. All that's left is to take out the guardian of the Underworld, Cerberus.
The three-blade-wielding heroes clash with the three-headed beast of the underworld. Boulders rain from the ceiling as Cerberus shakes the earth. The three slash at the beast when they have the chance, but Cerberus' strength outweighs all three of the heroes. Cerberus leaps high into the air crashes onto the ground, knocking Auron off his feet, Cerberus spins to face the other two heroes, knocking Auron into a wall in the process. The dog bits at Xion, but Roxas thinks fast and Lodges his keyblade into the mouth of the middle head, this angers Cerberus. The dog shakes around and knocks Roxas into the cave wall.. Cerberus leaps high into the air and comes crashing down yet again, causing a multitude of large rocks to fall from the ceiling, one of which falls to where Roxas lies.
"Roxas! Watch out!" Xion yells, Running towards her friend, she pushes him out of the way as the boiler lands on her. When Roxas gets up, he sees his close friend, unmoving on the ground. Before he can take action, Cerberus is already in front of him and headbutts Roxas into a wall. Roxas, tired, and too hurt to go on, slowly closes his eyes
"Don't give up!" A high-pitched voice says, slashing through the rock that landed on Xion. The voice came from a small creature in an organization XIII coat, It was half the height of Roxas and Xion, and it had two large circular ears, and wielded a golden keyblade that resembled Roxas and Xion's Keyblades. The creature hopped around the room with incredible speed, dodging any and all attacks Cerberus threw at it. The creature in the coat began to swing its keyblade around rapidly, striking Cerberus many times, and shooting light pearls at the dog, hurting the beast. Finally, the creature gathered a large amount of light, and shot it at Xion, before quickly dashing away, out of sight. As the light enveloped Xion, Her eyes opened and leaped into the air, drawing her keyblade, she mustered all the energy she had and focused it into one spell
"BLIZZARD!" Xion shouted with ferocity, and from her keyblade came a large shard of ice that hit Cerberus clean in the head, knocking it out cold. Finally, with what little energy she had left, Xion healed Roxas and Auron, and the three escaped the cave of the dead and closed the door so they wouldn't be followed.
Roxas and Xion collapsed onto the floor, their eyes closed, they focused on their breathing, trying to get their energy back. Once the two recovered they got back up, only to notice something was off
"Where did Auron go?" Xion asked with concern.
"I don't know, but I'm sure he can handle himself for now. We should check on meg and Hercules." Roxas says. Xion nodded in agreement and the two climbed the stairs to Olympus. The two make their way up the stairs and feast their eyes on the Olympus Coliseum.
"This brings back memories," Roxas says, staring at the large statues
"Good memories?" Xion says, looking towards Roxas
"Well uh- they're certainly memories" Roxas jokingly. The two laugh before walking to the entrance of the coliseum. Before they reach it, however, the doors open, revealing Hercules on the other side, looking incredibly tired. He sees Roxas and Xion and for a moment, seemingly recognizes them, before realizing they're not Sora.
"Hello there, who are you two?" Hercules asks, his expression changing to look more alive.
"I'm Roxas, and she's my friend, Xion. You probably don't know me directly, but Phil definitely put me through the wringer."
"Hmm, not that you mention it, I think Phil mentioned you a couple of times. I've heard you're a tough one huh? Maybe even as strong as Sora." Hercules says, Pointing towards the Tournament leaderboards, the top of each one having Sora's name written on it.
"What brings you two here anyway?" Hercules asks.
"Well, we ran into some trouble with Hades down in the underworld. We tried to teach him a lesson, but the underworld drains us of most of our power. Do you have any ideas on what we can do?" Xion asks. Hercules thinks for a minute, before giving them their solution
"Well, there is a stone that guards against the Underworld's curse. The gods on Mount Olympus use it whenever they have to go down there. I can let you guys borrow it if you'd like." Hercules offers.
"That would be amazing!" Roxas says with delight.
"Alright. It'll be some time before I get back though. Why don't you guys train with Phil while I'm gone?" Hercules offers. The two think on it for a second and decide it wouldn't hurt to get some training in after everything they just went through. Hercules heads off to the peak of Mount Olympus, while Roxas and Xion go to meet Phil.
The two enter the Coliseum Arena and see Phil messing with some equipment. He hears their footsteps and mistakes them for Hercules.
"You better rest for tomorrow's match! Nobody's gonna pay to watcha warn-out hero, Capiche? Remember what I told you? Victory in the games comes down to two simple words: Eat, Bathe, Sleep." Roxas and Xion can't help but laugh The satyr gets confused and angry and the laughing and turns around, only for his anger to turn to surprise
"Hey, if it ain't the junior hero! Where have you been? I haven't seen you in months! And who's this girlfriend of yours?" Phil asks. Roxas nor Xion completely understand what Phil meant by that, so they just brushed it off.
"We've just been busy, that's all. And this is my close friend, Xion." Phil isn't fully convinced but keeps listening. "We have a score to settle with Hades, would you mind maybe giving us some training?" Phil begins to laugh for a moment before settling down
" . . . Wait you're serious?" Xion and Roxas nod. Phil sighs before he speaks again. "You two got nerves, I like that. Alright. Better get cracking! It's time for some god-killing training. Phil has the two undergo ruthless training, fighting through waves of heartless without breaks, destroying the fighting dummies within an incredibly fast timeframe by the end of it, they're exhausted but they completed everything he threw at them. The two are catching their breath and resting after their training, when Hercules comes back from Olympus, though he's a little less than pleased.
"What's wrong?" Roxas asks Hercules. Hercules pauses for a moment, before telling them the bad news.
"The Olympus Stone. It's gone." Hercules says.
"Gone? What do you mean gone?" Xion asks worryingly
"I mean somebody stole it," Hercules says, his tone growing more serious.
"What!? Who stole it?" Xion asks
"We don't have any names, and nobody saw what they looked like, They wore a large black coat, and the hood covered their face. Roxas and Xion gasped and turn to each other
"You don't think he actually pulled that off do you?" Roxas asked?
"Huh? Do you two know something?" Hercules asks. The two turn to Hercules and explain
"Yeah. We know a few people who wear those kinds of outfits, and we saw one of them recently, his name is Demyx." Xion explained to Hercules.
"Demyx huh? Alright. If you two find Demyx and get that stone back, feel free to borrow it for as long as you'd like." Hercules said
"Wait, what about you? Aren't you gonna look for it?" Xion asked confused.
"I will, I just need to find Meg first. I haven't seen her anywhere." Hercules said before laughter erupted from behind them. The three looked at the source of the laughter and found the gray-skinned man himself, Hades.
"What's Wrong your Hero-ness? You know, I thought staying in perfect shape was part of the hero job description. . ." Hades said, so nonchalantly you'd think he was trying to sell you something.
"What do you want Hades?" Hercules said, getting right to the point.
"Oh well you see, it seems your dear, sweet little Nutmeg went and got herself lost in the Underworld," Hades said, laughing
"You kidnapped her didn't you!?" Xion said drawing her keyblade, Roxas following suit.
"Eh. Kidnapping, getting lost. Why get caught up in all the details?" Hades said, not dropping his nonchalant attitude for even a second. Hercules whistles and from the sky comes his steed, Pegasus. He's about to get on when Hades speaks up
"Oh hold on, you can't leave just yet. You have an important match today, A match against the bloodthirsty Hydra! If you don't stick around who knows what kind of "accidents" might happen?" Hades says, a grin growing larger on his face.
"Yeah, Accidents you cause," Roxas says, growing angrier towards to the god of the dead. Hades only laughs as he disappears into a cloud of smoke, returning to the realm from which he came. The three stand in silence for a moment, before Xion speaks up.
"Hercules, you stay here and prepare for the Hydra. We'll go to the Underworld, Get the stone, and save Meg." Xion says, her determination unwavering.
"Thank you," Hercules says, sitting in the stands, getting what little rest he can before the Hydra attacks. While Roxas and Xion set off. The two reach the Underworld entrance and have to choose between two paths.
"Which way do we go?" Xion asked Roxas.
"Going to fight Hades without the Olympus Stone would be a death sentence. We have to find Demyx first." Roxas states
"And since we last saw him running away from Hades Lair. . ." Xion thinks of when they last saw him "He must have taken the other path." Xion concludes. The two move to the new area.
Meanwhile, back at the Olympus Coliseum, Hercules' match against the Hydra has already ended, the beast lays still, lifeless. The crowd cheers Hercules on, but he only has one thing left on his mind, saving Meg.
Roxas and Xion navigate through the underworld caverns. They slice and dice through the myriad of heartless until they find themselves exactly who they're looking for. They approach Demyx, who stands alone in the large room before he finally notices them
"Huh?" Demyx turns around. "Wait a second. . . Demyx takes off his hood and puts his hand to his chin as if he's thinking really hard. "Roxas?"
"Oh wow, you remember my name, I'm so flattered," Roxas says, unable to take Demyx seriously no matter the scenario.
"Hmm, let's see here. . ." Demyx pulls out a sheet of paper from his pocket "If the subjects fail to go peacefully, use aggression to liberate them of their nonexistence." Demyx says slowly reading off of the paper. "Geeze did they pick the wrong guy for this one."
"Wow, did Saix have to write down those instructions word for word just for you? That's low, even for you Demyx." Xion says, taking a jab at him herself.
"Who're you?" Demyx asked. Roxas and Xion are stunned, unable to tell if that was an actual joke, or if Demyx was being completely serious.
"Geeze how lazy were you? Didn't even bother to remember my name." Xion said, almost offended by Demyx lack of care.
"Hey! I'm not lazy! Look, I got this shiny stone just today!" Demyx says, pulling out the Olympus stone
"So you did steal it!" Roxas says, not sure why he had any doubt in his mind.
"Are you calling me a thief? That's just plain rude." Demyx says, raising the stone to the air. The stone glows with a bright golden gleam, suddenly, Demyx is engulfed in a golden aura. "Alright, now let's have some fun!" Demyx says playfully, summoning his Sitar
"Dance Water Dance!" Demyx shouts as he plays some sick riffs on his Sitar Suddenly, a multitude of water clones appear. This would be a major problem, but all the water clones seem to do is just play the sitar, making them easy pickings. Roxas and Xion take out the clones one by one which finally breaks Demyx out of his hydro shield, which protects him while the clones are active. Xion hits him in the stomach with her keyblade, and Demyx Jumps back and yells in pain
"OWE OWE OWE!" Demyx screeches as if that's the most painful experience he'd ever been in. Suddenly, He realized how bad of a position he's in, stuck in a corner, against two skilled keyblade wielders. "Ugh, c'mon Roxas, you should come back. Demyx says, tossing the Olympus stone to the ground before entering a corridor of darkness, and then quickly closing it.
"What did I say, not even a threat," Roxas says, half-jokingly. The two pick up the stone and hold it in their hands. The two raise their hands in unison to the air, and suddenly, they're engulfed in the same golden shower as Demyx was. They begin to feel the power come back to them.
"Ahhhh. . . That feels betters." Xion says stretching after being rejuvenated with so much energy.
"You can say that again," Roxas says, the red gemstone embedded in his necklace shimmering with a new sparkle.
"Guys! Remember? Meg needs your help!" Namine's voice chimes in. Roxas and Xion are snapped back to reality and run ahead. Remember what else they came here for. But they're stopped by that headache that comes and goes as it pleases
"The Olympus Stone isn't the only thing this world has to offer." The two turn around to see Demyx. "The shadows of members long gone still linger throughout the many worlds, this one included," Demyx says, though he sounds different now, he seems a lot less goofy than he had previously. "When you're traversing the worlds, be ready. They can strike whenever they please." Demyx says before disappearing into the corridor of darkness yet again.
"What was that about?" Xion says confused.
"I don't know, probably just nonsense. C'mon, let's save Meg." Roxas responds. The two open the large door ahead and find what had happened to meg. She's been trapped within the stone. And alone Keyhole kept her there. The two, knowing what to do, aimed their keyblades at the keyhole, and outshot a small beam of light from their blades. The stone cracked and crumbled and exploded, revealing Meg, alive and well, but tied in a bind. She fell down a newly created hole, that lays where the large rock pillar once stood. Roxas and Xion chase after her.
The three found themselves in a small arena. Inside the arena? Hades.
"Now THAT'S what I call a key. Thanks for the help kiddos! Now have a nice day." Hades said, disappearing into a cloud of smoke. The three were confused at first, but then laughter was heard from behind them
"Ehehehuaahahaha! What's wrong? Can't fight in the underworld?" The three turned to find Pete and a flock of hook-bats.
"Better think again!" Xion said as she and Roxas draw their keyblades. The two slash through the hook-bats with ease, before turning their attention to Pete. Pete tosses many explosive balls towards the two, but they dodge without effort and strike Pete with their keyblades, knocking him back.
"Why you-!? Get out of my way!" Pete shouts as he jumps in the air before slamming his fists into the ground, creating a shockwave. Roxas and Xion jump back and avoid the shockwave before charging at Pete. Pete puts his hands together and erects a red energy shield around himself, allowing him to block the attacks. He's knocked back a bit, but he's unharmed. "Why- if you wanna get past me, you're gonna need to hit a lot harder than that!". Suddenly, a familiar voice is heard from above
"Then we'll do just that!" Hercules says falling from the hole in the ceiling, and landing within the arena.
"Hercules! Take this!" Roxas shouts, pulling the Olympus stone from out of his pocket, and tossing it over to Hercules, who catches it. As he catches it, his body is enveloped with a golden aura. Hercules smiles, giving Roxas the signal to launch Pete in his direction. Roxas jumps over Pete before hitting his shield from behind, launching him to Hercules, who meets Pete's shield with his fists, Breaking the shield instantly.
The cat is no match for the two keyblade wielders and the demi-god. Pete takes a beating before realizing the trouble he got himself into and flees. Just when our heroes think they get a break, the cave beings to shake and rocks fall from above.
"The cave is collapsing! Let's get out here!" Hercules says. Roxas and Xion nod their heads, and the three free Meg from her binds before running to the Underworld entrance. The four make it to the entrance unscathed and find Phil running down the stairs in a panic.
"Herc! The Hydra! It's still alive!" The four gasp in shock, before joining Phil up the stairs to see for themselves. They reach the coliseum gates, or rather, where they once stood, and see the coliseum completely destroyed, as the Hydra stomps around, looking for anyone who may still be around.
"No. . ." Hercules falls to his knees "I failed them. I left this place unprotected and-" He's cut off my Meg, who embraces him and holds him close
"It's not your fault. There's nothing we could have done." Meg says to Hercules. The hydra finally notices the heroes and begins to approach. "But we can do something now," Meg says, turning Herc's head to look towards her. Hercules nods his head and gets up from the ground. The Hydra still approaching.
"We can deal with the Hydra, you should get everyone else to safety!" Roxas says, drawing his keyblade as the Hydra gets closer.
"All right, good luck you two," Hercules says, Running towards the destroyed Coliseum. The hydra tries to cut him off but it's met with Roxas and Xion's keyblades. The Hydra swings its large tail around and attempts to use it to trip the heroes. Roxas and Xion leap in the air and dodge the attack. Xion Hits the hydra over the head with her keyblade, stunning it long enough for Roxas to slash straight through its neck, destroying the head in a puff of purple smoke.
The headless neck digs deep into the ground. Suddenly three new Hydra heads sprout from the ground behind Roxas and Xion. The two jump back and avoid the multitude of attacks the Hydra heads throw at them when they hear a voice.
"Roxas! Xion! Get up on the Hydra's back!" It's Phil! He's standing on some Rubble and pointing towards the Hydra's back. The two nod their heads and leap onto it. Phil picks up one of the large training dummies and tosses it towards them. Roxas hits it with his keyblade, launching it into the air, and jumping off the Hydra's back, as Xion leaps into the air and hits the training dummy from above, smacking it into the Hydra's spine area. The three Hydra heads writhe in pain before falling to the ground. Making use of this opportunity, the two keyblade wielders attack the heads with full force, striking at them over and over again until the three heads are decapitated from the necks.
The necks go back into the ground and the Hydra body moves back into it's original position, suddenly more necks and heads sprout from the body, leaving a total of 7 heads. The heads strike the earth many times, attempting to grasp Roxas and Xion in their fanged Maws, but the two jump back and dodge the attacks. Once the Hydra stopped attacking, Xion casts a few spells to distract them, while Roxas climbed onto its neck and slashing at the heads from above.
The Hydra doesn't take too kindly to this and shakes Roxas off. Before spewing fire at the two keyblade wielders. But the two barely dodge all the fire, before slashing at the Hydra's heads yet again. Suddenly, The two hear a neigh from the skies, Pegasus flies towards the ground, and the two jump in the air and land on pegasus, just barely dodging a bite from the hydra. Pegasus weaves in and out between the hydra heads, allowing Roxas and Xion to slash and decapitate the Hydra. Suddenly the three hear Meg's voice from behind some cover.
"Quick! Use fire!" Meg says, pointing at the decapitated necks of the Hydra. Roxas and Xion nod their heads and cast a multitude of Fire spells. The Hydra is engulfed in flames, its body writing in pain before collapsing and disappearing in a cloud of ash. Once the dust settled, Everyone met back up with Hercules.
"Everyones safe. Looks like there are few casualties." Hercules said, before staring off at the coliseum in rubble. "There won't be any more games for a while,".
"Yeah. But don't worry. The coliseum can be rebuilt." Roxas says, lifting Hercules' spirits.
"Yeah! Now you can get some rest too." Xion adds on
"Well, I don't know about that. . ." Hercules says jokingly. Everyone laughs for a second before Meg chimes in.
"Don't worry, I'll take care of wonderboy here. Besides. . ." Meg looks up into the sky. "It looks like you two have other things to get to." everyone looks up at the sky and sees a large keyhole shining brightly. Xion and Roxas nod their heads and instinctively raise them to face the keyhole. Large beams of light shoot out from their keyblades, unlocking a new path to a new world.
"Alright. We should get going. We'll come back eventually" Roxas says, the two waving their hands in farewell
"Good! I'll have more training ready when you get back!" The five laugh before Roxas and Xion disappear in a flash of light and reappear at the Gummi ship.
"You two were there for a while. I thought you would be there forever." Namine says jokingly. The three laugh a little before Namine speaks up again. "Jokes aside, we have a problem". She motions them towards the terminal. The three make their way to the terminal and read the alert.
"It's an SOS from a distant world," Namine explains.
"It's really far too, farther than Yen Sid's tower. Do you think we'll make it in time?" Xion asks
"All we can do is try," Roxas says, his voice filled with determination. The three get into their seats and blast off to the world in distress. After the ship reaches max speed. Namine Activates the autopilot and she turns to talk to Roxas and Xion
"This may take a while. Are you two going to spar?" Namine asks
"Actually, I wanted to ask something," Roxas responded. "You see, back when we were a part of Organization thirteen, Me and Xion would ask this kind of questions to Axel whenever we were hanging out at the clock tower." Roxas goes on. "I was wondering if you wouldn't mind doing the same." Roxas finished.
"Of course. Ask away and I'll tell you what I know." Namine tilts her head a bit and gives Roxas and Xion a smile.
"Well, we wanted to know, what is a "girlfriend"? Is it different from a normal friend?" Xion asked. Namine chuckles a bit before responding with another question.
"You two know of the multiple types of love right?" Roxas and Xion nod their heads. "Well, sometimes when people have a mutual feeling of romantic love for each other, they'll enter a new form of relationship. When in this romantic relationship, these people will often refer to each other as their boyfriend or girlfriend." Namine continues to explain. "A romantic relation and a platonic relationship aren't the same, but they share many qualities. But when people are in a romantic relationship, they're both friends with their romantic partner and lovers." Namine finishes explaining.
Roxas and Xion give Namine a look of confusion and understanding. They don't completely understand everything Namine said. "I guess it's hard to explain. Maybe one day you two will learn firsthand what it means. Then it won't be so confusing" Namine says, giving them a smile, to which the two smile back before Namine turns to face the cockpit window yet again. While she watches the stars in the sky, Roxas and Xion are deep in thought.
What does it mean to feel romantic love? Can they even have such feelings? They're nobodies after all. Had they already experienced such a feeling, and just didn't know it? The thoughts plagued their mind for a while before they set them aside. Whatever feelings they've experienced without hearts. They know one thing. The strength of bonds, no matter what type, gives them the strength to keep going.
