A corridor of darkness opens up in the vest badlands. From it, three figures emerge, Terra, Lea, and Isa.
"Are you sure this is the place?" asks Isa
"Positive." Lea looks around, seeing all the keyblades stuck into the ground
"Wow, you weren't kidding when you said it was a keyblade graveyard." Lea looks around at the sea of keyblades around him. "Geeze, how are we supposed to find your keyblade in this mess. . ." Terra closes his eyes, focusing on nothing else but his keyblade.
"I can feel it. . . in that direction." Terra points to a cliffside with an opening that leads to a cave. The three begin to walk towards the cave, walking by the keyblades of fallen wielders that came before them. As they reach the cave, Isa notices something in Lea's hand.
"Lea, put that back." Terra turns around to see what's going on and sees Lea with one of the keyblades in his hands.
"What? It's not like anyone's using it. Besides, the worlds could use an extra keyblade wielder." Lea offers, but Terra reluctantly shuts him down.
"I'm sorry Lea, but not everyone can be a keyblade wielder," says Terra. "By themselves, keyblades are usually just blunt weapons, the blade part of it is magic, that the blade emits only if it's wielded by a keyblade bearer," Terra explains. "And to be a keyblade wielder, someone either has to pass on the ability to wield one or in a rare case, someone has to be chosen by a keyblade itself, to be its wielder."
"Oh. . ." lea rubs the back of his neck before quickly putting the keyblade back into the earth, before rejoining Isa and Terra as they travel through the cave. The group finds the small cave's exit, and witness the field in which a great battle took place. Cracks and small craters where someone was thrown into walls, small hints of erosion where some sort of ice or water spell was used, but most notably, a set of armor lying on the ground with a massive keyblade stuck in the earth right in front of it,
"Woah. . . what happened here?" asks Lea, Terra shakes his head.
"I don't know," says Terra as he approaches his armor and keyblade. He takes off his black coat, and the white lab coat he wears beneath it, before tossing it over to Lea. he raises his arm in the direction of the keyblade and armor, and focuses. Suddenly, the armor and keyblade disappear, and not a moment later, the keyblade reappears in Terra's hand. He smiles as he feels the warmth of the familiar blade fills his hands. His smile fades though, as the group hears a voice behind them.
"So, you've all chosen the path of light. What a shame. You would have made great partners." the three turn around to see a man in a black coat standing before them.
"Who are you?" asks Lea
"Nobody important." says the mysterious figure
"I don't buy that for a second! Who are you? And what do you want with us?" Lea asks
"That's of no importance to you. I just thought you would make convincing some pawns a bit. . . easier. . ."
"And who are these pawns exactly?" asks Isa
". . . who do you think?" the mysterious figure asks. Adrenaline pumps through Lea's veins as thoughts rush to his mind.
"Lea, stop! He's just messing with your head!" Terra warns, but Lea doesn't listen, instinctively dashes at his foe. The mysterious figure materializes a strange black and blue keyblade, and swings at, only for his blade to be met, with another keyblade. To the surprise of the mysterious figure, as well as Isa and Terra, Lea is holding a keyblade. The hilt and keychain of the blade resemble that of Lea's Chakram, while the blade itself resembles that of a curling flame. Lea pushes back the mysterious figure, who flips and lands on his feet a relatively large distance away.
"This has made things. . . interesting. . ." says the mysterious figure, before disappearing into a corridor of darkness.
"Wait!" yells Lea as he jumps and swipes at the corridor but it disappears. Before Lea can open his own corridor in a vain attempt to follow him, he's stopped by Isa and Terra.
"Stop Lea. We don't know what he's capable of," says Isa, as he tightens his grip on Lea. Lea takes deep heavy breaths as he looks at his friend.
"But- Roxas and Xion-" Lea says desperately
"They're strong Lea, far stronger than you. They can handle themselves if they need to," says Isa.
"Besides. You'll need to rest after awakening the power of your keyblade," says Terra. Lea looks confused, before looking to the ground and realizing the weapon he'd been using the whole time, wasn't his Chakram. He looks down at his keyblade, Flame Liberator, and smiles.
"Alright, I guess your right," Lea admits. "But once I can, I'm going to look for them," says Lea.
"That's fine. Just take a moment to rest," says Isa. Lea nods.
"Hmm. . . now that I think about it, where are they taking their mark of mastery exams?" asks Terra. Silence falls among them, as they realize they don't even know where to start.
