The next day, Eli skipped school with Jade and slept at her place. Last night was long and emotional and...

He was fucking exhausted.

Jade only shook her head with a small smile on her face as she watched the teen sleep on her mattress. She was working on new lyrics for a melody she had been working on for the past few days while the poor kid slept his misery away.

It was one of the few times Jade wore short sleeves and no jacket, her tattoos were showing. At the dojo, she had worn her tattoo sleeve to hide the arm and whenever she was at school without a jacket, she had the sleeve on too.

So when Eli unexpectedly woke up and asked about the ink, Jade looked over in surprise.

It was rare for Eli to see such an emotion invade Jade's facial expressions and it was a real treat. He would have to do that more often. The usual calm, collected, cocky girl was so fun to throw off kilter.

"I have a, uh, cousin named Rico." Explained Jade, setting down the guitar and sitting on the bed across from the boy. Eli grabbed Jade's wrist, causing a shiver to go down her own spine as his fingertips gently caressed the images. "I got a head bursting with music and a rose taped on me."

"What do they mean?" Eli looked into Jade's eyes, still holding onto the girls arm. She was quiet for a moment, her own heart starting to quicken ever so slightly. Attempting to regain control, Jade smirked.

"It means I like music and roses, chiqui." Eli rolled his eyes as Jade pulled her arm away. Narrowing his eyes, he leant back onto the bed and crossed his arms behind his head.

"What does that even me? 'Cheek-kay.'"

"It's chiqui, not 'cheek-kay,' you gringo." Scoffed Jade as she crossed her arms. "For that, you're going to have to figure it out yourself." Eli sniffed and rolled his eyes again. Not like she was going to tell him anyways.

"Fine, I'll just ask Miguel."

There was silence again. And the girl hated silence.

Jade headed over to the guitar and started to strum it softly, adding in some humming after a while.

The vibrations calmed Eli's muscles and tension. The craziest night of his life had him so wound up that the music was a welcomed bliss into the family. Eli closed his eyes and allowed the soulful music to send him back into sleep.

...

"Fear does not exist in this dojo, does it."

Eli though about a certain mint haired girls smirk as she stood up against Kyler.

"Pain does not exist in this dojo, does it?"

He thought about the painful burn on his arm.

"Defeat does not exist in this dojo, does it?"

He thought about the way green eyes looked at him with pride.

"Class, are you ready to learn the way of the fist?"

Hawk was more than ready.

...

Jade assumed the dojo went over well and the kid got the reaction he wanted.

He had showed up just as she was lacing her boots, not even bothering to knock.

"Hawk!" Shouted Eli, slamming the door close and running up to the girl who was still on one knee. Jade blinked owlishly up at the teen.

"O-okay?" Jade stood up and put a hand on Eli's forehead. "Did you breath in too much hair spray...?" Eli knocked the hands away from his head before getting annoyed and just grabbing her by the wrists. Their eyes crashed into each other once again.

"I'm Hawk, Jade." He shook her arms a little bit with a grin. "I am Hawk!" He let out an almost crazy laugh as he let go of the girl and jumped over to a bean bag to sit down in. He looked over to the girl and noticed the guitar case and pocketbook.

She decided that names were like gender pronouns.

Not her fucking problem why they were there, but she would respect them either way,

"Where you going?" Jade picked up her case and smirked.

"Ever gone been to a... club before, chiqui?"

...

This was unlike any club he had ever seen...

On TV that is.

The place was filled with people like Jade. Mohawks and shaves, all different colors of everything, and leather galore. There was loud angry music scratching through the air and the smell of sins infected his sense as Jade led him behind the stage.

Walking through the hallway, the two came up on an open room with lounging and four guys dressed similarly to Jade.

Jade went up to the guys, letting a grin fall onto her face as she hugged and greeted them fondly. Hawk shifted side to side. His stomach felt strange seeing Jade hug all these guys.

"Everyone, this is Hawk." Jade was stationed at the end of a couch, with her was a guy with red hair and a metal bar through his nose. He had his arms around Jades waist as she stood in front of him and Hawk felt his hands clench. "Hawk, these are my bandmates."

"They call me Scooter. I play bass." The man with dreads walked over to the teen first and offered a fist bump. The african-american guy had holes in his ears and wore a black muscle tee and ripped jeans. "That's Rum, he's on the drum set." He nodded over to a heavier set ginger who wore black and chains, and was smoking something thicker than a cigerette

"Sup." Rum raised his hand into a peace sign and took a drag of his blunt. "Wanna hit?"

Jade took the blunt from her bandmate and took one herself. With a sign of relief, she let out the smoke and handed it back over.

"Nah, ese, he needs to get home safely tonight." Jade chuckled as she looked over Hawk's body. "His mama is going to kill without the drugs." Hawk flinched at the reminder of having to show his mom the new... him.

Jade walked back over to brunette in the leather jacket and sat down on his lap.

"This is Blake, lead guitarist and lead male vocals." Blake put his hands on Jade's hips and smiled kindly at the boy over her shoulder.

"Hey, man. It's nice to finally meet you, come take a seat with us before we go on."

Hawk just nodded his head and sat down next to Scooter.

"Wicked hair man."

"Thanks, uh, dude." Jade rolled her eyes and leaned into Blake's chest.

"Smooth, Hawk. Smooth."

...

All five of the weirdly dressed outcasts were laughing their hearts out when the band was told they were on in ten. The friends all quickly got up and grabbed their instruments, making way to backstage. Hawk glanced around, trying to look important and busy.

Jade walked up to Hawk, her guitar strapped over her and a pick in her hand. She showed it to him with her palm out and a smirk.

"Kiss it. It's for good luck."

Hawk's eyes flickered down to the pick, then to green eyes, then to red-hair tuning their guitar, then back to green eyes.

Gently, the teen grabbed Jade's hand with both of his and brought it up to his mouth where he lay a kiss over the pick. Blue eyes watch fascinated as red flooded Jade's cheeks and she looked away. Hawk's eyes narrowed.

"Oi, don't look away from me." Hawk let one hand pull Jade's chin over to look at him once more. He smirked at the gorgeous flush across her cheeks. "There's those pretty eyes..."

Jade rolled eyes and attempted to calm down her racing heart.

Well, that's what she gets for teaching her ways...

Jade smirked as the band was introduced and looked back at Hawk.

She blew a kiss his way and went onto the stage to kick some ass.

...

Hawk was having more fun than he'd ever had in his entire fucking life.

Jade's voice was nothing and yet everything he had imaged. On one song, she popped and was able to dictate her voice in an almost whiny way. In another, her voice went raspy and low, almost sensual as hooded eyes gazed across the mosh pit formed below.

The mint haired girl controlled the crowd with every step she took, every note she played, and every curl of lip. Hawk stared at her from the wings of the stage, in awe.

The most surprising?

The screams and growls.

Not just the screams of the crowd, but the screams that accompanied her music. Jade was able to control her vocal chords to let out indescribable ranges.

"I wanna see you fucking move, LA! You disgusting creatures," hollered out Jade into the the microphone during an instrumental. "You are no longer man or woman; poor nor rich; white nor black. You just fucking are!" The crowd below went ballistic as Blake took over a guitar heavy solo.

Jade made her over to the wings, breathing heavily and smirking.

"Whatcha waiting for, chiqui?" Her eyes searched his, challenging him on Hawk's next move. Squishing his face in between her hands, Jade looked manically into blue oceans.

Hawk and Jade had a silent conversation for hours in theirs heads that would never have the right words to speak in real life. Nodding at the teen in front of her, Jade grabbed him by the front of his shirt and dragged him right to the tip of the stage.

The crowd went wild for him.

"Creatures of the night, this is HAWK," Jade smirked to the crowd, the boy starting to feel nervous in front of the crowd. "Give him your absolute best." With that, she turned him around to face her and before their eyes could crash into each other again Jade shoved Hawk with her foot in the chest.

Hawk tried to grab onto something as his eyes widened in fear at the sudden betrayal. Just as he had a split second thought on needing a better friend, hands broke his fall and pushed him across the crowd.

Jade let out a fry scream into the microphone before continuing the upbeat part of the song, while Hawk crowd surfed.

Holy shit.

Holy fucking boxes of hair dye and karate lessons.

He was crowd surfing.

Never in a million year did Eli Moskowitz imagine being up on stage in front of a small population of outcasts, getting Sparta kicked into waiting hands by the hottest girl he'd ever seen.

At the end of the song, Hawk was returned to the stage an outstretched hand waiting for him.

It was a smirking Blake.

Hawk grabbed the hand and the red head helped the teen onto the stage with a pat on the back.

"Great job, man!" yelled Blake with a grin. He gave the kid another pat on the back before returning his hands to the guitar and following Jade's musical lead. Hawk stared at just how fucking awesome these people were and looked over the mosh pit.

Hawk wanted to join the mosh pit.

But just as he was about to head down the stage into the crowd of chaos, Jade let out a final yell into the night.

"Alright you vile animals of LA. We'll see you fuckers next week!" Hawk, still off to the side watched with wide eyes as Blake once again headed over to him and grabbed his wrist. The red head pulled the blue head over to the center of the stage with the rest of the band.

"Give it up for our buddy, Hawk!"

And they all walked off the stage to chants of "Hawk, Hawk, Hawk, Hawk!"

Hawks head was going to explode.

...

"That happened."

Jade chuckled as she walked along side her friend, guitar case in hand. It was now two in the morning on a Saturday evening and Hawk was an adrenaline junky. The girl was settling into her after-high from the weed before the concert, enjoying the teens raving.

As the two stopped in front of Hawk's home, he frowned.

"Are you going to walk home by yourself?"

"Of course, chiqui. Your house was a lot closer than mine and I'll be fine. Yo tengo mi mariposa." Jade pulled out her butterfly knife and flipped it around her hand as Hawk watched in awe.

"Totally fucking badass..." Jade chuckled and put the knife away.

"You were badass tonight, Hawk." The way the mint haired girl said his name made a shiver roll up his spine. "You should come again sometime. The crowd loved you."

Hawk nodded his head, almost a little nervously before looking at his home.

"If I'm ever let out of the house again... I'll definitely be there." His eyes twinkled as he thought about the mosh pit. "I want to mosh next time." Jade nodded with a smirk.

"I'll let you and the other boys do that. I've never been one to enjoy... those types of situations."

Hawk was too caught up on his non-drug high to really focus on her words and nodded with excitement. As silence washed over the two, it was Jade who broke the gaze first and turned away with hand on her neck.

"So, I'll see ya Monday, eh, chiqui?"

Hawk smirked, enjoying Jade's flustered state. He never had such control before and to watch the shift in the girls stance because of him...

"Yeah, I'll see you around, babe." With a wink and a smirk on his lips, Hawk turned around and walked to his front door. He didn't even look back at the girl.

But he could feel it in his soul the red the flooded that girl's face.

It was divine.

...

A/N:

I always wondered what made Eli switch so quickly to Hawk.

Here you see a very toxic and unrealistic manipulation of personality.

I know she's sixteen and had only a few years of vocal training but please imagine her voice being of Paramore and Halestorm. Jade speaks in a very alto voice, deep and soothing but has built her range up over the years with constant practice. I also want to say that all songs sung by her and mentioned are not mine but are from those two bands. She's just going to write them for sake of story.

Answer: This is a hard one, why did I ask this? Maybe Kyler's friend who Hawk fucked up in season 4. Something about him just makes me roll my eyes.

Question: Which character would you want to help plan your wedding?
