RWBY SI
Chapter 1
I slowly raised my body off the ground into a sitting position. Hands pressing down on the cold concrete floor.
Ugh… I feel awful. It's almost like I slept on a rock-
My eyes shot open, darting left and right in an attempt to find out where I am.
A cool breeze passed by as I realized I didn't recognize any of my immediate surroundings.
Okay, I need to stay relatively calm. From the looks of it, I've just been kidnapped and dropped in an unfamiliar city.
As I stand up and brush the dirt off my clothing, the first clue arises to who my kidnappers may be.
What kind of person drops an unsuspecting victim in the middle of a city with completely different clothing?
Examining my body, I find that I don't own anything on me. That being a black trench coat, dark gray vest, black dress shirt, gray tie, gray dress pants, and black running shoes.
Assuming that the weight in the pants pocket aren't just my imagination, I quickly grab whatever it is.
Only to find a weird metal stick.
I rotated the metal contraption in my hand, hoping to find a better hint as to why I woke up in the middle of a sidewalk.
The answer comes with a quick *SHLCK* as I slid the device open.
Wha- how is this physically possible? No phone on Earth is this technologically advanced.
Deciding to stop wasting time with unanswerable questions, I tapped on what looked to be a messaging app.
The images on the screen shifted as a message list appeared.
I quickly picked the first one in the list.
Dear Main Character,
You have been summoned to a new mystical world where the impossible can happen. You've been provided with the necessary means to survive and the potential to change the world. Want to know where we've sent you? Take a quick look at the moon. So basically, you're the main protagonist to this little thing we've set up. If you're worried about how to get integrated into the plot, fear not! We've upped your luck by a bunch, so you're borderline Gary Stu levels of luck. Anyway, influence the plot, save lives, and most importantly, be entertaining. We'll be watching, so have a blast.
Sincerely, Purple Neon Green Deity
P.S. You could also totally get a harem if you want, just letting you know.
So, you may be wondering how I feel at this very moment. Well, not much to be perfectly honest. Just kind of dull, depressed, and wishing this was a dream.
Why didn't I just assume this was a dream? Well, whenever I have a dream, I kind of just assume it's real until I wake up.
I sit down on the curb and begin to collect my thoughts on what just happened to me.
Okay… I have become the very thing that I hate. A shoehorned self insert character who inexplicably is good at everything, etc etc. All because some higher level beings want to watch me for entertainment or something.
My hands curl into fists as I try to formulate a plan.
You know what? These mystical beings want me to change the plot, interact with characters, become some super power in this world. I have only one thing to say about that…
"Screw you!" I shouted to the sky. Some people walking around gave me weird looks.
Instead of doing that, I'll do the exact opposite! I'll use this 'luck' of mine to make some money, get an apartment, and NOT get involved with the plot. I'll live a peaceful and quiet life that isn't chaotic or anything of the sort.
To start… I took out what I now assumed to be a scroll and opened it up. I would've marveled at how cool it was, but was too busy trying to find out about who I am in this world, if I had some backstory.
Looking through the device, I found that I was called Platin Telvis, around the age of 15, and about 1 year before the start of RWBY. I'm also a legal citizen of Vale, which is fairly convenient. Don't have to worry about people realizing that I suddenly popped out of nowhere.
With that out of the way. I turned on the camera on the scroll so I could get a good look at my appearance.
Huh, not too much has changed appearance wise.
On the scroll I saw myself. Although, my hair was black instead of brown. And my eyes… You got to be kidding me.
Did they really have to go and change my eye color like that? And to this specific eye color. That's going to make it so much harder to stay anonymous around certain people. This sucks.
There was a pair of grayish-silver eyes. Yeah, you heard that right. They really want me to be some sort of important protagonist, don't they.
Moving on, I need to make money. Considering I'm flat broke.
I reached into my pockets again, hoping I could find something to help me. Aside from what I had earlier, I found a pair of golden dice.
Huh. Let's find out just how good this 'luck' is.
"I will roll a three and a one." I then rolled the dice on the ground and to some surprise, got a three and a one.
"Uh, I will roll a total of 11." I rolled the dice once more and got a six and a five.
"Next, I will get three rolls of just twos." After which, I threw four rolls. The first three being just twos, and the last being a four and six.
Okay, that confirms that I do in fact have control over this luck. I just have to be careful it doesn't get me into any trouble with the main characters.
I pocket my dice and walk down the street. After a few minutes, I came across a casino.
Because of the amplified luck, sneaking in wasn't too difficult. After that, most people probably assumed I was just a young adult.
The casino was like any other. Game tables, flashing lights, a bar, etc. First thing I did was look for any card games, since those were fairly luck based.
After a bit of wondering, I found what looked to be a game unlike poker.
I took one of the empty seats and looked at the host.
"Deal me in."
XxXxX
Now, let it be known that while I know the basics of poker, I'm not super familiar with the game. Add on the fact that what I was playing had similar rules to poker, but they were definitely different games.
However, my luck prevailed and I consistently got the upper hand in most rounds, despite having no idea what I was playing.
The host once again began to pass out the cards. I looked down at my hand and felt pretty confident about what I had. Especially because most of the other players were folding or completely ridding their hand.
So, I decided I'd be a bit more daring that round.
I push my chips into the center of the table. "I'm going all in."
One of the players, a man in a simple black suit and slick blue hair turned to me. "Really, you decide that now is a good time to do so? I took you for the cautious type."
I simply grinned. "What can I say, I'm liking my odds."
At the sight of this, most of the other players grimaced and began to fold until not a single other person was willing to go against me.
Once that happened, I put down my hand for the rest to see.
A/N: Never finished this chapter either. Well, unlike the last one, I actually had three chapters planned out. Lost interest before I even finished the first chapter though.
