"It's Mr. Hubley. Something has got him freaked out." Alexis says as the group arrives by Mr. Hubley's place.
"Thank goodness you're back. Something terrible has happened. Last night somebody broke in and took my PLR equipment." Mr. Hubley says before the group goes inside and sees the damage from the stolen equipment before seeing it looks like the damage was done by more dinosaurs.
"What would velociraptors want with this equipment?" Velma asks.
"They're still here. We should..." Mr. Hubley says before the group hears the raptors and quickly hides before getting found as everyone runs before seeing the dinosaurs leaving and follow them.
"They are heading into the town." Alexis says.
"Quick! In the van." Fred says as everyone gets into the van and heads into town before seeing a giant fiery red dinosaur.
"Look out Fred. Like it's the real Phantosaur." Shaggy shouts before Tex and the other bikers quickly help the group to get away from the dinosaurs.
"Well gang it looks as if this mystery has been officially reopened. Let's get those photos Velma to Svankmajer." Fred says.
*Timeskip*
"The smaller ones are raptors. But the big one. Either that's what attacked my camp or..." The professor says as the group is with her.
"What do you mean?" Fred asks.
"That creature must have done this." The professor says.
"Where's Winsor? Shouldn't he be with you?" Alexis asks as she looks around.
"I sent everyone home after I saw this. I'm out of here and if you have any sense you will do the same. Now if you'll excuse me I have to packing." The professor says before she leaves.
"Winsor left without saying goodbye?" Alexis asks sadly.
"He didn't. Look. Scientists really are lousy liars huh?" Shaggy asks as the group sees Winsor's car.
"Well I we'll be leaving town now. Yep here we go." Fred says as the group walks with him.
"Are we really leaving?" Alexis asks.
"Of course not. We're gonna pick up a couple of things and then come back. I have a plan." Fred says.
*Timeskip*
"Why couldn't we pick up a couple say crossbows or flamethrowers?" Shaggy asks as the group is carrying fire extinguishers.
"Trust me, this is all the protection we're need." Fred says as the group gets to work on their plan.
"Fred is right." Alexis says as the group gets the raptors out of hiding and sees it is the students.
"Just like I said it's students." Fred says.
"Game over man. We're caught." A student says before the group gets the giant red dinosaur out of hiding and puts out it's fire before running after the professor and Winsor seeing them running.
"You can't get away!" Fred shouts.
"Winsor, professor stop! There's no where to go!" Alexis shouts before the group stops as they come to a tavern with a giant perfectly preserved dinosaur encased in a giant crystal.
"A complete allosaurus. Perfectly preserved in a single huge crystal. It shouldn't be possible. I can't even begin to imagine the process by which this happened. But here it is. And here it's been for millions of years. Can you imagine how I felt the day we came upon this? It was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen. The most beautiful thing anyone had ever seen." The professor says.
"Like that's some collectable." Shaggy says as he, Daphne, and Scooby run over.
"It was my life's dream made real. I have never wanted anything so much. I'm sure I never will again. I had to make it mine. And I would've gotten away with it too if it hadn't been for you kids." The professor says.
"Professor Svankmajer... Don't you mean we have away with it?" Winsor asks as he goes over to the professor.
"Winsor... no..." Alexis says in shock.
"Sorry Alexis. I put crime before science." Winsor says as Alexis looks at him hurt.
"I know it was wrong. I'm almost glad you us." The professor says.
"How could you both be so selfish? A find like this belongs to the world." Velma says.
"Yes. Although technically it belongs to the town of La Serena this is under public land. My plan had been to scare people away long enough to dig it out and haul it away. This thing is most likely the source of the legend. The Tolkepaya probably found it centuries ago and told tales about it. So it strangely appropriate... to use the myth to scare people off. Of course I saw the mining company's fake straight away." The professor says.
"And so did I but I knew I could do better. I'd seen Mr. Hubley's hologram projector... and I'd taken some computer classes." Winsor says.
"The raptor costumes were borrowed... from the real live exhibit. I got paint strippers from a friend in construction. We planted them town to create the Phantosaur's fire breath. Our plan was to use the Phantosaur to scare the people away. With the town empty we could remove the unseen." The professor says.
"Okay but say you did scare them off. How did you plan to get this thing out of the ground?" Alexis asks.
"Explosives. This cave system honeycombs underneath the town. So we set charges with throughout." Winsor says.
"When the town was empty we blow the charges... and remove the crystal at night. I can't believe I've into a common criminal." The professor says.
"Me too." Winsor says as Alexis looks at him.
"Common criminals? Like no way man. You guys are super villains." Shaggy says.
"Evil with holograms and heat lamps." Velma says.
"Did you leave the paint stripper on?" The professor asks as she looks at Winsor as the cave begins rumbling.
"No course of not." Winsor says.
"He turned it off. I know because I it back on." Daphne says before she realizes her mistake.
"Then we'd up and get out." The professor says as the group begins to run.
