Bella's P.O.V:

Bella was nervous as she sat at the Slytherin table the morning after she had been sorted into Slytherin. She hadn't seen her brother in the entrance hall, but had seen him sitting at the Gryffindor table and he waved at her before her attention had been diverted to Blaise who was talking to Theo just as their head of house, Professor Snape, had walked towards them with their schedules which held their lesson times.

"Not bad." Theo said, making Bella roll her eyes. "Herbology first with Ravenclaw, Transfiguration, Defence against the Dark Arts then Charms."

"We also have astronomy tonight." Bella said, groaning as she noticed that the first year Slytherin's had astronomy at midnight every Monday night. "At least that's only once a week."

"We don't start flying lessons until the first Wednesday of October." Blaise said, frowning. "We can't even be on the Quidditch team until second year."

"We can in special circumstances. It's just no first year has been placed on any house team in about a century, meaning it's more difficult for us than anyone in second year and above." Bella said, rolling her eyes and smirking as Draco looked at her shocked.

"How did you know that?" Theo asked, shocked.

"I read Hogwarts: A History." Bella smirked as her hair turned a bright hot pink as Blaise, Draco and Theo looked at her with open mouths. "Come on, we've got Herbology and that'll be outside so we'll have to find greenhouse one."

Laughing at Blaise, Theo and Draco's shocked looks, Bella stood up from the Slytherin table and had almost made it to the entrance hall by the time Draco, Blaise, and Theo had caught up to her.

Draco's P.O.V:

Draco was shocked as he followed Bella towards the Great Hall for lunch after Transfiguration. Out of the whole class, she was the only one who had managed to turn her match into a needle and earning five points for Slytherin in the process.

"Bella!" Harry shouted as Draco walked behind Bella into the Great Hall.

"See you guys in Defence Against the Dark Arts." Bella said, grinning as she all but ran towards where Harry was sitting.

"I've said it before and I'll say it again. She's beautiful." Draco said sitting down at the Slytherin table and watching Bella as she sat with Harry as her hair brightened to an even brighter hot pink.

Harry's P.O.V:

"Hi." Bella said after Harry introduced her to Hermione Granger and making him laugh as she grabbed some of the food that was on the table in front of her.

"Aren't you supposed to be with those snakes?" Ron demanded, glaring at Bella.

"She's my twin and if I want to spend time with her then I will." Harry said, glaring at Ron before turning to his sister. "So how've classes been?"

"I had Herbology with Ravenclaw first thing, then Transfiguration after." Bella shrugged. "I like it. Better than muggle school and having to struggle with keeping my hair my natural auburn, since here no one cares if I have green and silver hair or pink hair."

"What've you got this afternoon?" Harry asked, happy that Bella was having fun.

"Charms then Defence Against the Dark Arts." Bella said, grinning. "What've you got?"

"Transfiguration and Charms." Harry said, grabbing his timetable out of his bag.

"You'll be writing out a lot of notes in Transfiguration then you'll be turning matches into needles. Easy peasy." Bella said laughing as Harry pulled a face.

"How is that easy?" Harry asked, frowning as Bella giggled.

"Your an idiot. Professor McGonagall gives you the spell then you turn the match into the needle." Bella said, laughing even more as Harry still frowned. "No wonder you didn't get into Ravenclaw."

Harry rolled his eyes as he glanced at the staff table and waved at Hagrid who had waved first, noticing that Bella was getting a few odd looks from the teachers as she started talking to Hermione about classes.

"I can't wait for Charms and Defence Against the Dark Arts." Bella was saying as Harry focused back on Bella and Hermione's conversation. "I was so bored the last two weeks of the summer holidays that I've already read all of the books that we were told to get as well as the extra books that I got."

"Bella?" The blonde boy Harry knew to be Draco Malfoy questioned, walking up behind Bella and making Harry laugh as Bella jumped. "It's almost time for Defence Against the Dark Arts and we've got to find the class."

"Okay." Bella said and Harry noticed Bella's smile widen and her already bright pink hair brightened even more as she followed the blonde boy out of the Great Hall.

"She's got it bad." Fred said, sitting across from Harry with George where Bella had been sitting.

"He's a snake. She's a snake." Ron growled out. "Just because his parents say they were bewitched doesn't make it true."

"Ron, you complete idiot. None of us were even old enough to understand what was going when You-Know-Who was going strong." George said, and Harry was shocked to see both twins and Percy glaring at Ron. "Maybe you should realise that both Bella and Harry lost their parents the night that You-Know-Who disappeared and then had to grow up without each other. Maybe you shouldn't listen behind closed doors when dad is telling mum the rumours that are going around at the Ministry. And think about being nicer to Bella or you'll loose Harry's friendship."

Harry was shocked. He'd never heard George say so much.

"I'm going to Transfiguration." Harry said, sending a reproachful look to Ron as Hermione followed him. "Either say sorry to my sister and mean it or we won't have a friendship any longer."

"I didn't even say anything that wasn't true." Harry heard Ron saying as Fred, George and Percy started yelling at him in hushed tones.

"I'm sorry." Hermione said, smiling timidly at Harry.

"It's not your fault." Harry said, smiling at Hermione.

"Harry!" Two boys yelled from behind Harry as he and Hermione walked up the stairs in the entrance hall as they began to find their Transfiguration class.

"Yeah?" Harry questioned, turning around to look at Bella's friends.

"Where did Bella and Draco go?" One of the boys asked.

"What he means is, I'm Theo and he's Blaise." The second boy, Theo, said rolling his eyes. "We also wanna know where Bella and Draco went."

"Defence Against the Dark Arts." Harry said, smiling. "Second floor, classroom five, right hand corridor."

"Thanks." Theo said as he and Blaise rushed towards where the Defence Against the Dark Arts classroom was.

Harry's P.O.V:

Harry's first week had passed quickly, though since it was Friday and he had only one lesson, which was potions, he he wasn't looking forward to it since it meant that he, and the rest of the Gryffindor first years, would have potions with the Slytherin first years. Something he didn't want because whenever he had spent time with Bella, during lunch or after dinner, Ron had decided to follow and either glared at Bella and called her a snake, or tried to apologise if his older brothers were around.

Hearing the other first years starting to wake up, Harry quickly got dressed before going to breakfast, where he saw Bella walking into the Great Hall with Draco, Blaise, and Theo, her bright hot pink hair pulled up into a messy ponytail.

"Potter!" Harry heard Ron yell from beside him, causing Bella to roll her eyes as her hair changed from a bright hot pink to a bright vivid red and back to bright hot pink again.

"Leave me alone Weasley. If your here to call me a snake again, just leave. No one wants to hear it. Especially from a weasel like you." Bella growled as a couple of fifth year Slytherin's walked past laughing.

Harry couldn't help it, he laughed as he watched Bella turn around and her hair barely missed Ron who just stared after Bella in shock.

"Not funny." Ron growled out, glaring at Harry who was walking into the Great hall laughing still.

"Yeah it is." Harry said, sitting next to Neville Longbottom who was quietly eating his breakfast.

"Bella's nice. She helped me with my transfiguration homework yesterday. I don't get why you don't like her." Neville said somewhat timidly.

"Snakes can't be nice, Neville." Ron said, glaring at the Slytherin table. "Name one Slytherin who turned out good."

"The Malfoy's. They realised they were being bewitched when Draco was born and joined the right side of the wizarding war." A still timid Neville said, much to Harry's surprise.

Harry looked up and smiled. He caught sight of Bella who seemed to be talking to not only Blaise, Theo and Draco, but was also talking to a girl who was sitting on her right.

Bella's P.O.V:

"Just how bright do you need your hair?" Blaise asked, looking at Bella as she laughed with Daphne Greengrass.

"Really bright." Bella said, rolling her eyes as she made her hair turn a brighter shade of hot pink. "Or I could change it to Gryffindor colours just to annoy you."

Just then the post arrived, cutting off anything Blaise was going to say. Bella had gotten used to this, but it had given her a shock on the first morning when about a hundred owls had suddenly streamed into the Great Hall during breakfast and circled the tables until they saw their owners and dropped letters and packages on to their laps.

Her owl Midnight hadn't bought her any post yet, but Bella had sent a letter to her adoptive parents the previous day to let them know that she had been sorted into Slytherin and how her first week had gone. But this morning her owl had arrived with a letter clearly from Charlie, Renee, Cole and Beau and she struggled to carry a large package.

"Thanks Midnight." Bella said as Midnight landed right in front of her and dipped her beak into Bella's pumpkin juice before taking the piece of toast Bella handed her and flying off right as Draco's eagle owl flew into the Great Hall and dropped a package in front of Draco and a package in front of Bella.

"What the…?" Bella trailed off, looking at the package.

"Seriously, my mum sent you sweets as well?" Draco asked, rolling his eyes.

"Clearly she likes me more." Bella giggled, opening the package from Renee and Charlie and noticing that all of her favourite muggle candy was packed inside a box. "And that's my weekend sorted. Do my homework and have a lazy day on Sunday."

"Don't you mean finish your homework? You've already completed your Transfiguration and Herbology homework as well as started your Defence Against the Dark Arts and Charms homework." Blaise said, laughing as Bella struggled to put the six mini Milky Way bars into her bag after placing the candy Draco's mum sent her and most of the candy Charlie and Renee got her into her backpack before placing them into the pockets of her robes before following Daphne to potions. "Honestly woman, you've written three foot essays for both Transfiguration and Herbology, when Sprout and McGonagall asked for a foot long essay. Your writing is tiny, I honestly don't get how anyone can read it."

"I'll help you with anything your struggling with." Bella said giggling as Draco, Blaise, and Theo rushed to follow Bella and Daphne to potions.

Harry's P.O.V:

Harry was nervous as he sat in his first potions lesson, and looking around he could see that the rest of the first year Gryffindor's were as well.

"You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion-making." Snape began after he had taken the register and Harry noticed that he spoke in barely more than a whisper, and just like with Professor McGonagall the first years caught every word. "As there is little foolish wand-waving here, many of you will hardly believe this is magic. I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its simmering fumes, the delicate power of liquid that creep through human veins, bewitching the kind, ensuring the senses … I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death - if you aren't a bigger bunch of dunderheads as I usually teach."

Silence followed this little speech and Harry looked around. Ron glanced at him with a raised eyebrow, Hermione Granger was on the edge of her seat and looked ready to prove that she wasn't a dunderhead.

"Isabella Potter." Snape said suddenly as he completely ignored Harry who looked in Bella's direction as her hair turned a bright vivid red before returning to the emerald green and silver she had changed her hair colour to before potions had started. "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?"

"Asphodel and wormwood make a sleeping potion so powerful that it is known as the Draught of Living Death." Bella said, shocking Harry as he didn't know the answer.

"Correct. Two points to Slytherin." Snape said, looking mildly surprised to Harry's shock. "Let's try again. Where would you look if I told you to find me a bezoar?"

"A bezoar is a stone taken from the stomach of a goat and will save you from most potions." Bella said, causing Snape to again look surprised and Harry noticed that Snape had hoped that his sister wouldn't know the answer.

"Correct again. Take another two points. Now can you tell me the difference between monkswood and wolfsbane?" Snape said again.

"Their the same plant, but also go by the name aconite. They make a potion to help werewolves control themselves on the full moon, making a werewolf more docile but not docile enough to stop them changing each full moon." Bella said, shocking everyone as they looked at her.

"Again that is correct. Take another two points. Clearly you were the only one to open your textbook." Snape said, making Harry realise that Snape really did favour the Slytherin's as he glared at Hermione who lowered her hand and looked defeated. "Well? Why aren't you all copying that down."

There was a sudden rummaging for quills and parchment as Harry and the Gryffindor's rushed to do Snape said.

Things didn't improve for the Gryffindor's as potions continued. Snape put them all into pairs and set them to mixing up a simple potion to cure boils. He swept around in his long black cloak, watching them weigh dried nettles and crushed snake fangs. Looking up from where he was working with Ron, Harry noticed that Bella was working with Blaise Zabini right as Neville, who was working with Seamus Finnegan, managed to melt Seamus' cauldron into a twisted blob and causing their potion to seep across the stone floor, burning holes in people's shoes. Within seconds, the whole class was standing on their stools while Neville, who had been drenched in the potion when the cauldron collapsed, moaned in pain as angry red boils sprang up all over his arms and legs.

"Idiot boy!" Snape snarled, clearing the spilled potion away with a flick of his wand. "I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking the cauldron off the fire?"

Neville whimpered as boils started to pop up all of his nose.

"Take him to the hospital wing." Snape spat at Seamus before turning at glare at Ron who was next to Neville and Seamus when the cauldron exploded. "You - Weasley - why didn't you tell him not to add the quills? Thought he'd make you look good because your working with the male Potter if he got it wrong, did you? That's two points you've just lost for Gryffindor."

Harry tried to hold back his laughter as he heard both Bella and Blaise as well as Draco and Theo laughing as Ron glared at Snape's back.

"Don't push it." Hermione said from next to him since she had been working with Lavender Brown as Ron looked like he was going to argue. "I've heard Snape can get very nasty."

"It's not fair. Anyone could have answered those questions that Snape gave Bella. Yet he goes and gives her six points just for knowing three stupid questions." Ron whined to Harry, and Dean Thomas as they exited the dungeon and walked towards the Great Hall. "I get she's a metamorphmagus and half Veela. But seriously, what's so special about Isabella Potter?"

At this a girl with dull grey hair pushed past Harry and Dean and Harry noticed that it was Bella as Draco, Blaise, Theo, and the girl he had seen her talking to ran past with worried expressions after glaring at Ron.

"I think she heard you." Dean said, glancing at Harry who was worried for his sister.

"So." Ron said, glaring at the backs of the four Slytherin's.

Bella's P.O.V:

"Come on Bells." Bella heard Theo whine as she locked herself into a cubicle in the girls bathroom on the second floor. "Are you really upset at what Weasley said?"

"Leave me alone Theo." Bella said, trying to Will her hair to either emerald green and silver or bright hot pink instead of the grey it had taken when she heard what Ron said.

"Mr Malfoy, Mr Zabini, Mr Pucey and Mr Nott, what are you three first years doing in the girls bathroom with a second year student." Bella heard the squeaky voice of her charms teacher, Professor Flitwick, say somewhat demandingly.

"Bella locked herself in a cubicle because Ron Weasley was being mean about her answering some questions in potions and earning Slytherin six points in the process. Her own twin didn't defend her. If we hadn't been so worried about her then we would have defended her, but we thought it would be better to follow Bella instead." Theo said as Bella opened the cubicle door.

"There she is." A second year that Bella had seen in the Slytherin common room said, smiling.

"Bella." Draco said relieved as he rushed to her and gave her an almost bone crushing hug.

"Oomf." Bella said, blushing as Theo, Blaise and the second year she knew to be Adrian Pucey laughed. "Can't breathe, dumbass."

"Sorry." Draco said, not meeting anyone's gaze as his cheeks tinged a light pink.

"Next time I'll ruin your stupid hair." Bella said, making Theo. Blaise and Adrian laugh as Professor Flitwick smiled.

"Next time I find myself in a girls bathroom I'm blaming you." Draco said, rolling his eyes.

"Not my fault your mum loves me more." Bella giggled as her hair turned a bright hot pink.

"That's better." Adrian said. "But please, I'm begging you, I never want to see that shade of pink first thing in a morning every again. This week has been torture seeing that bright shade of pink first thing in a morning."

"Try waking up with a ducks beak and bright yellow hair." Bella said, glaring at Adrian who laughed as Bella turned to Professor Flitwick. "Professor, you teach charms, is there a charm I can use to control my metamorphmagus abilities when I sleep."

"No. You'll just have to figure it out yourself. You may want to take a leaf out of your fathers book and use it to your advantage. Maybe quaking or barking in Mr Pucey's ears each morning." Flitwick said, laughing when Bella's hair got even brighter.

"My dad was a metamorphmagus?" Bella questioned.

"No, but he did love to prank people. I believe he and his friends once started a food fight in the Great Hall when Professor Dumbledore said aim for the stars. I also believe Professor McGonagall has pictures." He said, not realising the implications of his words.

"So if I start a food fight with Adrian, you won't do anything about it by not saying you gave me the idea?" Bella questioned as the tiny Charms teacher made sure the five students left the bathroom.

"Go ahead. But I will warn you that nothing will top Dumbledore throwing a bowl with mashed potatoes peas and gravy at Madam Pomfrey and Madam Hooch." Flitwick squeaked.

"Wanna go and annoy some Gryffindor's boys?" Bella questioned as Adrian's fellow quidditch team walked past.

"I like the way you think, Bella." Adrian said, clearly realising what Bella was getting at. "Hey, Flint, wanna start a food fight with the Gryffindors. Professor Flitwick gave Bella a great idea to get back at the youngest Weasley who was mean to her just for knowing some answers and earning Slytherin some points in potions this morning."

"I didn't hear anything. I didn't see anything. I'm not here. Just give me enough time to get to the staff table before you start anything. That way I have plausible deniability." Professor Flitwick said as the quidditch team looked between the four first years, Adrian and the tiny Professor as he walked away.

Laughing, Bella and her friends followed the quidditch teams towards the Great Hall for what would be a fun lunch.
