The gummi ship slows to a halt as it arrives at the set destination. Roxas, Xion, and Namine look outside the cockpit window to get a better look.
"Holloween town huh? This might be frightening," says Xion.
"Last time I visited this place they made a scarecrow that looked like me, which I didn't really understand what that was supposed to mean," Roxas says, remembering his past experiences in the world.
"Whatever it means. It's best you two be cautious, and try to avoid using drive forms again." Name requests. The two nod before grabbing any necessary supplies they may need before descending to the strange world. Upon descending to the world below, Roxas and Xion noticed a change in their appearance. Roxas' clothes were a tad torn up, he had a strange mask stapped on his forehead, and a pair of small black wings on his back. Xion resembled a zombie, with her skin being a blue/grey tone, except for a few patches that are wildly different colors, such as green or purple, that look almost stitched together.
"Namine, I assume you did this?" Xion asked.
"Yes, I thought it would help you two blend in more to the general area if you looked more like monsters," Namine explained within their minds. Roxas and Xion look around and notice strange lights leading into Guillotine Square.
"Strange, I don't remember those being here," Roxas says.
"Let's go take a look," Xion suggests the two following the trail of lights. Upon reaching Guillotine square they find even more of these lights. Suddenly, from the distance, they hear the sound of jingle bells coming from the sky. They look up to see a skeletal male in some sort of flying sled, being steered by three skeletal reindeer. The sled descends and rides down the shoddily-made wooden runway in the center of guillotine square. The skeleton notices the two and waves
"Hello, you two! I'm Jack, Jack Skellington! I don't think I've seen you before, are you both newly dead?" Asks Jack. The two keyblade wielders look at each other and decide to roll with it.
"Yeah, you could say that." Says Roxas. Jack crouches down to their height and is able to get a better look at the two.
"Wait a second! I remember you!" The skeleton says, looking at Roxas "You were that man in the black coat I saw! Did you see the scarecrow of you in guillotine square? Everyone thought it was certainly spooky," said the skeleton.
"That explains the scarecrow. Still, you newlyweds, er- deads should stay on your toes." Says Namine in their heads.
"Oh uh- yeah. I thought it was cool." Said Roxas, choosing not to offend the spooky/scary skeleton just inches away from him.
"Great! Consider it an early Christmas gift!" Says the skeleton. The two look at the skeleton with confusion, the organization never celebrated holidays, so their knowledge of such things was basically nonexistent. "Ah, forgive me. I've just been in the Christmas mood. You see, I'm running the show again this year but I need Sandy Claws' blessing, so I'm off to Christmas Town." says the skeleton. This doesn't really explain what exactly Christmas is to Roxas and Xion, but they choose not to question it.
"But first! We must visit Sally! She's working on something no self-respecting Santa Claus can do without. Come along I'll show you!" says the skeleton, gesturing the two to follow him. Having no leads on where to unlock the next path to the next world, they choose to follow. They follow Jack to a house that is within some sort of bunker, the three see three small children running out of the house, giggling as they run. Once they get inside, they see the results of some sort of prank gone wrong, A mad doctor slams his fist against a table, staring at some sort of machine, with smoke spewing out from it.
"Dr. Finklestein! Have you seen Sally?" Asked the skeleton.
"Can't you see I'm busy!" the mad doctor says angrily as he looks back at his experiment. A door from within the bunker opens and out comes a girl in a dress made of rags, and long red hair.
"Sally! Did you finish it? Asked the skeleton with excitement. I want to show my friends over here."
"I'm sorry Jack. . .I need a little bit more time," said Sally depressingly.
"Oh. Well, that's all right. Just as long as it's ready for Christmas!" the skeleton says. He pats her on her shoulder before turning to the exit.
"But. . . Jack. . ." Sally says but is cut off by the skeleton.
"Sorry, I'd best be off. I've got to go get Sandy Claws, right away! Wonderful to see you again! Goodbye for now!" said Jack, before leaving the room. Sally turns towards Roxas and Xion and asks them a question.
"Hello. . . What are you're names?" Asked Sally
"I'm Roxas!"
"I'm Xion."
"Could you two go with him? I'm afraid something terrible will happen if jack goes through with this." Sally requested. The two could sense her deep admiration and care for Jack, and they couldn't find it in themselves to say now. Suddenly, however, Jack returns.
"Hey, are those strange fellows in the town square with you? What did Sora call them again. . . Heartless?"
"No, they're not with us," Xion explained.
"But we can get rid of them!" Roxas exclaims.
"Great, let's go." The skeleton says, and the three exit the bunker. The three see many heartless within the town square. Roxas and Xion materialize their keyblade and attack the heartless, while Jack is able to cast multiple spells from a distance. It takes some time but they get rid of all the heartless in the immediate area. "Say, those keyblades of yours look an awful lot like my friend Sora's, do you know him?" Asks Jack
"Actually, we do. We're friends of his." Xion says, that white-lie becoming something they say quite often.
"Great! You two will make perfect bodyguards for sandy claws!" says the skeleton. At least now they don't need an excuse to follow him. "Follow me, Christmas town is this way!" Jack says, motioning them to follow him. Eventually, the three make their way to a part of the forest, where many trees form to make a semi-circle, each having their own strange engraving, in the middle of this semicircle is a single tree with an engraving. . . of another tree. This tree however has a star on the top and many strange decorations.
"Here it is! The door to Christmas Town." The skeleton says to Xion and Roxas. "The spooks of Halloween can get so tiresome year after year. I wanted something new. That's when I found this!". Roxas and Xion stare at the strange tree, not really seeing the appeal in Christmas Town, though they hadn't quite seen it yet. "Beyond this door lies a world the likes of which you've never seen! At first I couldn't believe my eyes! Everything was so fresh and exciting!" Jack says as he opens the door and motions them to look in. Inside the tree is a hollow tree, who could have guessed. But it doesn't end at the stump, the hole seems to go on forever. Suddenly Roxas loses his balance as he tries to get a closer look, causing him to fall in.
"Roxas!" Xion grabs his hand, but the sudden increase of force pulls her down and into the hole with him. The two scream as they fall into the abyss. However, the two suddenly see a light. They get closer and closer. Roxas is spewed out of another tree and lands on the cold, but soft snow. Roxas rolls over, and looks at the blue stary sky, much more pleasant than the skies of Halloween town. His star-gazing is interrupted by Xion, who is also spewed out of the tree and lands right on Roxas.
"Ow!" Roxas yelped
"Roxas! Are you okay!?" Xion checks to make sure Roxas isn't hurt but notices something about his clothes, and hers as well. "Roxas. Our clothes. . ." Roxas looks at Xion and notices what she means. It seems Namine has changed their clothes again to fit this part of the world. Roxas wore a mostly red outfit. The only non-red parts being some silver streaks on his shoes, a black belt that accentuates his waste worn over his large coat, some white fuzz that lines the outer edges of his coat, and a strange cap, that also has some white fuzz on the bottom and end. Xion wore a similar outfit, with some differences. She wore a red dress with long sleeves, made of the same material as Roxas's coat, instead of a black belt, a green ribbon tied to make a bow was wrapped around her waist, and she wore long fuzzy stockings that end at her thighs so that none of her bare skin is in direct contact with the cold snow.
"Sorry for the sudden change in appearance guys. Christmas Town is Vastly different. Aside from having to look like the residents of this area, I also had to make it so you two stayed warm in the winter weather." Explained Namine within their minds.
"Thanks, Namine, we owe you one," Roxas responds in his head. As communications Cut off, Roxas speaks again. "Now, Xion. Could you please get off me?"
"Oh! Sorry!" Says Xion, slightly flustered. After getting off of Roxas and helping him back up to his feet, the two suddenly catch a glimpse of Christmas Town
"Woah. . ." Roxas says, he and Xion in awe at the sight of the town. The town's windows glow a bright yellow, each housing having a chimney, from which smoke comes forth. Around the town are snowy hills with many decorated trees similar to that of the one on the door to Christmas Town. The two are snapped back to reality by the sound of Jack Skellington approaching from behind.
"Woah! Nice Sandy Claws outfits! You two are looking more alive than ever!" Says Jack
"Thanks," Xion says with a smile
"So, where's Sandy Claws?" Asks Roxas
"He's in that big building down there, his workshop," Jack says, pointing at the large building near the back of the town. "Come on Roxas, Xion. Follow me." the three began to walk down Yuletide hill towards Christmas Town. Upon making it to Christmas town they find the whole place is decorated like the trees on the hills. Many beautiful colorful lights line the trees and buildings, and many decoration poles, shaped like canes with white and red stripes are placed throughout the town, with miniature versions hanging from some of the trees. However, all is not peaceful in Christmas Town, as they enter the center square, multiple heartless appear and attack the three "En Garde, my loyal bodyguards!" Says Jack Skellington as they collectively engage the heartless in combat. The three attack the heartless with a barrage of keyblade strikes and spells, slowly clearing Christmas town of heartless. Once there's not a single heartless in sight, the three rush to Sandy Claws's workshop.
Upon entering the shop the three find themselves in an entryway that leads to a sort of living room, with a sofa facing a fireplace. On the sofa is a large man, in an outfit similar to that of Xion and Roxas, he seems to be going over a long list, with many names on it. He notices the three entering the room and welcomes them.
"Well, hello everyone." says the jolly old man. "Did you come to see if you're on my nice list?" asked the old man. Roxas and Xion didn't quite understand what he meant by "Nice list". What's the point of keeping track of those who are bad and good? Certainly, that could be something you can keep track of in your head? But, out of curiosity, the two decide to see for themselves, seeing no harm in checking.
"Uh- sure." Says Roxas
"What are your names?" Asks the jolly fellow.
"Roxas."
"Xion."
"Hmm. . .Let's see. . . Roxas and Xion. . ." After some time checking his list, the man looks up at the two. "Well, this is strange. It seems neither of you two are on my list. That hasn't happened in quite a long time. . ." Says the man, beginning to think about the last time this happened.
"Oh, that's unfortunate." Says Xion, a tad disappointed.
"What about me Sandy Claws? What list am I on? I'm Jack!" Santa Clause jumps back in astonishment
"Jack Skellington!?" Says Santa. Suddenly a loud crash is heard from the room next door. Santa gets up from his seat and goes to check "What mess did you bring this time?" asks Santa. Roxas and Xion turn to Jack in confusion
"This time?" Xion asks
"It's a long story." Says the skeleton. The three go after Santa to see what the commotion was. In the next room, they find a large machine with conveyor belts, likely used to transport the gifts Santa makes. Suddenly, they hear voices from the distance.
"Why do we have to hide?" says a young raspy voice
"Silence." says the commanding voice of a woman. "Jack brought those two fools with him. Now we can take them all out at once."
"What do you want us to do?" said a high-pitched voice.
"Who's there!?" Yells Santa Clause.
"Busted!" Three voices say in unison, the commanding voice no longer present. Suddenly, a window shatters into many pieces, as a bear trap is thrown out of it. Jack gasps as he sees three small children, the same ones that ran out of Dr. Finklesteins lab, jumping through the window to the outside town square of Christmas Town.
"It's Lock, Shock, and Barrel!" Jack Exclaims
"Not those three. . ." Says Santa Clause
"I assure you, they're not with us," Jack explains to Santa.
"Well, whatever the case, they've been quite naughty. Catch them and bring them back here. They're going to get a lecture." Says Santa Clause. Jack hesitates to say something, seeing Santa's already in a bad mood but decides to say it anyway.
"Uh. . . Mr. Claws?" Jack asks to get his attention. "I wanted to talk to you about Christmas first." Jack is interrupted however
"It'll have to wait," Says Santa Clause, frustrated. "I need to see how things are progressing in my workshop," Santa says to Jack. Jack stares off for a moment, before being snapped back to reality.
"Jack! We need to catch those three!" Xion exclaims, as she and Roxas being running off to find them, and Jack follows suit after a moment. Upon exiting the workshop, the three find footprints leading from the workshop, all the way back up Yuletide hill. The three run in the path made by the footsteps, which obviously lead to Lock, Shock, and Barrel.
The footsteps take them all the way back to outside Halloween Town, but instead of leading to Guillotine square, the footsteps lead to a strange-shaped hill in the distance. Once they reach the hill, the three find Lock, Shock, and Barrel, standing in front of a large heartless. It resembles a strange machine, with a cage hanging from its small torso. The three turn around to see Jack, Roxas, and Xion. They Jump into the cage and close the gate. Suddenly, the heartless grabs the cage and opens the gate, shaking it until Barrel falls into its mouth, seemingly consuming him. The heartless is shrouded in a thick purple fire, before slashing at the three with its mighty claws. The three heroes dodge the attack just in time. The heartless does it again and knocks jack into the stone wall.
Roxas takes advantage of the distraction and slashes away at the heartless from behind. The heartless turns to face Roxas and chomps at him, greatly injuring him, and causing him to retreat a little in order to heal. The heartless chases after Roxas, but Xion attempts to distract it by casting a multitude of thunder spells. The heartless begins to choke after the sudden shock by Xion and Spits Barrel out and back into the cage. Leaving the heartless vulnerable, Xion and Jack prepare to attack, but the heartless spins around and knocks them away, before attempting to consume another one of the children, Roxas reacts quickly and Jumps into the Heartless's mouth and attacking from within.
Eventually, Roxas jumps out of the stunned heartless, and the three attack it in unison. Eventually the heartless recovers and flies well into the air, before consuming Shock. The heartless descends and spins around with its claws in a certain formation to deal more damage to the three, but the heroes see the attack coming from a mile away and dodge it with ease. The heartless flies into the air and spins around yet again, spewing fire around the area, but Roxas and Xion have a plan, Roxas boost Xion into the air with his keyblade, giving her enough height to attack the heartless. The heartless falls to the ground before spewing out shock and consuming Lock.
The heartless raises its hands to the hair and forms massive balls of fire, which it throws to at the heroes. The three run in separate directions, dodging the attack and forcing the heartless to focus on one of them at a time. The heartless throws a fireball at Roxas, but Roxas jumps over it and begins to run at the heartless. It forms another one and Xion runs from behind to strike it, but it turns around and throws it, landing a direct hit and knocking her back into a wall. The heartless is about to throw another one at Xion when Roxas runs as fast as he can to her aid. The heartless throws a fireball and Roxas, just barely making it, Parries the fireball with his keyblade, and knocking it back into the heartless. Roxas helps Xion up and the two perform a coordinated strike, Roxas slashing at the heartless multiple times, before jumping back, giving enough space for Xion to cast an incredibly powerful Blizzard spell.
Finally, the heartless, enraged, gets back up and consumes all three of the children. Enshrouding itself in green fire. It attacks with everything it's used before, but the increase in power comes too late, as the three are able to dodge the oncoming attacks and hit the heartless with a barrage of tactical strikes, finally, Roxas knocks the heartless back into a corner, as Xion and Jack finish it off with a Blizzard and Thunder spell in unison.
With the heartless destroyed Lock, Shock and barrel emerge from the wreckage. Barrel laughs as if it were all a game
"That was fun!" Says Lock. The three jump onto the wall behind them
"Let's go see if Mr. Oogie's ready!" Shock says, as the three jump to the other side of the wall and begin running.
"Oogie!?" Jack says with surprise. He turns around to face Roxas and Xion. "Be ready for trouble fellows, Oogie Boogie is one tough bug to squash," Jack warned. The three leave the hillside, attempting to follow Lock, Shock, and Barrel when they're approached by Sally.
"What's wrong, Sally?" Asked Jack.
"It's Oogie Jack! He kidnapped Santa Claus! He's headed for Christmas Town" Sally exclaims. The three are taken aback by the sudden turn of events.
"Quick Jack! We have to hurry!" Roxas says with the utmost seriousness. The four rush off to Christmas Town, and once they arrive at Yuletide hill, they already see smoke coming from the broken window in Santa's shop. They continue to hurry to Santa's aid, hoping the smoke doesn't indicate that they're too late. The four arrive at the toy factory and see that Oogie's done a bit of redecorating. The whole place has been altered to resemble a machine you'd find in Halloween town, though they bet there's more to it than just visual changes. Suddenly, Oogie Boogie jumps to their level and pushes Sally to the ground below as he jumps to a platform near the machine.
"Oogie Boogie!" says Jack.
"Ehehahahaha! You and I have a score to settle, Jack! Same goes for. . ." Oogie Boogie squints at Roxas and Xion before speaking. "Wait a minute, you're not that brat Sora! Who are you two!?"
"The Name's Roxas, and don't forget it! What did you do to Santa Clause!?" Roxas Asks.
"Who?" It seems like Oogie doesn't even know who he kidnapped, He jumps to the ground and lands next to Santa. "And why is this Rolly polly still here? Time to go grandpa!" says Oogie, about grabbing Santa and forcing him near the end of one of the machines. Suddenly, a leg is thrown in front of Oogie. "Eh-?: the seemingly random leg distracts Oogie long enough for Santa clause to jump off the conveyor belt and run to the corner of the room, where Sally stands, one leg short. Oogie growls and begins to chase after Santa, but Jack, Roxas, and Xion jump down in front of him and block his way. "Why, you-!"
Oogie turns around and jumps onto the platform above. Roxas, Xion, and Jack jump on the conveyor belt below him. "Ehehahahahaha!" Oogie slams his hand on a button, causing walls to erect on the sides of the conveyor belts, and the belts start moving backwards. The three turn to see spike walls being erected near the back ends of the conveyors. The three run to stop themselves from certain doom, but Oogie has other plans for them. Boxes with skulls drawn on them and black bows tied around them are slowly spewed onto the conveyor belt, causing Roxas to trip. This backfires, however, as Xion suddenly gets an idea. Xion approaches one of the boxes and slams it with her Keyblade, knocking it into the air and hitting Oogie Boogie's glass platform.
"Roxas! A little help?" Xion says to Roxas, Roxas sees her idea and rolls with it, the two slamming box after box into Oogie's platform. Oogie, seeing the glass below him begin to crack, comes up with a new strategy. He hits an orange button on his platform and from the ceiling, a press emerges, however instead of some sort of Hydraulic press- the end is covered with some time of boxing glove, Oogie's plan becomes even more clear as the press slams to the ground, forcing the three to dodge around while throwing boxes at Oogie Boogie. His new plan barely changes anything, however, as Roxas and Xion are able to break the glass platform and Oogie falls to the ground below. The three wail on him with every attack they have, and Oogie, seeing the trouble he's in, jumps back onto another platform, this time to the left. However, the three are unable to reach the conveyor over there due to the walls.
"Hey Xion, got any ideas?" Roxas asks. Xion looks at the machine and notices how the lights around the holes in it change color every now and then. Going from all red to having one be red, while two are changed to be outlined in blue, Suddenly Xion comes to a realization.
"Quick, Roxas! Jump into the hole when the middle and left ones are blue!" Xion exclaims.
"What!?" Roxas acts as if it's a suicide plan
"Just do it!" Xion shouts, absolutely sure this will work. The three wait and when the left and middle holes are outlined in blue, they jump in, and are transported from the middle conveyor to the left one. "It worked!" Says Xion.
"Why you little-" Says Oogie Boogie, who slams another button. While presents are still emerging from the holes, now strange purple bags are as well. When Roxas hits one, a heartless emerges. It's about to attack Roxas when It's grabbed by the long arms of Jack Skellington, who throws it into the spikes behind them.
"I'll deal with the heartless. You two take care of Oogie Boogie!" Exclaims the skeleton. The two nod and continue to nock presents into the platform. Oogie tries everything at his disposal to stop this, slamming the press down, throwing explosive gifts from above, but it barely affects the three who, with the help of each other, dodge the attacks with little effort.
Eventually, The platform breaks yet again and Oogie falls to the ground. The three do everything they can against the bug-filled burlap sack of a monster, and he begins to show visible signs of wear and tear, but he jumps onto one last platform to the far right. The last one. The three make their way over there, and when they do Oogie Boogie presses another button, turning all the lights red on the machine, and no more boxes spew out from the holes, only heartless bags. Oogie Boogie begins to throw everything he has at them, thunder raining from above, the boxing glove press, explosive boxes. Wave after wave of attacks come and go, and the heroes being to get exhausted.
"Xion! Can you think of something!?" Roxas asks desperately.
"I'm trying!" Xion yells, she looks around, desperately for anything they can use.
"Watch out!" Jack suddenly yells, grabbing the two of them and pulling them back, just barely in time to dodge a stomp from the press. Xion notices the press rising back into the air, preparing for another smashing when an idea pops into her head.
"Roxas, boost me!" she yells, pointing to the press. Roxas doesn't understand what she's thinking but does it anyways. Xion lands on his keyblade and Roxas pushes her with all his might just as the fist slams to the ground. Xion grabs onto the pole of the press and spins around wildly, trying to get a grip on the surprisingly slippery pole. Eventually, the press rises, and Oogie realizes what Xion is up to, but it's too late. She jumps from the press and over to Oogie Boogie, she smacks him twice with her keyblade before Oogie Boogie tries to push her off, but she jumps over and hits him from behind, knocking him over the edge and onto the conveyors below. She jumps from above and thrusts her blade downward, and pierce Oogie Boogie's Burlap sack of a body. Oogie tries to retaliate but is blind-sided by Roxas slashing at him as well.
Oogie Boogie stands up and throws the two back, but things suddenly stop. Oogie looks to his sides and sees the holes in his sack, and numerous bugs spewing out. He tries to plug the holes with his hands but it doesn't work, and Oogie slowly dies again as his body deflates and the bugs flee from his body. Once they're all gone, there's nothing but an empty burlap sack left behind.
"Well, that was gross," Xion commented
"You can say that again," Roxas adds on. The three look around and see Sally and Santa are gone and assume they left to somewhere safe, and so the three exit Santa's workshop.
"Well, it looks like Christmas Town is safe once again." Says Xion
"Great! Now we can get down to business!" Says Jack.
"Uhh, jack. I think it might be better if you leave Christmas to Mr. Clause. You're already great at being scary anyways." Says Roxas. The three hear a voice behind them and turn around
"Jack. . ." Emerging from the workshop is Sally, carrying a red outfit. "Here, it's done," Sally says, presenting what looks like a Santa outfit.
"Wonderful!" Says Jack, smiling with glee. "Why, I love it! Thank you, Sally!"
"Jack. . .Do you really have to do this?" Sally asks As Jack attempts to put on the costume. Suddenly Santa also emerges from his workshop. Where did they go then if they weren't outside? It doesn't really matter, however, as Santa begins to talk to Jack Skellington
"Listen here, Jack Skellington. You saved me, and Christmas as well. And for that, I am very grateful. But please promise you won't cause any more trouble!" says Santa. "And about that suit. Don't think about ever taking over for me again."
"I just thought you could use a little help this year, Mr. Clause," Says Jack. "I thought you must be exhausted from all the preparations. And- I wouldn't mind a second chance to get this Christmas thing right." Santa sighs.
"Yes, being Santa Clause can be tiring." Santa admits "But let me tell you something, Jack. Seeing the happy faces of little children when they discover the presents I've brought them makes it all worthwhile, year after year after year. " The Jolly ol' fellow explains. And you, Jack- you love to make them gasp and see them shiver with fright. What if someone tried to take all of that away from you?" Asked Santa. Jack looks to the ground and frowns, realizing his mistake. "We both have very important jobs to do, Jack. Mine is to be the one who takes care of Christmas, and yours is to be the one who takes care of Halloween. So we each have to do the very best we can." says Santa. "After all, you're the face of Halloween, Mr. Jack Skellington, The Pumpkin King! The Knight of Nightmares!" Santa exclaims. Jack's mood lifts as he hears Santa reminding him of everything he's accomplished, and everything he's great at. "And even though you're fascinated with Christmas, Jack. . . Halloween is your true specialty. Don't you see? Children rely on both of us to dour jobs. Halloween needs your attention. . . and Christmas needs mine."
"You're right! I'm the master of terror! And if Halloween has become too routine, all I have to do is think of something new that'll really make them scream!" Jack Says, his voice filled with excitement. Suddenly, a voice is heard from the distance, as the mayor of Halloween town comes rushing down
"Jack! Jack! We need to prepare for next Halloween!. I can't do anything without your approval! " Says the mayor in his worried voice as usual.
"That's true." Says Jack, and He begins to walk off to Halloween town, with the mayor and Sally Runs to join them. Jack turns and says one last thing, "Goodbye you guys! We'll meet again!" Says the skeleton, who continues to walk off.
"Good luck, Jack Skellington." Says Santa Claus. Jack waves and continues to walk off.
"Well, there he goes." Says Xion.
"Yes, and I've got lots of names to check, and preparations to finish!" Says Santa "But first. . ." Santa turns to Roxas and Xion. "I must apologize. You two are Sora's Nobodies, correct?" Asks Santa.
"How did you know?" Asked Roxas.
"Oh, I just know these things." Says the Jolly man. "But I tend to have trouble remember the names of Nobodies, due to their lack of hearts, but you two, I will not forget! You two are always welcome in Christmas Town, no matter the time of year. And I'll put you two on the nice list as well."
"Thank you Mr. Clause! But, can you do us a favor?" Asks Xion
"Hmm? What is it?" Asks Santa
"Our friend, Namine. She's also a nobody and . . . we'd appreciate it if you added her to your list as well." Said Xion.
"Hohoho~, of course! I'll gladly do it for the saviors of Christmas Town!" Says Santa Clause
"Thank you!" the two say, smiling. Santa Clause turns to enter his workshop and says one last thing before leaving. "Oh, but if you do come back, make sure the elves don't trick you two into standing under the mistletoe together. They try that trick every year. . ." Says Santa, but before they can ask what that means, he's already entered his workshop. The two choose not to follow, he's already busy as is, and they begin to walk off.
"Christmas huh? I wonder if they celebrate it at Twilight Town." Roxas thinks out loud.
"Same, though I don't even know how to celebrate Christmas, or Halloween for that matter." Says Xion. "Maybe we can ask Namine."
Roxas giggles "I can hear her audibly sighing from here, she can already guess the number of questions we have." Xion giggles as well, and the two walk together and have a good laugh.
"You know, do you think Axel would like to spend Christmas with us?" Xion asks.
"I don't know. Why don't we ask him once all of this is over." Roxas responds. Xion smiles and nods her head.
"Yeah, that would be nice." She says. As the two reach the peak of Yuletide hill, they see an abnormal light in the sky. A large keyhole forms and the two instinctively pull out their keyblades. They raise them to the sky and aim them at the keyhole. Beams of light shoot out of their keyblades and pierce the keyhole, unlocking a path to a new world. The two disappear in a flash of light and immediately reappear in the gummi ship. Namine turns to face them.
"Okay, I hear you have a lot of questions. Let's get this over with." Namine says, ready for a bombardment of questions.
"How do you celebrate Christmas?" Xion asked. Namine explains the common practices of Christmas, from Stockings to the exchange of gifts between friends and family alike.
"What about Santa and the Naughty and Nice List?"
"Well, on the night before Christmas, Santa goes to every child's home and gives them a gift of their own from him. The nice kids get gifts, but the naughty kids get coal in their stockings." Namine explained.
"What about Halloween?" Roxas asked, "What's that all about." Namine tells the two about the tradition of Halloween, about dressing up in costumes and going from door to door, and being given candy in return. The two begin to hurl more questions at Namine, such as what stocking stuffers are, how Santa delivers a gift to every child before Christmas day, why is Halloween about spookiness. Namine sighs, as she finishings answering what she hopes, is the last question, but then Roxas asks one final one.
"Hey Namine, Santa warned us about standing under the mistletoe, what does that mean?"
"Oh, I don't know where it started, but it's become a tradition where if two people stand under the mistletoe, they have to kiss," Namine explains.
"Kiss? What's that?" Xion asks. Namine Sighs, every question she answers only seems to lead to another question.
"It's something two people in a romantic relationship do when they're dating." Says Namine.
"Okay but like, What is it? How do two people kiss?" Roxas asks. Namine sighs with a bit of frustration and snaps at Roxas
"I don't know Roxas, why don't you and Xion start dating and find out." Namine blurts out, before realizing what she just said. Roxas and Xion are taken aback by this comment. Their faces turn red from what Namine just said. The two glance at each other and their eyes lock, causing them to get even more flustered and look the opposite way. Namine's mood lifts, seeing the two in their flustered state and giggles before sitting back in the front seat of the cockpit before setting course for their next world, deciding to enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts.
