Oregairu x Nisekoi
Youth are very simple, yet at the same time they are complex. You would think that such a thing isn't possible, but you'd be surprised.
For example, the very idea of 'romance' in the mind of the youth is so very complex; yet from a spectator's point of view it seems like very little.
Let's say a boy wants to hold a girl's hand, for whatever reason. All he has to do is reach out and take her hand, yeah?
That's where you are right, but also wrong.
This boy might be having an internal dilemma. 'What if she thinks this is too forward?', 'Should I ask first?', 'What if she notices how nervous I am?'. Et cetera, et cetera.
In short, teenagers are the embodiment of oxymorons. They contradict themselves with their own actions. Say one thing, do another. Believe another thing, but act another way.
Now, I wouldn't usually put too much attention to the intricacies of romance from the perspective of both the teen and the outside viewer. After all, youth is simply just a lie.
However, in just a single day, I find myself in one such 'relationship'. Of course, it's a fake relationship, but it exists nonetheless.
The verdict you may be wondering?
It sucks.
Don't even get me started on how much worse it gets down the line. My life basically delves head first into anime-esque territory. I somehow make a bunch of new 'friends', deal with dangerous individuals, and end up in a love triangle. Well, a love triangle is a bit of a stretch, but that's for you to decide.
You may be wondering, 'How does the simple concept of getting into a relationship turn into something so… complicated?'
Well, like I said, youth is stupidly complicated, but to know that we must start from the beginning.
And when I mean beginning, I mean a couple weeks into the school year.

My name is Hikigaya Hachiman. I like to think of myself as fairly average, aside from being 2nd in my year for Japanese. No idea who's in first, but that doesn't matter.
What does matter is that aside from being completely unnoticeable and an absolute shadow to the people around me, I happen to have a fairly interesting family situation.
That family happens to be Yakuza.
Yeah yeah, I know. Dropping the ball like that without any warning or a decent buildup is a bit lacking, but I don't care.
I just happen to be first in line to taking this business over. That's cool and all, but I'd much rather pursue a different career choice.
Oh well, at least I look the part.
After getting ready in the morning, I headed down to the dining room. Probably the loudest place in the house. You'll find out why.
I entered the dining area to find it just as packed as normal. The usual grunts, early as always.
"Good morning!"
"Ah- Good morning young master!"
"Young master!"
So on and so forth. Imagine about 30 men all waiting around for breakfast to get ready. It's a lot of good mornings, to say the least.
No idea why they're so enthusiastic around me though. Especially since the one actually cooking breakfast was made for this kind of attention, while I am not.
The kitchen doors swing open, a single figure standing there clad in an apron and chef's hat.
"Breakfast is served~!"
Peace sign in one hand and ladle in the other, Komachi let everyone know that we could finally grab our food.
Yes, this is my little sister, Hikigaya Komachi, second in line to this household. In short, she's cute and everyone likes her.
Like I said earlier, I have no idea why the guys are so nice to me when there's Komachi, but they practically treat us as equals.
If I had to guess, I probably reminded them of my dad, dead eyes and all.
Komachi hopped over to where I was sitting and gave me my breakfast, along with a bento.
"Here's your breakfast, Onii-chan. I also went out of my way to prepare your lunch as well. Kyaa~ that earned me a bunch of Komachi points!"
"Yeah yeah, thanks for the food. And for lunch. I will enjoy it immensely."
The rest of the morning was fairly uneventful, what I would consider uneventful anyway. Do you know how hard it is to operate with so many grunts wandering the premises greeting you everytime you pass them?
The only thing out of the ordinary was when my dad messaged me that he'd need to talk to me later. And when I mean message, I mean he sent a guy over to inform me word for word what he said. Which was completely unnecessary, as half of what he said wasn't even part of the message.
After that, I quickly grabbed my bike and rode down to school.
As tiring it is to grab a bike and ride it all the way to school, it's far better than the alternative. The last thing I want is everyone on the campus paying attention to me simply because I rode a limo to school. Fortunately, only a select few at school actually know of my family business.
I parked and chained my bike as I headed on to class.
As I was walking down one of the many pathways, I heard loud footsteps.
Where is that coming from? I don't see anyone around that's ru-
Just then, a shadow looms overhead. As I looked up, I saw a girl falling from the sky.
*SMACK*
Who proceeds to cushion their fall with my face.
"AAHGK." I cried out as my body collapsed underneath the weight of another human.
Despite the encompassing pain that circulated throughout my body, I could hear a single "Sorry!" as the girl ran off to… somewhere.
The hell. That hurt way too much! Just who was that anyway? Eh, it doesn't matter. It's not like we'll ever interact ever again.
I picked myself up as I proceeded to head to my class as though nothing happened.

As I opened the door to class 1-C, I was greeted with the usual chatter that filled the room before school started.
I would like to say that my entrance went unnoticed by my fellow students, but we can't have everything, now can we.
"Hey Hachima- Woah!"
"Hikigaya, what happened!?"
Yes, these two are individuals you could call 'friends'. Hard to believe, I know.
The first of the two, Maiko Shu, happens to be one of the first guys I met when getting into high school. Although, I'm not quite sure why he hangs around me. His explanation is just plain stupid, considering how we met, but I'll get to that later.
My second 'friend' in this plane of existence is Onodera Kosaki. Now, how I became acquainted with her also happened to be on the first day of high school.
I was riding my bike on the way to school. Took a while to convince the guys not to take me in the limo, but it was worth not completely embarrassing myself.
As I was heading to school, I saw what looked to be a middle school girl who tripped on her shoe laces while crossing the street. Or at least I think that's what was happening.
As that was happening, I realized that the lights had changed colors and one car looked like it was in a hurry.
A/N: Then the chapter ends right there. I really should've written my ideas down for this fic. Despite its quality, it had me hooked. I think I know where I was going with it, but I can't really say for sure. Might try rewriting this in the future.
