A/N: I don't own TVD or TO.
Rebekah and Freya were in the blonde vampire's room, giggling at something Freya had told her.
"Did you see Sage? I asked her to come, but she said that she had some work to do before moving in." Rebekah murmured.
"No. Don't worry, she's probably packing," Freya assured her sister.
Suddenly Finn barged into their room, "Sisters, I need your help! Like, right now!" he exclaimed in panic.
"Calm down." Rebekah slowly patted his back, "What help do you want?"
"Iwanttoproposetosage!" he said too fast even for the vampire's ears.
"Talk slowly," Freya instructed him
"I want to propose to Sage," he told them.
He flinched as two screams echoed through the mansion. Elijah and Klaus, who were in the library, and Kol, who was in the kitchen, jumped in surprise as two hideous shrills reached their ears. Well, not hideous. More like… loud, very loud.
But what can you expect from three boys?
"What the bloody hell happened?!" Kol shouted as soon as the screams stopped.
"Nothing. Just that we are holding a ball, and that we are going to get a sister-in-law." Rebekah said calmly.
"What?!"
Finn sighed as he stared at the endless row of rings that were in front of him. His sisters had taken him to one of the most prestigious and expensive shops in the whole world.
Not that he was complaining. He was, after all, an original. A part of the richest family in the whole world.
(Not that humans knew, of course.)
He was skimming through each ring when one caught his eye. It was a plain band, but it had the most beautiful ruby he had ever seen. The stone had caught his attention because the color exactly matched his beloved's hair.
"Excuse me, I want this one. How much for it?" he asked.
"That one is for 30,000 dollars." the employee told them.
He nodded and picked the ring up as his sisters fawned over it. Hopefully, Sage would like it too. As he stepped out of the shop, he felt nervous.
"Is it too soon? Will she say yes? Does she even want to marry me?" Finn rambled on, and to be honest, Rebekah found it cute. A lot.
"Yes, Finn. She loves you. And she will say yes." the witch calmed the vampire.
"Thanks, Frey. I don't know what I would do without you."
"You're welcome. Now, can you tell me, why are there creaking noises from your room at night?"
"Freya!"
Kol sighed out of boredom as his sisters, Finn, Elijah and Sage were going over the guest list.
"Add the Salvatores and Katherine Pierce," Rebekah instructed.
Elijah spit his wine out at hearing the latter's name, Klaus ducking in time to avoid it. The second oldest brother sputtered as if he still hadn't processed what his sister had said.
In the midst of this, half of the family burst out laughing, Rebekah and Kol were literally rolling on the ground as tears came out of their eyes. Sage and Freya chuckled until their stomachs ached. Meanwhile, Finn just smiled and Klaus looked like he had half a mind to yell and half a mind to burst out laughing.
"Katerina? Why?" the noble brother cried out in desperation.
"I have my own goals. And I don't have to tell you what they are." Rebekah answered with a smirk as she helped Kol up.
"Wait, but won't the locals notice if there are two Elenas?" Sage asked.
"What's magic for?" Freya countered with a smirk.
"That's why I love it!" Kol exclaimed with a grin.
"Now, can someone get me a knife? I need to cut the tension that Elijah has." Rebekah suggested with a grin.
"Rebekah! Rein yourself in!" Finn exclaimed.
"Hey, I'm not a horse, you are! Jerk!"
And that was the cue for the family to burst out laughing again.
Katherine opened the door, irritated that she was disturbed during her relaxation time. She only had it once in fifty years.
"What do yo-" she cut herself off when she saw who it was.
"Elijah Mikaelson." she greeted the love of her life neutrally, after all, he could be here to kill her for Klaus.
"Katerina Petrova." he greeted her back, kind of nostalgic after seeing her.
"It's Katherine Pierce now. I didn't know you had been undaggered," she told him.
"I know," he trod carefully.
"You know, you wouldn't be here if it weren't to kill me. So do it. It's not like I care actually." she told him, trying not to break down.
"Actually, I'm here to give you something," Elijah said nervously.
He extended the invitation to her and she took it. She read the content and was shocked.
'Katherine Pierce.
You are officially invited to the Mikaelson Ball on the 31st, Monday.
The timing is 6 pm.
Sincerely,
The Mikaelsons.'
She turned the letter around and saw a note clipped behind in elegant writing say,
'Dear Katerina,
Your dress is in the package with the letter, Elijah picked it himself, so don't disappoint him by not wearing it. I want to talk to you personally about someone we both care about. Meet me at the balcony after the ball.
Rebekah Mikaelson'
Elijah then produced a package out of nowhere and gave it to her and left before she had the chance to process anything.
"Weird," she muttered as she closed the door.
"Really weird."
Finn poured himself and Sage drinks as the doppelbänger headed towards the champagne glasses. He turned around and regarded her with judgment, a look of distaste coming to his face.
"Hello. I'm assuming you are the newest doppelgänger, Elena Gilbert?"
"Yeah. But who are you?" she asked.
"I am Finn Mikaelson. I would say nice to meet you, but it really isn't." and with that, he walked away, leaving an angry doppelbänger in his wake.
Kol walked down the stairs and spotted a black-haired, blue-eyed man.
'Must be Damon Salvatore.' he thought to himself.
He walked over to Damon and his companion and heard them talk.
"I'm the mayor, Damon. When the oldest, deadliest family of vampires come to your town, you welcome them with a smile." neither of them noticed the original coming their way.
'Ah, that is Carol Lockwood.'
"My job is to protect this town. They've assured me they want peace and I've assured them I'd enforce it."
"Mayor Lockwood." Kol greeted, "We haven't officially met."
He took her hand, "I am Kol Mikaelson." and he kissed the back of it, "I hope your town embraces us as much as we plan to embrace it."
Damon spoke up, "Damon Salvatore. Forgive me if I'm a bit wary, but your brother tried to take my brother's true love away."
Kol tilted his head, perhaps the only thing Damon missed that would make Rebekah and Klaus his friends was that he gave hints, not full answers.
"Nice to meet you. And Nik didn't know that Elena was Stefan's true love. Otherwise he wouldn't have acted so rashly. But still, nice to meet you, Damon." he said as they shook hands.
Damon then left with the excuse of getting a drink. He was lost in thoughts when he almost bumped into a blonde girl.
"I'm sorry, I wasn't watching where I was going."
"It's alright." the blonde helped him up, "I'm Freya, Freya Mikaelson."
" Damon Salvatore. Nice to meet you."
Rebekah glanced around as the ball started. She was wearing the same dress as last time and so were her brothers. Freya was wearing a stunning light green strapless dress and her hair was curled. Sage was wearing a sky blue dress that had a bow in the back.
Everyone was chatting and eating. She spotted Kol talking to Carol Lockwood, Finn, and Sage eating, Klaus and Elijah were interacting with the locals and Freya was talking with Damon.
She walked over to her sister and couldn't help but overhear.
"So, let me get this right, you are in love with Elena? And she is in love with Stefan?" Freya asked the dark-haired man.
"Yup. Heartbreak city is the worst place." Damon answered as he shook his head.
"Maybe you should try to move on then. Perhaps you'll find someone who loves you back." Freya suggested.
She interrupted them, a plan already forming in her mind, "Hello Damon." she nodded to him, "Sister."
"Hey, Barbie Klaus. Here to whine? Or is it to drag your sister away from me so I don't corrupt her?" asked Salvatore sarcastically.
"Actually, no. I'm here to tell you I want you to call me …" she thought for a second, "... in a week or so. I have an offer that you will be interested in."
"About what?"
"Let's just say it's one to get Stefan away from all this shit that he's gotten himself into." both of them rolled their eyes at that, Stefan really did go to new lengths to protect everyone he loved.
"Plus, on top of that, I can promise you that he will not be killed by anyone in the supernatural world," she told him and smirked as his eyes widened in interest.
He nodded and she looped her arm through her sister's and left him alone, to ponder her offer to talk. Elijah motioned for their siblings to join him and Klaus on the stairs. Sage came with Finn since she too was a Mikaelson.
"If everyone could join us," Elijah called out and a crowd gathered.
"Why are you so interested in Damon? I thought you hated him?" Freya asked her as they made their way to the stairs.
"Oh, I do. We both just have a common goal. Keeping Stefan safe and alive." she answered as both of them took their respective places beside their siblings.
Freya, Sage, and Finn were on the top steps, with Finn leaning on the rail and Sage beside him. Elijah stood directly below Freya with Klaus across him. Lastly, Rebekah stood with Kol as he slipped an arm around her waist.
"Welcome," Finn spoke.
"Thank you for joining us. I am Freya." Freya continued, they had already planned everything they were going to speak, after all, they had to instill fear in their enemies. And Freya was chosen as the spokesperson.
"It is a must for us to celebrate whenever we all come together. It seems like it's been a thousand years since the six of us are finally together."
Those who knew the Mikaelsons stiffened. They had only met three of them till now. Well, five if you counted Damon.
"It's a tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if you could find yourselves a partner, please join us on the dance floor." they raised their glasses.
"Have a great evening." she finished and they clinked their glasses together, muttering their family's vow before downing the champagne.
"It's tradition, sis." Klaus grinned and extended his hand.
"Of course, Nik." and with that, they went to grace the dancefloor with their presence.

Hope you liked it.
