Awakening Part 1
Construction had finally been complete. Xanatos looked on in his personal helicopter as it rose above the clouds where the top of his tower was located. Thanks to the hardworking construction workers under his employ, Castle Wyvern had finally been rebuilt on top of the tower.
And he made sure that the tower peaked just above the clouds.
"In just a few hours, Owen...everything will come together." Xanatos said to his assistant with a smile.
"You must be feeling very proud, sir." Owen said in his usual deadpanned tone.
"I usually don't value myself as a prideful man, Owen, but even I admit that this puts a smile on my face." Xanatos said.
Owen glanced out the window and could see the sun beginning to set. "It will be night in just a couple of hours." Owen noted.
"Then it's best not to keep our new friends waiting." Xanatos said as the helicopter made its way towards the castle.
/
A man stood by a van as he took a swig of his cigarette. He waited patiently until he heard footsteps coming towards him and saw three men wearing the usual clothes you wear to try and look tough. Well, it didn't matter to him, so long as their money was still good.
"Gentlemen..." The owner of the van said as he opened the side door to reveal a whole cache of different weapons and firearms. "...let's start the bidding."
"I'd like to make a bid."
The four of them looked up in surprise to see Blue Beetle hovering just above their heads with his arms crossed and a smirk on his face.
"How about I bid one solid butt-kicking, and raise you a quick trip to jail." Beetle said as he transformed his right hand into a mace.
"It's Blue Beetle! Get him!" One of the thugs said as he reached in the van and grabbed a rifle, same with his two friends. They opened fire, but the bullets didn't seem to faze the hero as they just bounced right off him.
"Yeah, nice comeback." Blue Beetle said as he landed.
He swung his mace and hit one of the thugs, knocking him out. He transformed his other hand into his sonic cannon and fired at the second thug, causing to crash into the wall. The third one tried to hit him with the blunt end of his rifle, but the hero managed to grab it, and them countered with a kick to the man's midsection, sending crashing into a dumpster.
The bidder looked on in fright as he jumped into the driver's seat of his van and floored it. The van sped off, but Blue Beetle simply raised his sonic cannon and fired at it, causing it to flip forward and land upside down. The driver groaned as he was disoriented, which didn't help as a Beetle grabbed him and yanked him right out of the driver's seat.
"Now you don't want to just take off out of the blue. After all, you'll miss trash day." Blue Beetle said as he tossed the guy right into a dumpster, the impact knocking him unconcious, and he did the same thing with the other three. "Police are already on their way, so I'll just let them deal with you losers."
Blue Beetle activated his rocket pack and flew straight up into the air. He flew around the city and couldn't help but smile at a job well done.
"It is confusing on why these organics continue to commit crime, when they know that you defend this city."
"Sometimes people just hate work, but want to make money by any means." Danny replied.
Danny couldn't help but draw his mind back to when he faces off against Warp about a month ago. There hasn't been any big super villains since that fight, but Danny couldn't help but feel like he was the catalyst for something bigger. He mentioned that he worked with some powerful people, and he was sent to take out the previous Blue Beetle. If those same people sent Warp after him, then maybe others may come.
"Man, I wonder what the previous Blue Beetle did to get under these guy's radar." Danny muttered to himself. "You know anything? Anything from your memory banks been find up?"
"Negative. My memory banks are still corrupted and therefor unable to be accessed. I currently have no memories of the one you call Blue Beetle before you."
"Well, looks like we're going to have to do a lot of research in my predecessor. If I'm going to live up to his name, I'm going to have to learn more than just reading old news clippings and looking at a statue." Danny said with a sigh.
As Danny continued to fly, he couldn't help but stare back at Xanatos Enterprise's giant tower. He didn't think that thing could get any bigger, but then the big man himself, Xanatos, went and made it taller and to tip it off, he added a castle to it.
"Why would a guy as rich as him would need a tower?" Danny questioned as he then took notice that it was getting late. "Sun's going down, guess I'll patrol for a few more hours and them head home."
/
Xanatos waited on top of one of the castle towers, all by himself with nothing but a single gargoyle statue in a kneeling position with a fist on its chin. The level below him held five more gargoyle statues. The wind began to pick up as he just continued to stand there, watching as the sun continued to sink lower in the distance, and waiting for the moment to happen.
The sun soon fully set, beginning the night.
"Don't disappoint me." Xanatos muttered as he looked at the statue.
At first, nothing seemed to happen, but then Xanatos could feel the wind beginning to pick up, and the clouds started to darken. Rain began to pour down as thunder boomed throughout the night sky. Xanatos looked on as this didn't feel like a natural storm at all. He looked back at the statue as it began to crack. It started small, but then the cracks began to spread all over the statue's body, until it seemed to break off completely.
Xanatos gasped as the stone skin completely shattered off as the creature now looked more flesh and bone, rather than stone. It had long black hair, wore a loincloth, and was very muscular. The clawed feet grasped onto the stone pedestal, causing it to crack, and the wings on its back stretched.
Finally, after more than a millennia of slumber, Goliath, leader of the gargoyle clan of Castle Wyvern, lives again.
"Haaa...Raaaaaah!" Goliath roared to the heavens as he spread his arms and wings out, after feeling the fresh air hit his skin.
On the second level of the tower, the same thing happened to the gargoyle statues down there. Their stone skin began to crack as they stretched their bodies to release themselves from their sleep. Each of them gave out a roar as well.
The five gargoyles below varied in different ways. One of them looked like an old man with a scar on his eye, wearing armor, and had a sword. The second one had red skin, long white hair, and had a beak. The third one was the smallest among them, had green skin, and his wings were stretched on the side of his body instead of being on his back. The fourth gargoyle looked a lot more heavy than the others, and had teal skin. The last one had the most different features as he looked more like a dog, even barked like one, and had no wings.
Goliath jumped down and silently gasped as he saw his rookery clan members alive and awake. He remembered it all so clearly, how his clan was betrayed by his closest human friend, how he and the survivors retaliated against the vikings for shattering the others while they slept in stone, and how the Magus sealed them in stone sleep with a spell. He couldn't believe that this was really happening, and yet it is.
"You're awake?" Goliath questioned before he smiled joyfully. "You're alive! We're together again!"
All of them cheered as they were just as happy to be free. The cheering stopped though when the gargoyle beast growled as he looked down below the castle tower. All of them saw what he was growling at and gasped as they saw the city beneath them. The buildings looked taller than the castle itself, which made them wonder how the castle itself was even taller. They could could hear strange noises from down below and the lights shining on the buildings really confused them.
"What's this?! Where are we?!" The old gargoyle asked.
They then heard footsteps behind them and turned to see Xanatos walking down the steps, smiling at them. Each of the gargoyles were instantly on edge as they never seen this human before, and he was wearing some strange garbs in their opinion.
"You are the one called Goliath?" Xanatos asked.
"Yes?" Goliath said cautiously.
"Excellent." Xanatos said with a smile.
/
Xanatos brought them to his office within the restored castle and explained to them that he discovered them in stone at the castle. How he brought them over to Manhattan and placed their castle over his tower.
"How long has it been?" Goliath asked, though he was afraid of the answer.
"This may come as a shock. More than a thousand years has gone by since the spell was cast." Xanatos said with sympathy. The news of their extended slumber shook them to the gargoyles to their core, but they let Xanatos continue. "I learned about the castle and you six from an ancient book that recently came into my possession." Xanatos pointed towards a glass case that actually contained the Grimorum, the spell book that the Magus wielded. "The Magus who cursed you wrote the whole story down in there. Now, I'm sure you have questions."
"How did you break the spell?" The old gargoyle asked as he took a step forward.
"It was designed to end when the castle rose above the clouds." Xanatos answered.
"The eggs in the rookery?" The green one asked.
Xanatos looked down with regret before answering. "Gone, I'm afraid. You are the last of your kind."
Each of the gargoyles had a look of sadness cross their faces. How else was one suspect to react when they find out that not only were they asleep for over a thousand years, but they may very well be the last gargoyles in existence.
"Why have you done all this?" Goliath asked.
"I was fascinated by the Magus' story. I wanted to see if it was true." Xanatos said as he approached Goliath a placed a hand on his shoulder. "And now that I know that it is, I want to be your friend. There is much we can do for each other, Goliath."
Goliath looked at his before giving him a skeptical look. "Such as?"
"Well, we could-" Xanatos stopped talking as he heard a helicopter approaching, which confused him. "I'm not expecting company." He muttered as he was about to leave, but not before turning to the gargoyles. "You'll be safer if you stay here."
Each of the gargoyles looked at each other skeptically. This human just shows up out of nowhere, claims he wants be their friend, and then orders them to stay here as there was possible danger approaching? This is still their home, no matter what time period it was. With that in mind, they followed Xanatos.
When Xanatos stepped outside, he had to cover his eyes as a helicopter flew up and shined a light on him. Over a dozen armed soldiers roped down out of the helicopter.
"Secure the area!" One of the soldiers ordered as most of the soldiers stationed themselves in different parts of the castle, while three of them pointed their guns at Xanatos.
"What do you want?" Xanatos demanded.
"You'll know soon enough." One of the soldiers said as they each primed their weapons to fire.
What neither of them noticed, was that in an open doorway in the castle, Goliath and his clan were watching.
"What's going on? Who are these people?" The red gargoyle asked.
"They're attacking the castle! That's all we need to know!" The old gargoyle exclaimed.
Goliath roared as he and his clan charged in and leapt into action. Each of the soldiers gasped in fright by the new arrivals as they spread out. One soldier tried to shoot Goliath as he tried to punch on him, but when each shot missed, he rolled out of the way. Goliath tried to swipe at his feet with his tail, butte soldier jumped over it and tackled Goliath to the wall. Goliath was stunned at first as these soldiers seemed more well trained then the Vikings, but he'll take them down all the same.
The soldier was about to shoot at Goliath, but Xanatos came in and chopped the weapon out of the soldier's hands and then judo-throw him over his shoulder. He was about to reach for the weapon, but another soldier came in and blocked his path. All of a sudden, the teal gargoyle growled at the soldier, his eyes glowing white.
"Nice mask." The soldier said with a smirk, but the tael gargoyle didn't respond as he continued to growl.
The soldier brandished a large knife and tried to slash at the tael gargoyle, but he moved back to avoid. He ended up tripping and falling on his back, then the soldier tried to capitalize on that and made a jump to stab him, but the gargoyle put his feet up and kicked the soldier away.
The soldier got back up when the old gargoyle saw him and charged at him with his sword drawn. The soldier brought put a device as it shot a small harpoon into the old gargoyle, and proceeded to electrocute him, causing him to scream in pain.
"Leave him alone!" He red gargoyle exclaimed as he grabbed the soldier and tossed right into the wall.
The red one, along with the green and teal gargoyles came and approach their fallen comrade. Another soldier came in with a grenade and tossed it at them, only for the green gargoyle to catch it in midair. He inspected the device, but seeing as how nothing happened he just tossed it away. That was when it exploded from behind them, knocking them back.
The explosion was not only heard throughout the castle, but some onlookers from ground level looked up and could see bright flashes of light within the clouds.
/
Blue Beetle yawned as he left a couple of thieves lying on the ground unconscious and tied up, leaving them for the cops to take care of. He took off into the air and glanced at the clouds in the sky.
"Man, I wonder where that lightning storm came from. The weatherman said that it was gonna be nice all weekend."
"Wasn't it you who said that they are always incorrect?"
"Yeah, but a guy can dream they can be right every once in awhile." Danny said with a chuckle.
BOOM!
Danny paused in flight and looked around to find put where that noise came from. He looked in the direction of the Xanatos Enterprise tower and could see red flashes where the top was within the clouds.
"What the...what's going on there?" Danny questioned.
"I am picking sounds firearms and explosions. It appears to be a battle of some kind."
"We better get over there to make sure nobody gets hurt." Danny said as he rocketed over there at top speeds.
/
Xanatos ran up to one of the castle walls and pressed against one of the bricks. A hatch opened with the walls and a rifle was displayed, which Xanatos picked up.
A soldier and were facing off and was about to shoot the gargoyle leader, but Xanatos fired his laser rifle at the wall behind the soldier, causing it to collapse and fall on top of him. Goliath glances back at Xanatos, who smiled at him, before continuing the fight and Xanatos continued to fire at the intruders.
One of the soldiers on top of the wall walkway ran until she hit a dead end and turned to see the small green gargoyle facing her.
"Are you a Viking?" The green gargoyle asked.
The soldier fired at him, causing him jump out of the way to avoid getting shot and jump over the wall. The soldier peered over to try and seem him, but all she could see was clouds. She missed him gliding out of the clouds and that gave him the opportunity to dive bomb towards her and tackle her back to the second level. Her weapon landed wight in front of Goliath and the elder gargoyle, as they looked at it with confusion.
"These weapons...we must be battling sorcerers!" The elder gargoyle exclaimed.
"Even so, we will protect this castle. It is all we have left!" Goliath argued as he and the elder gargoyle jumped to avoid another grenade explosion.
The red gargoyle avoided a few knife strikes from another soldier. Xanatos came in close and aimed his laser rifle right at the soldier.
"Time to take the gloves off." Xanatos muttered as he aimed it and was about to fire. He didn't get the chance to shoot the soldier as another one came in and tackled him, which messed up his shot and ended up shooting another part of the castle, causing an explosion.
Down below the tower, onlookers and pedestrians looked up to see the bright red flashes within the clouds and could only make out the faint sounds of the fighting. They then began to scream as they were able to see falling debris coming right towards them. They scrambled out of the way as to not get crushed as the rocks came crashing down.
Police vehicles arrived and one of them happened to be Elisa Maza's car. The detective looked up and she was confused on what the situation was.
Back up top at the castle, a wall exploded and four of the gargoyles ran out of it, coughing up from the dust. A soldier ran through the hole after them, but he wasn't chasing after them, he was running from the gargoyle beast as it barked and chased after him. Goliath was about to swoop in and help them, but a soldier from a tower tossed another grenade. Goliath didn't have enough time to dodge fully as he was tossed off the side of the building.
Goliath wasn't able to stabilize himself as he was falling too fast. He tried to grab a flag post from the side of the building, but the moment he grabbed it, it snapped off. He then reached out and plunged his claws into the side of the building, which halted his fall. He breathed sigh of relief as he then started to climb back up.
Meanwhile, back on ground level, everyone continued to scream as more debris started to fall down. Some rocks nearly hit Elisa, but she managed to jump out of the way.
She knelt down beside one of the rocks and turned to some pedestrians. "Get back!" She exclaimed as they ran off. "If you don't want to end up street pizza." Elisa then glanced at the rock and silently gasped at what she saw. It looked like scratch marks imbedded into the stone. "Claw marks?" Elisa questioned as she looked up towards the top. 'What could be strong enough to leave claw marks on solid stone?' It was then that she saw a blue streak make its way towards the top. 'Blue Beetle?'
Back inside the castle, one of the soldiers ran down the hall and made his way to a locked door. Seeing the key pad to unlock it, he placed a device on it then turned it on. The key pad began to red to heat and then exploded, causing the door to open and the soldier ran inside.
Back outside, the green gargoyle jumped to avoid an explosion and landed right on top of a soldier, but he managed to role right on top of him and pin the small gargoyle down.
"Gotcha!" The soldier said as he tried to reach for his knife.
It was at that moment when Blue Beetle came flying and saw that soldier holding someone down, though he couldn't see who.
"Back off!" Beetle exclaimed as he fired his sonic cannon and knocked the soldier off of the one he was attacking. Blue Beetle landed down and approached. "Hey, you alright?" Beetle asked, but then gasped when he finally got a good look on who, or what, he saved.
"Yeah, thanks." The green gargoyle said gratefully before pausing and looked at the hero in surprise. "What are you?"
"What am I? What the heck are you?!" Blue Beetle exclaimed in shock.
It was at that moment when Goliath climbed back up and saw Blue Beetle, and saw the sonic weapon on his arm. Thinking that he was another intruder and was attacking his fellow clan member, Goliath roared and charged right at him. Beetle looked at Goliath in shock, which left him open to get tackled and crashed into the castle grounds. Goliath picked him up and tossed him to the side, but Beetle deployed his wings and he floated above the ground, shocking Goliath.
'What manner of creature is this?' Goliath thought.
"Scarab, what am I looking at?" Blue Beetle asked.
"The creature is humanoid by nature, but the physical difference in anatomy may lead to the conclusion of another species in general."
"Well, whatever it is, it doesn't look friendly." Beetle said as he charged at Goliath.
Beetle landed on the ground and made to punch him, but Goliath caught his fist. Goliath squeezed his fist, causing Beetle to wince in pain, before tossing him into a wall. Beetle groaned before deploying his photon cannon and shot a laser bolt at Goliath, causing him to crash into the wall on the other end. Goliath instantly got back up and roared at Beetle with his eyes glowing white.
"Well that didn't work." Beetle muttered.
"The creature is physically stronger than the average human. You need to increase the damage percentage of the cannon to successfully instill damage."
"Okay, only a small percentage. I may not know what this thing is, but I still don't want to kill it." Beetle said as he fired his photon cannon again.
Goliath dodged each of the shots as he made his way to Blue Beetle and then tackled him to the wall, causing it to crack. Beetle then kicked him off with a great amount of effort and changed both his arms to maces, following it up with a hit to Goliath, causing him to step back in pain before. Beetle then did a double uppercut with his mace hands and sent Goliath back a few feet.
The elder gargoyle saw his leader in trouble and roared in fury. He charged at Beetle, who was shocked by the new appearance that he changed one of his arms into a blade and blocked the strike.
"What sorcery is this?" The elder gargoyle asked in surprise at Beetle's arm changing into a weapon.
"Not sorcery, ingenuity." Blue Beetle said as his other arm transformed to his sonic cannon.
He tried to aim it at the gargoyle, but the elder managed to hold it back before he could fire and move it put of the way. Blue Beetle tried to overpower this creature, but despite the elder gargoyle's age he was still physically stronger than him.
Goliath got back up and tackled Blue Beetle out of the lock and pinned him to the ground. Goliath raised his claws and was about to finish him off, but the green gargoyle stopped him.
"Goliath, wait!" The green gargoyle exclaimed, halting Goliath's movement. "I don't think he's with the enemy. He saved me."
"Yeah, I'm one of the good guy's here!" Blue Beetle exclaimed.
Goliath continued to stare down at the hero, but before anything else could be said one of the soldiers tossed a gas grenade, causing the gargoyles to start coughing. Goliath let go of Blue Beetle who at first was confused on why the gas wasn't affecting him, but then chalked it up to his armor filtering the gas.
One of the soldiers that infiltrated the castle ran back out with a briefcase on his hands. "Got it!"
One of the soldiers shot out a flare gun to signal the chopper which came flying by and landed in the castle courtyard. Goliath tried to stop them, but the gas seemed to momentarily weaken him.
"Let's go! We got what we came for!" The soldier exclaimed as everyone one of his men piled on to the chopper, ready to take off.
Xanatos was on the upper level and raised his laser rifle. "I don't think so."
The soldier saw him just in time to throw a knife, knocking the weapon out of his hands. The chopper then took off with the others watching it leave. Blue Beetle may have not known what was going on, but from what he could tell so far, it seems these creatures were just defending themselves from those guys. With that in mind, Beetle deployed his wings and rocket boosters and flew straight towards the chopper.
"We've got incoming!" One of the soldiers exclaimed from the seats.
"I've got this." The lead soldier said as he brought out a bazooka.
He aimed it right at the hero and fired, sending the rocket flying right towards the hero. Blue Beetle saw it coming in fast and deployed his shield. When the missile impacted it caused an explosion that sent Blue Beetle flying down and crashing right into the castle grounds, leaving the castle behind.
Beetle got up with a groan. "Okay...that hurt."
Beetle was about to get back up, but stopped when the gargoyle beast slowly approached him and started growling at him, with the red and teal gargoyles flanking him.
Blue Beetle was about to deploy another of his weapons to defend himself, but Xanatos stood between them. "Wait, stop! It's alright, this man is not an enemy." Xanatos said before turning to Blue Beetle. "And they're not a threat. They're just trying to defend themselves."
The green one came by and offered a hand to the blue hero. "He's right. We're not gonna hurt you."
"Yeah, then how come that one looks like he wants to eat me?" Beetle said as he eyed the beast who was licking his chops.
"Don't worry, he's not going to eat you." The green gargoyle said.
"Unless we tell him to." The red one muttered, which caused the teal gargoyle to chuckle.
Seeing as how they weren't going to harm him, Beetle accepted the hand the green gargoyle offered and picked himself up. "Okay, so then what are you guys?"
"We are gargoyles." Goliath answered.
"Okay...that doesn't really help much." Blue Beetle said.
"Oh yeah, and what are you supposed to be?" The teal gargoyle asked.
"I'm Blue Beetle." The hero answered.
"But...you don't look anything like a bug?" The tael gargoyle said in confusion.
"Not to mention the weapons you used along with those guys back there, I've never seen anything like it." The red one said. "And that flying creature that carried them off."
"A dragon, no doubt." The elderly gargoyle said.
"It wasn't a dragon. It was...uh...machine of some sort." The green one said.
"It was a helicopter." Blue Beetle said.
"Thank you, all of you." Xanatos said as he turned to the hero then to the gargoyles. "Without you and your friends who knows what those thugs might have done."
"Someone I once trusted said the same thing to me." Goliath said as he glared at Xanatos. "And then destroyed my people."
This statement caused Xanatos to frown. "Hmm, I can see I'm going to have to work hard to earn your trust." Xanatos said before dialing his phone. "Owen, were going to need a cleanup crew outside."
"Why were you attacked?" Goliath asked.
"The richer you are the more enemies you have." Xanatos said with a smirk. "And I'm very rich."
"Look, I'm usually very quick to be on the up-and-up, but can someone please tell me what the heck is going on." Beetle said as he was trying to wrap his head on what he just gotten himself into.
All of the gargoyles looked towards Goliath as he stared at Blue Beetle for moment, before taking a deep breath. "Our story is linked to the very castle you walk on. It dates back over a thousand years ago..."
So Goliath told the hero his clan's tale, how they protected this castle and the people who lived in it over a thousand years ago from invaders, while the humans would protect them in return during the day where they turn to stone to sleep. One night a raid from Vikings, led by one named Hakon, attacked the castle, and though they drove them away, Goliath and the elder gargoyle left to finish the job, but they were too late, they had already left for another attack on the castle. They tried to get back, but the sun rose up and they turned to stone.
On that following night, they returned to find the castle had already been invaded, and the rest of the clan had been shattered when they were stone, with the only survivors being the ones that stood before the hero. When they went after the Vikings to save the people, Princess Katherine, and get their revenge, Goliath discovered that his human friend, the captain of the guard, sabotaged the castle defenses and betrayed their clan to the vikings. They both fell to their deaths, but when Goliath returned to rendezvous with his clan, he discovered that the Magus cast a spell to turn them to stone forever.
The magus said he was overcome with grief due to believing the Princess was dead, but he regretted his decision when he saw the Princess was alive because Goliath rescued her. Goliath returned his stone friends to the castle and asked the Magus to cast the spell on him, so that way he can remain with his clan. Xanatos then took over and explained how he broke the spell to release them.
When the story was finished, Blue Beetle looked at each of them with sympathy. "I'm so sorry, I can't imagine what that must feel like. To lose your entire family, and your home."
"Thank you, lad, but although our clan may have been lowered, we still have each other." The elder gargoyle said as he placed his hands on the red and teal gargoyles. "And we still have our home."
"That's right, you still have your home." Xanatos said as he stepped forward. "This is also my headquarters, Goliath, and I hope you'll consider working with me to keep it safe."
Goliath looked around the castle, and although this looks exactly like how he remembered it, he and his clan were still in an unfamiliar place and in a different timeline altogether.
"It's your decision, lad, but...we've nowhere else to go." The elder gargoyle said as he placed a hand on his leader's shoulder.
Goliath took a deep breath before answering. "This castle is our home, no matter where it has been taken. We will stay here."
"Excellent." Xanatos said as he shook Goliath's hand. "I know you've been used poorly by men in the past, but all that is about to change. Trust me."
"You broke the spell of sleep that imprisoned us, Xanatos, and for that we are grateful." Goliath said before glaring at him. "But we will never trust humans again."
"I can tell this relationship...is something we'll all have to work at." Xanatos said before turning to the resident hero. "I would also like to offer you a chance to help us, Blue Beetle. I know your duty is to this city and it's people are counting on you, but I would also like to count on you as well. Men like those may come and attack us again."
Beetle looked down in thought for a while before answering. "I'll admit, this all hard for me to digest. I mean gargoyles and magic spells; I'm surprised I haven't gone insane yet." Beetle said before looking at them. "But you guys won't have to worry about being alone in this. I'll help you in any way I can."
"Splendid." Xanatos said as he and Beetle shook hands. "Blue Beetle, I believe this may be the start of a beautiful friendship."
/
Back on the ground, the police finally set up a perimeter to avoid any people from getting closer. The flashes stopped and the debris have stopped falling, though Elisa still stared up at the top, her mind racing on what could have happened up there.
"What do you figure that was all about, detective?" Officer Morgan asked.
"I don't know, but I'm going to find out." Elisa said strongly as she continued to stare at the tower.
/
And there we have it, we are officially in the Gargoyles cannon.
This chapter mostly just talks about the second half of episode 2, cause I really wanted to focus on Blue Beetle interacting with the gargoyles. So anytime there's anything that has do with a flashback I am mostly going to skip it.
P.S. Does anyone else get goosebumps whenever Goliath does his roar after he wakes up in this episode. That entire scene of them waking up after a thousand years still gives me chills.
Stay safe, and I'll see you all next time!
