Stefan sighed as he rang the bell of the Mikaelson Manor with Damon behind him. They had come a bit early. He looked up as Rebekah opened the door.
He nodded, "Rebekah." He greeted her.
She smiled, "Stefan."
She opened the door more to let them in. He smiled in thanks to her. He entered and Damon followed, smiling at Rebekah.
'He never does that. How weird!'
Elijah's voice rang out from behind, loud and clear as the sky, "Welcome."
He turned around, "Thank you for inviting us." He said.
Kol, who appeared from nowhere, nodded, "Blah, blah, blah. Let's cut the formal crap and cut to the chase, shall we?" The brunette rolled his eyes.
"Kol, language!" Freya scolded him.
"Yeah, yeah!"
Sage hummed, "Where are your friends?"
Damon answered, "We don't know. After all, we are not responsible for those kids."
Stefan rolled his eyes, in these two days, ever since Freya had approached Damon, he had started to be even more horrible towards Elena and the others, well except for Alaric and him.
He didn't think that Elena saying his brother's love was a problem was fine. Oh no. He got very angry when he heard his brother fight with Elena over that.
So he confronted her. And when she acted as nothing happened, he went on a ripper feast.
Alaric discovered him, covered in blood and dead bodies lying around him. The hunter wanted to call his brother and the doppelgänger but Stefan begged him not to. Thankfully, Alaric understood after he told him everything.
Now, it was his decision again. Whether to be with Elena or to be with Damon, who had raised him, protected him.
He chose his brother. Like he would always.
Now he just needed to decide how to tell her the news.
Katherine smirked as the Scooby Gang stared at her in horror and confusion. Well except for the witch.
(She had to admit, Rebekah's name perfectly suited those idiots)
Caroline opened her mouth, "Katherine. What are you doing here?" The dumb blonde asked.
(Not that all blondes were dumb -just look at Freya and Rebekah- this one was just an exception)
"Don't you know? I am an ally of the Mikaelsons." She flaunted.
Elena's eyes widened, "That is not possible!" She whispered.
"Of course it is."
"Elijah would- would never agree to this!" The brunette stammered.
Katherine rolled her eyes, how stupid can one be?!
"Elijah actually was the one who initiated it by giving me my invite to the ball a few days ago." The smug look on her face was never wiped.
Bonnie, who was silent, rang the bell. The Petrova had to control her sneer, she clearly remembered threatening the witch that if she told her friends about anything, they would kill them all. It was pathetic how Bonnie bent to their will.
She stepped closer to the door and prepared herself for the dramatic and satisfying dinner as it swung open.
Freya hummed as dinner was served. Everyone was silent, waiting for someone or the other to cut through the silence. She decided to take the initiative.
She cleared her throat and everyone looked at her, "Good evening, gentlemen, ladies." She nodded.
"As you know, we are here to discuss a treaty that will benefit all of us. Quite simple." She looked at each one individually.
Her siblings, Sage, Damon, and Katherine were at ease, smirking, hiding laughs, or sniggering.
Stefan and Alaric were the only ones out of the Save Elena Gang who wasn't nervous. The others looked nervous or were petrified.
(The thought alone gave her a lot of satisfaction)
Stefan kept his fork down, "Yes. And if anyone doesn't mind, I'd like to get along with it." He looked around, challenging anyone to disagree with him.
This Stefan was quite different from the one Rebekah told her about. Perhaps since his switch was off.
Rebekah spoke up, "If you don't mind, after the treaty, I'd like to tell you a story related to all this." She tilted her head.
Damon answered, "Of course."
Well, it was time for the dinner to actually bloody start.
Sage looked around as her fiánce spoke. Fiánce. The word still thrilled her. She stopped herself from smiling in pure delight just by thinking the word.
'Concentrate!' She scolded herself.
"...we want Elena's blood so that Niklaus can make his hybrids. In return, we will not trouble you, unless, of course," Finn looked around, "it is your group who instigates it first."
Elena nodded, "Ca-" She was cut off by Damon.
"I think Stef and I should decide since we are older and more experienced."
Elena tried to protest, "But it's about me!"
"So? Someone dies when you make a choice, Elena!" Damon exclaimed.
Finally, Damon was standing for himself!
Caroline opened her mouth but Klaus spoke first, "I agree with Damon. He and Stefan should make the decisions on behalf of your… group of friends." He said.
Elena sighed, backing down, "Fine."
Elijah spoke first, "Well, these are our terms…"
"...do you accept?" He asked.
Elijah looked at the Salvatores. He had laid the treaty very carefully. As much as he hated it, he had to admit, his family already had a lot of problems, Mystic Falls was the only one they could solve currently. And, if they got a few allies with it, well, he had no problem.
Damon said, "We accept." The blue-eyed vampire flopped down on the couch in the library where they currently were.
Rebekah sat with him, though more graciously. He sighed before sitting down himself, which was apparently the sign for everyone else to also take a seat.
Rebekah clapped her hands to get everyone's attention, "Well, since everyone is seated, let's start with the story."
Alaric Saltzman looked at the blonde in curiosity, "What is it about?" He asked.
"It's about Katherine and Elena, the doppelgängers."
"What about us?" Elena asked.
Rebekah smirked, "Well, you'll just have to wait and listen."
"Two thousand years ago, there were two witches named Silas and Qetsiyah."
Oh, he knew what she intended to do!
And by the looks of it, so did Freya and Finn. Kol and Klaus still looked confused as the rest of them.
Caroline spoke up, "What does that have to do with us?"
Rebekah glared at her, "Just shut up and listen!" Caroline pouted at that.
"Now, where were we? Right, so both of them were engaged, but Silas fell in love with her servant, Amara, and cheated on Qetsiyah with her." Ignoring Bonnie's mutter about what a jerk Silas was, she presumed her storytelling.
"He then convinced Qetsiyah to make an immortality potion for them to take, but instead took it with Amara."
Stefan looked at her in shock, "But I thought you guys were the first immortals in existence?" He asked.
Sage answered for her, "No. There's also Cade, the devil. He's 4000 years old." At which everyone but his family looked shocked.
His sister took a deep breath before she continued, "Qetsiyah then found out about them. She gave Silas one more chance to be with her but he said no. So she killed the servant and buried him in stone."
Damon winced, "Ouch."
"But my question still remains. What does that have to do with us?" Caroline asked again.
Rebekah smirked, "Because Qetsiyah then put a spell on them. Once every 250 years or so, two children, one girl, one boy, would be born in their lines, destined to fall in love with each other because they were shadows or doppelgängers of Amara and Silas."
She then looked towards Stefan, Katherine, and Elena, "Aka, you three."
"What the-"
