Chapter 5: Resilience Is the Key
A/N:
Hey y'all! I hope you guys enjoyed the last chapter. I enjoyed writing that and had fun creating that chapter and especially naming the new weapon to the power couple here.
Also, quick update on The Crimson Wolf Singer! I'm sorry if I haven't updated it yet but I've had so many ideas for this story that even during work I made notes for this story as it comes spewing out my bland mind. BUT rest assured the new chapter is halfway done and almost ready to be added to the saga of The Crimson Wolf Singer!
Now I have a few things to talk about after getting feedback about the relationship about the couples in this story.
Coco + Velvet (that's a given)
Ruby + Sienna Khan (Striped Rose)
Yang + Blake (Bumblebee)
Weiss + Neptune
Pyrrha + Jaune
Nora + Ren
There are more to come, and you will occasionally see maybe some white rose and ladybug throughout but those will be small interactions later in the plot.
Now the main point is about how I did a 3-month time skip for Ruby. I understand strongly if this caused you to go O.o? But understand that I didn't really want to say 1-2 months because this was literally based on the intensive training Ruby partake with the other two. Yes, their relationship has evolved but I won't make it to the point in the next 2 chapters that they are married. That would be ridiculous although they will get married but it will be towards the end. Right now, the two characters relationship is new and very cautious as it's been one a long time for Sienna and two it's very new to our loveable cookie crimson reaper.
So, know that I will be taking in consideration about their status in the relationship and will not try to rush it or push it too fast. I want to make sense as much as possible without trying to throw it off. :D
Thank you again for being patient and hope this continues to fulfill your excitement for this story! Be aware it's going to start to become more intense, range of emotions are going to be hitting you and characters you won't expect to show up.

Chapter 5: Resilience Is the Key
Resilience is defined as the ability to be able to bounce back despite what has happened around yourself. That is what the red reaper felt, despite people belittling her behind her back including her team, not once did she give up. In fact, she wanted to prove to herself and everyone around her that she was not a little girl that didn't understand the world.
The only people that supported her was Sienna, Ozpin, Glynda and the other staff members of the school. They didn't just ignore her or talk down to her, they knew her potential and were waiting for it. They could see the body language becoming more frustrated and antsy whenever she walked in, and other students were talking in whispers.
Not once did she fall for it or give in to her emotions. Ruby knew how strong she was and had taught herself to hold herself up and keep herself in check. When she grinded all those hours with Sienna and Jackie to train in hand to hand, workouts, weapon usage and leadership.
The little reaper was slowly developing into this grand picture of a true student, the movements becoming more precise and gracefully, the power behind each counter and punch doubling, the tactical mind become more developed and armed, the workouts becoming harsher and harder. It was developing Ruby into a completely different person.
No longer stood in front of Sienna was someone who was shy and awkward but what stood in front of her was a powerful and strong-minded woman who carried herself. Those silver eyes shining with determination and purpose and the aura of power and calmness seeping around her.
It was like a phoenix rising from the depths of the abyss in full on flames and fury and dissipating the darkness around it. A comet shining through the cloudy skies and that was what Ruby had become.
"One more set, Ruby" Sienna spoke out loud as she watched her girlfriend do some bench press. The sweat falling down her body and she let out a grunt before lifting the weight and starting the process.
Ruby was exhausted but that did not make her a quitter and she damn well knew she wasn't a quitter. She lifted the weight and started to bring it to her chest and the push up as she let her breath out before she repeated the motion.
"9 more to go" Sienna watched carefully as she saw her slip into concentration mode and kept her form up.
Jackie watched on the sidelines and smiled subtly at the young huntress and reflected how much she had changed. She had become mature and a confident person it was absolutely mind-boggling.
The sounds of grunts could be heard from the person as she continued to repeat the motion without making a mistake, her muscles contracting and releasing as they showed the growth of muscle and definition. The music playing in the background, even Glynda was surprised to see how much she was benching for her age but what caught her off even more was the amount of muscle Ruby had put on.
"Last 4 miss rose, don't let you concentration down" she smiled at her strongest student and smirked when she heard a grunt of annoyance.
Flashback
The first time Glynda had met Sienna was accidental in fact. She was in town buying some food and other items for her classes and saw Ruby in town in a completely different outfit without her beloved cape. This caught her attention and saw she was walking with two other people as they looked older than her.
She made her way over to greet Ruby and ask her what she was doing out her without her team. Glynda already knew something was going on between Ruby and the team, but she left it up to them as it wasn't her place unless it got serious.
Ruby saw someone walking towards them and was begging in her mind that it wasn't her team and was panicking. Sienna felt her tense up and looked down to see Ruby shaking and becoming more frigid.
"Rose? Are you okay?" She whispered quietly in her ear and received nothing from the young girl.
"Ruby?" Jackie asked also looking concerned at her friend until they caught the mumble of words that were said quietly thankfully, they had amazing hearing.
"Please don't say it's my team, pleassee" Ruby muttered quietly and crossing her fingers just in case.
"Hello, Ms Rose, I certainly didn't expect to see you coming down here" Glynda spoke softly as she was wearing a more relaxing attire such as jeans and a white tshirt with a denim jacket on top.
"O-oh! Hi miss Goodwitch! I was here with my.." she mumbled the last part quietly wishing she didn't question it but when she looked up she saw her eyebrows raised and groaned internally.
"I am her girlfriend, Sienna and this is Jackie our friend and my secretary" Sienna replied causing the girl to blush and hide her face behind her hands and Glynda to laugh softly.
"Ooh! This is the mysterious 'Personal Trainer' that you have been talking about Ruby huh?" This only made Ruby to blanch even more and saw Jackie laughing out loud at the new information given to them.
"Personal trainer dear, you said I was your personal trainer!" she couldn't help but join in the laughter from the other two woman's and saw her reaper pout and cross her arms.
"I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO SAY! BESIDES OZPIN ALREADY KNEW! HMPH" turning around and pouting harder as Sienna placed a kiss on her head.
"Yes, apparently I am the secret personal trainer for this student of yours, I hope she has been improving" they ignored the 'hey' coming from the girl and talked a little bit more.
Glynda was surprised when the tiger faunus spoke up and telling her straight up that she was Ruby's girlfriend and very impressed. However, she felt she knew that name and the fact Ozpin knew before-hand made it more suspicious. She racked her brain before it clicked all together.
"Wait..you're Sienna Khan the actress and spokesperson for faunus rights!" which she responded with a nod and saw those striped ears twitch.
Momentarily Glynda's brain was broken at this and the fact that her favorite student was dating this absolute star and training with her made it hard to believe but she stood right in front of her. Before she could make herself look like a fool she continued with the conversation before having to leave to drop everything at her house and waved goodbye to all the girls.
'My, oh my Ruby. You are incredibly lucky' she thought to herself as she made her way to the transport to get back.
The other's continued on with their walk as they hummed happily and looked around them.
"Well…that was something. Not often you meet your professors in town!" causing the rest to shake their head and laugh.
Present
After the workout Ruby had done with the guidance of Sienna and Glynda she went to take a quick shower and went back to beacon with Glynda. She gave her girlfriend a small kiss and hugged Jackie happily before she went to go back.
Ruby was truly excited because her new clothes had just arrived in her locker room, and she couldn't help but bounce around when walking and sitting in the seat. Glynda just laughed and smiled at the behavior of Ruby, what was truly interesting was the fact that despite her maturing up for her age and being wise she was still able to be childish and still had some innocent moments although Glynda thoughts of 'innocent' of Ruby was quickly washed away when Jackie accidentally told her about finding those two in bed naked and heavy stench of sex.
Upon entering beacon once again and saying goodbye to the combat professor as she hugged her and skipped her way towards the training rooms and the lockers to get check out her new gear she recently acquired. Ruby was truly ecstatic and to be honest so was the other people that knew about this.
"Oh boy! This is so exciting hehe. It's like early Christmas for good ol' me!" she giggled as she entered the building but stopped to get a bottle of water and some energy bars and then went to her locker.
She was full on ready to explode at this moment with excitement and glee building up in her veins it's almost like she had a second semblance if people were to look at her right now.
"Nora and Ren and Team CVFY really want to see this as well. I only have a few more hours before they get a glimpse OR I could say no and tell them to wait for tomorrow' she wondered as she found her locker and was in contemplation.
Ruby opened her locker to see three new sealed packages inside, two of which were in a neat and clean garment bag. One had a design of cherry blossom over on the bag that contrasted the blackness of it, inside of the bag was the kimono outfit which she had customized on the online shop and then going to the person. It was a nice black and had blood red trimmings, the detailed art engraved on the outfit that was done with precision. The skirt was a black and had armor embedded in it and didn't hinge on her movements and flexibility. One thing to know about this clothing that this wasn't any cheap or basic look what the designer had done was embedded their aura and armor into the outfit to reinforce the user. It wasn't visible by the eye but when hit you could hear metal meeting metal. She sported some black knee-high stockings that also had rose petals engraved in it and then high heels. Despite being unaccustomed to high heels and after being grilled by her girlfriend and taught how to wear them she started to ease into them and thought it would fit. To complete the look, she had this chain scythe that would wrap around her waist and act as a belt but if she wanted too, she could use it as a weapon without the outfit falling apart to cause any wardrobe malfunction after numerous times trying it out.
The second outfit was more of nitty gritty look, it consisted of a black crop-top, black cargo pants, black combat boots and a fully customized shoulder holsters that had an 'X' on the back that she was able to store her dual chained reaper scythes in a X fashion and in the front holsters she had ammunitions on the straps and kept two raging bull .454 casull revolver that had a black and red trimmings on the guns. It also had 'Roses' and 'Thorn' engraved on their respective weapons and had been altered to handle dust bullets and configured. These weapons packed a punch if you were hit, and Jackie found out in close combat practice and was met with those bullets. The last part was used to complete her second outfit was the cloak however this time around it was tinkered on, and she was learning how to make it an illusion when in combat and make it seem she was 'invisible' but it was still in the early stages but with her semblance she was able to make it work. Crescent Rose II was still hooked on the belt in it's travel form as she never would leave without it and lastly she kept a hidden dagger under one of the holsters.
She was in glee when she looked through the two outfit's and sending pictures too Sienna and Jackie and was about to explode with joy. It was insane she had this much energy pulsing through her veins that it made Yang's semblance seem so small, but she took a deep breath and smile before putting them back in and heading to grab a snack from the cafeteria.
"I got combat class for the next two periods and then what should I do?" She thought quietly to herself and as she made her way to the lunchroom, she saw something that disgusted her.
"OW…stop it hurts" Velvet cried out in pain when two strong hands grabbed her ears forcefully and tugged her.
"LOOK! IT'S REAL! HAHAH FILTHY DISGUSTING ANIMALS" Cardin roared out in laughter as he mocked the rabbit faunus and his group laughing but Sky Lark was trying to avoid it.
"It hurts" she whimpered out loudly as she tried to get away but to no avail.
Some people laughed on which only caused other people to feel anger at those students and others avoided to be hunted by the infamous bully group. However, some people heard the quiet entrance of the red reaper in the cafeteria and what used to see an unreadable expression or happiness was something they never wished to see.
It was pure anger in fact that wasn't the word that could be described the expression they were seeing. It was undoubtedly pure fury of the reaper as her eyes blazed and shined with silver and her body language seemed calm but two people could read this and it was Ren and Nora.
They saw the anger and rage building in their friend and instantly paled and tried to get people to move out the way. Ren was sweating as he watched Ruby walk so calmly through the lunchroom to the scene.
Velvet saw the silhouette of cape and knew it was Ruby and she was grateful but at that moment she knew that Cardin and his group was in the line of sight of her little sister.
"Oh..shit" she mumbled which only caused the bully to grip harder and she cried out even more.
"Who said you ca-" Cardin was about to finish when he felt someone tap his shoulder and caused him to release the rabbit faunus as she crawled away and nursed her ears as Ren and Nora ran to her and comforted her.
"WHO DID-Oh.,It's the brat" he smirked even more and his friends stood up to stand beside him and what they missed was the sinister smile on her face.
What happened next surprised everyone in the room except for her friends as they. After Cardin said those words a loud echo of a gun being fired at point blank impacted the room as roses roared in the room. The others watched Cardin's body launch through the room and smashing into tables and laying still in shock, the others ran up to Ruby as they tried to overwhelm her but all she did was side step Russel and fire roses again sending him off to the side and the cocking back her fist and enhanced it with her aura as she swung in a punch straight into Dove's face as a sickening crunch of his nose could be heard and him clutching in pain as he dropped to the floor as blood come out.
Ruby respected Sky because he wasn't part of it and didn't want to get into the way with his three dumb teammates as she walked past him to go to the main bully.
"You. Me in the combat room during class. I'll teach you a lesson on disrespecting faunus in general. BUT more importantly hurting my best friend." She threatened as she laced her voice with steel and her gaze burning into his soul.
"You got lucky bitch!" he snarked as he stood up and rushed at her.
All Ruby did was stick her arm out and reinforced it with her strength and aura as his neck slammed into the limb causing him to flip over as he was clotheslined and, in that momentum, she grabbed his hair and pulled him up to only punch him in his face twice and drop him onto the ground.
"Know this Cardin. Be like Sky and not a bully. But if I ever see this again. I will use you as my sparing dummy. I haven't forgotten what you did to my friends. Im watching YOU." Ruby turned around to go get some cookies and coffee's and went to Velvs and gently stroked her ears softly as the doors were kicked open and came in pissed off Coco Adel and following behind her was Fox and Yatshushi.
The look on Coco's face was burning with anger at the group until she saw the situation was taken care of. She saw Cardin lying down on the floor of broken tables and food over his clothes and his teammates groaning in pain. She spotted Sky shaking his head at his team and proceeded to get them out.
"It's okay velvs, you're safe and your team is here. Shhh" Ruby spoke gently into her sensitive ears as she was rubbing her back at the same time.
Coco swiftly moved forward to the group and kneeled to her girlfriend and nodded gratefully to Ruby. She mouthed a thank you and took over as Ruby stood up and holstered her weapons in the belt she had on her old outfit. She marched out the room as people took a step back and watched with fear and admiration.
Her team however saw this and were disturbed at the reaction from Ruby more importantly were shaking inside at the sheer death threat that the normally so happy and bubbly leader she was. However, a few people found this extremely hot and started to become worried.
'holy shit..that was hot but also scary. I didn't know she had that in her...' Blake thought to herself as she felt a tingly sensation in her.
Weiss was absolutely shocked to see her partner do that in front of everyone and was about to go scold her but thought about and saw those bright silver eyes turn into steel and she wanted to avoid that at all costs, it sent shivers up her spine and the sound of a bone breaking made it even worse.
Yang was in a different thought, for the first time ever since she made that promise with her mother to protect Ruby, she just watched her younger sister hit out. To see that expression scared her to the bone but also made her worried in some sisterly way. She needed to talk to her but how could she if her little sister wasn't talking to the team in any way possible.
Everyone watched as the red reaper walked out the cafeteria as she made her way outside to finish her lunch and meditate. She really didn't want to act out but watching her friend get toyed with because of her other traits deeply unsettled her,
Ruby was always a person that wanted to help others and make sure that they get to see their parents or make it back home safely. She knew the dangers of being a huntress since her mother passed away but that didn't stop her to strive to become a hero like in those books. She wanted to make a better place, but she wasn't that naïve to what some people thought she was. She knew that some hunters turned rogue and killed innocent people, she knew of the white fang and their extreme beliefs and finally she knew that there were dirty people in this world but that didn't deter her at all from wanting to be a huntress. In fact, this is the meaning of being a huntress, a beacon of light for those who feel hopeless at the worst times and defending humanity.
She sighed quietly and started taking some bites from the lunch she had gathered in the cafeteria and responded to her tigress text from earlier on and smiled before she just enjoyed the peacefulness in the air as she sat in the private garden of the headmaster.
Ozpin still didn't know that she had found out about this garden until he was walking past and saw her sitting down on the grass as she looked at the various of flowers that the gardeners would tend to daily. He saw the conflicting expression in her eyes and turned to walk towards his favorite student as he sipped on his hot coco with a slight of alcohol in it.
'Curse you Qrow..for making me try this and it tasting so good.' He grumbled internally and continued making his way to the troubled girl.
"Hey professor Ozpin" she spoke quietly as she wasn't facing him which caused him to look surprised but hid it behind his mug.
"Is everything alright, Ruby?" he asked quietly as he sat down nearby her as he sipped on his drink.
"I don't..know. To be honest I'm just a little bit frustrated at myself from earlier on today." She grumbled quietly.
"If you mean about teaching Mr. Winchester a lesson in the cafeteria as his team were hurting your friend Velvet. I understand the anger you felt and by the rules, students are meant to fix their problems without any help from staff unless it's too much then staff are required. You didn't do anything wrong although I am super impressed with the amount of skill you have developed over that time with Sienna and Jackie." He smiled as he watched her expression turn from confusion to a sigh and smiled back at him.
"Thank you, I needed that a lot. But I'm still frustrated about it all. I know that the world isn't kind and all rainbows and sunshine like everyone in the whole school believe that's how I think" she snarled towards the end which caused him to raise his eyebrows.
Before the gates of the garden hiding behind as they listened in was Yang and Blake as they were worried about their leader and friend. They had followed her quietly and hoping to find out what was happening with Ruby. Weiss had gone in a different direction.
"What do you think they're talking about?" Yang whispered to her girlfriend as the other was straining her hearing to get a hold of the conversation.
"So far she's been recounting about the incident in the lunchroom to Ozpin but that's all what I've gotten so far" she whispered back quietly.
Ozpin knew that Ruby's teammates had followed her and shook his head subtlety as he spoke up towards Ruby's comment.
"And what is out their Ruby?" He asked cryptically
"Heh? You want the naïve me to say or you want the dead truth I know about this world so far?" She looked at him with a soft expression as she took a bite out of the cookie.
"Whatever is comfortable but preferably what you actually know" he responded as he kept sipping his cup and kept his hand expression neutral.
"Well for one I know for a fact is not all sunshine and rainbows, in fact it's filled with people who hate their own and other people, killers out on the street that are stealing and hurting public people. There are evil criminals out there as well such as Roman Torchwick and the group 'The White Fang'. Even though at the beginning the white fang were a friendly group that would seek equality for their race amongst the other races but changed it up when they weren't getting the result. I know there are people out there that would bring others down, bully others for their differences and the fact that faunuses are getting treated harshly, I know that the head of Schnee is an absolute butt of a head. "She ranted on as she surprised not only Ozpin but the two other girls that were listening in.
Ozpin merely just nodded and allowed her to continue her explanation.
"I know that there is destruction in this world and a lot of hate that breed the grimm and those who want to take advantage of that power and bring down innocent lives. There are people who will pretend to be your friends and try to use you whenever they can and think that they've tricked you. There are so many things in this world that isn't sunshine but it's a blend of both that are unbalanced but we are huntresses are meant to make the difference and help those in needs. However. For me it's completely different." She brought her knees up to her face and was shaking as she composed her breath quietly.
"What do you mean by that?" He asked curiously and praying that she wasn't going to say what she was going to.
"My eyes." She mumbled quietly before speaking up again. "My eyes are a rare trait and that's what my mother told me one night. She told me about the legendary or shall I say fairytale about the silver eyed warriors. Magic." She whispered the last part as she quietened down her voice so that only Ozpin can hear.
"You know about that? Anything else?" he was seriously baffled about this information but proceeded to show some support and nodded his head.
"She said that our eyes were a gift from the god of light to fight off the creations from his brother which were the grimm. The fact that I had this trait already cemented my place into the huntress family. I was taught by my mom when she would take me out in the forest in patch and show me how it would turn them into stone and completely decimate those beings. She even started to teach me how to meditate and taught me some steps if I ever unlocked them." She was looking down at the floor as she continued to speak on.
"I remember the day clearly when she left that day to go on a mission and that hug was something different. It wasn't a hug that spoke 'I'll see you tonight' but instead it was more or so 'I'll see you at the otherside'. I knew she was going into a difficult mission, and I remember when uncle Qrow broke the news to us. It broke me and I would run off into the forest whenever Yang and my father were too busy doing their own things. I mean Yang did help a lot at that time but when things were starting to lower down and move on slowly, she was more focused with boys and all that. So I spent most of the time in the forest training myself and the power until one day I was ambushed by a pack of alpha beowolfs and then a portal opened.
Ozpin blanched at this information but didn't want her to stop but Ruby knowing about her powers and the fact she trained herself a bit before Qrow stepped in. But something was bothering him, her fight reminded himself of someone else.
"Auntie Raven came in and stepped in as she decimated the pack with ease with her awesome and badass sword. It was amazing. She checked my injuries, and I was scared because of the mask and then she removed it and I saw an older version of Yang. It was then I realized it was Raven, Yang's mom. She looked at me sadly and gave me a hug because she knew what I was feeling and the sheer emotion I was emitting from my position. She ended telling me about how my mother was during her years in Beacon and the crazy adventures that she would put them on and Glynda sometimes." She laughed softly and so did Ozpin.
"Your mother did take her team into crazy battles the same as what you do now. You guys are literally identical, and I realized that your fighting style has elements of your mother and then Raven and Qrow." She smiled sadly at him.
"After a while and persuading Qrow to teach me with the scythe ass he didn't know that Raven taught me about survival in the wild and then some fighting styles to aid me. She even had a bond created to me as this was asked by my mother one night and that's how she knew about me being trapped. After that I never heard from her for a while now, but I know she's out there somewhere."
Ozpin was listening ever so contently at the story that she was telling and was truly engrossed in it.
"I'm just frustrated with my discipline today after the altercation I had in the cafeteria. But I didn't want to take it any further and instead wanted to prove it in combat class. So, yeah that's all that has been going on in my head." She looked at him sadly with slight tears coming down her cheeks.
"That's quite understandable, however I should say that you handled it just fine despite the aggressiveness was there you told him to stop, and he ignored you therefore you acted on self-defense. You also didn't let it get to you and end up doing more but instead told him to do it in class in a controlled environment. Secondly I am impressed about the knowledge of you knowing about these fairytales and being able to recount them." He smiled softly and shook his head.
"You are a smart student Ms. Rose, and I am proud of every step you've taken and coming back on top despite what was handed to you. You are a representation of a true leader and of course the other person's help too" he smiled and finished his cup before having it instantly refilled which no one questioned.
"Th-thank you professor" she stuttered and smile bashfully and stood up.
"Alas, it's time you head to your next class with Ms. Goodwitch and your wager on Cardin that you told him today. Take care Ruby and if you ever need myself or even Glynda you know where we are." He bowed his head and then walked out the garden with her next to him.
Blake and Yang were shocked to hear that Ruby had something that already put her life in danger the minute she was born into the world. Yang also felt her heart break even more that she knew about summer's death and how she would ignore her little sister after a while.
They hadn't caught on the other important parts as those things completely shocked them and the attitude she spoke. They heard footsteps approaching them and quickly dodged behind bushes as the two figures walked out the opposite direction.
When they thought the coast was clear they stepped out to only be jump scared out of their mind when Ozpin tapped their shoulders, and he had a stern expression on.
"Eavesdropping is quite rude to do. If you are not part of the discussion, then you shouldn't be trying to invade other people's personal space.
"But she's our leader and friend" they both spoke loudly as anger and frustration appeared on their face.
"Despite those facts it is still wrong to invade people's spaces and conversations. You have ten minutes before combat starts. I suggest you make your way there now." He spoke sternly as he watched them hurry in the direction and then walked back to the garden and walked to the white roses that were planted.
"She's growing strong like you. You'd be proud of her Summer. I wish you were able to see her like this, but I know you are watching over her from up there. I will make sure she is safe and doesn't do anything stupid." He smiled softly and bowed his head in respect before going back to his tower.
At combat class
As the student started to pile into their 2-hour combat class with Ms. Goodwitch but what people were excited or eager to watch was Ruby Rose and Cardin Winchester. This made a lot of people come instead of trying to skip this class to see what would happen, whispers could be heard throughout the crowd as Ruby walked in nonchalantly.
'Keep you cool Rose. Keep in control' she reminded herself as people parted away like the red sea as they watched her take her seat and waited for class to commence.
She watched everyone take their seat and looked around to see that a lot more people to show up but more importantly she saw her friends from Team CVFY come in to support but Coco still had this scowl on her face.
"Ruby. You don't have to do this. It's not who you are" Weiss spoke up quietly as the rest of her team followed behind and nodded in agreement with the ice queen's word.
"I don't but I want to" she snapped coldly at her teammates as they were shocked at the icy tone that rivaled Weiss's.
They all sat down quietly and gulped as they saw the fury burning in their team leader's eyes and then saw the neutral face appear on her. All three of them including the other two members of their sister team were wondering what happened to the Ruby they knew.
"Alright. Everyone quiet down and sit down. CLASS is about to commence, and I don't want any interruptions." The teacher spoke up loudly as all the whispers died down.
"Now that I've got your attention. Is there anyone that would like to start off the class or should I pick people using the selector machine." Everyone tried to look away and avoid making eye contact with the strict professor and some even slumped down further in their chairs hoping they didn't get picked.
"I would like to volunteer" Ruby spoke up confidently as she kept a neutral face and stood up.
"Alright. Ms. Rose who would you like to spar with?" she knew who she was going to pick after hearing about the incident today that was recounted by the lunch staff when she got her meal.
"I'd like to fight Cardin, Russel and Dove please and leave Sky alone" as she pointed at the three boys and nodded slightly to Sky who gave a sad nod.
"HA. You think you can beat us three?" Cardin guffawed at the statement and smirked cockily at the shorter girl.
"Yeah, you think you are tough, brat!" Russel spoke up and smirked as well but out of all the boys Sky was sweat dropping as he saw that neutral face but a slight tug at the lips of the girl turning into a grin.
'Ruby..please leave them alive at least' he mumbled under his breath as he knew he would have to drag them out after this encounter being the second time today.
The crowd went 'oooh' and 'ahh' when they watched the combaters start to walk towards their respective locker rooms and disappeared from the class. Everyone started making bets even the professors did but already knew the outcome was going to be but were paling at how bad it would be.
"Guys. I'm not too sure about this. Yes, Ruby is strong but is she insane to challenge three people at once?" Weiss snarked out towards her team and JNPR.
"That's what I'm thinking. She's incredible with her scythe but can she even fight three people at once? Maybe that's beyond her skill." Pyrrha added to the conversation as Blake and Yang nodded in agreement to the comment.
"I believe Ruby will do just fine, if not I think she'll teach them a lesson about discriminating other races and bullying people" Ren spoke calmly as he watched Ruby leave.
"Yup! RENNY'S RIGHT YA KNOW. YOU GUYS ARE SUCH BUTTS! GO RUBY" she shouted out loud causing people to laugh and some to agree especially team CVFY and Team SSSN.
The rest of team RWBY looked at Ren questioningly and ignored Nora's antics but all he did was shrug his shoulders and focused ahead of him. Blake was thinking about adding in her two cents to the conversation.
"Isn't it a bit much though? She's an upperclassman and should know how to fight off bullies or stand up to them" Blake spoke up monotonously.
"Is it?" Coco snapped at the cat faunus causing her to back up a bit in her seat. "You should know what it's like to be targeted by a group of bullies and then getting your ears tugged at with force Blake. YOU guys just sat there idly watching the scene and didn't seem to intervene with the situation? Huh and I thought you guys were the best team in your year. Yet, Ruby your leader who had just entered the lunchroom and acted on it without having to think. She stood up for someone when you guys were just twiddling your thumbs." She spat towards the end causing the blonde to get angry.
"HEY WHERE WERE YOU THEN?" Yang shouted with fury at the older woman who just scoffed.
"Where was I and the rest of my team? We were in class since we do different subjects. We were told when we just finished class blondie" she looked down at yang through her shades.
The blonde just sat down with her tail tucked between her legs and fell silent as the other went back to sit with her team.
Ruby was in her locker room as she was currently picking on which outfit, she wanted to run. The stealthy/badass look with the combat boots or the more goddess looking outfit. She had an internal debate on this but saw she also brought her two customized casull revolvers with her.
"Badass outfit it is then" she smirked happily as she got changed into the outfit. She changed out her bra with a compression bra and had binded them as well, she then put on her black crop top that showed her defined and cut abs and her toned arms and shoulders, next she put on her black cargo pants and then black combat boots making her look some type of mercenary. She had her hair in a braided ponytail today and then lastly strapped on her customized holster and put her two revolvers in them. Before adding all her ammos, the belts, she had connected striped rose in the back of the underside of her black cloak. She put on some atlas shades that showed all information about the opponent through the lens.
'Time to send a picture to my sexy tigress since she's busy at work' as she took a selfie of herself and posed blowing a kiss.
"Yup definitely feeling sexy in this. Now time to go into combat" she mumbled as she made her way back towards the class that was eagerly waiting for her.
Cardin and his other teammates were already there and were waiting at the floor for her to appear.
"Huh, guess she pissed herself and ran away. Ha, I knew she wasn't going to do anything" he laughed as his friends joined in.
Yang was seconds away from standing and flying towards that smuck face of his and beating it in with her fists but was restrained from Pyrrha and Blake. In both teams felt uneasy about this whole situation and were secretly hoping she was going to be okay and not embarrass herself.
"OoooOOOH Ren I can't wait! WE GET TO SEE HER NEW LOOK AND WEAPONS! SHE'S BEEN BRAGGING HERSELF! IS IT A BIGGER SCYTHE?!" Nora rambled on in her musings as she was excited, and Ren smiled softly and shared the same thought.
Meanwhile team CVFY really were sharing the same excitement to see this new makeover and the new weapons she purchased and customized as well. More importantly velvet had her camera out to take some pictures to post or even test out the weapons.
(PROCEED TO PLAY 'WHAT'S UP DANGER' FROM THE SPIDERVERSE FOR THE ULTIMATE IMMERSION FOR THIS PART)
The class then heard the footsteps making it's way towards the class and their attention went towards the sound and saw something that shocked everyone to the core.
Here stood Ruby Rose, the red reaper and the leader of Team RWBY and a formidable huntress in progression, A true prodigy. They were blown away from the current change of outfit which was all black and had blood red trimmings on her clothes, her toned and defined abs showing full, those arms showing definition and power as she swayed her hips walking down having a neutral expression on her face.
The cloak that looked almost invincible in the light, the shades she was wearing, her hair done in a braided bun and lastly the glimpse of striped rose that had the chains wrapped around her wrists and the scythes under her cloak, the two beefy revolvers in the holsters.
Blake was completely blown away from this as she saw her leader walking down towards the arena. In fact, she found Ruby incredibly hot in the outfit and saw those stomach muscles contracting and relaxing, the way her hip moved and how it hugged those curves that she didn't know Ruby had made her hungry.
'Ruby rose. What are you doing to me? No, stop it blake! You are with Yang' she mentally groaned and pushed away those thoughts and looked at the guns holstered.
Weiss was in the same predicament as she watched her partner rock up and completely shocking the whole class. She was very jealous about that but at the same time she couldn't help but agree with the reactions. Ruby looked ruthless in this outfit, and she saw the flutter of the cloak, but it seemed to appear and disappear which made her curious.
Yang was loss for words as she let her eyes roam around her little sister's body and seeing the change in her body and seeing those curves made her question when this all happened. The look on her face made her sweat a bit more and feel sorry for Cardin but only just. She remembered the time when Ruby went out her way to break this bully back in Signal because he picked on her best friend. She shuddered at that memory as she remembered this bright silver eyes turn into steel.
Nora was gushing and was practically in love with the outfit and Ren just smirked casually as he saw in the corner of his eyes the shocked expression on Pyrrha and Jaune's face. He could hear the squeal in Velvet's voice and hear Coco say that she digged the new look.
Ozpin was smirking at the idea that Ruby came with when she came to him and talking about extra materials to bring to the forge or buy and saw the final look. Glynda and the rest of the professors were in love with this new look and saw that determined facial expression but also a calm and collected fashion.
"It's go time Rose" she mumbled to herself as she entered the arena and took her position on the other side.
"Right, this is a fight in normal tournament style and rules are the same. The first person or team that has their aura down to the red will be out. Normal rules apply." Glynda spoke up sternly as she walked past Ruby and whispered.
"Take it easy on them, you already punished him today" Ruby pouted playfully at the teacher who just smacked her arm and smiled quickly before going outside the arena to monitor the match.
"Are you ready to lose brat? You animal lover!" Cardin spoke up as he got in his position as the others two stood on each side.
"Unlike you Cardin, my arrogance can be backed up whereas yours is just as floppy as your little friend" she bit back causing him to get angry and snarl at her.
"You'll pay for that bitch" as the two ready up their weapons as they waited for the match to commence and send this girl down with her pride.
"Hmm, I can see that Sky is smarter than you brainless bullies. I guess you can't save everyone" she shrugged and smirked before speaking lowly sending shivers down the class "Don't start crying when it's not going your way, just like when daddy didn't give you attention".
This made his shut up as he let out a frustrated anger and that's when the teacher spoke out loud.
"Are you both ready now? Good, Now begin" she spoke loudly as the crowd were on the edge of the seats and had their scrolls out ready for the action.
The candidates eyed each other down with the anger present in the boy's faces and the cool and calm collected look in Ruby's the silence was high in this room and the tension getting so much you could cut it with a knife.
Then suddenly Russel and Dove roared with energy as they rushed opposite sides of her as Cardin watched from the spot as his held his mace on his shoulder waiting to hear the cries of the girl and the ring of the bell.
But nothing came and so he looked up to only watch Russel and Dove get completely disarmed and owned with seconds of their rush. As one thought passed his mind.
'oh fuck' he thought internally as he watched them get flung across the arena
Russel was rushing from the left side as he brought up his daggers ready to strike down the reaper and then allow Dove to have the open and take advantage to that but the one thing, they didn't realize was the movement and awareness that Ruby had developed.
She had sense them coming at her from either sides and figured she would attack Russel first before taking care of Dove. So when she felt he was close enough in her circle she smirked and jumped and flipping over him as she watched him look surprised at the movement and took that time to grab his wrist and twist it causing him to shout in pain and drop one of his daggers. Watching the weapon fall he thought he could get her with that distraction but then saw her grab both beefy revolvers and blanched.
While in mid air and disarming one hand that was holding his dagger ruby used that to fix her positioning and brought out Roses and Thorn out from their holsters that had ice dust in one and the other fire dust. She aimed them both at him and fired them both at the same time as the gun shot was like the sound of a 50cal being fired. The gun roaring into life as the smell of the shell being fired and a blue and orange flash came out the long-customized barrel of the gun.
He braced for impact as he felt the fire bullet smash into his back twice causing him to stumble forward and then two ice dust bullets hitting his wrists causing it to become frozen before the fire dust collided into the area.
Ruby landed gracefully as twirled the twin guns to reload them and switched them with gravity and electric rounds. She fired again at Russel who was sent careening into the wall and groaned out as he was felt like he was being tased, his aura sinking down to the yellow.
The crowd were cheering as they watched the precision and flawless move that she had executed with ease as her friends were stunned and were left gaping. She kept her guard up and felt Dove close in on her and she allowed him to get up close and then she did something that shocked the crowd and the professors. The rose had pulled her cloak around her and activated her semblance at the same time. Instead of rose petals appearing to indicate she had gone there was nothing as she seemed to disappear from existence.
What Ruby had done was melded her semblance into her cloak so that the rose petals would stay in the cloak when activating it and not going everywhere. The cloak then appeared on the ground before flicking out of appearance and everyone looked around the room.
"You think you'll get away with what you are doing to others? I'll tell you what. You keep doing this and I'll keep on coming back" she spoke so coldly and then felt a force of a boot smacking into this head as he shot forward and groaned from the impact. She fired two more bullets from the cartridge and then he saw the slight opening and went up close.
"Now, I've got you" he said as he swung his sword to only just see her tuck and roll underneath the swing and shoot him in the back with electric dust round.
She was toying with him, and he could feel it and tell by the smirk just had maintained from the beginning causing his anger to flood more into him. He rushed again roaring in rage and tried to swing but the attack was stopped when she blocked it with her guns and pushed him away. She moved with ease and then took aim with her Roses and shot for his grip on the sword and fire Thorn into Cardin who was approaching her thinking he was sneaky.
Team RWBY and JNPR were watching with complete awe as they watched her completely own the two fighters and even sensing where Cardin was when she was looking somewhere else.
"How did she know he was there?!" Jaune asked surprise as they were shocked too.
"I have no idea, but it's on par with a faunus hearing and senses. Which I'm sure that Ruby isn't unless you've been lying Yang?" Weiss stared at her teammate who only looked confused just like everyone else.
"I have no idea what is happening and what I'm witnessing right but this is all just too crazy to see so suddenly" she spoke out as the others nodded except Ren and Nora.
They were impressed with her awareness, but he caught something, he felt Ruby's aura pulse every so often and it made everything clear. She would let her aura out to sense people's positioning which told her where he was.
"Neat" he smirked to himself and watched on as the class were supporting Ruby and he wondered what her main new weapon was. He had spotted the chains wrapped around her wrists and wandered what it was.
Cardin grunted as he clutched his chest as the dust smashed into his chest plate leaving a dent in there. He watched as she fired again as they hit Dove's hands causing him to let go of his weapon.
Dove didn't step down as his aura was slowly going down to yellow meanwhile Russel had just regained his ability to stand up after being down on the ground and collected one of his daggers.
'you'll pay for that' he snarled to himself and rushed to her as Dove and Cardin read his moves and copied as they all roared in anger.
Cardin's mace coming down as fire dust was loaded into the chamber, Dove threw his fist forward with his momentum and Russel went to swipe his dagger at her. Sky watched with an eagle as he saw Ruby slowly move her feet into a position and was curious about how she could get out of this.
The crowd were worried as they saw the three of them attacking her simultaneously and new her hand-to-hand combat was great at all and were thoroughly enjoying it and knew it was about to be over.
"Oh god, this is where she's going to fail and make a fool out of herself" Weiss spoke up arrogantly which caused a few people to glare at her direction.
What they didn't know was Ruby was more than prepared for this and reinforced one of the bullets with her aura to add extra power and aimed at Cardin's weapon to discharge the weapon. The ruby red glow going through the barrel of the gun until it reached the end as the bullet fired out with an angry red and orange bright flash as it smashed into the mace and triggered the charge from his mace. She then threw her other Thorn at the face of Dove causing him to cry out in pain as it hit him on the nose.
"Aghhh Fuck! FUCK" he shouted as he clutched his face as a trace of blood came out his nose.
Russel swipe was blocked with the chains on her wrist and the twisted his wrist again before she disarmed him and headbutted him. That caused him to stumble back a bit and rubbing his head. He ran back at her as he wildly swung his punches and she blocked or dodged all of them with ease. She even started to dance around all three of them trying to get a hit at her.
They were all closing in on her, but their auras were in the yellow and Cardin's was still in the green but was just about to enter the yellow zone. Glynda watched the flawlessness of the movements she was executing and the fact she fixed her hand-to-hand combat made her smile.
Ruby's muscles tensed and relaxing with each movement as it showed the sheer definition and power within her muscles during this whole spar. She was about to earn a lot of admirers now.
Cardin stumbled back a bit from the premature release of his mace and growled and spoke up in anger to taunt this brat.
"All faunuses deserve to be treated like shit! They are worthless and disgusting to society like your rabbit friend." He smirked as he stood back up and looked at his target watching her snarl as she dodged.
"She isn't worthless. She is amazing and strong unlike someone like you who is a degenerate" she laced her voice with poison.
He was about to land the killing blow as his distraction plan so they can bash her down and spoke up.
"Awh, is someone sad that their mommy isn't here? She's dead and deserves to be" he smirked and went in for the closing blow to complete his plan but that is when he made the biggest mistake of his life.
There was a roar of anger in the crowd as Yang hair turned into flames and her lilac eyes burned into crimson red and her body was shaking as her friends tried to hold her down. Velvet and Coco and the guys were also livid at that remark as others went 'ooh'.
"CARDIN WINCHESTER" Shouted Glynda as the sounds of metal was hitting the ground or the sounds of fists.
"Gonna cry like a baby now" he mocked as he the other two watched him walk up to her.
Sky paled and prayed to the gods of remnant that they were going to live another day but realized that no one should ever bring that up and he was going to have a big discussion with his team.
"No" she replied coldly and her tone flat. "She grabbed his fists tightly as she clamped down on it tightly causing his hand to go white. He groaned in pain as he tried to pry off her hand, but she loosened it when she sensed the other two coming in.
"I am going to teach you a lesson." As she used her cloak to take the impact of the different weapons and let it fall to the ground.
She waited until they were all so close to each other and had no space to back out from their attack.
"Oh and tell me what you are going to do" he smirked even wider and started chuckling.
"This" as she jumped up while using her semblance on her feet and was above them as her semblance roared into anger causing the petals to become razor sharp as it spun around the group creating a tornado.
She grabbed the handles of striped rose and pulled them out as she was in the air and loosened them as she spun in the air the chains tugging on the protector on her wrists as the sharp vibro blade that used sound and the higher the frequency it would have more of an affect. The twin reaper scythes gleamed in the light as Rozu shined in a red aura around it and the 'Shimo moyo' radiated into a orange aura.
Striped rose was beautiful in every aspect even Ozpin and Qrow marveled at the creation as the hilt was made from onyx and then the intriguing designs etched into the blade. What also made everyone's breath be taken away was the aura pulsing through the aura as Ruby spun the sickles around. Seeing the vibration in the air and around them causing the blade to vibrate as they watched it dig into the ground between the three figures. The sound of 'THUNK' echoing around showed the sheer power behind this masterpiece of the weapon.
"IS THAT A DUAL REAPER SICKLES OR SCYTHES" Velvet exploded as she watched Ruby swing them with grace.
"Th-that's a vibroblade.." Blake commentated in shock as her eyesight was able to see better and saw the blades vibrating and cutting cleanly through the tornado of rose petals.
"How the hell does she have that?" Weiss exploded and admiring the blade and weapon.
The two teams knew that Ruby was a weaponsmith master and would be able to recorrect whatever errors in your weapon and fix it for free and wouldn't even want anything in return which shocked a lot of people. But this was a pure beauty in their eyes, this was the pinnacle of weapon creating.
She swung her blades as she defected each of their attacks and pushed on into them as she attacked them individually, she threw Rozu towards Cardin as it wrapped around his legs and the other clipping in the slight exposed space between his chest plate and shoulder plate as the blade embedded itself and then she pulled harshly and swung him around and tugged harder as the blade cut through the armor easily and then loosened the grip on his leg as she targeted Russel as the scythe cut through his aura easily sending him into the borderline of yellow and red as she tugged him forwards and cocking her fist back and smashing into his face twice.
He landed with a grunt and held his nose as he thought it was breaking and then whacked him with the blunt side of the sickles which rendered him out cold. Dove stood up in fear but was too slow to react as the sickles wrapped around his ankles and then shook them up to send him flying towards her as she executed him with a roundhouse kick.
"FATALITY!" Nora shouted happily as she was just absolutely absorbed in the fight and couldn't help it.
Ozpin, Qrow and the other professors were just astounded about the war she fought and how she nimbly dodged every attack and danced around the team. The match was being recorded as Ozpin was going to send it to Sienna to let her know how much she has improved and smiled softly.
The rose petals aimed at Cardin as it ate out his aura causing him to thrash about and the saw the cold look of the attacker then met the end of her boot into his face which made him go out cold and at last the match was over.
The bell rang to signal the end of the match as Glynda called the match's winner and looked told Sky and some other people to take them to the infirmary after watching them get knocked out with ease.
Cardin was slightly waking up again and groaning as he saw the face of the devil and paled. This little girl who he thought he could make her a laughingstock had absolutely outclassed him in every single way and made him fear her.
"If you ever make any more fun of my friends or any faunuses I will be there. Be like Sky and stop being idiots." She spoke calmly and coldly as she packed her weapons back in place and nodded at Glynda.
"Congratulations Ruby, that was a flawless match and seeing that you have improved on your combat and different weaknesses it has definitely shown in this fight. Keep going" she smiled back and nodded.
"T-thank. Ahem, thank you professor" as she smiled softly and hugged the woman before pulling away.
"You are dismissed and can have the rest of the day off. Take some time to relax" Ruby smiled humbly and gave her thanks as the crowd clapped and shouted her name.
Her team was about to follow her, but we instantly told to sit back down and to remain in class but what they caught was the smirk on the faces of Ren, Nora, and team CVFY. They were talking about her fighting and the new weapon well mainly Nora and Velvet as they gushed at it. The rest of the group looked at their leader with confusion and fear but watching her take control of the fight sparked something in them, but little did they know that this rose was protected by someone so loving and caring.
Ruby was making her way towards the landing pad at beacon to go rest and spend the rest of her with Jackie and her girlfriend. She had received a message from Ozpin which was the video of the spar, and she was so going to show that to her.
A voice stopped her in her tracks as she turned around and saw her uncle Qrow catching up with her and she ran over to him and jumped up as she glued herself to his torso.
"Hey kiddo" his gruffy and gravel voice spoke out as he put his flask away and smiled at his niece.
"Hi Uncle QROW! DID YA MISS ME" she squealed happily as she ruffled her hair causing her to pout but nonetheless to smile.
"Nope! But I did want to spend some time with you and catch up. Plus, I saw the fight and got to say kiddo, Summer would be extremely proud of you," He smiled sadly as she hugged him and then decided to lighten the mood.
She mumbled something as she let go and started to walk with him in tow. She wondered when he had arrived and what he was doing here as he was meant to be on his secret recon missions.
"Now how about we go see this personal trainer that Ozpin has been talking about that you go see" he smirked causing the reaper to blush profusely.
"Qrowwww" she whined as she entered the bullhead as she babbled happily to her uncle.
In the far distance was a raven sitting on the roof of the beacon and watched the two figures enter the bullhead.

Hello everyone! Now you all must be wondering where I have been and to be completely honest, I have been relaxing since I'm currently on holiday after working for the last 7 months at my job with not taking a break and then also getting all Christmas presents for my family and my work colleagues.
Another thing is I have been brainstorming new ideas for three actual different new stories to start off. I also have been writing extra chapters for the other two stories offline but have been fixing them so expect them to be uploaded later! This includes 'The Crimson Wolf Singer' and 'My Redhaired Friend'. I am really loving this story.
SO QUICK EXPLENATION ON THIS STORY ESPECIALLY THIS PART.
Ruby has seen and trained with Raven after she was spotted in the forest as she wanted to check with summer but found out her portal to her was gone but Ruby's was still there. This will be told in the story more in the next few chapters!
Ruby is never aggressive but unless she finds someone harming an innocent person or anyone, she considers friends or as a family then she will teach that person a lesson and reading that Cardin mocked his mother's death. Thus, the results were shown in the spar.
The tension between Ruby and her teammates including Jaune and Pyrrha has not been sorted as you can tell, and it will but it will be more in the background, but it will still appear on the story.
AGAIN, this story is solely focused on Sienna and Ruby! But there will be times that I will make a chapter based on Ruby or Sienna's POV. Which means there will be chapters based on a day in their life or some type of event like this one!

Watch her leave the life of beacon behind and goes off radar as Ozpin loses his key component for his war.
