Chapter One: Bad News
"Incredible. How long has he been screaming like this?" The doctor asks as he is looking at a screaming Shaggy.
"Almost three hours." Fred says as Alexis nods.
"Without taking a breath? It's unbelievable." The doctor says in amazement.
"Could it be a world record?" Alexis asks.
"Oh definitely. I'm just wondering if it's a violation of the laws of physics. Is that a dog?" The doctor asks as he looks at Scooby.
"Broadly speaking yes." Velma says.
"You can't have a dog in the ER." The doctor says.
"It's okay. He's a certified medical rescue dog." Daphne says as she hands the doctor a card.
"You made this in Photoshop didn't you?" The doctor asks.
"No. She did." Daphne says as she points to Alexis.
"Hey. It was your idea." Alexis says annoyedly.
"Please don't throw him out doctor. Scooby is Shaggy's best friend." Velma says.
"As long as he doesn't make a mess or break anything." The doctor says.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks doc." Scooby says happily.
"Can you help him doctor?" Alexis asks.
"Hey! Stop screaming!" The doctor shouts before Shaggy stops screaming.
"Why didn't that work when we tried it?" Fred asks.
"Eh people listen to doctors. Now tell me what happened." The doctor says.
"It was just a normal evening. We were investigating an old mansion haunted by phantom Naval officers." Velma says.
"So that's a normal evening for you is it? I see. Well let's get some x-rays." The doctor says.
*Timeskip*
"Hmm. It seems Shaggy is suffering from acute threat avoidance hypertrophy disorder." The doctor says.
"What's that?" Alexis asks.
"It's a very rare form of overreaction to fear stimuli. It affects fewer than one in 10 million." The doctor says.
"Like wow. I'm special." Shaggy says as he chuckles.
"So what does this mean?" Alexis asks.
"This means you'Il have to give up anything even remotely frightening. So no more ghost-hunting, crime-busting, or mystery-solving shenanigans." The doctor says.
"No more shenanigans." Scooby says.
"None. Shaggy as your doctor I forbid you to get in the Mystery Machine." The doctor says as he looks at Shaggy.
"But that means the end of the Scooby-Doo gang. So is there a cafeteria here or what?" Shaggy asks as he stands up.
"Cafeteria food is yummy, yummy, yummy." Scooby says happily.
*Timeskip*
"This is so like boring. What are we supposed to do if we're not solving mysteries? Hey Shaky Joe what do you do in your spare time?" Shaggy asks as the group is at a coffee shop.
"I knit. It's a scarf." Joe says as he holds up a scarf before the group begins trying to come up with things to do.
"I know. My Uncle Ted invested in this new spa in La Serena." Daphne says.
"That's right Daph. I even have a brochure. And there's a paleontological dig going on in town." Alexis says.
"Uncle Ted can get us a room in the spa and you could volunteer to help on the dig. The best thing about this is Shaggy can go. It'll be totally relaxing and not scary." Daphne says.
"Come on Shaggy. It'll be just like old times. Only without all the screaming." Fred says.
"Yeah I don't know Fred." Shaggy says.
"They have three different all you can eat buffets." Alexis says as she smiles.
"Like when do we leave?" Shaggy asks.
