A few days later…

The lifeboat has been floating in the water for a long time now. The storm has since passed, but the S.S. Onward was long gone. Nikita and a few of her friends had been separated from the others. The young sea monster was clearly upset about their predicament. She looked around and saw the distressed look on their faces. They were lost at sea with no apparent hope for calling help. They spent the next few days sitting in the lifeboat, waiting for any signs of rescue. But as time passes, any hope of rescue soon fades. Nikita, however, wasn't ready to give up yet as she knew that her best friend NightStar would be coming for them. She knew that she had most likely sent out a search team to find them by now. The group had spent their time reading magazines and playing games to pass the time. Nikita had even fashioned a fishing rod to try to catch some fish to eat. But so far she was unsuccessful and her friends started to grow hungry.

"How long have we been out here?" Cooper asked. "Approximately: I have no idea." Lenny said. "Nikki? Do you have any ideas on how to signal for help?" Sammy asked. "Nope. I can't think of anything." Nikita said.

As the group began to mope around, Nikita felt completely helpless. She felt like she had failed to keep her friends safe. She felt like she had failed NightStar, her closest friend. But Nikita had to stay strong, she had to stay vigilant. She had to protect this small group of friends from whatever dangers may befall them out in the ocean. She would protect Cooper and Darnell for their parents sake. Nikita hoped that Kaldur'ahm would assemble a search and rescue team to find them too.

Ella began to hum a song to herself while Sammy looked out into the sea. She wondered how Jasmine was doing without her. She missed her friend dearly and wished to see her again. Lenny also missed his friends and longed to hear their voices. Cooper and his brother missed their parents very much. They've become separated from them again like they did 20 years prior. They couldn't even imagine what their parents had been through all those years and they couldn't imagine them going through this again. Nikita could see the sadness on her friends faces and felt very distressed. She wished she could help them somehow, but she didn't know how.

"Hey! Why don't you sing a song for us, Nikki?" Ella suggested. "Yeah! Maybe a song will cheer us up." Sammy said. "Well... Okay, if you say so." Nikita said. "And I know the perfect one too."

Everyone gathered around her as she prepared to sing for them. Nikita took a deep breath and started to sing.

Nikita: Set your sails for adventure

Set your sails for romance

Set your sails for the dream of a lifetime

Give love a chance

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails for the islands

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails for the sun

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails for that far off horizon

Where we'll be one

Long before our land has been sighted

Our lips and our hearts will be united

Everyone: Be united

Nikita: Set your sails for the tropics

Set your sails for the sea

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails for the rest of forever

And spend it with me

Set your sails

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails

Everyone: Set your sails

Nikita: Set your sails

Set your sails

Everyone clapped their hands together as Nikita bowed. She was happy to entertain her friends, but it still doesn't help with their situation. They didn't know how long they've been out here and they didn't know where the ark was. They had no way of contacting the ship for help and they were running out of supplies. Nikita hoped that NightStar would handled things until she gets back. She trusted her friend to somehow find a way to rescue them and bring them back to the S.S. Onward alive.

"Wow! That was incredible!" Ella said, joyfully. "Thanks, happy to help." Nikita said. "You really are an amazing singer." Cooper said. "So true, so true indeed." Nikita said. "I've had years of practice."

But this wasn't enough to cheer the group up. They were still lost at sea and had no idea where they were. They had only a few bottles of freshwater and some food left to last only a few days. But Nikita knew that they'd soon run out. Ella knew deep down that they weren't going to last any longer and knew she had to do something. So she started singing, much to everyone's dismay.

"Ella, this isn't the best time to be singing." Prince D said.

Then suddenly, some bottlenose dolphins appeared and swam towards the lifeboat. One came close to Ella and she leaped onto its back. The group was stunned that she had contacted the dolphins to help when she could've done so much earlier. Nikita, however, was proud of Ella for her connection with animals. She reminded her of another friend of hers: Dawn.

"I've called my beloved dolphin friends to help me find the ship." She said, determinedly. "That's a great idea! Thanks, Ella." Sammy said. "No problem." Ella said. "When you find the ark, tell NightStar where we are." Nikita said. "I promise!" Ella called out as the dolphins began to swim away.

The group said their goodbyes to Ella as she left with the dolphins to search for the S.S. Onward and seek help for them. They hoped that she'd be alright and make it to safety.

"So... What do we do now?" Sammy asked. "I don't know. We'll have to wait for Ella to return with help." Nikita said. "That could take forever." Lenny said. "How about we play "I Spy" again?" Sammy asked. "Okay then. I spy something that is blue." Prince D said. "The ocean?" Nikita asked. "Correct!" Prince D called out. "I spy something in the distance that is green." Cooper said, pointing out towards the ocean.

The group stared at where he was pointing and spotted the patch of green. Nikita knew exactly what that green patch was: an island! She knew now that they were going to have a chance for survival. Now they'll have some hope for rescue after all.

"Guys! We're saved!" She shouted gleefully.

Song: Set Your Sails by Jem and the Holograms.

From this moment forward, Ella has left the lifeboat, leaving the remaining five to survive on their own together. They've found a desert island to live on until Ella returns with help.
