"So, Agent Romanoff, what intel did you gain?" Natasha had just returned from visiting the girl, and entered Fury's office to receive the ninth degree from the director himself.

"She is definitely from the Red Room."

"How do you know?" Agent Hill asked curiously.

"The scars on her abdomen, panic attacks, creating multiple stories during an interrogation, and she knew the passphrase."

"What passphrase?"

"In the Red Room we learned a secret passphrase so that we could identify each other in the field."

"Anything else?"

"Her name is Katya Vera Smirnova. Age fifteen, born 1990. Current Red Room cadet. One of the headmistress's favorite punching bags."

"And, you got all this from a 5 minute conversation?"

"Not all, we trained together for a brief time. I was much older than her. I was 18, and about to graduate, she was 12. She could barely hold a gun. The headmistress forced us to fight each other, I won easily. After we left the room, she took a serious beating. I found her crying in her room, her stomach was bruised, she was freezing, coughing up blood and barely able to speak. I helped to clean her up, then I graduated a few months later. It must've been only a few years ago, maybe 2002."

"Do you think she'll cooperate if we interrogate her in the next few hours?"

"No. I know what that girl has been through, she won't answer any questions. She needs to regain her strength and trust us. Her whole life all she has known is pain, we need to teach her not everyone will beat her if she does something wrong." Director Fury had never seen such emotion in Natasha's eyes before, it was like staring into green fire.

"Alright, do what you have to do. But we need her so that other girls don't have to live like that." Natasha rolled her eyes at this statement, she knew all too well why they needed to be destroyed.

"Believe me director, I have never wanted to destroy something so much in my entire life."
