Chapter 6 – Galaxy Blow

At the moment when our heroes were about to reach the sweet and beautiful Isabel, someone had already arrived, slowly advancing towards the house of the unsuspecting victim, smiling with satisfaction. He appeared to be a thin, medium-sized man, with a strange helmet encircling his head, though he was not fully outlined, shrouded as he was in the murky darkness of the night.

- Where do you think you're going? - that sound rose high in the sky, forcing the strange figure to turn toward the author.

He was standing, leaning against an adjacent wall, tall and well-built, with a few hints of beard on his face, his platinum blond hair glistening in the moonlight and his ice blue eyes standing out like those of a ravenous fair, ready to pounce on its prey. He wore what looked like a charcoal-colored trench coat and a pearl-white crescent dueling disk.

While observing that young man, a strange sensation began to make its way, fully investing the entire figure, a sort of pure terror, noticing that the one in front of him was none other than one of the best duelists around, it was enough to pronounce his name to be paralyzed by fear: Kite Tenjo.

And now he was there, motionless and with folded arms. Who knows what he was doing in a place like this?

- Mr. Tenjo. To what do I owe the pleasure of this visit? - the man asked, gathering some courage.

- Actually that's a question I should be asking you, you worthless cockroach. What do you want from Isabel? -

-I see that you know her too - replied the intruder - I can only say that I have a mission to accomplish, but I would never have expected that an individual of your caliber would be waiting for me, although you would have a reason, but alas, you have taken it out on the wrong person, and I thought it would be a piece of cake -

-Well, you'll have to think again. What do you guys want? - but the individual did not hint at any kind of answer and even if intimidated, seemed intent on challenging him

- I guess I'll have to force you to talk the old-fashioned way - burst out the young man staring coldly at his opponent, unleashing his duel disk

- I've always hoped to measure myself against someone like you - retorted the other.

- After this duel you'll lose the desire to be a braggart - replied the first one drawing five cards from his deck

-If you don't mind, I would like to start first - proposed the man, receiving a simple nod of approval - Ah, my name is Isaac Arashi, you better sign it, because I am the one who will defeat you -

Isaac = 8000 LP Hand = 5 Deck = 35

Kite: 8000 LP Hand:5 Deck: 35

- I activate from my hand the spell card "Allure of Soaring Heights", thanks to which, by banishing a monster of wind attribute or Winged Beast type from my hand, I can draw 2 cards from the deck. I banish "Dweller of the Storms" and immediately activate its effect, thus being able to add "Wingstorm Hydrobat" from my deck to my hand, after which I draw 2 cards from my deck. Finally, I put in a face-down monster and two face-down cards and pass you the hand -

-I expected better from you - said the blond drawing from his deck - I summon from my hand "Cipher Hound" in attack position - a canid covered with a shiny silver iron made its entrance on the field, stretching its sharp golden claws and growling at the opponent (Lv4/ Atk:1200/ Def: 1500) - Its effect is activated, that is, if this card is summoned normally when I don't control monsters on my field, I can special summon a second "Cipher Hound" directly from my deck - A second hound made its appearance, flanking the first one - The additional effect of this magnificent beast is activated: if this card is special summoned by the effect of a "Cipher" monster, I can add from my deck to my hand a "Cipher" monster, and I choose "Cipher Twin Raptor", after which I overlay both of my level 4 monsters. With these two monsters I build the overlay network! From the energy of the universe, something mind-blowing and incomplete is about to be born, on the way to perfection. Summon Xyz! Descend among us, Proto Cipher Dragon! -

A magnificent, draconic being roared onto the field. It looked like a combination of a being made of pure light and something mechanical, which gave it that futuristic look. Its wings glowed with an ethereal light, furrowed with blue and iridescent hues, it looked like a juvenile form of its main Ace Monster or rather an incomplete form. (Rank:4/ Atk: 1500/ Def: 1000/ Material: 2)

- What do you hope to achieve with such a miserable dragon? - taunted the opponent

- You'll see! First of all, the last effect of "Cipher Hound" is activated: if this card is used for xyz summoning of a "Cipher" monster, I can add a "Cipher" spell or trap card from my deck to my hand, I choose "Cipher Interference" - upon hearing the name of that card, a flash flashed in the challenger's eyes. It was one of his best and most fearsome card combinations, capable of ending the fight in seconds. He had to do something, otherwise the duel would end quickly.

-Then the effect of the monster xyz just evoked is activated, if it has been called on the field by overlaying two monsters with the same name, I can add from my deck to my hand a "Cipher" monster card, I choose "Cipher Elder Wormhole", then I activate the spell card "Cipher Decryption", which allows my "Cipher" monsters to inflict piercing damage when they attack a monster in a defense position -

- What? -

- Battle! Go, "Proto Cipher Dragon", attack that face-down monster. Proto Cipher Stream of Suppression! - The dragon emitted a rainbow-colored beam, ready to hurl it at the face-down monster

-Well, in the end you won't take much away from me, if you wanted to wrap it up quickly, I think you miscalculated a bit -

- Shut up! I activate the quick effect of "Proto Cipher Dragon", if during the Battle Phase I declare an attack with this monster, I can detach 2 overlay units and special summon " Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" from my Extra Deck, using this card as xyz material -

- No, impossible! -

- Now it's pain! With this monster I will recreate the overlay network! Now, through the cosmic energies that make up our galaxy, I will create something just as powerful! Summon Xyz! Descend from the Milky Way, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon! -

A mighty roar echoed through the air as an even more imposing dragon than the previous one emerged from a dazzling swirl of light. It was entirely covered in bluish scales, except for a few peaks of its body, still pervaded by that unique ethereal luminescence and protected by a sort of armor and some dark edges. Sharp pink outgrowths of crystal-like consistency adorned its knees, arms, neck and head, taking in the latter the form of horns, with similar ones protruding from its back. The wings even more glittering and voluminous, flooded the field with a cybernetic light, both topped by a large golden structure. The dragon emitted another roar at its opponent, something that conveyed nothing but a desire to annihilate it and bring its tamer to victory. (Rank:8/ Atk: 3000/ Def: 2500/ Material: 2)

Isaac was very impressed with the beast he would be facing, despite the furious shouting - Wow, I've always loved that, but to be faced with it and especially against it is at least a monumental experience, the fight is starting to get interesting. Finally! -

- You shouldn't patronize me! Soon you will feel all the fury of my companion. Go, Cipher Dragon, attack and destroy! - The mighty dragon hurled an intense stream, disintegrating it in a few seconds (3000 - 400= 2600) (8000 - 2600=5400)

- A remarkable move, you have greatly reduced my life points, but I also have some surprises in store for you - replied the man with a smirk - I activate the "Wingstorm Cloudburst" trap card, thanks to which, if a "Wingstorm" monster is destroyed, I can banish two random cards from your deck - the individual continued to smile with amusement, seeing how in duels like this, losing cards could make a difference, but Kite seemed not to blink or show any sign of wavering, focused as he was on his goal

- And I'm not done yet - Isaac continued, - Thanks to this card, I can special summon a "Wingstorm" level 4 or lower monster from the deck. Come forward, "Wingstorm Alluvium" - From an emerald whirlwind emerged a pitch-black bird, whose inky, silver-edged feathers appeared razor-sharp, not to mention the presence of some harmless lightning that scattered across the playing field (Lv3/ Atk: 1300/ Def: 800)

- A tuner - observed the boy

- Exactly. It immediately activates its effect, when it is special summoned by the effect of a "Wingstorm" card, my opponent must discard two random cards from his hand. In chain I activate the trap card "Wingstorm Downpour", I explain briefly how it works, if a monster "Wingstorm" is special summoned on my field, I can inflict a damage equal to the level or rank of a monster on both fields x200, fortunately for you can not exceed level/rank 8, but there will be no need, since your dragon is rank 8, I can inflict you easily 1600 points -

A violent burst headed impetuously towards his opponent, forcing him to parry his face because of the gust (8000-1600= 6400). Isaac was having a lot of fun enacting this kind of infamous strategy, but on the other hand, the blond man's icy gaze stared impassively at his opponent

- And I thought that you would have at least made a face of contempt, instead you just stood there, cold as marble and without any kind of reaction, in this you are exactly the same as your son. However, I managed to inflict a great quantity of damage on you, a remarkable feat considering that I'm facing the great Kite Tenjo and his "Galaxy-Eyes"-.

- It's called concentration - the young man informed him - Your style of play is quite predictable, and resorting to such tricks is dishonorable behavior. And you dare to call yourself a duelist? -

- It's still a strategy, isn't it? -

- As for Shiyuki, he's used to keeping his cool in any situation, after all I trained him personally. You have no idea of the sacrifices he had to make to learn and master the deck given to him, but I'm still proud of the result -

- Really touching - replied the man simulating a disgusted expression - But no more chitchat, it's your turn again -.

- I put a face-down card and end my turn -

- Halt! It activates the second effect of "Wingstorm Alluvium", when one or more cards are put face-down, I can add from my deck to my hand a level 4 or lower "Wingstorm" monster, I would say that "Wingstorm Nimbus" is perfect -

- I thought my turn would never start - announced the man, but in the meantime, two rather familiar spectators arrived riding the silver motorcycle.

- Wow, your father's dragon is really cool - Ren began as he dismounted from the vehicle - Hello Mr. Tenjo. It's a real pleasure to see you again -

- The pleasure is all mine, boy. By the way, congratulations on your victory - replied the former member of the resistance, then giving a cold look to the raven-haired boy who was watching the duel leaning against the bike.

- I see we have two good-looking spectators, even if the last one is not very talkative, you look like two peas in a pod -

-You'd better think about the duel, because I have a crazy desire to tear you to pieces - retorted the young man.

- There's no need to be so aggressive - the individual scoffed him - I'll see if I can put on a good show - he concluded, drawing fiercely from his deck

Isaac = 5400 LP Hand = 5 Graveyard = 4 Banish Card Zone = 1 Deck = 29

Kite = 6400 LP Hand = 4 Graveyard = 5 Banish Card Zone = 2 Deck = 28

- Well, the duel is about to start! - exclaimed the knight-like man, spreading his arms wide - I summon from my hand, in attack position, "Wingstorm Nimbus".

Another bird made its appearance, its feathers were aquamarine and its tail ended in a similar way to a cobalt blaze. Its entire appearance was reminiscent of a heron, the only other difference being its size and an outgrowth that adorned its head, protruding to the rear (Lv4/ 1700/ Def: 1300) - I then activate its effect that allows me to send from my deck to the graveyard a Winged Beast type monster with Wind attribute, I send "Wingstorm Zephyrspring" to the graveyard. I then activate the special power of the monster I just sent to the graveyard, paying 500 life points, I can shuffle it into the deck and summon a level 4 or lower "Wingstorm" monster from my deck or graveyard. It's about to make its entrance, "Wingstorm Thundercrash" - (5400 - 500 = 4900)

A second bird flew over the battlefield, followed by a strong gust of wind and the thunderous sound of thunder. It was smaller and sturdier than the first, but covered in gray feathers and a thick tail ending in two longer, stringy feathers. Its wings spewed electricity from every pore. (Lv4/ Atk:1700/ Def: 1500)

- You activate the effect of this mighty bird: if it is summoned by the effect of a "Wingstorm" monster, I can target a monster on the field and destroy it. My choice obviously falls on your " Galaxy-Eyes ", at the same time I can return a face-down card to my opponent's hand. I'd say you can say goodbye to your " Cipher Spectrum" and your chance to use it to resurrect your monster and summon another one. Yes, it's useless to make that face, your strategy was clear from the start - Kite's dragon was electrocuted instantly, as he clenched his fists in anger at losing his trusted companion of a thousand battles

- Oh, no! Cipher Dragon - Ren broke out

- Don't worry - intervened the two-tone man - If there's one thing I know, it's that my father always has a backup plan, and he knew in advance what move his opponent would make before he even put it into practice. He has an uncommon ability, after all, although I hate to admit it, he has defeated me countless times, which is saying something-

- The second effect of "Thundercrash" is activated: when one or more cards are returned to my hand, I can summon a second copy of this card from my deck. Come on, "Wingstorm Thundercrash", thanks to this evocation, once it is summoned on the field, it can be considered as a tuner monster. In combo you activate the effect of "Alluvium", you should remember this, every time a card is returned to my hand I can add from my deck to my hand a "Wingstorm" monster of level 4 or lower, I add "Wingstorm Blackloud" -

- I'm starting to hate these ugly birds -

- And soon you will hate them even more - Isaac continued - I activate the effect of "Wingstorm Nimbus", once per turn I can summon a "Wingstorm" monster of level 4 or lower from my hand, my choice is "Blackloud" - In a whirlwind appeared another of these birds, looking like an eagle and blue-gray plumage, with a crest from which three long black feathers extend (Lv2/ Atk: 1000/ Def: 800)

- Fortunately for you, its primary effect does not exist, as this summoning is considered normal and not special. But unfortunately for you, I have plenty of magic numbers to show you. I overlay "Wingstorm Nimbus" and the monster "Wingstorm Thundercrash" both level 4. With these two monsters I build the overlay network! From the highest clouds, here comes a fierce and impetuous bird like a hurricane. Xyz Summon! Swoop down and rip your prey to shreds, "Wingstorm Asperitas!" -

An imposing winged beast made its triumphant appearance, followed by tumultuous gusts of wind. Its elegant and slender body ended with a thick and voluminous ebony-colored tail, from which extended long and thin feathers of the same shade. The head was adorned with a crest of reddish feathers, from which sprouted other longer and whitish ones, ending with a cobalt-colored beak and golden eyes capable of inspiring fear. Its mighty wings were of a pitch-like hue, at the end of which ended in crimson feathers. (Rank: 4/ Atk: 2400/ Def: 1200/ Material: 2)

- Whoa, he's able to do xyz summons too? - asked Ren incredulously

- It seems obvious - replied the author of such a method - In a world like ours we can't rely on a single summoning, and it was a person who reminded us of that, KIte knew her well - The two boys turned confusedly towards the blond man, but he didn't seem to give any weight to the man's words, remaining once again impassive and focused on the disputed duel

- Since the gentleman doesn't deign to answer, I'll have to continue. I activate the special power of "Asperitas", using an overlay unit (Material: 2-1= 1), I can choose as target a Winged Beast type monster in my graveyard and a monster in my opponent's graveyard, I special summon the first one on my field and banish the second one. You can say goodbye to the chances of getting your beloved " Galaxy-Eyes" back and welcome back "Wingstorm Nimbus" -

- Oh no, this is not good! - exclaimed the owner of the "Burning Horror".

- He is undoubtedly more capable and prepared than the last two - Shiyuki observed. His expression was quite serious, narrowing his amber eyes and observing with interest the duel in progress. He loved to see his father fight, remembering the many fights between them, which inevitably ended in his own defeat.

- And we are still at the beginning - replied the masked man - You activate the effect of "Nimbus", if this card is summoned on my field, I can send from my deck to the graveyard a Winged Beast monster with attribute Wind, I send "Wingstorm Jethawk". I then proceed to tune the tuner monster "Wingstorm Thundercrash" with "Wingstorm Nimbus" - (4+4 =8). Destructive volatile, let your fury sweep anything in its path. Synchro Summoning! Appear, embodiment of storms, "Wingstorm Sandy" -

In a short time a cyclone of immense size was generated, engulfing the entire part of Isaac's field, while something very similar to flames raged within it. In all its fierceness emerged a large bird with a slender and sinuous shape. Its body was primarily black with scarlet highlights, with a few lines of the same hue running throughout its body and cobalt eyes, as bright as a beacon in the night. His paws were also scarlet, with four sharp black claws on each paw, six in front and two in back. Its wings, crest and tail were mostly black, with the crest having an extra curl in the front and the tail split in two, the latter three parts then, gave off a magenta energy, similar in every way to a flame. (Level: 8/ Atk: 2500/ Def: 1800)

- A nice arsenal of chickens - commented the blondie.

- If I were you, I wouldn't be so smug, the surprises aren't over yet. I activate one of the effects of "Sandy", you see, this powerful beast forces you to place a card in your hand directly on the field, face-down. - the man smiled with relish as his opponent placed the card on the field - once this is done, I can add from my deck to my hand a "Wingstorm" monster of level 4 or lower, I think I opt for "Wingstorm Summerdownfall". In combo I activate the effect of "Alluvium", I guess you remember that, when one or more cards are put face-down, I can add a "Wingstorm" monster of level 4 or lower, I choose "Wingstorm Downpourain". Finally, I tune the tuner monster "Wingstorm Alluvium" with "Blackloud". (3+2 = 5) Legendary volatile, let the thunder echo over the earth, destroying everything. Synchro Summoning!Rise into the air and rip through our enemies with your lightning talons, "Wingstorm Thunderbird" -

Accompanied by a violent crash, a medium to large winged figure emerged in all its magnificence. It was covered in mostly yellow feathers, and its pointed body shape, mainly tail and wings, vaguely resembled thunderbolts. A large pointed crest surrounded the head, ending in a long, tapered orange beak. The slender legs, on the other hand, were adorned with short, sharp claws, six anterior and two posterior. (Lv: 5/ Atk: 2300/ Def: 2100)

- A formidable flock - Ren commented in amazement, as the raven-haired boy continued to carefully examine the duel in progress, not an easy situation, but he was confident that his father would come out on top.

- I activate the effect of "Wingstorm Thunderbird", just like "Sandy", it forces you to place a face-down card directly from your hand, then the other effect is activated: when one or more of my opponent's cards are placed face-down, I can make each of my "Wingstorm" monsters gain 1000 attack points as long as this card remains on the field. (2400 + 1000 = 3400) (2500 + 1000 = 3500) (2300 + 1000 = 3300). You will take a beating! -

- Oh no! If he attacks, it's the end - continued to comment the blue-haired man.

- Calm down - intervened the companion - He had already calculated this eventuality, and I'm sure he has a backup plan ready -.

- I hope you are right -

- It was a good duel, Kite. But sooner or later all good things come to an end. Go, "Sandy", Fiery Wrath! - An explosion of magenta-colored wind of biblical proportions completely knocked the opponent over.

-I beg to differ! - objected the blondie - I activate from my hand the effect of "Cipher Elder Wormhole", discarding it, I can halve in this turn all the damage you would have inflicted on me - (3500:2 = 1750) (6400 - 1750 = 4650)

- Even though you reduced the damage, you didn't stop me from launching attacks, so, go "Asperitas" - (3400:2 = 1700) (4650 -1700 = 2950) - And now, go "Thunderbird", Thunderstorm! - From above came a great bolt of lightning, which once again struck his opponent. If it wasn't for that card, he would have had a really bad time.

- Were you scared, Kite? - his challenger started to taunt him - Next turn you'll feel the full fury of my "Wingstorm" and you'll be in a lot of pain -.

- And that's exactly where you are wrong - replied the young man - There will be no next turn, however, I will show you the true meaning of fear -

- Hoho! Strong words from a guy like you, I activate the equipment spell card "Stormwind" and target "Thunderbird", it prevents you from taking control of this monster, plus it can't be destroyed in battle and all the damage you would inflict on me by targeting it is halved. Also, if you're thinking of taking control of other monsters, as long as this card is on the field you can't target any of them with effects except for this one. Let's see how you can get out of this situation. I'll finish my turn -

- You'll see! - exclaimed the young man drawing from his deck - I see you have prepared a solid defense, are you afraid of my Cipher Dragons? -

- I am very prescient, in this way you can't use neither your Cipher Dragon nor its evolution to turn the situation around by taking control of the other monsters, then as you may have already guessed, because I know you did, you can't attack other monsters except "Thunderbird" and it can't be destroyed in battle and icing on the cake, all the damage that would involve it, would be halved, moreover without commandeering monsters you can't use "Cipher Interference", so I totally thwarted your strategy -

- Good job. I can see that you are a keen observer, and I suppose, having examined several of my encounters as I think those of others, you have found ways to cope with different situations and opponents, in my case, you have thwarted the strategy of my "Cipher", but I still have a few aces to play -

- What do you mean by that? - Isaac asked confused

- I will reveal this in due time. I specially summon " Cipher Twin Raptor " from my hand in attack position, it can be summoned in this way provided that I do not control any monster and that on your field there is a special summoned monster from the Extra Deck -

In a mini crystalline explosion a purple bipedal dragon appeared with two large spikes placed just above its jaw. The back of his head and tail were covered with the same ethereal blue energy that characterized almost all the members of that archetype. The far more minute but similar wings of his Ace monster spread wide, so that he appeared larger and more menacing than he was. (Lv4/ Atk: 1600/ Def: 800)

- One of your favorite monsters, huh? - commented the man

- Well, the classic can't be beat. Since I control a "Cipher" monster, I can special summon "Cipher Wing" from my hand - an emerald cube wrapped in two yellow hexes appeared before it, spreading its six long green wings (Lv4/ Atk: 1400/ Def: 1200)

- Are you aiming for a nostalgia effect? - continued to ask his opponent

- No, because I will show you something new and sensational. I activate the effect of "Cipher Wing", by offering it as a tribute I can increase the level of my "Cipher" monsters by 4, in this case the level of "Twin Raptor" increases to 8. If I decide to perform an xyz summoning, it counts as two monsters. I overlay my two "Cipher Twin Rapace" both of level 8. Return in all your magnificence, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon! -

The dragon reemerged powerful and proud, launching a thunderous roar towards his opponent, ready to give him battle. - Though for the moment I'm afraid he must bid us farewell. With this rank 8 monster as my material, I can recreate the overlay network. -

- What? - Ren and Isaac exclaimed in unison.

- Observe how the same powers that have forged the universe give my mighty beast a blade with which to cleave enemies. Xyz Evolution! Reemerge and tear, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Blade Dragon! - His appearance hadn't changed much except for the presence of four blades, two sticking out of his forearms and two blades sticking out of his knees, and two peculiar black wings in between the main two. (Rank:9/ Atk: 3200/ Def: 2800 Material : 3)

- Rank... 9?! - said Isaac and Ren, once again surprised, while the two-colored stared seriously and admiringly at that prodigious dragon, having already seen it during his training sessions.

- Yeah! - said the young man - This is just one of my many new additions. It activates the effect of "Cipher Elder Wormhole" in my graveyard: if I control a "Cipher" monster on my field and this card is in my graveyard, I can special summon it, but I can't special summon any other monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Cipher" monsters. You weren't aware of the special features of this card, otherwise you would have used the other unit of "Asperitas" to remove it from play. And it's a mistake that will cost you a lot. -

- Tsk! -

- Now I can summon "Cipher Wyvern" normally from my hand in attack position - a reptile with a snake-like body and wings similar to those of the Cipher Dragon flew over the field, but it gave off a more flaming light than the mighty dragon (Lv4/ Atk: 1800/ Def: 400)

- In fact, these cards are completely unknown to me - observed the owner of the Wingstorm

- And I still haven't explained what makes "Elder Wormhole" even more special. If on my field there is a "Cipher" or Light attribute monster, it can be considered as a tuner monster-

- A tuner monster? -

-Exactly. Or did you think you were the only one who knew of such spells? I tune "Cipher Elder Wormhole" and "Cipher Wyvern" both level 4. Observe how mystical universal powers bring the most dangerous of dragons to life. Descend and blind the wicked. Synchro Summon! Roar, Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Strobe Dragon! -

In a flash of pearly white light, a massive dragon appeared on the field, emitting a frightening roar. Dark scales that glittered and swirled like galaxies unfurled from its gargantuan body. The broad, majestic ones, furrowed by that typical Cipher glow, emitted continuous beams of pure white light, accompanied by a few golden blades placed right in the middle, extending from the spine. Their sharpness was matched only by the glittering dark claws that emerged from the front paws, white and dazzling, as well as the rest of the body, pervaded by the usual ethereal energy but even more brilliant. The hind legs, muscular and massive, were ivory in color, with a bio-mechanical appearance, in stark contrast to the rest of the body. A long and powerful bluish tail completed the whole, ending in a similar golden trident, on which a cobalt blue gem was set. The head was adorned in the main part by a series of spikes and small horns, giving it the appearance of a crown, ending with two horns even longer that extended downward, the same color of the scales. It was a unique and sensational sight, the ultimate expression of power. (Lv8/ Atk: 3200/Def: 2500)

- But it's beautiful! - Ren exclaimed in amazement, his eyes full of admiration for the sparkling creature that stood out in all its pride. - I didn't know that your father is also capable of using Synchro summons -

- He is able to use every existing method of summoning - the raven-haired man explained seriously, squaring him carefully - But for some obscure reason, he is reluctant to use the Fusion summons , I on the other hand do not ask questions, at least not to him -

- I wonder why - asked the blue one

- He must have his reasons - replied coldly the user of space monsters raising his shoulders

- Who knew you would surprise me so much - commented the opponent

- And you haven't seen everything yet -

- Today you really decided to spoil me - Isaac retorted sarcastically

- Having used "Cipher Wyvern" as a synchro material monster, its effect is triggered: I can then add a "Cipher" spell card from my deck to my hand, I choose to add the "Rank-Up-Magic- Cipher Ascension" spell card

- Are you going to increase the rank of "Cipher Blade Dragon"? -

- Not exactly. Now the effect of "Cipher Dragon Strobe" is triggered: once per turn, I can return it to the Extra Deck and special summon a rank 8 xyz "Cipher" monster from the same-

- What?! - Commented surprised those present

- Come back to my side, Cipher Dragon! - the trusted companion of countless fights flapped his mighty wings, looking down on his opponent.

- Here's someone I didn't miss at all, and that's why you added that Rank-Up- spell card-

- Wait, the surprises don't end here -

- What does it mean? - asked the opponent confused

-That the effect of "Cipher Strobe Dragon" has not been completely resolved yet -

- Explain yourself better -

- Having returned it to the Extra Deck, if the monsters used for its summoning are still in the Graveyard, I can special summon them on the field. Let's welcome back" Cipher Wyvern" and "Cipher Elder Wormhole". I don't need to tell you that the latter, having on the field a Cipher monster or Light attribute monster, is considered as a tuner monster.

- But it's amazing - Ren continued - Your father is a better duelist than you - then he turned to the raven-haired man next to him and received a glare in return.

- I already know what you're going to do," Isaac commented.

- Then you'd better get ready. I tune in "Cipher Wyvern" and "Cipher Elder Wormhole" (4+4= 8). Come back to us, "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Strobe Dragon" -

In no time at all, that strobing wonder that the man in the knightly helmet hadn't missed at all, returned to the field

- Now everything is ready! I activate the spell card "Rank-Up-Magic Cipher Ascension", thanks to which, choosing as target a Xyz "Cipher" monster that I control, I can special summon from my Extra Deck a Xyz "Cipher" monster of 1 rank higher. With this monster I rebuild the overlay network. Observe how the same powers that shaped the universe, give birth to the ultimate power! Xyz summoning, roar and annihilate my enemies, Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon! -

The titan appeared on the field wrapping everything in a glittering grip, it was much more imposing and proud than the previous one, spreading its immense wings overflowing with the colors of the iris, which broke and flooded every surface, creating a wonderful play of light. It was even more armored and imbued with whitish energy, with some jewel-like growths adorning its body. The three terrible heads were decorated with horns and crimson spikes, the central one in particular, sported a long and sharp whitish horn. The tail, on the other hand, covered with the same material, ended with a curved, pearly object. Despite the range of beautiful colors, its golden claws were dangerously sharp, with those it could easily slice through anything that came its way. (Rank:9/ Atk: 4500/ Def: 3000/ Material: 1)

- Thanks to the Rank-Up-Magic card I just used, my monster gains 500 attack points for each monster of level 4 or higher that I control, and since on my field there is "Cipher Strobe Dragon" which is level 8, my dragon increases its offensive power (4500+500 = 5000) -

- Now I understand why you summoned that Synchro monster - commented the man preparing for the next opponent's move - Finally you managed to call him, eh? I would like to tell you that it is a very impressive monster, but without its special power, it will be of little use to you. -

- And why do you think he summoned a third dragon? -

- What are you implying? -

- That I can now activate the special power of my "Cipher Blade Dragon": using an overlay unit, once per turn I can target a card on the field and destroy it. (Material: 3-1= 2), my target is really "Wingstorm Thunderbird" -

- It can't be! -

- Its effect and equipment spell card prevent it from being destroyed in battle, but not by card effects. Go, Dazzling Cipher Slash!- one of the blades on his forearm emitted an intense glow, and was then hurled at great speed at the bird, exploding in a pile of sparks.

- Damn it, with no more "Thunderbird" to protect them, my monsters are vulnerable -

-This is the first sensible thing I've heard you say. I can now activate the effect of "Neo Cipher Dragon", being able to take control of a number of your monsters equal to the number of xyz materials detached. Since this card only has 1 xyz material, I can only take control of one monster on your field. I choose "Wingstorm Sandy". Super Cipher Subjection! Now again due to the effect of my monster "Cipher", the name of this monster becomes "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" and it gains the same attack points as my monster and its effects are negated -

- And with the card "Cipher Interference" the duel is practically closed, I'm glad I didn't underestimate you, you still remain the formidable duelist of old -

- If I'm being honest you weren't too bad yourself, but now it's time to close the games. I reveal the spell card "Cipher Interference". Battle Phase! Go "Neo Cipher Dragon" attacks "Wingstorm Asperitas." -

A triple beam of radiant energy was fired simultaneously at the opponent's monster

- And now, the effect of "Cipher Interference" is activated: during the damage calculation, if one of my "Cipher" monster fights and there is another monster with the same name on the Terrain: I can double its attack until the end of the Battle Phase. (5000x2 = 10000). Are you ready to repent? - the man made a small nod, preparing to welcome his defeat.

- Go Neo Cipher Dragon, pulverize him! Ultimate Cipher Stream of Devastation! (10000-3400 = 6600) (6600 - 4900 = 0)

- Hurray, he won! - exulted the boy who owned the "Burning Horror", much to the disappointment of the boy next to him, not accustomed to such fans, even if seeing one of his favorite duelists and main point of reference duelist duel and win was always a source of pride.

On the other hand, in a place not far away, a boy with flowing blue hair and silver highlights and dressed in a long coat, had watched the duel, sheltered in a corner

- I would expect no less from a possessor of " Galaxy-Eyes "- was all he said, and a sinister smirk appeared on his face.

- Now you'd better talk - said the blond man once the holograms dissipated

- I'm sorry, but it's not me you should talk to - replied the man taking a step backwards

- No more jokes! - continued the young man through clenched teeth

- I'm afraid he's right - a mysterious voice intervened, making everyone turn in the same direction.

It belonged to the same hooded individual encountered by young Shiyuki after his duel against Kageshi. He pulled down the veil that covered his face, revealing a man of advanced age but not too old, with long flowing white hair and a thick beard of the same color.

- Who are you? - This time it was Shiyuki who spoke, advancing a few meters in front of him.

- My name is Shugo Tatsuhiko and I'm a guardian.

- Guardian of what? I'm sick of all this, what do you want from us? Why did you want to hurt us or even attack Isabel? - Ren stood up, angry because he wasn't understanding anything anymore, too much mystery, too many things that didn't fit, but he would have found the answers, one way or the other.

- I understand your doubts and your desire for answers, but I ask you to understand that we have done all this to test you, but I never expected that to interfere with our plan there would even be one of the legendary duelists, who long ago contributed to the preservation of our world and we did not want to hurt the girl -

- I still don't understand - continued the blue-haired man.

- And you don't need to. I only have one request to make -

- Do you think you can plan all this and then come here to make demands as if nothing had happened? - asked the raven-haired man

- I understand your anger, but I only ask that you grant the last wish of a poor old man and I assure you that you will get the answers to the questions you have asked -

- What would this wish be? - asked the owner of the archetype "space".

- To be able to fight a duel against you, young Shiyuki, and in case you manage to beat me, I can reveal my intentions to you -

- And why should I agree to such a claim? -

- Well from where I come from it is a very useful system to understand and comprehend the feelings that animate the heart of an individual, as well as to make friends with them. In your case, it is only to ascertain whether you are worthy or not -

-Worthy for what? - continued to ask the young man, even more confused by the words of that strange old man, but in the end he could have understood him, or almost, he only duelled to become stronger and better and better, he would never have imagined that one could also duel to make friends or to understand the feelings of others, remembering despite everything the words that his father had addressed to him, now become damn similar to those of the old man, but that time he was too busy with other things to pay attention, lost as he was in his world.

-To entrust you with a task of extreme and vital importance, something that could affect the fate of the entire world - this last statement left the young man stunned. What did someone like him have to do with the fate of the world? As a child he had always believed that he would accomplish great deeds, but now, even this?

- Alright, I accept - replied the Raven-haired man, positioning himself right in front of it.

-So on the spot? - asked his friend

-I don't feel like I have much choice, or do I? Besides, I want answers as soon as possible, I'm not a fan of thrillers or mysteries -

- I'm glad to see that you are a reasonable guy - the old man turned to him.

- You'd better not pull the rope too much - the young man replied coldly.

- I'll keep that in mind -

- Let's duel! - the two contenders exclaimed in unison, unsheathing their duel disks, under the watchful eye of Mr. Tenjo, who was carefully and seriously observing his son. Would this be his baptism of fire?

Hi people, before proceeding further I have to explain a little thing: If you noticed, I used the anime effect and not the real one of "Cipher Twin Raptor" as it suited the gameplay style of this duel better.

Having said that, I would particularly like to thank "PridedKnight168" and "ringtaillemur0" who put this story in their favorites, so thanks again.

So, did you like this duel? Were you shocked by this major revelation about who our protagonist's father is? Will Shiyuki be able to defeat this mysterious duelist and find out the truth about what's happening?

You will find out in the next episodes.
