Naturally, UA still offered general education courses, though for the Hero Course these classes were done during the morning. Bang noticed Midnight as she walked to her class.
"I thought you had a young villain to track down," The Old Pro noted.
"Child Emperor contacted me with some info about her since he's been keeping tabs on her," Midnight explained. "He said the villain was female and had a blood-based Quirk. So I took myself off the capture team since my Quirk isn't as effective against women, and suggested Vlad King go instead due to his [Blood Control] Quirk. So I hear Shota hasn't expelled anyone in his class yet. He usually gets at least one expulsion on the first day."
"Apparently he sees a lot of potential in his class this year," Bang explained, rubbing his chin. "But I hope those kids are ready for the real deal. All-Might may be more gentle at teaching, but even he won't pull any punches if it means bringing out the best in these kids."
"I AM HERE! COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"
Toshinori, in his buff All-Might Form and decked out in his Silver Age Hero Costume, strode into the classroom of 1-A, his cape billowing in the non-existent wind. Needless to say, everybody in Class 1-A was excited to see the Symbol of Peace would be their teacher.
"Welcome to the most important class at UA High, Heroics 101! This is where you learn the basics of being a hero, and what it means to fight in the name of good! Now while this class will be a serious one, there is one fun aspect of it that I know you're all looking forward to..."
"HERO COSTUMES!" Almost everyone in the class shouted at once.
"That's right!" All-Might said proudly. "While not the most important aspect of a hero, looking good for the crowd is not something that should be underestimated. Recognition is important because when you stick out in the minds of the people, you give them hope every time you appear on the scene. Now you all submitted your early costume designs along with your Quirk registration prior to your enrollment here, and the Support Class has worked to make those designs a reality."
Several lockers popped out from the nearby wall, each with a number and name on them.
"Get suited up, because our first lesson is fight training! After all, with how dangerous Villains are, more often than not the only way to stop them is to knock them out."
"Ah, hell yeah!" Katsuki called out with a feral grin. "I've been waiting for this!"
"You and I both, brother!" Natsuki said, standing up from her seat.
"Time to kick some ass!" Meggy grinned, punching her fist into her palm.
"Ass-Whooping! Ass-Whooping! Ass-Whooping!" Saiko cheered like a kid who was told they would be going on an all-expenses-paid trip to Disneyland.
The students got into their costumes. Izuku had a mouth guard over his face to avoid his muttering being heard. Katsuki had applied for a special license to use grenade-based gauntlets that stored his nitroglycerin-based sweat. Tooru was wearing a skin-tight red jumpsuit made from her DNA so that it could turn transparent when she used her Quirk, [Invisibility].
Saki wore a black hooded cloak and tunic. Monika wore armor that appeared to be a mix of Magneto and Firestorm, Sayori wore a costume reminiscent of Spider-Gwen but colored pink, cyan, and red, Yuri wore black hooded robes that revealed her legs, which were clad in thigh-high black boots, and Natsuki wore a white spandex suit with pink accents and the Yin-Yang symbol on her chest.
Meggy wore her signature red beanie and headphones along with a white shirt with black undersleeves, black shorts, and black boots. Tari wore a bare-shouldered, black, white, and blue uniform and black tracksuit pants with white stripes. and navy blue slide sandals with long socks with blue stripes. Saiko wore a tan jacket with a black tube top underneath, a dark-brown miniskirt, a black belt with a skull buckle, black leggings, and light-grey casual shoes. She also had a skull-and-crossbones pendant around her neck. Melony wore a black and red watermelon-themed hoodie dress with a thin green zig-zag line in the middle and a watermelon on the bottom right, and black socks. Finally, Axol wore a blue long-sleeved shirt, navy blue pants, black boots, and a belt.
All-Might looked at his students with approval. "They say clothes make the Hero, and you're certainly proving it today! From this point on you are all Heroes in training!"
The class started talking with each other about how cool each other's costumes were. Minoru observed the girl's various costumes before turning to nobody in particular and giving a thumbs-up.
"UA High is the best!"
"Tre chic, mes amis," Yuuga said as he observed everyone, "Everyone seems to have gone with a style that suits them. No clashing whatsoever."
"Aren't you worried a cape might be problematic, like with what happened with Dyna-Guy?" Natsuki asked as Yuuga smirked and wagged his finger.
"I made sure to design it to be removable if it gets snagged, mon chéri."
"Your costume looks amazing, Deku!" Ochako said as she approached Izuku. "I should have been more specific with my costume, so it's all puffy and skintight."
Izuku was suddenly glad his mouth guard covered his nose because he was pretty sure it was bleeding slightly.
"Now then!" All-Might said, getting his students' attention. "Here's how the battle training will commence! Right now we're in the urban simulation, which you should be familiar with. However, this environment is two-fold. While the Villain Fights you see on the news take place outdoors, statistically speaking it's more common to have fights with Villains indoors. Abandoned buildings, home invasions, backroom deals, banks or other robbery scenes, and even evil lairs. The truly intelligent criminals stay hidden in the shadows!"
"So all of these buildings are not merely facsimiles, but actual building simulations both inside and outside?" Tenya noted.
"That's correct, Young Iida!" All-Might said, "Now for this exercise, you'll be separated into Heroes and Villains, fighting in two-on-two simulations."
"Question," Katsuki spoke up. "How far can we go with physical violence before the fight has to stop?"
"You'll be allowed to cause injury with full contact. But under no circumstances are you allowed to deliberately kill your opponent, no matter which side you're placed on.
"Is the bad guy team required to lose in this simulation?" Momo asked next with her hand raised.
"Not at all! The point of being placed on the bad guy team is to get into the mindset of a villain. If you understand how they would conduct an operation, then you can more easily outmaneuver them when facing the real deal. So both sides should strive for victory!"
After answering a few more small questions from the class, All-Might took out a script and began reading through it.
"Guess he's pretty new to the teacher thing, huh?" Tari whispered to Meggy, who nodded.
"Hey, we all gotta start somewhere!" Melony chimed in with a smile as All-Might read the script out loud to the class.
"Here's how the scenario goes. The Villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere, and it's up to the Heroes to foil their plans. For the Hero Team, you must either capture the Villain Team or secure and recover the weapon. The Villain Team wins by either protecting the payload or capturing the Heroes. This may sound like a classic action movie setup, and admittedly it is, but this sort of scenario is also common in our current society."
He then brought out a yellow lottery box.
"How many times you won't have the luxury of picking your teammates out in the field, so for this first exercise you'll be paired up randomly."
Izuku found himself flustered again when he was placed on the same team as Ochako for Team A. The rest of the teams were as follows.
Team B: Shoto and Shouji.
Team C: Momo and Minoru.
Team D: Katsuki and Tenya.
Team E: Yuuga and Mina.
Team F: Rikidou and Kouji.
Team G: Denki and Kyouka.
Team H: Fumikage and Tsuyu.
Team I: Oujiro and Tooru.
Team J: Eijirou and Sero.
Team K: Saki and Sayori.
Team L: Monika and Tari.
Team M: Yuri and Meggy.
Team N: Saiko and Natsuki.
Team O: Axol and Melony
All Might then placed five lettered balls randomly into two more boxes for heroes and villains, then blindly picked one from each.
"And our first fight is... Team A for the Heroes versus Team H for the Villains!"
Izuku noticed Fumikage staring in his direction and held back the lump in his throat as Ochako turned to him with a smile.
"Let's do this, Deku!"
"Right, let's!"
Fumikage and Tsuyu went into the building first to set up the fake nuclear weapon and plan out their counter-strategy for whatever Izuku and Ochako planned. Izuku began streaming through ideas in his mind, his mask covering his muttering before he snapped his fingers and turned to Ochako.
"Uraraka, do you trust me?"
"Yes!"
Izuku then opened a compartment in his palm with the [Castle-Castle Fruit] and held it out to Ochako.
"Get inside my inner fortress and here's what we're going to do."
With Fumiakge and Tsuyu, they finished setting the fake nuclear weapon in their desired location.
"What's the plan Tokoyami?" Tsuyu asked the bird-headed boy.
"My Quirk is more suited for combat, I'll scout for Midoriya and Uraraka."
"I'll guard the bomb then."
Fumikage then left the room to look for the infiltrating hero team
"Sorry, Fumikage, but the match was already decided in OUR favor!" Izuku said as he suddenly appeared and using the [Glint-Glint Fruit] he shot forward towards in a beam of light and suddenly without warning used Amaterasu, pointing his middle and index fingers directly at Fumikage and Dark Shadow Izuku unleashed a powerful flash of light at the pair blinding the former and causing the latter to screech in pain and retreat back into its user's body.
With Fumikage and his Quirk incapacitated, Izuku quickly used the capture tape to restrain Fumkage eliminating him. Izuku then opened a door using the [Door-Door Fruit] to reach the top floor where Tsuyu was guarding the bomb.
"Alright Uraraka, get the bomb I'll distract Asui!" Izuku instructed as he released Ochako from his body, restoring her to her original size.
Izuku using the [Plume-Plume Fruit] created a smokescreen obscuring Uraraka and himself from Tsuyu's sight. Uraraka then used her Quirk on herself to float above the smoke clouds and touch the bomb, winning for her team.
"This match is over! Hero Team wins!" All Might declared. Izuku helped unbound Fumikage as the raven-headed boy dusted himself off.
"Your skills were impressive. I was merely a paper tiger in a hurricane against you."
Izuku giggled. "I'm not really sure what that means."
As Izuku, Ochako, Tsuyu, and Fumikage returned to the viewing room, All-Might addressed everyone.
"Alright, class, can you guess who was the MVP on both sides?"
"The Hero Team's MVP goes to Izuku because he cleverly used his Quirk and managed to skillfully counter Fumikage's Quirk. The Villain Team's MVP goes to Fumikage since he came up with a solid plan despite the odds stacked against him." Monika said with her arm raised.
"Yes, Young Monika! That is absolutely correct!"
Monika smiled with satisfaction. As the next match began with Team B as the Heroes and Team K as the Villains
"What do you plan on doing, Saki-Chan?" Sayori asked as she finished setting up the fake bomb. Saki rubbed her chin before snapping her fingers as she got an idea.
"This might be a long shot, but I think Todoroki will try to freeze us inside. Luckily, I copied his Quirk and I understand how it works."
"Okay, gotcha!" Sayori said as she created a web rappel and hung upside from it, rising up to hide in the shadows above.
With Shouji and Shoto, the former had scouted out Sayori and Saki's location with ears growing from his Dupli-Arms before relaying the information to Shoto.
"They're on the third floor, second room to the left. Yoshida is coming this way."
"You'd best stay outside. This will be over soon." Shoto said as he placed his right hand on the side of the building as he went inside and unleashed a massive stream of ice that covered everything. However, Saki was prepared as she used her copy of Shoto's Quirk to emit flames from her left side powerful enough to melt the ice around her.
"Sorry, Todoroki, that won't work on me!" Saki said as she rushed forward. Shoto's eyes widened in shock when he saw her approach and barely had time to erect an ice barrier before Saki smashed it with a flaming punch.
"How did you do that?!"
"I copied your Quirk and the Quirks of everyone else, duh!" Saki said before grinning as she grabbed Shoto. "And copying isn't my only power."
Shoto tried to unleash another wave of ice to freeze Saki in place but found his Quirk unable to activate.
"What did you do to me?!"
"I nullified your Quirk. It's kinda like Aizawa-Sensei's [Erasure] but through touch instead of a line of sight."
Shoto could barely even snarl in anger as Saki spun around and hit him with a roundhouse kick, knocking him out in a single blow as she saw Shouji come in and made a retreat.
"Sayori, I think I'll let you handle the big guy!"
"Got it!"
Before Shouji knew it, he found himself strung up and wrapped in a web cocoon courtesy of Sayori, who rappeled down on a web in front of him and grinned playfully.
"Sorry!"
The next match-up was Team D as the Villain Team and Team I as the Hero Team. Oujiro put up a solid defense against Katsuki, being able to skillfully dodge his explosions and Tooru almost reached the fake weapon had she not accidentally alerted Tenya to her presence. In the end, the victory went to Team D as Katsuki managed to overwhelm Oujiro and Tenya proved to be physically superior to Tooru.
"Maishirao and Hagakure both proved to be quite skilled in handling themselves but Katsuki and Tenya with both their Quirks and physical strength managed to come out on top," Fumikage noted. "A truly glorious and bloodless battle."
The Battle after Team K vs Team B was Team L as the Heroes vs Team C as the Villains. Momo immediately set to create a barricade to the entrance of the room where the bomb was held with her Quirk [Creation]. In the process Mineta stole a glance at her butt before grinning perversely only to be caught in the act by an unflattered Momo. Meanwhile Tari created a fast travel point using her Quirk [Gamer] to teleport herself and Monika the floor where the bomb was being held before Monika emitted a gravitational pull using her Quirk [Dynamo] to pull the bomb (causing the barricade to be destroyed in the process) towards them and touching it thus winning the match for her team.
"Whoa!" "Monika's Quirk is OP." Denki commented, impressed by the display of power by Monika.
Next was Team G as the heroes vs Team F as the villains. Kyouka used her Quirk [Earphone Jack] to locate Rikidou and Kouji. Meanwhile on the floor Team F was guarding the bomb as Rikidou consumed a bag of sugar to activate his Quirk [Sugar Rush] while Kouji nervously waited for the Hero Team to appear.
The battle after was Team J as the heroes while Team M were the villains. As Kirishima and Sero walked towards the bomb room to confront the villain team they were blindsided by Meggy who dashed towards Sero before blasting him away with an energy beam created by her Quirk [Unlimited Color]. Kirishima recovered and was about to retaliate when he was caught by a Boa Constrictor created by Yuri with her Quirk [Ultimate Lifeform]. With the Hero team out of commission Team M won. Meggy high fived Yuri afterwards.
The final battle for the class came pitting Team N as the Hero Team against Team O as the Villain Team. Saiko summoned Erza's Purgatory Armor with her Quirk [Requip]. The Purgatory Armor appeared as a black armor with many spiked features. Saiko wielded a large mace with six large spikes running down the edge, getting progressively larger as they reached the hook end of the weapon. Natsuki meanwhile summoned fire in her fists with her Quirk [Omni-Element] in preparation for battle.
They slowly approached the room where the bomb was located. Nodding at each other, they kicked down the door and charged right into a force field Axol created with his Quirk [Drawn to Life]. Agitated, Saiko slammed her mace into the force field and she was followed by Natsuki who blasted the force field with lightning. Their efforts broke the barrier but before they could capitalize on this development, they suddenly found themselves on the ground and restrained with capture tape. Melony stood over them smiling to their shock.
"How!?" "What!?" "When!?" Saiko yelled in confusion.
"Damn she's good." Natsuki grumbled.
Axol gave Melony a thumbs up which the latter returned with a smile.
"And that's a wrap!" All-Might said. "Super work today, my students! And we didn't have any major injuries. That's what all Heroes should strive for. You should be proud of your work today!"
"Man, it's nice to hear such encouraging words from All-Might. Especially after what we put up with Aizawa-Sensei the other day." Saiko said as she stretched in satisfaction.
"Agreed, Kero. He was kind of a buzzkill." Tsuyu croaked in agreement.
All-Might smiled a little wider at his student's words. "I'm happy to bring such staggering positivity to my alma mater! Well, that's all for now. But remember, this is only the beginning. The trials will only be getting harder from here on out, and even I can't pull any punches when it comes to your training as heroes. Just keep a positive attitude, and remember to smile in the face of danger!"
With that, All-Might took his leave and the class headed off to get changed back into their school uniforms.
In the teacher's lounge, Aizawa was having a cup of coffee with Kamikaze Shishigami AKA The Ronin Hero: Atomic Samurai.
"So I hear All-Might went all out with the initial hero training," Aizawa said.
"You and he may have different ideas on how to coach the students," Kamikaze said, "But he does realize that they need to be pushed to their limits. It was the same with his teacher, Miss Seven."
Aizawa nodded. "Yeah, Nana Shimura. No one knows what happened to her. One day they just found her dead from fighting an unknown villain."
Kamikaze looked solemn as he thought to himself. "I know what happened to her. She lost to the same Villain All-Might would eventually triumph over. A man so dangerous, so evil, that the world would rather forget all about him. His danger and cruelty are only matched by his fathers and siblings..."
"Want some coffee?" Aizawa asked as he offered Kamikaze a cup, the Samurai-esque hero smiled and accepted.
"Sure thing, partner. Anything from an old friend."
"Hey, Deku..." Katsuki said as he, Izuku, the Salvato Sisters, and Saki were sitting together. "You think it might be a good idea to let our class in on the secret about All-Might?"
"We probably should. However, given that we're all still new to each other, we should give it time. Maybe a month or so." Izuku said.
"Works for me. We need to work up our bonds with our peers first before we get into any serious discussions." Monika said with a nod.
"Wait, what's this about All-Might's secret?" Saki asked since she wasn't in the know-how. Izuku, Katsuki, and the Salvato Sisters all looked at each other and nodded before filling their old friend in on what they had learned, as well as the secret of [One for All].
Meanwhile, in a dimly lit bar, a young man with pale wrinkled skin and grey preserved hands all over his body set down a newspaper discussing All-Might being a teacher at UA High.
"Can you believe this shit? It says he's a teacher now."
He looked up to a figure that seemed to be made of purple smoke, though still with a humanoid shape and wearing a sharp suit one would find on a bartender.
"Hey, here's a question. What do you think would happen when the mighty Symbol of Peace... Is finally killed by the Villains?"
A sinister chuckle came from nearby, and the man and his misty cohort turned to see eight shadowy figures.
"Poor sweet boy, you need to understand one crucial thing; When the Symbol of Peace is killed... Another rises to take his place. You'd just be making a martyr of him." One of the shadows said, revealing blood-stained lips stretched into a wicked smile with crooked sharp yellow teeth.
"Our idiotic brother has lived for so long...and yet he can't even understand the most fundamental part of this world we live in." Scoffed the sole female of the eight, who had a trident by her side.
"Concurred. In order for us to be evil..." Spoke the shadow that looked and sounded like a soulless robot.
"...Good must continue to exist." Finished the shadow who was locked and loaded with so many guns and weapons, he looked like a one-man army.
"It is the neverending clash of Good and Evil that keeps us thriving...but ultimately, one will rise over the other for a time and when our time comes..." Grinned the hulking shadow with bone-like spikes covering his body.
"...We will take the reigns for all it's worth and make the people understand just how dangerous we Villains really are." Snarled the youngest of the eight, a glowing dark green light emitting from his ring finger.
The young man looked at the eight shadows and hummed as he contemplated their words before smirking behind the mask covering his face.
"You know what...I think you guys might be onto something..."
