Chapter seven.

A/N:

This chapter will include some time jumps.

Harry's P.O.V:

"Typical." Ron said as he and Harry walked towards the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall one morning in October after noticing that they would start flying lessons on Wednesday with the Slytherin first years. "Just what I always wanted. To have flying lessons with the snakes."

Harry rolled his eyes as he sat down and looked towards the Slytherin table and saw Bella laughing with her friends as Hermione Granger's lecture on proper flying, something she had tried to learn from a library book, was cut short by the arrival of the post.

Harry looked up and saw Hedwig soaring into the Great Hall carrying a parcel at the same time as Bella's ink black owl Midnight soared towards her, each of them carrying a large package.

Opening the let the attached to the package he saw his aunt Petunia's handwriting and smiled.

Dear Harry,

I hope you are having a wonderful time at school. When your's and Bella's owl's arrived, I thought I'd send you and Bella some sweets, knowing that Bella's adoptive parents had sent you both some.

Don't worry, Vernon doesn't know.

Lots of love,

Aunt Petunia.

Smiling at the fact that his uncle Vernon didn't know that his aunt had sent both Harry and Bella sweets, he couldn't help but laugh as he looked inside of the package and saw all of his favourite sweets before he placed the package into his bag and walked over to the Slytherin table.

"Pink? Really?" Harry asked, sitting down next to Bella.

"I was annoying Draco." Bella said, smirking over at the blonde haired boy who rolled his eyes. "I was going to go for a bright purple, but Draco was being annoying so I thought I'd annoy him by having pink hair."

"Harry, your sister is annoying." Theo said, looking up from where he sat next to Draco. "She quaked in my ear this morning because I was apparently being too slow."

"You were. And I had a reason for that." Bella said, making Harry confused. "I was hungry and you decided to walk really slow just to annoy me."

"You can metamorph a ducks beak whenever you want and not just in your sleep?" Harry asked.

"If I concentrate enough." Bella said, looking at her watch. "Come on we've got Herbology. I don't know what this idiot has, but it ain't Herbology cause we've got that with Ravenclaw."

"Fun." Blaise said, rolling his eyes as the three boys followed Bella as a laughing Harry made his way to History of Magic.

"Yeah, your annoying." Harry called, laughing.

"Not as annoying as you, dumbass." Bella said, turning around and sticking her tongue out at him and making Harry laugh even more. "Not funny you stupid Gryffindork."

Bella's P.O.V:

Bella was nervous as she stood with the rest of the Slytherin and Gryffindor first years. Looking around she noticed that most of the first years were also nervous, particularly Hermione and Neville.

"Well, what are you all waiting for? Stand by a broom." A teacher Bella recognised as Madam Hooch said, appearing out of nowhere and making Bella laugh when Ron jumped.

"Idiot." Bella muttered, though she could tell he heard when he rolled his eyes and glared at her.

Right as Madam Hooch was instructing them on how to hover two feet off the ground, Bella saw Neville panicking and rise higher and higher above the quidditch pitch.

"That's not supposed to happen." Blaise said as the Slytherin's laughed and Bella smirked.

"If he gets hurt, it's his own fault." Bella said, rolling her eyes as Ron glared at her yet again. "What it's true - Neville got nervous and panicked. And here I thought Gryffindor's were meant to be brave."

"Shut it snake." Ron growled out, still glaring at Bella.

"I've had enough of this." Bella said, climbing onto her broom and headed straight for Neville.

She made it to Neville right as he fell off his own broom. Helping him stay on her broom, Bella headed for the ground and saw an angry Snape stood by Madam Hooch.

"Oh crap." Bella muttered. "What? He could have gotten hurt."

"With me Miss Potter. Rolanda, take Mr Longbottom to the infirmary, he needs a calming draught." Snape said, turning around as Bella helped Neville off the broom.

Rolling her eyes as Ron laughed, Bella shut him up quickly by forcing him to grab hold of the broom she had used to save Neville.

"Professor Sprout, may I speak to Flint please." Snape said, walking into greenhouse four as a confused Bella waited outside.

Professor Sprout obviously agreed as Marcus Flint walked out of the greenhouse, looking confused.

"Flint, I've found you a chaser." Snape said, making both Bella and Marcus even more confused. "Miss Potter just saved another first year from a malfunctioning broom during her first flying lesson."

"She'll need a new broom, Professor." Marcus said, eyeing Bella curiously. "Preferably the new Cleensweep 7 or new Nimbus 2000."

"I'll see to that, and I'll leave you to tell Isabella about Quidditch practice times." Professor Snape said, turning to Bella. "Isabella, only your brother and friends may know about your place on the quidditch team."

"Don't call me Isabella." Bella growled out, her hair turning a bright vivid red before turning back to its customary bright hot pink as Snape walked away while Marcus laughed. "Shut up Marcus or during quidditch games I'll go for the opposing houses colours."

"Come on, it's almost lunch." Marcus said, laughing as he hoisted his bag into his shoulder and walked towards the school. "Oh, quidditch practice is tomorrow night, so Snape better come through with a new broom by them."

"What's with the first year?" A boy Bella knew to be Montague said ten minutes later as both Bella and Marcus sat in the Great Hall.

"Shortie here is our new chaser." Marcus said as the quidditch team sat down. "She saved another first year from a malfunctioning broom, Snape saw her and placed her on the team."

Bella laughed as the team looked at her curiously.

"No first year gets on the team." Adrian Pucey said looking at Bella and smiling. "You must have been good if Snape placed you on the team."

"Aww, what's the matter Snake? Eating your last meal?" Ron said, appearing behind Bella with Seamus Finnegan.

"Actually, I got placed in the quidditch team Weasel." Bella said, turning to glare at a furious Ron as both Weasley twins entered the Great Hall for lunch. "Aww, what's the matter ginger? Lost your Gryffindork bravery? Or are you scared your brothers might hear what you say?"

"Mr Weasley go sit at the Gryffindor table, you to Mr Finnegan." Snape said, walking up to where Bella sat. "Miss Potter, your new broom will arrive later during dinner. Don't make us lose against Gryffindor, they just got your brother as a Seeker. I suggest Mr Flint shows you the ropes of being a chaser before you actually start practicing quidditch."

"Yes Professor." Bella said weakly as she turned back to her lunch.

The rest of the day passed by quickly and at six thirty Bella found herself sitting on the grass in the quidditch pitch, waiting for Marcus to appear with the Slytherin keeper Miles Bletchley.

"Your early." Marcus said, walking into the pitch with Miles and Bella noticed that he had what appeared to be a basketball sized ball under his arm.

"Your late." Bella said giggling and looking at her watch as she stood up and saw that it was a quarter to seven. "So are we gonna do this or continue saying either one of us is early or one of us late?"

"Let's get this over with, Wood wants to train with your brother at half seven." Marcus said, showing Bella the basketball. "This is the quaffle, we pass it to each other and the other chaser, Adrian Pucey, to score as many points as we can before Terence catches the golden snitch."

"Yeah yeah, I read Quidditch through the Ages. Now are you gonna shut up and let me throw this at dumbass over there or what?" Bella said, smirking as Marcus looked startled by her outburst.

"Come on." Marcus said, rolling his eyes. "Miles will protect three of the hoops while you try and score."

"Got it, dumbass." Bella said, grabbing the quaffle off Marcus and heading straight for the air at the same time as Miles who headed for three of the six hoops right as Bella pretended to throw the quaffle at one hoop and aiming for the middle hoop twice in under a minute.

"Times up." Marcus bellowed forty five minutes later and Bella looked towards the ground and saw her twin brother smiling as he he stood next to a boy who seemed to be scowling.

"Cya Harry." Bella said, throwing the quaffe at Marcus who caught it and placed it in the box that the boy Harry was with had at his feet. "Oh, I'll see you tomorrow."

Harry's P.O.V:

It had been a couple of weeks, and was now Halloween since both he and Bella had been placed on their respective houses quidditch teams and Harry had only seen Bella in passing.

"What's got your hair turning pitch black?" Harry asked as he walked up behind her as she walked towards the Great Hall and breakfast.

"Your dumbass friend is begging to be hexed." Bella said, turning to face Harry as she scrunched up her nose and turned her hair a bright hot pink. "If I wanted to lose my spot on the quidditch team I'd hex him with a bat bogey hex and hair loss jinx at the same time just so I could get a laugh out of it. No wonder Hermione can't stand him. He's a stuck up idiot that thinks the world owes him because he has five older brothers who have achieved more than he ever will."

"Err, what?" Harry questioned.

"He's lazy Harry. And if you keep spending any more time around him, you'll keep getting lower grades than you already are because Ron seems to think skating by is okay. Seriously, you haven't even opened a book since we got here." Bella said, much to Harry's surprise as she turned around and almost hit him with her hair which she had placed into a high ponytail.

Harry thought about what Bella said and knew it was true. He hadn't opened a book since he got to Hogwarts and that was two months prior. He knew he was barely scraping by with Acceptable's in most of his classes except in History of Magic and Potions in which he kept getting Poor, meaning he failed, and he knew that Bella kept getting Outstanding's all the while helping her friends get Exceeds Expectations.
