It was a normal day at the lookout. All the pups were watching Apollo the super pup, other than that it was very quiet at the lookout.
Too quiet for Marshall
He had excused himself from watching Apollo to go to the bathroom outside. But in reality he was about to create chaos.
"Last week I gave a fire safety talk, and nobody paid any attention." The Dalmatian said to himself calmly "It's my own fault for using PowerPoint. PowerPoint is boring"
The Dalmatian went to his pup house quietly and grabbed a small sack with his mouth. He carried it back to the lookout.
"People err.. Pups learn in lot's of different ways, but experience is the best teacher" Marshall continued to himself
Marshall jamed all the Lookout doors so they can't open, then he goes to a small trash bin in a secluded corner of the Lookout. He opened the sack. The sack contains matches and a small container of lighter fluid. Marshall pours all the lighter fluid into the trash. He holds the match in his mouth and strikes it against the floor, and casually drops it in the bin.
"Today fire is gonna save lives" Marshall said to himself, as he walked back to the others at the TV.
No one questioned Marshall as he sat back down. Everyone was too focused on the show.
Marshall looked over his shoulder and saw the smoke slowly creeping forward. He looked back at the others and was frustrated that no one had noticed.
"Does anyone smell anything smoky?" Marshall asked the rest of the pups
"I bet Ryder got some of those smoked jerky treats" Rubble said excitedly and went back to watching the show.
Marshall cleared his throat to get the others attention, and this time it worked
"Um oh my! Look!" Skye yipped
Everyone turned around and saw the smoke coming from around the corner
"Fire!" Chase barked
All the pups were immediately up and running
"Fire! Oh my goodness, what's the procedure?" Marshall asked
"Our pup tags aren't working!" Skye said nervously
"Oh how did that happen?" Marshall said shocked
"It's out in the hall!" Rocky suggested
"No! We don't know that, the smoke could be coming through an air duct" Marshall said reassuringly
"Oh my god! Okay, it's happening! Everybody stay calm!" Rubble yelled
"What's the procedure everyone, what's the procedure?" Marshall barked again
"Stay F***ing calm!" Rubble barked again as he rushed for the door
"Wait Rubble, touch the handle! If it's hot there could be a fire in the hallway!" Marshall barked
Rubble nodded and touched the dog door
"What does warm mean?" Rubble asked
The pups were all panicking and checked every door
"Alright, we're trapped. Every pup for himself!" Chase said
The chaos was increasing
"Alright pups exit points, exit points" Marshall said casually
Chase was trying to break a window with a beanbag chair
Rubble and Zuma were raiding the treats cupboard
Rocky trying and failing to calmly come up with a plan
And Skye was trying to save all the chew toys
"Use the surge of fear and adrenaline to sharpen your decision making!" Marshall said confidently
Marshall was standing around calmly as he pulled out another match and some firecrackers. He lit them and threw them on the floor.
The firecrackers boomed, cracked
"THE FIRE IS SHOOTING AT US!" Yelled Chase
Rocky, Zuma and Rubble were using a projector cart as a battering ram on the door
Chase finally managed to break the window
"HELP HELP!" Chase yelled out the window
"ATTENTION EVERYONE!" Marshall barked as he used an air horn, everyone actually stopped and looked towards Marshall "Pups of the PAW Patrol! This has been a test of our emergency preparedness! There is no fire, it was only a simulation."
"WHAT!" Chase and Rocky barked
"Fire is not real, this was just a training exercise" Marshall said calmly "So what did we learn?"
Zuma suddenly faints
"Oh come on! It's not real!" Marshall barked
"Zuma don't faint"
"NO no no! Zuma you will not die!" Rocky barked "I will give you mouth to mouth!"
Zuma suddenly wakes up
"What happened?" asked Zuma
*several hours later*
"Between this and the first aid training, I really think we might need new protocols." Ryder sighed to himself
