I Run On Black Coffee and Spite (Maybe a little Ray of Sunshine): Sorry to Say

By: M14Mouse

Summary: This is the chapter where Midoriya breaks something in the name of Friendship and scares Tenya into an early grave.

Disclaimer: Don't own them.

"You broke it. I'm going to die," Shinsou said in horror at Midoriya's hand.

Tsunotori showed him where they hid the bodies.

"It isn't! It is just slightly bruised," Midoriya said as he stared at his bruised hand like it happened every day.

"That isn't a slight bruise!" He said in a panic.

His friends are going to kill him. Slowly. Probably with Tsunotori with her horns.

Fuck.

Green Bean sighed.

"It isn't broken. See? I can move it."

He may or may not have felt the color drain from his face when he heard an uncomfortable noise.

Fuck it.

That is broken.

"Midoriya, he is correct. It is broken," Tenya said with a sigh.

They were training one more time. His goal was to catch Tenya with his capture scarf. Agility. Speed. Planning.

Who knew the Green Bean would be a good trainer? He put him through his paces without killing him. Although, right now, he wished for death. Sensei warned him that it was coming soon. His trial by fire.

His shot.

Maybe, he can talk them into that coffee again because he felt another sleepless night ahead of him.

Okay, sleep is overrated and he always has sleepless nights.

But still….

He didn't want the Green Bean to get hurt.

Fuck.

"I think that you broke him, Midoriya," Tenya's voice cut through his thoughts.

"Sorry? Hey, Shinsou. It is okay, I promise," Green Bean said with concern.

"They are going to kill me," He said in a panic.

Maybe, they do quickly.

"They won't kill you."

He would say that.

"Maybe, I should get Recovery Girl?" Tenya mumbled.

"No, I think that it is nerves. I think that we were all nervous wrecks before, during, and after our exams," Midoriya said.

"I was talking about you, Midoriya."

"I'm fine. Tenya will tell you that I mumbled during my entrance exam."

"He did. And I…may have run into a wall or two while trying to study my notes."

He snorted. That sounded like a Tenya thing to do.

Tenya coughed.

"What I'm trying to say is that it is okay to be nervous. You should be reassured that you have people that believe in you."

He stared at Tenya like he lost his mind. These hero students were supposed to be afraid for their spots.

They believe in him and want him to be there.

WHAT THE HELL?!

"I just don't understand. Honestly, I don't. Why are you helping me so much? You should be mocking me or…or undermining me or…something!" He said in a panic.

"I would never….That isn't the behavior of a hero!" Tenya said with the weird chopping thing he does.

Green Bean gave him a sheepish look while he scratched the back of his head with his broken hand.

…..

Does Green Bean even feel that?

Does he really want to know?

"I think because our classes are different. We were attacked together. We fought together. I think that bonded us more than any other class in UA. Half of school mumbles when we walk by. Some point at us. Mei-chan says that business students have bets on which teacher and student are going to quit first. And you want to join us? We aren't going to stop you. We are going to help you," Midoriya beamed.

"Yes! We do. I already have your notes," Tenya added.

"Notes?" He asked

"I didn't want you to fall behind when you joined the class. Your hero work is just as important as your academic work."

Crap…he is going to have a lot of reading ahead of him.

"You are going to make me read, aren't you?" He said.

"It is no worse than Midoriya's notebooks," Tenya said.

"At least, it has pictures and details on how to kill everyone in their sleep."

"No…no…no…they aren't going to kill anyone! I'm just pointing out their strengths and weaknesses," Midoriya mumbled in a panic

"Green Bean, there is a reason why everyone keeps the salt and the fire extinguishers away from you," He pointed out.

"I knew about the fire extinguishers but salt?' Tenya said with a frown.

"From what I heard, Green Bean, over here figured out creative ways to end you and Todoroki," He said smugly to Tenya.

Tenya adjusted his glasses. Clearly, the look on his face screamed someone is afraid to ask but really wants to. Monoma was right. It is fun to see Green Bean's brain focus on someone else.

"Go….on," Tenya said slowly.

Of course, he chooses death.

"When metal is exposed to oxygen and water, it develops rust. Salt…well, salt water speeds up the progress. If it was the summer, I would throw cold salt water. If it was the winter, I would throw hot salt water. Rapid temperatures differences speed up the process to matter of minutes depending on the metal. It doesn't help that Tenya's quirk runs tend to run up his body temperature which will also increase the rate of rust. This could destroy your engines in about 5 minutes," Midoriya mumbled.

"How…do you know that?"

"How much you sweat. Your quirk runs similar to a car. Instead of gas, your quirk runs on juice. Like a car driving down the highway, how force you put on "petal" drives on how much fuel you use. You have nothing to worry about. Mostly, your leg casting works great at preventing sweat from hitting your engines. So, chances of developing rust and destroying your engines are low."

Mostly….that is the word that Tenya should take away from that conversation.

From training with Green Bean for a few weeks now, he knew that Midoriya figured out how to work around that.

Nice knowing you, Tenya.

Judging by the expression on Tenya's face, he knew it too.

"And…Todoroki?"

"Salt prevents snow and ice from sticking to roads. Same thing applies and it doesn't help that he starts his ice attack the same way either. Even if it doesn't stop the attack completely, it is enough to catch him off guard."

Bye, Todoroki.

Tenya may or may not have made the sound of a dying cat after that statement.

Poor guy.

"Although, this has been fun on how to kill people in their sleep. We need to go to Recovery Girl," He said.

"I'm not going to kill anyone and nothing is wrong with my hand!" Green Bean said.

"Midoriya, as your friends, we worry about your health. It would be wise to have Recovery Girl look at it," Tenya said.

Man…this guy has the worst puppy dog eyes.

But…it seemed to work.

Green Bean sighed.

"Fine."

And guess what?

To no one's surprise, Green Bean broke his hand.

Todoroki was right.

Apparently, this is Green Bean's way of making friends.

He really needed to stop making friends this way for everyone involved.

Even him.
