Stefan stared at Lexi, his best friend who had always helped and loved him like a little brother.
She smiled at him, that same smile that he hadn't seen in almost two years and Stefan couldn't help it. He sobbed as tears started trekking down his cheeks.
Lexi got a stern look on her face, "Hey, don't cry because of me." She said and opened her arms.
He nodded before he hugged her. He smelled her chamomile and rose shampoo that she always used, the smell calming his senses down. He had missed her so much, her smile, her hugs, her advice, heck, even her jokes about him being dark, mysterious, and broody.
"I missed you too."
He hugged her closer, "I would never cry because of you." He said and she hummed.
Everything was finally fine in the world.
Freya hummed 'Enchanted' by Taylor Swift as she walked in the town quarter. She had come to get some eggs and bacon for her since the others didn't eat.
She then noticed something weird, everyone in the quarter had stopped and was looking or pointing at her.
Her eyes widened as she recognized the traces of magic left, "No. No." She muttered as she turned to leave quickly.
As soon as she turned, she gasped as she saw the face of someone she hated and never wanted to see again.
"Hello, my sweet niece." A woman dressed completely in black said with malice.
She then said the name she had feared for centuries, "Dahlia."
"What do you mean he was attacked?!"
Stefan rolled his eyes at Klaus's overdramatic, "Well, according to Tyler, he was with Caroline in his home when he heard the bell ring. He was suspicious because it was a weird time for someone to visit. He went down and when he shook hands with the guy, he was burned by vervain. Then the hunter, whose name is Connor Jordan shot him."
He noticed the weirdly satisfied look on the hybrid's face, "He barely escaped with his life." He left the 'he needs to be protected' unsaid.
Klaus groaned, "Fine. You can have two of the hybrids as his bodyguards." He answered.
"I would say thanks, but Tyler is your responsibility considering you turned him into a hybrid." Stefan threw at him.
"Hey!"
"What?! It's true!" He raised eyebrows in deadpan.
"Damn you."
Rebekah stared at the wall. As she had been for the past twenty minutes. Echoes of the past had suffocated her, watching Elijah and Nik stab each other and crumble away, receiving Kol's body, finding Freya dead, Finn dying from Lucien's werewolf bite…
'Why couldn't it ever just be her?'
Finn died twice. Kol died thrice. Elijah dedicated himself to their family. Nik bore their father's abuse because they caused trouble.
(No. Because she caused trouble.)
Freya spent centuries with Dahlia, then centuries running from the same woman who abused her.
And all she did was nothing.
(In the back of her mind, she knew what she was thinking was wrong, but she just couldn't stop. It was so, so…addicting!)
And on top of that, she had broken her promise to Nik that she would always be there for Hope.
But no, Hope dealt with everything on her own. And when she finally visited her niece, she told the tribrid that her father would've been ashamed because Hope had switched her humanity off and killed a few people.
And after Hope's humanity came back, she had forgiven her beloved Aunty Bex. Even though she didn't deserve her forgiveness.
(A voice in her head whispered, "And you never will." And she agreed.)
She was shaken out of thoughts by Sage.
"Hey, Bex. I need help with the wedding arrangements." The redhead walked in.
"What problem do you have?"
"Finn! Katherine!" Freya gasped in relief.
Finn, confused, accepted Freya's hug. He furrowed his eyebrows when he saw her shivering. Katherine tilted her head at him silently asking him why Freya was so nervous.
He cautiously broke the hug, "Frey, what exactly happened?"
"I saw her," Freya answered vaguely.
"Her who?" Impatiently, Katherine took the lead.
"Dahlia."
His eyes widened. Though Dahlia waking up was inevitable, she shouldn't have found Freya so quickly. They had estimated that it would take their aunt at least a month to find them.
"How?" He asked her.
Freya sniffed, "I don't know." After clearing her throat`, she resumed, "She threatened me to go back to her or else she would kill me."
"It's alright." He soothed her, even though he had doubts.
Damon grimaced as he saw Tyler covered in bandages on his extremely expensive vintage couch.
'Why do they always have to bleed on my expensive and valuable things?' He questioned himself.
"Be careful Teen Wolf. Don't bleed out on my expensive vintage couch." He snapped.
Tyler gritted his teeth in pain, "Oh please, like you even paid for it!"
"Why are you even bleeding?" He changed the topic.
"Got attacked by a hunter. Stefan patched me up and went to tell Klaus about it." The wolf muttered.
"Well, it's a good thing that he told me. Otherwise, Connor Jordan, the hunter would've killed you without my help." A voice came from behind him.
Damon turned around and saw Klaus and Stefan standing at the door. Stefan was brooding as usual and Klaus had a smirk on his lips.
Tyler groaned, "Did you really have to bring him here?" He asked Stefan, ignoring the hybrid.
Klaus frowned, "Do not ignore me, Tyler. I am your sire and I have kindly granted you two of my hybrids as your bodyguards." He said smugly and arrogantly.
Stefan raised an eyebrow, "You did? Because I remember that I forced you to do so."
"Anyways." Klaus quickly changed the subject.
Damon smirked, amused by the hybrid.
Suddenly a screech was heard, "Stefan! What is a naked girl doing in your bedroom?!"
