I'm sorry for the long wait, but at the moment I'm facing some writer's block. Plus, I recently rewatched Gravity Falls with my sister and just got back into that fandom. I've had about ten million story ideas for those fanfics, so expect some of those one day.

Anyways, this chapter was also suggested by MaliceMalAmyMalevFaery. Enjoy!

Summary: Evie tries to find out who her father is. For help, she goes to a certain sea witch. Evie and Uma try to figure out the villain and end up falling in love.

Evie sat in her bed on the Isle, staring at the ceiling. At the moment, she was fourteen years old, and for those past fourteen years there had been one question that baffled her.

Who was her father?

She'd asked her mother once, when she was four, and never again. The simple memory still made her wince in slight pain.

She'd asked Mal if she knew anything, but the purple-haired faery had just shook her head and apologized, saying she only knew the children of the Isle, not the adults, and even then only knew about the half she and her three best friends ruled.

They'd tried asking around, but no one knew anything.

Eventually, Evie realized there was only one thing she could do.

She remembered the day she'd asked Mal.

"Mal?" Evie asked, looking up from her nails and at her friend, who sat in the chair across from her drawing. They were in the hideout, and the boys currently weren't there since Jay still had to fill his quota and Carlos had 'chores'.

"Mmm?" Mal hummed, only half listening as her pencil flew across the page.

"I want to ask Uma."

That got Mal's attention, and her head snapped up as she stared at Evie, shocked.

"She rules the other side of the Isle and may know who my dad is!" Evie said, desperate. "Plus she's helped other kids with the same thing, and usually figured it out. Maybe she can help me."

Mal bit her lip, thinking, then slowly nodded.

"Fine, but only because I know how much you want this," she said, then turned back to her artwork, missing the huge smile that appeared on Evie's face.

Thanks M, she thought, then resumed painting her nails the bright red her mom had picked out.

They'd agreed she would go in one week, and Evie was nervous. But she had to go now, before the Evil Queen found her.

Sighing, she pushed herself off the bed and to the window. Careful not to let them creek too much, she pushed the doors open and climbed out onto the roof. Jay had taught her how to climb across the house roofs, and she was rather good at it.

Despite her reputation as a princess, obviously she wasn't wearing heels. That was too impractical for any VK. Instead she had her usual dark red combat boots.

Evie made her way across the rooftops until she reached the last one in the row, climbing down the side of the building until she reached the ground, then taking off running. In the early morning hustle of the Isle, no one noticed her.

No one noticed how she crossed the invisible border that split the Isle in two, making her way towards the ship.

Uma was the first to see her. She stood and pulled out her sword, then the rest of the Wharf Rats turned to face Evie.

"What are you doing here Princess?" Uma asked, glaring at Evie. Although there wasn't really much malice in her look. Evie just sighed.

"I need to talk to you about something," she said softly, trying to keep her voice down so the other Rats didn't hear.

Uma nodded slowly, then yelled, "Back to work!" to her crew. She led Evie to a bench in one corner of the ship and asked, "What is this about?"

"I want to find my dad," Evie whispered and Uma tried not to let her shock show on her face. "I know you probably hate be because I'm in Mal's crew but I just thought it was worth a shot."

Uma stared at Evie. She should say no. She should laugh and tell Evie to go away. She should forget about the entire thing and not even care.

"I'll help."

~Umvie~

"She said yes."

Those words were the first thing that came out of Evie's mouth as she walked into the hideout.

"Cool," Mal said, trying to pretend she didn't care and making Evie sigh. She knew Mal missed Uma, it was obvious. But her friend was too stubborn to admit that and 'lose.'

"I wonder how long this'll take," Evie said thoughtfully.

~Umvie~

Turns out it took longer than she expected. In fact, Evie worked with Uma for two months before they found a clue. In those two months, she grew surprisingly close to Uma. It was easy to talk to her, and Evie found herself looking forward to their meetings more and more often.

It was odd, she had to admit. Especially considering that Uma was a pirate and pretty much the opposite of Evie, but she found they had a lot in common and a lot to talk about.

She wanted to deny being close to Uma. She wanted to deny a lot of things, like the slight fluttering in her heart whenever she saw the pirate captain. It just wasn't right. Uma was a lot of things, but a prince was not one of them. Evie had to marry a prince.

Besides, they were just acquaintances. Uma was helping her with this and then they would never talk to each other again.

But it was starting to feel hopeless, until one day.

~Umvie~

"Who's that?" Evie asked one day as a girl walked onto the ship. She had curly black hair and amber eyes. She gave Harry a quick hug and started talking to him.

"Oh, that's Harriet. She's Harry's twin sister and has her own ship. You've probably heard of her."

Evie had, Harriet Hook was famous on the Isle. In fact, all the Hooks were. For some reason, her mother seemed to really hate them. But she'd never met any except Harry.

Suddenly, Uma frowned, looking between Harriet and Evie.

"Evie, come with me," she said, taking Evie's hand and leading her to Harriet. Evie's heart skipped a beat at the sudden touch.

"Hey Uma," Harriet said, shooting the other girl a small smile. "Who's this?"

"This is Evie, I'm helping her find her father," Uma said. "Can you two just stand next to each other?"

Evie shrugged and did as Uma asked. She'd learned a while ago that you just shouldn't question Uma when it came to these things.

Uma's eyes widened and she looked shocked.

"Evie, I think I know who your dad is."

~Umvie~

"Papa!" Harriet shouted as she walked onto the ship. "You have some explaining to do!"

"What are you talking abo-" Captain Hook started, but froze when he saw Evie walk in behind Harriet.

"Is it true?" Harriet asked. "Is Evie my sister? Were we triplets?"

Captain Hook sighed and sat down, patting the couch next to him. The three girls also sat.

"Fifteen years ago, Grimhilde and I were 'together.' She gave birth to triplets. If it was up to me I would have taken and raised all three of them. But she grabbed onto two babies. One of them was the youngest, a girl, who was the quietest out of the group. She said that I either let her take the girl or she would kill the boy. I couldn't let her kill Harry, so I let her take the girl. I was hoping the girl would eventually find me, but then her mother made a mistake and the two of them were sentenced to be trapped in a castle. When she was fourteen the girl finally started school, which excited me, but then she became a part of Mal's group, which was on the other side of the Isle. I pretty much gave up all hope of ever even meeting you Evie," he explained.

The three girls were silent while he was talking, and after too.

"So...you are my dad," Evie said quietly. Instinctively, Uma put an arm around her. She didn't know if she was giving Evie comfort or just reminding her that it was real, but in all honesty it didn't matter. "What now?"

"We'll do family dinners," Harriet said firmly, like she'd been thinking about it for a while. "Does Grimhilde ever leave you alone for a night?"

"Yeah, every Friday. She goes to the Spa with Cruella."

"Perfect. On those Fridays, you can come over here and we'll all have a family dinner," Harriet said with a smile, and Evie reached out, hugging her new sister.

"I can't wait."

~Umvie~

Evie was fast at adjusting, and it was surprisingly easy to adjust to this new family. Harry was happy to have a new sister, although he tried to cover it up. And CJ, the sassy twelve-year-old was amazing. Evie had always wanted a real family, and now she had one.

However, there was one thing they couldn't deny.

Evie was now a even bigger connection to Uma, and Mal was trying to hide it but Evie could tell it bothered her.

"Come with me," she finally said one day, as she was getting ready to go to the ship.

"What do you mean?" Mal said, confused.

"Mal, you cannot hide from your problems forever. You need to talk to Uma, and you will if I have to drag you to the ship," Evie said, placing her hands on her hips and fixing Mal with a determined look.

Her friend sighed and stood up.

"Fine. But I'm doing this because I want to, okay?"

Evie grinned.

"Okay, let's go."

~Umvie~

When Evie walked onto the ship with Mal behind her, she would swear she heard crickets as the entire crew turned to face them. She knew all their names by now, and they liked her, but Mal was a different story.

Uma walked forward, and they stared at each other for a moment.

Then Uma led Mal to a room in the corner. They talked for a while, and when they came out were both a bit happier.

"How did it go?" Evie asked them.

"We're not exactly friends but...there's no more feud," Mal answered, and Evie beamed.

Uma felt herself smile a bit at the princess's smile. For some reason, it made her happy to know Evie was happy.

Mal watched the two with a small smirk. Even if they were oblivious to their feelings, she was glad to know her friend and her...ally were so close.

~Umvie~

Turned out the two weren't going to be oblivious for much longer. Evie's fifteenth birthday arrived faster than any of them thought possible. It was hard to process how much everything had changed in those past six months. The Isle was no longer divided since the two crews were allies now. Evie had found her family, and formed a close bond with them. And Captain Hook finally got to know his long-lost daughter.

But one thing remained. Evie and Uma's denial.

The two of them were pretty close, and even though they never used the phrase 'friends' they both knew Evie was more than just Uma's first mate's sister.

On Evie's birthday, she would have rather kept it a secret. Grimhilde hated her birthday, and always ignored it. Not a surprise, considering what happened nine years ago.

But this one was different. Because, this birthday, she had friends and family who wanted to celebrate.

However, she just wanted to sleep. So when Mal, Jay, and Carlos barged through her window singing Happy Birthday she wasn't very pleased. Yes, it was a very Auradonian thing to do, but they all knew how Evie's birthday had been for the past nine years and had promised her this one would be different. Luckily, Grimhilde practically ignored her on this day so she wouldn't notice how Evie wasn't there the entire day.

"Wake up," Jay said with a smirk when the song ended. By now Evie was pretty awake. Though she would never admit it, her friends' singing voices were pretty good.

"You guys didn't have to do anything, my birthday's not a big deal," Evie said with an eye roll.

"Yeah, yeah, sure," Mal said, grabbing her hand. "Come on."

They pulled her to the ship, where a certain pirate was pacing back and forth.

"What if she doesn't like it? She's a princess after all-"

"Uma, you're forgetting something," Harry interrupted. "She's also a pirate. She's one of us, she'll love it."

Uma nodded. She looked like she wanted to say something, but didn't get a chance because Mal, Carlos, and Jay took that moment to pull a blindfolded Evie onto the ship.

"We're on the ship, aren't we?" she said.

"Yeah, we kinda knew you'd figure it out," Mal said, shrugging even though Evie couldn't see her.

"Was the blindfold necessary then?"

"No, just fun," Carlos said with a chuckle, as he leaned over to untie said blindfold.

Evie opened her eyes and looked around in shock. The ship was decorated with the few things they could find. Some limp streamers and loose confetti hung around the floor. The words 'Happy Birthday!' were on some dirty white fabric Uma had found in the barge in bright blue lettering. The 'banner' hung between two poles.

It was perfect.

"Do you like it?" Uma asked, trying not to let her nervousness show in her voice.

"It's amazing!" EVie said, beaming.

~Umvie~

The day was spent partying and having fun. Before they knew it, the majority of the day had passed and it was five o'clock. The Hook siblings would have to leave for family dinner soon. They usually wouldn't go this early, but after dinner the more wild part of the party would start.

However, Uma had to do something before Evie left.

"Hey Princess?" she said. "Can I talk to you for a moment?"

Evie nodded and Uma led her to her room.

"So...I know this is kind of unexpected, but I did get you a present."

"You didn't have to-"

"Sush," Uma interrupted, and Evie chuckled a bit as the other girl reached into her pocket and handed Evie a box.

The princess opened it, and gasped when she saw what was inside. It was a necklace. Said necklace was on a golden chain. There was a red heart that looked like it was made out of a ruby handing on it.

"I know it's not much but-"

Evie interrupted by throwing her arms around Uma. The teal-haired girl accepted the hug, but when Evie moved away grabbed her wrist. She knew what she was about to do, and was extremely nervous.

"And I have one more thing," she said, biting her lip.

"What?" Evie asked curiously.

Her question was answered when Uma learned forward, her lips connecting with Evie's for one brief moment.

She pulled away before Evie could even react. The blue-haired princess was staring straight forward, shocked.

"Evie?" Uma said nervously. "Are you-"

She was interrupted by Evie kissing her, and this time both of them responded. After a while they pulled away and Evie smiled.

"So...are we 'together' now or..."

Uma nodded.

"I think we are."

One Year Later

Evie, Mal, Jay, and Carlos were all on the ship when they found out. It was Harry who delivered the news, when he walked in, four letters clutched in his hand.

"What's that?" Uma asked, looking up from where she was talking to Evie.

"An Auradon guard arrived with these letters. They have Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carlos' names on them. I just told him I could take them to where they needed to go, and he just gave them to me. Auradonians are so naive."

"What do they say?" Mal asked, and Harry shrugged, handing the letters to the four.

"This is unbelievable!" Evie burst out once she finished. "We're invited to Auradon! After twenty years they finally decided to pay us any attention! And we don't even get a choice, the limo gets here in two hours!"

"You're going," Uma said immediately, and Evie glared at her.

"No, I'm not. I have a life here! I have you, and Harry, and Harriet, and CJ, and Dad, and the rest of the crew! I'm not leaving that behind because Auradon finally decided to pay us any attention!"

"I agree with Evie," Mal said, frowning. "There is no way we're going."

~Umvie~

Turned out they were going. Maleficent demanded they steal Fairy Godmother's wand and the four had no say in the matter. Perfect.

Evie loved Auradon, if she was being honest. It was everything she'd ever dreamed of. But there was the consistent act she had to keep up. Flirt with every guy who could give them information. It made her feel dirty and bad. Especially since Grimhilde expected her to marry one of them.

She only kept going because if the barrier was brought down she could finally see Uma again.

~Umvie~

Coronation arrived, and it had results none of them expected. When Mal took the wand, Ben started forward. He wasn't afraid or disgusted, but he saw the good in her and managed to convince her not to do it.

"And Evie, you are so smart! You don't need a prince. For god's sake, you don't even need a guy! We'll be able to get her here soon," she said, adn Evie appreciated how she didn't say Uma's name. Since this was being broadcasted to the Isle, she knew that saying her girlfriend's name was too risky.

And then Maleficent arrived, but that was easily taken care of.

After Coronation, Evie wanted to bring Uma, but she knew her pirate would never agree to that. Not if it meant she had to leave the crew behind.

Turned out Uma being on the Isle actually worked out for them. When Mal ran to the Isle, they knew their first stop.

~Umvie~

Evie couldn't stop the butterflies in her stomach. She knew this was a grim situation, since Mal was lost somewhere on the Isle and no one was in the hideout, but she finally got to see Uma again.

When she walked up onto the ship, the first person who saw her was Claudine, who beamed and said, "Welcome back."

That got Uma's attention and she turned, her eyes widening when she saw Evie. But then the blue-haired princess flew into her arms and all she could do was smile.

"I missed you," Evie said quietly, pulling back and kissing her.

"You waited for me?" Uma said in surprise when they pulled away.

"Of course I did, what did you think would happen?"

"I just...the place is full of princes and you could be with someone better than me..."

"There's no one better than you. You're my pirate."

Uma beamed and then looked up at Ben.

"By the way, your girlfriend is in my room. Talk to her, she's being stubborn."

~Umvie~

Ben walked out with Mal next to him after a while, smiling. They didn't know what exactly he said to change her mind, but everything was back on track.

"Are you sure you don't want to come with us?" Evie asked, looking up at Uma with pleading eyes.

"I can't," Uma said, regret filling her eyes. "The crew..."

Evie nodded understandably and gave Uma one last kiss before turning away.

"Wait..." Mal said suddenly as they drove away from the Isle. "What are we going to do about my Cotillion dress?"

"Yeah, about that, I may have made a backup for if you changed your mind...It's purple."

~Umvie~

When Audrey stole the scepter, the first place they went was the Isle for a number of reasons. One, Mal needed her Dad's ember. Two, they needed some help.

"So let me get this clear, some Sleeping Brat stole the scepter of the most evil villain ever and now we have to get Hades' ember to stop her?"

"Yep, and we need your help," Evie said. "Plus Harry, Harriet, and Gil if they don't mind."

Uma chuckled and got the others, who readily agreed. They were able to defeat Audrey, but once again Evie lost Uma. It felt like every good-bye was more and more painful.

But then Mal and Ben's engagement party came and everyone in both the Isle and Auradon got the surprise of their lives.

~Umvie~

Evie raced through the crowd, and then saw Uma through all the people. She raced into her pirate's arms and Uma hugged her back. They'd seen each other a few times after Coronation, but this was the first time in a year they could truly be together.

After a few moments Evie pulled back and kissed Uma, not caring who was watching or if this was being broadcasted to the Isle. Let them know.

This pirate and princess had nothing to hide.

Done! This was fun. I like how it turned out. I wanted to write more about the space between (see what I did there?) Cotillion and the barrier being brought down, but I felt like this was already getting a bit too long.

Please review, and let me know if you have any ideas!
