Hello! Thank you so much to everyone who left a review, I'm delighted :D Here's the 2nd story, dedicated to my friend ChibiDawn23 - thank you for the prompt!

Mac looked around in trepidation. Somehow, in all the years he'd lived in New York, he had managed to never set foot inside the city's famous toy store. Until now. Quite how Stella had persuaded him to visit FAO Schwarz two weeks before Christmas, he wasn't sure.

Looking at him with amusement, Stella read his thoughts. 'Better get used to it, my love. This is going to be the first of many visits here.'

He grunted while Stella chuckled. 'Your daddy's going to be spending a whole lot of money in this place over the next few years, isn't he baby girl? Yes he is,' she cooed at Holly, who jigged in the carrier on Stella's front. The baby gurgled and smiled before blowing bubbles at her mother. Mac watched Stella laugh in delight at her and felt the now-familiar swoosh of adoration for his daughter.

'I'm already setting aside money for her toy fund,' he said dryly. 'It's never too soon to start.'

'Absolutely.'

'But isn't she a little young for most toys yet?' Mac tried to argue as they ventured further into the store.

'They have a baby section,' Stella pointed to the sign and Mac sighed.

'Of course they do.'

A look of exaggerated shock appeared on Stella's face. 'Mac, tell me you're not going to deny your baby girl toys right before Christmas.'

Mac simply stared and a grin broke across Stella's face, just as Holly decided the best thing to play with was her mother's curls. Stella yelped and Mac hurried to help detangle the tiny fingers.

Handing her one of several spare hair ties he kept in his jacket pocket, Mac entertained Holly while Stella tied her hair out of reach of the baby.

Stella held Holly's hands and sang softly to her while they roamed around the baby section. Despite trying to remain impervious to the pastel cornucopia of baby toys and nursery playthings, Mac knew he was weakening. By the time he picked up a small plush bear (one of the softest things he'd ever touched) with an exclamation he knew that the battle was lost. Stella sent him a sideways glance, accompanied by a smirk.

'Cute, huh?'

'It's pretty nice,' he admitted and Stella laughed, Holly chuckling and gurgling with her.

'What do you think, baby girl?' Mac held the bear out to his daughter. 'Do you like him?'

Kicking her legs and burbling with excitement, Holly stretched out her arms and snatched the bear from her father's hands.

'I think that's a yes,' Stella said with raised eyebrows. 'That's some strength our daughter has in her arms.'

Mac nodded, still finding the words our daughter brought him a shock of joy. 'Let daddy have him back, baby girl.'

But the bear was going nowhere. Six month old Holly knew what she wanted and the bear stayed grasped in her tiny fist.

'Toy fund raid?' Stella said with a knowing grin, and Mac nodded.

'Lead me to the registers.'
