Warning: Elena Gilbert bashing.
"What?"
Rebekah chuckled mirthless, "Remember what I told you about the doppelbänger and her friends finding the inscriptions in the cave? They also found the story of the hybrid killing the original witch."
"Rebekah…" Nik paused, as if comprehending the fact.
"Nik, I'm not mad at you," Rebekah smiled sadly as she heard his sigh of relief, remembering how she had betrayed him for their horrible mother, "remember I'm from the future. I understand why you did it."
"Are you okay?"
"I will be." Rebekah whispered, "Just come back home soon, ok? I miss you."
"I will. And I miss you too." her brother promised.
Later, in the Salvatore Boarding House, Stefan Salvatore was on the phone with Klaus Mikaelson. "Portland is fantastic. Once you get over all the whiny music and healthy-looking people, it's literally a breeding ground for the werewolves."
Stefan interrupted him, "Your father is dead."
Klaus froze, "What did you say to me?"
"Oh, my mistake. Not your birth father and not dead. Mikael. Daggered. What should I do with the body?"
"Well first I want you to tell me what exactly happened."
One hour earlier at the Salvatore Boarding House
"Let's say Mikael followed Elena back and planned to use her as bait, so he tried to grab her." Rebekah listened as the Save Elena gang formulated a plan to lure her brother back and kill him.
"And you what?" Elena asked, "Vervained him?"
"No, we vervained him." Damon corrected, "This guy is an original. Let's try to make it real."
"Fine. We vervained him and discovered he had a dagger that he planned on using on Rebekah so we daggered him instead." Stefan agreed with his brother.
"And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?" Elena questioned.
"Good point." Damon turned to Stefan, "You have been compelled to do whatever the hell Klaus says. The last we need is for you to tongue-trip and tell him everything."
"Well don't look at me. I'm just in charge of getting Klaus here."
Elena sighed, "Klaus is smart. If we tell him that Mikael is dead, he'll want proof."
Mikael strode into the room as if he owned it, "Then I shall be dead." the Viking announced.
"What if he wants to see your dead-slash-undead body in person?" Damon asked.
"That means we are on the right track. Klaus will ask to see my body. Then, you lure him here, and I kill him." Mikael stated.
"How?" Stefan asked.
"I'm in possession of a white oak stake that I will use to kill him. The only one left after my children burnt down."
"Where is it?"
"Nowhere you know," he dipped a dagger in the ashes of the white oak tree, "being the only one who knows where it is kept, is my insurance policy."
"Against what?"
"You leaving the dagger in my chest." the hunter looked up, "A vampire can't dagger an original without dying." He turned to Elena and thrusted his dagger towards her, "So you will have to do it."
Elena stuttered before she clumsily took the dagger, almost dropping it, "Y-you want me to actually dagger you?" she asked in shock.
"Klaus will leave nothing when it comes to me - especially trust."
Back to the present
Rebekah stood a few feet away from Sefan as he talked to Klaus. She pulled her brother's jacket around herself tighter as she heard their conversation.
"I want to see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself."
"Well, he is here. Come by whenever."
"If you are lying to me, Stefan, your compulsion will expose you. So, tell me, is Mikael dead, and did you see it with your own eyes?" Klaus asked.
"Yes, I saw it with my own eyes." Stefan confirmed.
"I want to talk to Rebekah."
"No problem. She's beside me." Stefan said and passed her the phone.
"Hello, Nik." she greeted him softly, but with an underlying tone of happiness that only he would pick up.
"Rebekah, love." she smiled at his happy tone, "What is it that I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with a dagger?"
"It's true. He's finally out of our lives. I'm utterly miserable here. Come home quickly." she sighed, before she looked around at the other occupants of the room, "Freya would like it here."
Klaus sighed, "I'll be there soon. I promise."
Damon smirked, "Now, that wasn't so hard, was it?"
Elena sighed in disappointment, at which Rebekah inwardly rolled her eyes, "Let's just get this over." she pulled the dagger out of the destroyer's body.
Later, Mikael was still dead on the floor, meanwhile Rebekah was sitting in the chair, painting her toes. The doppelbänger and the Salvatores were in the next room, waiting for her father to wake. Soon, Mikael moved, and in a few moments was up.
"Finally. Took you long enough. Makes people think you've gotten weak." she snapped at him.
"Rebekah…" her father trailed off.
"Save whatever fatherly bullshit you have." Rebekah told him. She had feared him for a thousand years. She wasn't going to make the mistake once again.
Mikael stood silently for a minute, "Where is my dagger?"
"Elena has it. You can't use it on me."
"You were never what I was after."
"Nik is family." she switched to their native tongue, "You were after him, so you were after all of us! You tried to kill us! My brothers are daggered so that they can be safe from you!" she exploded and screamed at him.
"Your love to him has blinded you! He killed your mother!" Mikael exclaimed, also switching to Norse.
"I know what he did! And why should I care if he killed our mother? She let you abuse him! Whether it was his fault or not! I hate you! You broke our family. Not him. You!"
"Rebekah… I love yo-"
She cut him off, "For a thousand years, I have wished for a father who truly loved me. But instead, I got you! Finn lost nine hundred years of his life because of you!"
"He is daggered because of that abomination you call brother!"
"We daggered him because we feared he would go to you, so you would kill him!" Rebekah hissed at him, "Finn is our brother! We love him! What do you think we feel, daggering him, and not seeing and hearing him since nine centuries? It is mother's and you're fault that the idea of us being abominations is rooted in his head."
Rebekah stood up, facing her father with malice on her face, "I will protect my family, father, and I will kill anyone who dares to come in my path." and with that she walked out, leaving a shocked original.
Rebekah looked at herself in the mirror. She was wearing the same dress she was wearing last time. It was a beautiful dress.
"Getting a head start, huh?" Elena walked into the room.
"It's a high school dance, Elena." Rebekah reminded her, "Between being daggered and running from Mikael, I never had time for something like this."
"Ever?" Elena asked.
"Nik and I were always moving around, running." Rebekah shrugged, "Have you heard from my brother?"
"No, but when he returns, he'll come with flair."
"Are Damon and Mikael done setting up the plan?" she asked with fake curiosity and Elena nodded.
"I know it's really hard for you to help kill your brother. So thank you for helping us."
"I didn't do it out of sympathy. I have my own goal." the blonde replied stiffly.
"How do I look?" she changed the subject.
"Beautiful! But one thing is missing." Elena went to tie the necklace to the original's neck.
Rebekah nodded, knowing what was coming. And she was prepared, "Thank you."
As Elena moved, Rebekah sped towards her and grabbed the dagger, "I thought you were smarter Elena."
Elena's eyes widened.
"You see, I've been watching you. You don't consume vervain. So my necklace was your protection." Rebekah taunted her, "Which means I can compel you."
Rebekah grabbed the brunette by her shoulder, forcing her to look into the vampire's eyes, "When someone asks, you will tell them that you daggered me. You will not tell them that you're compelled or that the plan failed. You will know you are compelled, but will act normally." Rebekah tilted her head, "You will not ingest or wear vervain around the original family."
Rebekah blinked and stepped back a few steps, a smirk playing on her lips. She twirled the dagger in her hands, "When my brothers wake up, I'd watch myself around them. They won't be nice. You tried to dagger me and woke Mikael up." she shrugged, "They're a bit overprotective, but I love them for it."
"Goodbye Doppebänger."
As she was leaving the house, she called her brother, "Nik!" she exclaimed happily.
"Hello Bekah. Feeling better?"
"Pretty good, considering that Elena tried to dagger me." she answered.
"Are you okay?" he immediately asked.
"I am. Now, I need you to trust me. Move our family's coffins immediately, and don't tell Stefan Salvatore where you kept them." she told him.
"I will have them moved immediately." Nik assured her, "But why?"
"I'll tell you afterwards. Let's just say, last time, it caused havoc since you told the younger Salvatore where you kept them."
"Right now, father has gone to bring a white oak stake. He'll be back tonight. I'm on my way. Don't do anything stupid till then."
"I got it, Bex. Thanks for the advice. See you in a few hours."
"You too."
Rebekah smirked. Everything was going according to plan. Now, they just had to kill Mikael, and she could wake her siblings.
Soon, the Mikaelsons would be back together.
