The next morning, shortly after dawn, Vic felt herself being shaken awake. She quietly groaned as she began to hear the voice of someone calling her name.

"Vic," the voice called out as she was still being shaken. She finally opened her eyes to see that the voice was Teddy; his hair was the same shade of strawberry blonde as hers was. It was a shade she had never seen him wear before, and frankly, it didn't suit him well at all.

"Vic," he said again.

"What," she groaned as she found the energy to prop herself up on her elbows.

"My parents are downstairs," Teddy told her; his hair turning its normal shade of turquoise.

"Yeah," she said, not exactly following him. "Don't you remember yesterday? Or should I say thousands of days in the future?"

He rolled his eyes, "of course I remember, but Vic, my parents are downstairs. They are merely a walk down a flight of stairs from me. I mean that's not something that I'm exactly used to here!"

Vic thought about that for a moment. He was right- for what is a simple, everyday occurrence for Vic was something that Teddy had never experienced- at least not in his memory. It was also weird to hear Remus and Tonks to be referred to in the present tense. It's always "they were" or "they will," never "they are."

"Huh," she said, honestly at a lost for words. "I mean...I guess that's a pretty big change."

Teddy looked at her, dumbfounded, "a pretty big change?"

"I'm sorry," Vic corrected, "I don't exactly know how to respond to this."

"Neither do I," Teddy admitted. "What do I even say to them? Hey Mum and Dad, I'm going to play catch up with you, even though you didn't know I existed twenty-four hours ago, because you're six feet under the ground in my time. I don't think that will work very well."

"I suppose not," said Vic lamely. "I really have no idea, Teddy. I'm sorry."

Teddy nodded, "let's get downstairs. I smell Grandma Molly's cooking."

The two of them walked out of the bedroom and down to the kitchen- which was only occupied by Molly and Sirius.

"See," Sirius shouted triumphantly. "I told you I didn't dream it! Bill and Fleur had a daughter, and Remus had a son with Tonks!"

Vic shot a look to Teddy before they both sat down at the table awkwardly. Moments later, Remus came through the kitchen's entrance. He stopped in his tracks upon seeing the wide smirk painted on Sirius's face.

"What is it, Pads," Remus asked cautiously.

"Oh it's nothing, Moony. I'm just curious as to what you've been getting up to with my baby cousin," Sirius asked mischievously.

Remus rolled his eyes before walking over to the stove and pouring himself a cup of tea. He turned towards Vic and Teddy, "would either of you like tea?"

"Yes please," said Teddy. "No milk with sugar."

"I'll have some too," said Vic. "Only milk in mine."

"Moony," whined Sirius, "you didn't answer my question. What have you been getting up to with my cousin?"

Remus ignored him again as he handed both children heir respective cups of tea. He took a seat next to Teddy and began to drink his own.

"Moony," Sirius whined again.

Remus sighed, "if you must know, nothing yet."

"Oh, nothing yet," Sirius asked with a smirk.

"Sirius, i'm sitting next to Tonks' and I's son. Do the math. I'm ending this conversation for Teddy's sake as I don't think he's finding this conversation very enjoyable."

"Nope, not at all," Teddy said before taking a sip from his tea.

They waited for everyone to come down to the kitchen before they were able to begin coming up with a plan.

"Dumbledore sent word after you two went to bed last night," Bill explained to them. "He said he will be over by early afternoon, but until then, you are to not leave this house. Everyone in this kitchen, aside from Tonks' parents, are the only people who know about you."

"How do we get home," asked Vic.

"We don't know yet," said Tonks. "From what Dumbledore explained briefly in his message, it's probably going to need to be done by people in your time. We can try and send communication to them, but those opportunities are very limited."

"We also don't know how much time has passed in your time," added Arthur. "What is a day here could only be a minute passed."

"So basically, we could be stuck here for a while," asked Teddy.

The entire room nodded.

"We're sorry," said Remus, "we know it's not the best nor the most concrete information, but it's a start nonetheless."

"It's alright," Vic reassured him.

"Yeah," Teddy agreed, giving Remus a smile, "like you said, it's a start."

"Very well," said Molly, "I believe there should be a chess set and maybe a game of exploding snap left upstairs, if you two would like to play. Just avoid any of the twins' things, I don't want either of your returning home injured."

Later, Victoire sat with Teddy in their shared bedroom, playing with Uncle Ron's chess set. Vic had just checkmated Teddy's King, which would normally cause an uproar on Teddy'a part, but he remained silent.

"Vic," he said quietly, almost as though he were embarrassed by what he was about to say. "Vic, I don't want to go home."

"Why not," Vic asked confused.

"Look, I love everyone back at home, but I have something here that I'll never have at home," explained Teddy. "I don't want to lose my parents again."

"But Teddy, we're going to have to go home eventually," said Vic.

"Maybe not," said Teddy, "they didn't seem so sure it was even possible downstairs. Maybe if we stay here I can convince my parents to stay home from the battle, then I won't have to lose them."

"But Teddy, we need to go home," said Vic. "We have to. I want to."

Teddy looked at her for a moment, hurt flittered across his face, before pushing himself off of the floor, "then you'll just have to go without me."

Vic got up to follow him, "Teddy, that's mad! You can't!"

"Watch me," he said before walking out of the room.
