Terraria x RWBY
Pain rippled through my body as I hit the ground. Blood to pour onto the ground, painting it red. Despite the swaying trees blocking out most of the sunlight, my brightly lit armor made the scene perfectly visible.
Pushing myself off the ground, I brought a healing potion to my face. Only to cough it back out. "Uhg…" I eyed my current debuffs. Bleeding, Potion Sickness, Deadly Bite, to name a few.
Wait a minute. I looked back at my debuffs again. I skimmed twice- no, thrice over. I don't recognize half of these! What even is 'Deadly Bite'?
Deadly Bite: Prevents player from regenerating through means of accessories.
How I came to receive unknown debuffs was quite simple. It all came down to what, or who, was inflicting them. You see, apparently the Angler and the other NPCs still around were getting pretty tired of my 'crimes against humanity'. I didn't really put any thought into it, which in hindsight was pretty stupid of me. I mean, the Angler fish started asking for a lot of really weird requests about a week ago.
Things like, "Ah! Rodes, just the Terrarian I was looking for. Lately, I've been seeing a lot of fish defying gravity when I go for my morning walk. Before I could grab it, it fell out of the stratosphere. I need that fish immediately! (Caught in surface during Lunar event near Vortex Pillar)".
Now that I think about it, he asked a lot of weird quests whenever I was farming the Celestial Pillars. Of course, one of the bigger indicators should have been when I realized Soft Duping somehow worked. You heard that right. A game exploit somehow worked in a real world version of Terraria. That was a sign that I was on a multiplayer server 24/7, but I can forgive myself for that oversight.
All that together ended up leading to the Angler, Cyborg, Wizard, and Steampunker opening a portal to different worlds and bringing alternate players through. I would say that they received a pretty biased view of who I was upon entering my world, but… Yeah, unless they also happened to be Isekaied from Earth to Terraria, they probably wouldn't have understood why I created the infamous 'NPC prison houses'.
So, all that lead up to being absolutely clapped by about 50 or so end game level Terrarians. Me, in the panic that I was in, accidentally spilled a wormhole potion onto my cellphone when mirroring home. Yeah, don't ask me how I did that.
But yeah, overall, that's how I ended up in a random forest with mysterious debuffs and only 8 HP…
The numbers slowly ticked down the Potion Sickness timer. I patiently waited for it to hit zero, but I think one of the other unknown debuffs was interfering with the cooldown.
I stood up completely and properly gazed at my surroundings.
Greenery. Greenery everywhere.
Trees of different species and variation were all around me, the grass not unlike the leaves in color. Aside from where I was standing of course.
I began aimlessly walking forward. If I was lucky, I would run into a civilization that didn't know about me or my less than good reputation. Well first, I had to clean off this blood before making a bad impression. I looked like a zombie at the height of a Blood Moon.
Before I could continue forward, I heard rustling in the leaves of a nearby bush. I calmly faced the direction of the noise and began checking my HUD to see how many enemies were in the area.
Enemies: 3
That's not good. Until I was able to get my health up, it was paramount that I focused on strategically dodging and eliminating what currently seeks to do me harm.
The Solar Eruption materialized into my grasp as I slowly walked around the general direction of the bush I last heard rustling. For all I know, there could be anything between a slime or a cloaked ranger in the foliage.
Suddenly, something leaps out of the shadows directly behind me.
Before I can even bring up my weapon, I feel teeth clamp onto my arm.
BOOM
Which promptly exploded due to the buff Solar Blaze. I looked at what had failed at even bringing my HP down by 1 point. Or at least, what remained of it.
It looked to be a large wolf. Obsidian black fur covered its muscular form. A shattered bone mask remained of whatever its head was. Red paint was streaked over the bone plating on the body.
So, I'm either guessing that I'm either in another world where slimes are now lesser werewolves, or this is just a new event. I'm betting on the latter, but my gut tells me it's the former.
Two more figures jump out of the bushes. Like its fallen kin, they heavily resemble that of a werewolf, except a lot more bulky with bright yellow-red eyes.
This time, prepared for the attack, I brought forth the Solar Eruption, which immediately disintegrated the Lesser Werewolves. I looked at the remains. Not a single drop or coin remained. That was… promising?
The Lunar event enemies didn't drop any items, so maybe there's a boss to be fought around here. Eh, that's kind of stretching it.
I gave a look at my body to find that I was still bleeding out. Oh… That's not good. If I can't patch myself up soon, I might pass out and die. If I die-
Gunshots echoed throughout the forest.
Second thought, I should find a place to hide and see who these potential visitors are.
As I hopped onto a nearby branch high above the ground, I looked at the radar once again.
Enemies: 0
Not close enough to pick up, but close enough to hear with regular senses. Might as well try to get closer.
I leapt from branch to branch, Solar Wings preventing me from making any noise. The gunshots became louder as I was now able to pick up nearby enemies. I halted my tree hopping progress and took out the Sniper Scope to get a better look of what I might be going against.
There were various black mobs like the lesser werewolves from earlier swarming towards the gunfire. Huge black bears, wolves, and boars all headed in one direction. So there's more than one kind of black mob. Not too surprising. I imagine the power scale in this case is based on size. Could be wrong though.
My view turned towards where the black monsters were currently headed. Now let's see what all the fuss is about. Fighting the monsters were- wait. Are those, teenage girls?
To my disappointment, it was exactly so. Four to be exact. All in clothing based around a single color. Those being red, white, black, and yellow. The red one in the goth looking outfit wielded what should've been a cumbersome scythe with ease. The more formally dressed white girl fought with what looked to be a rapier with… a revolver? The girl with black bow held what looked to be a Katana and utilized the sheath to inflict damage as well. And finally, the girl with bright blonde hair was punching the enemies.
Wait, I don't see any guns. Where did that come from? I took a closer look and it clicked. Their weapons would also double as guns. What is this, a fighting anime? Where's the armor, the protection, the quick and efficient slaughtering of enemies?
Sure, while they looked to be good at handling their weapons, and pretty decent teamwork, it took several slashes just to take down a single Lesser Werewolf.
A few minutes passed and the team of four finally defeated the measly force of mobs. At this point, I put away the scope and got in a bit closer to hear their conversation.
"Wow… That was, like, a lot of grimm." The red one said between breaths. "Is everyone alright?"
"Yes Ruby, everyone is fine. But did you really need to rush in to fight those grimm? I know Ozpin said to find the disturbance as quickly as possible, but that's no excuse to recklessly charge for the sake of saving time." The white haired one responded. She looked to be irritated, but it was a bit hard to tell.
"Come one Weiss, no need to be like that. Nobody is seriously hurt, and this certainly beats whatever we're learning in class today." The yellow one is very confident in her abilities it seems. I wonder how that'd hold up against a truly powerful opponent.
That's a lot of important details. The red one is Ruby, white one is Weiss, I'm assuming the black enemies are called the 'grimm' and these teens were sent out here to investigate a disturbance. Wait a second, does that mean their looking for-
The tree branch cracked underneath my feet, barely holding me up at this point. It was clear I needed to move before it completely broke. Good thing none of them have super hearing, else they'd have found me pretty quickly.
It was quiet all the sudden. All that you could hear were the trees in the wind and the faint sound of birds chirping.
I looked over at the four girls once more. They were looking back, with the black one pointing directly at me.
The branch finally snapped.
Like the sleep deprived fool that I was, I forgot that I could just deploy my wings to slow down my descent.
Smacking against the ground, I could faintly see my health drop by 2 HP. Not because of the fall, but because the tree branch somehow lodged in between the armor plates of the Solar set.
What even… I thought as the world faded around me.

As soon as consciousness came to me, I sat up and checked my surroundings.
White light flooded into my helmet's slits as I realized I should have taken this slowly. Once visibility was granted to me, I evaluated the situation.
I was on what looks to be a hospital bed. The walls were white and the room had similar beds, although all were empty. Checking myself, I was relieved to find that none of my armor was removed. Whoever tried to improve my health did wrap bandages over the joints and more exposed points.
Checking my health, I found it sitting at a nice 47 HP. Not bad, but could be better. With all the debuffs worn off, I pulled out a Super health potion and downed it as quickly as possible. Which was pretty quick, if I may brag.
With about half my HP back and the bleeding gone, I began unwrapping the bandages. Once that was done, I stood out of the bed and looked around the room. There was nothing of interest. Just first aid kits, medical supplies, and other miscellaneous items.
Deciding it was time to leave, I left the room to find myself in a very long hallway. Well, so much for this being a hospital. If I had to guess, this might be a school, considering those four girls mentioned a 'professor'.
Checking for any potential witnesses, I continued towards where I hoped the exit would be. I'd rather not wait around for whoever runs this place to interrogate me. While I appreciate the sanctuary, It'd be boring to wait around for someone to realize I was awake.
Speaking of waking up, why wasn't anyone there to monitor my condition? While I'd say that's suspicious, for all I know, this is an elaborate plan to figure out my character based on what I do with free reign across this building. I really doubt that's the case.
I came to a stop when two potential paths opened up before me. I could either go down the left hallway, or the right. I turned left, in hopes of finding a window I could just use the Rod of Discord to leave with.
As I began to continue walking, a bell suddenly rang. That confirms it, this is probably some sort of school. I could hear doors opening and footsteps echoing throughout the halls. Chatter became abundant, and any chance of properly stealthing my way out of here has clearly failed.
I simply stood there. Really wishing that I just swapped into my Vortex armor. Hell, even digging through my inventory for an invisibility potion would do at this point. Eh… I don't feel like doing that right now. While I just had a pretty good nap, I still feel mentally exhausted.
I sat against the wall and rested my head against it, watching the students pass by. Many of them stare, but for the most part, they moved on with their day. And here I was worried about being 'caught' or something. I bet none of these kids even knew about me showing up.
That was until I heard a familiar voice amongst the crowd.
"I'm telling you, he was massive! Completely covered in this shiny orange armor. Not only that, but he was bleeding a lot. Honestly, I thought he was dead when he fell from that tree…"
My gaze turned to the left, and I saw a few familiar faces, and some new ones. Red, white, black, and yellow were all there, but so were a few others. A red head with bronze head wear and a ponytail, an actual red head, black hair with pink highlight, and a blonde guy.
The crowd was thinning as the group got closer and it was getting to a point where they could spot me. Of course, I had the benefit of seeing past objects, but that was due to being a Terrarian. Ah, more evidence that I'm not in Terraria. If I were, they would've all spotted me by now. Not sure how I feel about that.
"Wait." The blonde guy stopped in his tracks.
Red stopped and looked over. "Is something wrong, Jaune?"
Jaune took in a quick breath before continuing. "Is… that who you're talking about?"
Seven heads shifted their gaze at me, each with varying reactions that I didn't catch. Aside from Re- no. Her name was Ruby, right? Anyway, Ruby's eyes widened and she burst into a cloud of red petals. In a mere second, she was right in front of me.
"Ohmygoshareyouokaywhyaren'tyoustillinbeddidsomeonedothistoyouareyoustillalivedo-"
I raised a single hand and shifted my helm towards her.
"What?"
Ruby stared at me, clearly confused. Before she could spew any more questions, one of the other students spoke up.
"She means, why are you out of the infirmary? You're severely injured and in no condition to be moving around." The girl with the bow spoke up.
I stood up at my full height and stretched out my arms to loosen the muscles. I gazed at the anticipating faces of the group. It looked like I was slightly taller than the blonde guy, but if anything, the armor gave me a few inches.
A few of them actually looked suspicious. That being the bow girl, red ponytail, white haired girl, and the guy with the pink highlight. What I want to know is why the majority seemed fine with my presence.
Considering my answer, I responded. "I was bored. Didn't feel like laying around when I'm already pretty much healed."
"What do you mean 'healed'. You practically had no blood left in you! You should be dead considering the medical staff couldn't remove nor penetrate your armor to transfuse blood." The white haired girl practically shouted at me. Understandable I guess.
Ah, that reminds me. Considering that this place has an infirmary and things like blood transfusion, it's clearly far more advanced in medical science. Does it not have things like potions? Filing that for later.
"Well?" The white hair- I really need to get these peoples' names. She and the others looked expectantly at me once more.
"Yeah, I'm fine. The real question is why you're acting so casual with me. I know I was sort of dying not too long ago, but I am an unknown factor." I crossed my arms, trying to move this conversation elsewhere.
The true redhead jumped in front of me. "You mean you're not a super skilled huntsman who barely survived a vicious grimm attack, only to suddenly wake up in an unknown room with no idea where he-"
I cut her off quickly. "No, and I'm not a huntsman." That made them especially quiet. What does being a huntsman make a difference in this situation anyway? Must be important for this kind of reaction.
Ruby spoke up again. "You're, not a huntsman?" She shifted her feet awkwardly against the floor. The rest of the group ranged from being even more cautious, to simply confused.
A notification began to play. Everyone sans myself, bow girl, and pink highlights jumped at the noise. Ruby quickly pulled out what looked to be a futuristic cellphone.
After checking the message, Ruby looked to the others. "Uh, Ozpin says we need to bring the, uh, guy over to his office right away."
Before anyone could react to the sudden order, I unfolded my arms and got ready to head off.
"Well, I've been dying to meet whoever thought it was a good idea to save my life, so let's get going."
XXXXX
I sat across from a man with gray hair and brown eyes. Apparently, this was the Ozpin that I've heard about. Headmaster of an academy is a pretty impressive role, so he must've got it for a reason.
Professor Ozpin brought his hands together. "So why don't we start with who you are, if you don't mind disclosing that."
"No, no. Nothing wrong with that. Name's Rodes. Before you ask, just Rodes." Short for Rodescrossing44, but who'd actually go by their full gamertag.
"Rodes, why were you
A/N: This one is okay. Could do with some improved character interaction. Or a more realistic reaction to a mysterious hunter out in the middle of the forest.
I have a couple other Terraria x-overs in mind, so I might end up writing those.
