I Run On Black Coffee and Spite (Maybe a little Ray of Sunshine): The Reward Chart

By: M14Mouse

Summary: Midoriya and his friends offer Shinsou a reward chart that he can't refuse. Or Todoroki Show Up to Make Sure That Midoriya Doesn't break any bones in name of friendship.

Disclaimer: Don't own them.

Shinsou was sandwiched between a blonde and the half and half guy from the tournament on the sofa in Class 1-B's living area. Scattered around the room were more of Midoriya's friends. He recalled Testutetsu from their runs but everyone was vaguely familiar from the sport festival. In front of them was Midoriya and their class president, Kendo? With a chart of some sort on some type of easel.

"Why am I here?" He said.

"Kendo and I were talking…." Midoriya started.

"Beside getting into the hero course, we thought of a reward chart," Kendo added.

He snorted.

"I'm not a little kid," He said.

"Don't knock until you try it," A girl with horns on her head said.

"It worked for Mido," The blonde…Monoma? next to him said.

"Really? He still broke his hand when he fought me," The half and half guy added.

"Better than breaking his entire body," Kendo pointed out.

"That is true."

"Gran helped me work out the rest," Midoriya said.

Okay, he was curious.

"What were his rewards?" He asked.

"Notebooks, pencils, hero stuff, highlighters and interviews. Well…the interview thing ended up helping everyone. So, that was a joint reward," Kendo said.

"Interview?"

"I like analyzing quirks. So, I got to analyze everyone in class. Well…more or less."

The blonde beamed.

"It was thanks to Mido's skills that we crashed Class 1-A. It still brings a tear to my eye,"Monoma said with a grin.

"I still came in second," The half and half guy said.

The blonde shrugged.

"Two out of three isn't too bad."

"Okay…what is my reward? I don't want notebooks," He said.

"In honor of you not falling into the flower bed after our run," Midoriya stated.

"Komori, bring it out!" Kendo shouted.

A girl with long brown hair that almost covered her face came in from the kitchen with a cup. She walked over and set the cup in front of him. He could smell the rich aroma of the coffee.

"You are trying to bribe me with coffee?" Shinsou said.

"Don't knock it until you try it," Komori said with a grin.

He leaned over from the sofa and grabbed the cup from the table. He took a deep breath.

It did smell good.

He took a sip.

Oh…

My….

He is going to marry this cup of coffee.

"YES! Told you that it would be a good reward!" Midoriya beamed.

"Wow…what did you give him? He is smiling," Monoma asked Komori.

"Are drugs in it?" Half and Half guy asked.

"NO! Todoroki!" Midoriya shouted.

Komori sighed.

"Mido and I have been working on a project."

"Crap," Testutetsu mumbled.

"Why does everyone treat that as a bad thing?" Komori said as she put her hands on her hips.

"It isn't!? Everyone who had a "project" with Mido ended up with some new super move or crazy thing with their quirks. We have training tomorrow!? I don't want to be stuck to the wall again!"

The girl with the horns snickered.

"It isn't like that. We have been testing out her mushrooms on different surfaces. OF course, organic surfaces work best in most cases. If there is too much water on the surface, it is harder for her mushrooms to form. There is a difference between porous and nonporous surfaces…" Midoriya mumbled.

"SHHH! Don't ruin it! Tell them about the coffee and mushrooms!" Komori said.

"Well…apparently, mushrooms and coffee are a thing. So, we made you a cup with Monoma's French coffee press." Midoriya added.

"I grew the best Chaga mushrooms and…"

"We made Mr. Aizawa a cup. He loved it. So, we figured that you would like it too!"

"….Did you even tell him that he was drinking it?" He asked.

The pair looked at each other.

"Mr. Van thought it was a good idea," Midoriya said nervously.

"WE were practicing our stealth," Komori said.

He stared at the cup then he shrugged.

"Well, he didn't die and said this is the best coffee that I ever had. So…what is the next reward?"

"We can't show you all of your rewards but to showcase a few…." Kendo said.

"For not tripping or getting tangled in your capture scarf, your next prize will be…"

The girl with horns moved from her spot to reveal something behind her back.

She stood in front of him to reveal the cutest damn sheet of cat stickers.

They were chubby little kittens playing with yarn.

"I hate you," He said to Midoriya, who beamed.

"You want them, right?" The girl with horns said.

He eyed the sheet of stickers.

"Yes."

"Beside, you will be helping us lighten Pony's box that she plans to send home," Kendo said with a knowing look.

Pony stuck out her tongue.

"Her parents kind of made us monitor her since her room is getting fill up with boxes that she shipped back," Midoriya added.

"You have such cute stuff! Besides, some of them are presents!" Pony said in protest.

"We have seen a picture of your room, Tsunotori. I don't think that all of them are presents," The blonde added.

"Fukidashi said she is running out of room and something about a shed? She is only allowed to ship envelope size packages now," Testutetsu said.

"Or Mido. Mom, Dad and Nana love Mido. She said if there was a way to ship him, she would allow it," Tsunotori said with a grin.

"Pony! I was just helping!" Midoriya shouted as his face turned bright red.

"Green bean is the right size and I can see why your parents loved him," He said with a smirk.

Midoriya ducked his head and tried to hide his blushing face.

He wondered if he should torment him a little longer or see what the other rewards were.

Hmmm….

"An…Anyway…there is mo..more," Midoriya mumbled.

There was a cute kitten pencil case, coffee, and a few odd and ends.

"Now for your ultimate reward when you get into the hero course...," Kendo said as she flipped over the reward chart to see the fluffy white cat.

"This is Princess. She is one of the cats at the best cat cafes in the city," Tsunotori said.

"Eri-chan said that she is like petting a cloud," Midoriya said.

"Princess is an excellent cat but Coco will curl up on your lap and purr," Monoma said.

"I like Chia. He climbed the chair and curled up on the base of your neck," Todoroki said happily.

"All of the cats like Todoroki. It isn't fair," Kendo said.

"Expect Muffins," Monoma said with a smirk.

"Because you bribe Muffins," Tsunotori said.

"So?"

"Best of all, it has the best food and drinks!" Komori said excitedly.

"You know that I could google it and go myself," He said.

He could google it and go there himself.

"You could…but we are paying for it," Kendo added.

"Okay, you win."

"YES!"

He will not smile.

HE WILL NOT SMILE!

Instead he turned to Todoroki and said.

"Why are you here?"

"For two reasons…one, to volunteer my dad's credit card for your reward. Remember to buy the most expensive on the menu. Two, is to make sure that Midoriya doesn't break his bones in the name of friendship…," Todoroki said.

"I haven't broken anything in a while!" Midoriya shouted.

"Because you haven't made any new friends yet."

"Wait…that is a thing?" He asked.

"Sport Festival," Todoroki said.

"Villain attack," Tsunotori added.

"Training exercise," Kendo added.

"Technically, he didn't break anything with me. Soo….," Testutetsu said.

"Me too but…trip to the store had some injuries," Komori said.

He glanced over at Monoma.

"He just got a concussion and mild cuts with me," Monoma added.

"What the hell?!" He said to Midoriya.

"They are my friends and classmates! I didn't want you to get hurt!" Midoriya said in a panic.

"We don't want you to get hurt either!" Tsunotori said as she put her hands on her hips.

"Tsunotori is correct. We worry about your safety as well," Monoma added.

Midoriya's face started to turn red.

"You guys are forgetting something…we aren't friends. I'm not here to make friends," He said.

There was a moment of silence as the group stared at him.

"Oh, bless his little heart," Tsunotori said.

"He is going to break something now, isn't he? Tenya isn't going to be happy," Todoroki mumbled.

"I'm not going to break anything. If Shinsou doesn't want to make friends, that is fine. I want to help him with his dream because I think that he will be a great hero!" Midoriya beamed at him.

He glanced over at Midoriya. It wasn't fake. Midoriya's smile and warmth was real. He felt his entire face turn red then he felt a pat on his shoulder.

"Just accept it now before he breaks anything," Todoroki said.

He huffed.

"Fine. Only ones from 1-B. I still have to get into your class."

"The…" Monoma started before stopping with a nudge from Midoriya, who sat down next to Monoma. Midoriya titled his head and smiled at Monoma.

Monoma sighed.

"Fine."

Midoriya beamed.

He knew that this guy liked to trash talk the other class (He was loud enough). For Midoriya to stop him like that….

"Amazing, isn't it?! Midoriya's secondary quirk is a Disney Princess," Tsunotori said

"We have a list!" Komori added.

Oh, yes, he got to hear this. He won't let Midoriya live it down.

"Bring it," He said.

"You guys!"

End of The Reward Chart

Next Chapter: Sorry to Say or This is the chapter where Midoriya breaks something in the name of Friendship

A/N: Yes, coffee and mushrooms are a thing. Why? I have no idea. I plan for no bashing in this series. Just a little green bean bringing the school together in utter chaos and humor. Currently, I'm working on two different stories for the series. One is the introduction of Mido's business friend and Provisional Exam (I am one of the few in fandom that love this arc. So, there.) Anyway, thanks for the wonderful reviews, favorites, etc. :D Read and Review if you wish.
