Clint Fincham is not a mutant per say but is considered freaky enough to end up in a hospital full of them. He has no memory of how he got there or what happened to him but with the help of an unexpected ally and some new friends together they will embark on a journey where they will find new challanges, form bonds, and face their greatest fears, and do whatever it takes to survive

12. Chapter 12

It's nighttime now outside while inside Clint now dressed in a light grey sweatshirt and jeans that he picked out himself after taking a shower to wash the blood off from the incident that happened earlier. That moment still haunted him but right now his main focus was going to see Rahne who was in a small room on the side from the infirmary in her oversized yellow striped sweatshirt holding an ice pack to the side of her neck still feeling raw but the pain was less from what she felt before.

Clint came around the corner and found her sitting against the wall they locked eyes for a moment Clint tore his eyes away and looked down at the ground for a moment unable to look at her like this.

There was a small part of him that felt responsible for what happened to Rahne that he should've been there for her to, protect her and maybe she would've been safe.

Rahne looks at Clint wearily still holding the ice pack again her now branded neck. Clint finally managed to bring his gaze back up to hers hesitantly.

"Hey!" Clint waves at her quickly.

"Hey!" Rahne replies back waving with her unoccupied hand.

Clint takes a moment to gather himself before asking the question that's been bugging him, "How's the pain?" He asks worriedly for her well-being.

"The drugs are helping." Rahne responds casually as if it were nothing.

Clint takes a breath, "So was it really him? The Priest?" He asks cautiously trying not to overstep.

Rahne just shrugs, "If he wasn't real he could've fooled me." She says taking the ice pack off of her neck for a moment setting it down beside her. She watches Clint seeing that he's scared to come in closer to her.

Rahne let's out a deep sigh, "Why won't you come in?" She asks.

Clint doesn't answer, "I'm not afraid of you, I'm afraid of what I saw, of him." Rahne says.

Still he cautiously walks into the room and out of the doorway towards her keeping his gaze to the ground not willing to look her in the eye as the shame comes off of him in waves.

"It's not that." Clint corrects.

"Then what is it, what's eating at you?" Rahne pleads him softly.

Clint stops a few feet away from her dangling legs and feet over the edge.

Clint let's out an uneasy sigh, "I can't help but think that if I was there with you, you never would've been hurt you wouldn't be in pain, I know we haven't really figured out where we are right now with what's going on between us but somehow I feel like I failed you by not being there for you when you needed me the most!" Clint admits guilt pouring out of him still refusing to look at her.

Rahne couldn't help but smile at him about how much he cared for her, she brings her left hand under his chin lifting his head up to meet her gaze guilt clear on his features.

Clint is surprised to see her smiling so sweetly at him. "I don't blame you Clint please don't beat yourself up for something you couldn't have possibly known was happening, it's not your fault!" Rahne says soothingly moving her hand from his chin to stroke his cheek.

Clint gives her a soft and warm smile putting his hand over hers removing it from his face to hold in his. "Well you've convinced me that what happened today wasn't my fault, but what I saw today was my fault!" He says.

Rahne has a look that is both shocked and curious, "What do you mean?" She asks.

Clint sighs looking away for a moment before looking back to her, "Whatever it was that happened today I saw my mom in the infirmary exactly like she was right before the moment she died and I got to replay it all over again, but with one small difference this time she came back to life like a zombie calling me a murderer and a monster telling me that I'm not her son not anymore and then swam in a bloodbath of fresh body parts of the goons I killed….You know I always thought my biggest fear was losing my mom but now I realize that my biggest fear is being shunned, disowned, and unloved if she was still here and knew what I did…what I've done. I'm afraid that she'd look at me like a monster and that I'll be alone forever!" Clint explains throughly his voice breaking as tears threaten to fall from his eyes.

Rahne's heart goes out to him leaning forward giving his hand a reassuring squeeze that he's not alone. He basks in her warmth and comfort radiating from her body.

"I know that you are a good person Clint and if your mum could see what you did and not feel the same about her own son then she's not your mother!" Rahne offers.

"Thank you Rahne!" Clint whispers softly leaning in for a warm hug wrapping his arms around her, Rahne returns the gesture before breaking apart.

They both hear someone over by the doorway they look to see Dani standing there looking anxious, and guilt tripped.

"Sorry am I….uh interrupting anything?" She asks clearly noticing the chemistry that was happening between them before she got here.

Rahne and Clint both shake their heads 'no'. They both notice that Dani is also hesitant to come in.

"I just wanted to apologize to both of you for what happened today, I mean what if I really am the one making these things happen?" Dani says entering the room walking up to them.

"It's not like you really had a say in the matter." Clint says making sure she know he doesn't have any beef with her.

"You had you choice Dani it's not your fault." Rahne adds on.

Dani gave Rahne and Clint a thankful expression but it quickly faded away and now looked very worried. The others caught on quickly to the sudden change.

"What is it?" Clint asks once again concerned.

Dani looked back and forth between him and Rahne very hesitant to spill the beans about what happened to her earlier.

She opened her mouth to speak but no words came out, but she tried again this time she was more successful, "I….I saw something when Dr. Reyes was testing me earlier today, I saw kids like us mutants being forced to do things…horrible things, and it's just after everything all of us have been through it makes me start to think…" Dani trailed off looking away for a moment going silent.

Clint put a hand on Dani's shoulder trying to get her train of thought back on the right track. "What? Makes you think what?" He asks quietly but with a little anxiety in his tone.

Dani looks up at him and then to Rahne who gave her a matching look.

Dani leans forward to Rahne, "I don't think this is a hospital!" She whispers for both of them to hear.

Clint and Rahne look at each other both of them more on edge now.

Clint brings a hand to his forehead shaking his head a few times out of confusion. "What are you talking about Dani?" He asks more anxiously this time but still quite enough for only the three of them to hear and of course Venom who chose to remain silent.

Dani looked to Clint trying to explain more throughly, "What I mean is the place that I saw, the place that Dr. Reyes keeps talking about, I think that's where we go when we leave…if we leave." She explains.

IF!….what does she mean, if we leave? Venom shouted out mentally in disbelief and maybe a little fear possibly at the very thought of never being able to leave this place.

Clint grabbed his head at the sudden outburst. Both of the girls noticed this turning their heads to Clint both of them looking concerned.

"What is it Clint?" Rahne asks.

Clint shuts his eyes for a moment letting out a suppressed grunt even though Venom had yelled a lot in his head for a while still Clint would never get use to the slight pinch of pain in his head at the unexpected loudness from Venom.

Clint opens his eyes again to look at the two girls waving them off with his hand. "It's nothing I just felt a twitch that's all." Clint reassures them hoping they'd buy it.

Luckily they did for the moment anyways. Suddenly Dr. Reyes stepped into the side door from the infirmary eyeing her three patients. The. Looking to the young Native American.

"I'm ready for you, Dani!" Dr. Reyes says to the dark haired girl before waking back into the infirmary.

The three three young adults look back at each other Clint and Rahne now worried about leaving Dani.

Rahne reaches out to grab Dani's hand pulling her back slightly, "Wait!" She says Dani just shakes her head.

"I have to go you guys!" Dani implies regretfully.

"What if you're right? Are you just gonna let her pump you full of drugs again?" Rahne asks worriedly.

Clint nods agreeing with Rahne. "Even I have to admit she's right about that I mean what good is it gonna do if Reyes gets you high?"

"Last time, I saw things, secrets maybe I will again maybe those secrets will help us find a way out of here." Dani argues strongly.

"How?" Rahne asks quietly.

Dani shakes her head, "I don't know yet, but you guys have to trust me please!" Dani urges looking to Rahne and Clint who both share a look before nodding back to her. Dani turns and slowing walks over into the infirmary.

Clint walks back in front of Rahne where Dani had just been. "She could be right and she could be wrong or she could be just plain crazy from whatever Reyes put her on earlier, but if she can actually find a way to get us out of here I'm willing to take a chance." Clint tells Rahne who looks nervous about letting Dani go through with this.

Clint takes Rahne's hands into his giving them a reassuring squeeze.

Clint looked into her green eyes and smiles sweetly at her, "I thought you were a woman of faith, remember?" Clint asks giving a obvious sarcastic look to tell her he's joking.

Rahne slightly rolled her eyes at that comment. "I am Clint but what if this doesn't work I mean what if Dani loses control again you saw what she can do already my neck is a clear example of that!" Rahne says turning her head slightly to sow the fresh red branded skin.

Wow, that looks painful I could make that go away in a second if that happened to you Clint! Venom commented.

Clint however stuck with the part where Venom said that he could heal the scar on himself and then did one better.

Rahne noticed Clint look to the side and slightly at the ground taking his hands out of Rahne's and walked a few steps back.

"Wait a minute, I remembered that you can obviously heal me and my wrist is proof of that, but can you heal her neck?" Clint asks aimlessly pointing at Rahne who is now completely confused as to who Clint is talking to, she'd only ever seen this happen with Illyana but at least she was talking to a puppet instead of empty air.

I have never tried it before on someone I'm not bonded to but as long as you maintain physical contact I can give it a shot! Venom replied sounding unsure as if he was grasping at straws.

Clint looked back to Rahne who looked at him carefully as if he was…crazy to say the least but she was too nice to ever admit it out loud to Clint.

He walks right back up to her putting his right hand up to her neck but stops and looks at her slightly out of the loop and scared as to what he is doing. Clint noticed this, "Do you trust me?" He asks softly.

Rahne can tell he's serious after a moment she nods, "Yes!"

Clint moves in and puts his hand right over the sensitive flesh of the freshly burned flesh earning a small jump from Rahne.

Clint then sees a small black substance covering his entire hand now grasping onto the edges of Rahne's neck.

Rahne is just sitting there as Clint is doing something to her newly branded neck. Suddenly she feels a nice cool feeling on the side of her neck not like the ice pack this was way better as if something was supercooling the skin on the left side of her neck. Rahne automatically closed her eyes tilting her head back letting out a deep sigh of pleasure and relief feeling the searing pain on her neck fade away completely.

Clint couldn't help but crack a smile at the look on Rahne face that was clearly telling him how much she was enjoying this.

Looking back at his hand he saw the back mass of a hand revert back to his normal sized one with the back recoiling beneath his skin.

Clint slowly removed his hand from Rahne's neck his eyes went wide in shock at seeing the branded 'M' gone and her pale skin and flesh completely healed.

Clint back up a few steps still with his shocked look on his face.

Not bad, Huh! Venom smugly commented.

Clint just nodded, "Not bad at all!" He agreed.

Rahne put her left hand on the side of her neck and felt the brand was gone completely gone realizing Clint had just healed her somehow. Her own eyes went wide as well at the realization.

Rahne regained enough composure to just stare at Clint, "You healed my neck!" Rahne blankly stated.

"Yeah I guess I did!" Clint said finally snapping him out of his trance and nervously scratched the back of his head walking back over to her.

"H-How did you do that?" She asks obliviously.

Clint just shakes his head, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you, trust me on that!" Clint chuckles.

Rahne looks down for a moment then right back up at him smiling, "Thank you so much Clint!"

"Your Welcome!" He says back.

They are brought out of their little moment hearing a cart in the other room.

Clint walks up to Rahne again, "Listen whatever happens we're gonna face it together okay!"

"Okay! I just don't want to end up in another Hell!" Rahne said sadly.

"Then let's go find your Heaven, Rahne Sinclair!" Clint says confidently and happily repeating the very words she said to him when he first came here.

Hearing that brings a very joyful smile to Rahne's face. Clint and Rahne then lean in for a sweet kiss that both of them enjoy immensely before breaking apart.

They both head over to the doorway to the infirmary where they find Dani who is now sitting on a hospital bed with rollers and Dr. Reyes right next to her with her clipboard in hand.

Rahne walked up stopping in her tracks, "Dani wanted us to stay with her." She said plainly causing Dr. Reyes to look up from her clipboard with a stern look on her face.

"I need you both to wait outside, please!" Dr. Reyes responses.

Clint didn't like this at all standing behind Rahne putting his right arm up against the doorframe leaning on it.

"I know, but…" Rahne tried to argue but was cut off quickly by Dr. Reyes, "You can come back for recovery later!" She insisted.

A moment of silence passed by as the room went quiet Rahne and Clint both eyeing Dr. Reyes and Dani who nodded to both of them from behind the doctor as if she was telling them to go.

With that both Clint and Rahne turned and went out of the infirmary. While behind Dr. Reyes lifted up the side rail on the hospital bed. She walked over to the counter setting the clipboard down then walks back to the rolling hospital bed at the end.

"I need you to lay down Dani, flat on your back please!" Dr. Reyes instructs.

Dani sits there for a moment but eventually does as she's told and slowly yet hesitantly lays down flat.

Dr. Reyes starts pushing the bed going along the long line of other empty hospital beds until they reach a set of doors at the end of the room.

"Doors. Hallway H." Dr. Reyes says aimlessly. Turning the bed sideways. With a click the doors open automatically Reyes pushes the bed along with Dani's eyes roaming over the hallway which to be honest Dani doesn't think she's familiar with to be honest.

The lights in this hallway begin to flicker more as she pushes along then she turns right at another set of doors.

"Doors. Examination Room." Dr. Reyes says and the doors open and then Dani notices this place looks like at best with the limited light in the room almost like a mouths with several body slabs off to her right. Dr. Reyes brings the bed to a stop.

Dani slowly and cautiously sits up a bit of fear breaking through the young Native American's features as she watches Dr. Reyes prepping the examination table right next to her.

"Come over here Dani and lay down with your arms out please." Dr. Reyes requests flatly.

Dani hops off the bed and slowly makes her way over to the table and does as she's told. Although inside Dani's heart is pounding like a wild drum as the fear continues to break through.

Back in the main hallway Clint and Rahne are walking side by side to the common room to relax for a bit with the others. Although after both of them were filled in by Dani about what really is going on in the basement if you get what they mean. They were on edge at the moment.

Clint was in deep thought about everything that had just transpired since his arrival. Honestly he literally as this tempted to let Venom loose and eat Dr. Reyes if she tried to go all Hannibal Lecter on his…oh sorry…their ass!

Rahne looked up to Clint as they continued walking together and noticed how zoned out he seemed to be. "What's on yer mind?" Rahne said with her thick Scottish accent.

Clint looked at the redhead sternly for a moment, "I was just thinking Dani is right that this whole thing and plus I could tell from the way that Reyes reacted when you told her we wanted to stay." Clint explains.

Rahne looks curious at this, "What do you mean by that?" She asks.

Clint sighs, "Two reasons that Reyes was off and is hiding something from us, the first being is that she told you that you could come back for recovery later!"

Rahne gives another confused look, "So?" She asks, causing Clint to roll his eyes.

"So! She didn't even notice that I healed your neck and yet you were right in front of her and a doctor couldn't even tell that!" Clint explained more throughly this time.

Rahne nodded starting to catch on, well that's true even she would admit after something as amazing as healing a freshly branded and scarred neck there would be more of a reaction especially coming from a doctor of all people. "Then what's the other reason?" She asks.

Clint just looks at Rahne solemnly, "Second is because she is just naturally a lying bitch since she first came here that's why!"

They both made their way into the common room where Illyana and Sam were. Sam was sitting on the far right end of the couch looking at the old fashioned square TV watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Illyana was sitting facing him on the small table in front drawing pictures.

Clint and Rahne both proceed to sit down Rahne plants herself on the far left end of the couch by Sam while Clint takes a seat in a empty chair to the right of Illyana facing away from the TV and puts his feet up on the small table just far enough away for Illyana not being able to complain that is.

Sam can tell immediately that Rahne is processing something in her head at the moment. "Hey. What's up with you?" He asks.

Rahne turns to face him but no words manage to make their way out of her mouth..at first that is. "Nothing. It's just Clint and I think that…well, Reyes was…." She stops her train of thought coming to a halt while her highly sensitive ears pick up what almost sounds like music coming from down the hall. She turns her gaze away from Sam and towards the door.

"You guys hear that?" Rahne asks the others. Clint, Sam, and Illyana all go quiet as they soon pick up the music slowly playing off in the distance.

Clint sits up, "Yeah I hear it all right." He comments.

Sam adjusts his cap, "Is that music?" He asks openly.

Meanwhile the look on Illyana's face turns more pale she drops her crayon grabbing Lockheed standing up putting the purple puppet in her back pocket.

"I know that song!" Illyana calmly states beginning to walk out of the room turning down the hall Clint jumps up from his seat and follows in tow as Rahne and Sam jump over the couch following behind him.

In the morgue Dr. Reyes now has Dani hooked up and is drawing more blood before the next test.

Dani looks up at the doctor, "What are we testing this time?" She asks softly barely above a whisper.

Dr. Reyes doesn't look at the girl, "This is more a test of me, I told you my mother was a vet, right?" Dr. Reyes asks Dani who nods once.

"One day our family dog went feral and mauled the neighbors boy!" Dr. Reyes told her moving around behind Dani grabbing a masked tube. "Lift you head, down." Dr. Reyes asked and Dani tilted her head up a bit allowing the doctor to slip the mask over her face before putting her head back down. "It was rabies." She comments while Dani's breathing starts to pick up slowly beginning to hyperventilate.

Illyana kept walking down the hall with Clint, Sam, and Rahne following behind. With each step the music grew louder and louder it sounded almost like a Russian woman at least Clint could tell by the vocals and the slight accent.

"It's coming from my room." Illyana notes as they all near the room itself. What happens next starts sending chills up everyone's spines. The door dissolves turning black and semi-metallic until the door is completely changed.

Rahne's eyes widened backing up a few steps, "I'm going to get Dr. Reyes." She says turning and taking off down the hall.

Clint watches her go before he turns his attention back to the door and notices Illyana moving towards the handle to open it.

"Illyana Don't!" Sam warned putting a hand out.

But it's too late as she turns the knob and the door creeks open to reveal a little prison cell looking room. Clint could tell it wasn't quite like solitary still it had bars on the windows and locks on the doors, but it was more homie with a bed and a lamp on a small dresser and a little girl with blonde hair lying in bed with a dragon looking puppet that looked very similar to the one Illyana carries, Lockheed.

Illyana's face turns into the kind only shown in horror films as if she was just about to be a victim of something. She starts to freak out as both Clint and Sam can literally hear her breathing going up and down like a fucking roller coaster.

Sam looked spooked for the most part, "What the hell is this place?" He asks.

Clint remains silent and just observes as the little girl in the bed throws the blanket over her head hiding under it.

Illyana on the other hand was beginning to become more erratic, with fear corrupting her features. "No! No, I buried this it's not possible!" Illyana says more to herself rather than the two boys.

The three young adults then notice a man dressed in a slick black silk suit and pants and a tattoo of some kind on his hands and the back of his neck. He was wearing some kind of white smiley face mask, the figure bent down to the little girl still hiding herself under the covers.

Illyana's mouth drops open at the sight of the man terror has completely overwhelmed her entire being.

The man slowly reaches a hand out for the blanket and the little girl but in a quick flash of blue light from beneath the covers the body outline of the girl suddenly disappears and the blanket falls to the bed lifelessly. The man starts to move his hands to where the girl use to be patting the bed and Clint couldn't be sure but it sounded almost like the man was….growling?

Illyana on the other hand had seen enough, "Stay away from her, you pig!!" She yells out anger and fright both laced into her voice.

This grabs the attention of the man who turns to the other three behind him in one swift motion he yanks the mask off his….face!!

Clint expression turns to one of complete and utter disgust as the man, if you'd even consider calling it that anymore revealed a bald eyeless distorted looking face that one could mistake for slender man. The figure then let out a bloodcurdling roar revealing his teeth to be a set of individual fangs with half an inch in between each other.

WOWZA!!! Now that's a face only a mother could love if it has one that is? Venom quickly notes inside Clint's head.

That does it for Illyana letting out a scream that could send a chill up your spine, she is grabbed from behind by Sam who drags her out of the room and into the hallway and Clint follows staying to the right of Illyana and Sam.

"Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!" Sam tells Illyana who begins to cry. "Run! run, run, run!" Illyana cries out as tears begin to stream down her face, and Sam grabbing a hold of her shoulders in an attempt to steady her. "Look. Look at me." He says. This gets blonde to finally look at him.

"Listen to me. He cannot hurt you." Sam tells the ruskie.

Clint gives Sam a skeptical look. "He? Are you fucking shitting me right now hayseed, that's not a he that's more like an 'it'!" Adding a slight scoff in the end.

The figure stands up showing it's fanged teeth off towering over the others as it stops in the doorway.

Sam puts Illyana behind himself shielding her eyeing the creature which is kinda impossible since it doesn't have any eyes. "Look, see? He's not real. All right?" He claims. Although on the inside every fiber of Sam is telling him he's wrong and to start booking it.

Clint rolls his eyes slowing shifting away from the others in the opposite direction. "Ya sure about that because it looks pretty real to me!" Clint argues.

The creature puts it's hands on the edges of the doorway and then steps out into the hallways letting out another roar at Illyana and Sam.

Off to the side Clint nods quickly to himself, "Yeah that's definitely real."

Sam and Illyana are backed up to the wall, "Go, Run!!" Sam yells out to the others.

Sam and Illyana turn on their heels down the hall as Clint bolts in the other direction. The Smiley man tries to swipe at Illyana and Sam nearly missing them.

"Run!" Sam as they both continue trying to get away from the creature.

Back in the morgue Dani is still strapped to the table while Dr. Reyes is off to the side continuing to tell Dani about her current story. Only Dani is paying more attention to what Dr. Reyes is doing rather than what she's saying. And what she is currently doing is placing the blood samples taken from Dani in a suitcase.

"My mother tried everything, but it was too far along, I can't tell you how hard it is for a doctor to face that Dani." Dr. Reyes explains.

She sets the suitcase off to the side, while on a separate stretcher Dr. Reyes pulls out a black body bag and starts unfolding it.

"That powerlessness." She adds, unzipping the body bag slowly.

Over on the main table Dani eyes the bag her eyes wide as saucers her breathing becoming very erratic and hard. Fear is plastered all over her face.

Dr. Reyes walks back over to her, "You can do your best to save a patient, but sometimes the most humane thing to do, is put it to sleep." With that Dr. Reyes turns on the sleeping gas that starts flowing through the tube to Dani's face. What was small whimpers now became scared screams.

"Help! Help! Help!" Dani desperately calls out to anyone that can possibly hear her as she starts to feel weaker and tired as the effects of the gas begin to kick in.

In the infirmary Rahne comes running in to the empty room stopping her eyes wandering all over only to find no one in the vicinity. Before she can do anything else she hears something echoing through the vents.

"Help me!" A voice faintly calls out.

Rahne swears that it sounds a lot like Dani, using her heightened wolf senses she sniffs the air for a moment. Her green eyes turning to her wolf ones pitch black with those yellow iris'. As her ears begin to change shape growing slightly larger and angular covered completely in red fur with the hairs on her neck beginning to grow out turning into her werewolf form. Sniffing some more and with better hearing she listens intently for anything.

"Help me!" The voice cries out again this time much louder almost as if it was coming from the next room.

For sure now Rahne knew that it was Dani and she was in trouble. She let out a small growl showing her canine fangs heading towards the vents as quick as possible tracing the noise back to its source.

Alone running for the infirmary but still a long way from it Clint is running like is life depending on it. Which it kinda is considering the eyeless freak he just say a minute ago. Taking a turn down the main hall on the second floor Clint stops in his tracks as he sees another one of them blocking his path out of one of the rooms up ahead it snarls at him for a minute. Clint turns and tries to make a break for it the other way only to find another smiley man blocking the exit.

Clint turns his head back and forth between the Smiley men assessing the bad situation he's currently in. Letting out a shuddering breath, "Okay, do you have any ideas?" He asks aimlessly to Venom.

Yes I do just try and work with me Clint! Venom answers mentally.

The smiley men advance on Clint who's still stuck between them, but not for long. Before he knew what's happening two black tendrils fire out of Clint's arms almost like a reflex each tendril wrapping itself around the smiley men's necks then reeling them in like your average fish on a hook. The tendrils stop right in front of Clint the excessive ooze from the tendrils start to slightly reseed but only enough to reveal two massive black muscular arms and hands that have seemed to replace his own. The hands wrap tightly around their necks lifting them off the ground bashing their heads together roughly like you'd see out of a cartoon. Then they are thrown off in opposite directions like they're nothing. The one that was blocking the exit to the left is quickly reeled back in by the tendril on Clint's left arm by the neck again gripping the back of the smiley man's neck forcing him down the creature roaring and attempting to claw at Clint but to no avail. Then the giant black right hand grabs the back of the creatures head aggressively. Suddenly with a effortless tug and pull the smiley man's head is torn off it's body that falls limp and lifeless. Clint looks in shock and with the force of another that being Venom tosses both the body and severed head down the hall. Before Clint can do anything else he hears a growl coming from the other smiley man who is at the other end of the hall he turns his body only this time taking charge Clint takes a deep breath and almost what feels like muscle memory Clint sticks out his left arm and hand firing off a black tendril that hits the creature square in the chest with such a force that sends the smiley man sailing right out the barred window breaking the glass and bending a few of the bars. The tendril retracts back into Clint watching his hand in amazement as the black submerges beneath the skin cloths and flesh.

Clint flexes his hand for a moment letting out a amused chuckle with his face breaking out a small smile.

"Damn! That was awesome!" Clint says both to himself and Venom.

Outstanding! Really bravo Clint…I mean that pale meat sack that I popped the head off that was me, but the other one who couldn't fly out the window was all you! Venom complemented.

Clint still looking at his hand in awe nods in acknowledgment to Venom.

Now let's get their carcasses, sever the rest of their limbs, and have a little victory feast! Venom declares enthusiastically.

This snaps Clint out of his wonder trance. "Why would we do that?" Clint asks obliviously.

Because looks can be deceiving, just because they don't look like much doesn't mean they'll taste like much! Venom answers simply.

Clint just lets a moment of silence pass by before bringing his hand up, "Okay how about we bust outta here first then we eat later okay?" Clint asks.

Venom groans, Fine but if I don't eat soon I'll just mutilate and eat the doctor.

Clint nods, "Well that's what we just might have to do to get out of here." He concurs with Venom, taking off down the hall and for the infirmary.

At the other end of the compound round the corner are Illyana and Sam. They screech to a halt when two smiley men come out of the doors up ahead blocking the hall causing the two teens to back up, they yelp in surprise when another one comes dropping down from the ceiling landing behind them. They turn to meet the creature that slams Sam against the wall next to the emergency fire extinguisher case shattering the glass as his hat goes flying off and hitting the ground. Illyana on the other hand is hoisted up by the smiley man over it's shoulder. Illyana furiously scratches, punches, and kicks at the creature but it doesn't relinquish its hold on her.

"Get off me! Let me go!" Illyana growls out. But the creatures only response is to keep dragging her along the hall.

Sam quickly gathers himself seeing Illyana being forced away desperately trying to grab onto anything she can find even the walls which only succeed in irritating the smiley man.

Sam gets to his feet Smashing the remaining glass from the fire extinguisher container grabbing the extinguisher itself charging at the smiley man hitting it right across the face with the cold metal canister and then again only lower to the gut this time and then delivering an uppercut blow causing it to fall down landing two more brutal and aggressive hits with the extinguisher. Grabbing Illyana hoisting her to her feet the two once again take off to wherever they can go.

Meanwhile in the cafeteria wearing an apron and yellow rubber gloves is Roberto listening to some music with his beats while washing the dishes since it is his shift this time. Unaware of what is going on a slight reflection goes off in the silver metal of the furniture. Silently a pair of pale almost fleshless hands latch onto the Brazilian boy's shoulders causing him to look up to see in the reflection is what can only be described as a monster with sharp teeth letting out a roar. Roberto response back with a surprised yell yanking his beats off turning to face the creature his eyes turn completely orange With a bit of black surrounding the edges which his hands turn into a mix of black and orange sending off a solar blast hitting the smiley man right in the chest with a bit of a scorch mark on it flying off right into the middle of a table breaking it in half and knocking a few chairs away as well but the creature itself was now dead.

After waiting a minute Roberto is certain that the monster is dead. Lowering his hands back to his sides as the black charred skin returns to it's normal color as do his eyes.

In the morgue Dani is now rendered completely unconscious by the gas, but a small part of her is fighting to hold on…barely.

"You're the most powerful mutant we've ever had, but unfortunately my superiors believe that your powers cannot be controlled." Dr. Reyes says carelessly, injecting a small syringe of death serum into Dani's IV bag that begins to turn green then pulling the syringe out.

Dr. Reyes strokes the Native American girl's hair back, "It's almost over, Dani." She says to the poor girl.

The sound of clanging in the vent above grabs Dr. Reyes' attention as her expression turns to one of curiously as she scrunches her eyebrows together looking at the vent space. Up from above the vent door flies open revealing a very pissed off looking Rahne in her werewolf form angrily eyeing Dr. Reyes giving a wolf growl before dropping down right on top of Dr. Reyes' shoulders. Rahne using her now sharp clawed hands she begins tearing at Dr. Reyes her face, her body, anywhere and everywhere like your average wolf attacking it's natural prey. Rahne tears at the woman's body drawing blood and flesh receiving pained yells from Dr. Reyes, but quickly grabs a scalpel on a nearby tray stabbing Rahne in her upper left leg. Rahne gives out a pained scream causing her to cease her attack giving Reyes the advantage throwing Rahne off her shoulder rolling to the ground.

Gripping her bleeding face letting out small groans attempting to fight off the pain pounding all over her body Dr. Reyes snatches the briefcase with the DNA samples. But in the process the black and silver diamond emblem falls off her lab coat to the floor. Dr. Reyes limps out of the morgue but stops for a moment, "Doors, Morgue lock!" She says aimlessly. With that the steel doors that were open automatically shut initiating the locking mechanisms trapping Rahne and Dani…if she's still alive inside before continuing to limp down the hall.

Back inside the morgue Rahne groans squeezing her eyes shut fighting through the pain emanating from her upper left leg almost near her thigh pulling the scalpel out and tossing it aside drawing a bit of blood out of her wound sinking into her pants. But Rahne had no time to think about that now as she stood up making her way over to day on the table with the headlamp still shining over the girl's body.

"Dani?" Rahne calls out to the still unconscious Native American scared that she may actually be dead and that she was too late to save her.

Rahne quickly pulls the needle and IV tube out of Dani's arm then proceeds to unlatch the mask on her face.

Breathing heavily from the entanglement with Dr. Reyes and from natural fear Rahne takes the girl's face into her clawed hands being careful not to accidentally scratch her.

"Dani? Dani, wake up." Rahne says softly almost pleading.

A few small blinks later Dani's eyelids slowly open to reveal her soft brown eyes looking right at Rahne who she notices is looking like she's half an animal right now staring back at her.

Rahne let's put a happy sigh of relief as she begins to undo the restraints on Dani's arms and legs. While at the same time the hairs on Rahne's neck and her claws both reseed beneath her skin as she reverts back to her human form.

"You're gonna be okay Dani I'm gonna get you out of here!" Rahne reassures her.

Dani slowly sits up Rahne helping her. She regains enough composure to gather her thoughts again.

"She tried to kill me?" Dani says more to herself than to Rahne who still answers anyway, "I know, but why?" Rahne asks her tone giving off that there was something she was clearly missing.

Luckily Dani fills in the blank, "She said that that I'm too powerful that my mutation can't be controlled, so her superiors ordered her to kill me!" Dani explains croaking out a bit at the end afraid that she actually was going to die.

Rahne takes Dani's hand in her own giving a reassuring squeeze looking her in the eye. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you Dani we're going to get out of here together, I promise!" She says confidently. This earns a smile from Dani.

Clint finally makes his way into the infirmary to find it empty, "Hello! Dr. Reyes, Dani, Rahne!" He calls out but there is no response. He brings his arms up letting them fall back to his sides out of frustration. He turns around to leave but stops at the sound of what seems like banging.

Clint looks to the left to the pair of double doors that he hasn't seen opened yet and walks over and puts his ear up to the cold metal and can hear more banging from the other side.

Clint takes a few steps back concentrating the black substance engulfs his entire left leg that becomes almost a solid mass with a few small white veins and kicks the doors opened with a loud slam. His leg reverts back the substance subsiding. He runs down the hall and stops to hear the source of the banging to find another pair of steel doors these ones looking a lot tougher Clint notices even the lock looks more advanced.

"Hello who is it?" He asks hoping whoever it was heard him.

"Clint we're Dr. Reyes trapped us in here we can't get out!" The voice of his crush and current romantic interest, Rahne responds.

"Rahne you and Dani get away from the doors!" Clint warns them. On the other side Dani and Rahne do as their told and go off to the right against the wall.

Clint focuses as his entire left arm becomes black and bulking and clenches his fist delivering a powerful punch at the pair of steel doors that blows them right off their hinges and across the room leaving a small dent imprinted in to both of them.

Rahne and Dani's jaws drop at the display of strength they just witnessed. Clint enters the room his eyes roaming for the girls until he spots them off to the right. Rahne helps Dani get up to Clint with her arm around her shoulders for support still slightly drowsy from the effects of the gas. Rahne notices Clint's black arm return to it's normal form she wondered why Clint barely showed his powers but somehow she knew that she'd soon find out why.

"Are you okay?" Clint asks Rahne who nods, "Yeah, just a little scratched up." She replies. A wave of relief washes over Clint but he does notice her leg bleeding slightly. Without permission Clint puts his hand on the source of the wound a little black substance coming from his fingers latching onto her cut. A moment later the wound is healed and Rahne feels that rush of energy and relief from the pain coursing through her. Nodding to Clint out of appreciation.

Clint mentally shook himself out of the little moment with his unofficial girlfriend..for the moment that is. "What happened, where's Reyes?" Clint asks.

"I explain soon but right now we need to get out of here, help me get Dani to Reyes' office." Rahne said. Clint took Dani into his arms lifting her off the ground with ease due to his enhanced strength. The three of them go off to the main office.

In another part of the building a trail of blood is forming leading right up to the bloody Dr. Reyes herself with her lab coat now stained red with her blood from Rahne's attack grabbing my her face that has large claw marks running up to her eye that is now slightly gauged and red while the other one is still unharmed.

"Hey, Dr. Reyes!" She hears someone yell out. Dr. Reyes looks up and sees the voice belonging to Sam who is down the hall with Illyana beside him. But behind them is a eyeless towering slender figure that fills the doctor with fear.

"Thank God. You gotta help us!" Sam continues still unaware of the Smiley man coming up from behind.

Dr. Reyes' eyes widen and grips her side limping off back the way she came.

"Dr. Reyes!" Sam calls out desperately witnessing the older woman leaving them.

Illyana feels a pair of cold dry hands grip onto her shoulders turning the Smiley man, she smacks it's hands away with a scream following. Sam takes her hand in his and they head down the hall but come to a stop when another one causally strolls out of the door trapping the two teens. Looking the other way there is another Smiley man that has now entered.

Illyana can take it anymore crying her heart out in terror as the ghosts from her past have come back to life to get her. She curls up against the wall gripping Lockheed into her chest, "I love you, Lockheed! We're gonna die!" Illyana cries out.

Sam crouches down to Illyana trying to shake some sense into her forgetting that he's almost as scared as she is. "Come on Illyana. You gotta do something." Sam says.

"I can't." Illyana shakes her head, "Use your powers." Sam says more forcefully this time.

"I can't!" Illyana screams.

The smiley men continue to close in on them, "Illyana you gotta do something, please!" Sam pleads.

Illyana regains enough composure to do something but it isn't the something that Sam was hoping for. In a flash of blue light Illyana and Lockheed disappear leaving just him alone.

Sam grunts out of frustration looking up to the ceiling, "Seriously?" He yells after her.

He stands back up again looking both ways looking down the way where there is only one smiley man and then back to where there are two and takes his hat off in hand. His whole body begins reverberating and a pinkish purple energy covers his body until it reaches critical mass and then….BAM!!! In streak of purplish or pinkish light he blasts off down the hall leaving the smiley men severed and dead with little bits of purplish pink flames scorched on the floor.

Downstairs by the main entrance/exit is Roberto who is pounding at one of Dr. Reyes' yellow forcefields that is preventing him from getting to the door so much so that he's trying to use his solar powers to break through his hands up to his forearms right below his elbows are covered in orange and black hitting the field over and over again. Roberto tries over and over again. What he doesn't see is Sam running up from behind quickly.

"Hey Berto! Berto!" Sam calls out.

Roberto stops and turns his eyes glowing orange with the charred black surrounding the edges they quickly fade away along with his arms returning to normal as he walks up to Sam.

"Bitch put force fields over all the exits." Roberto explains.

Sam arches an eyebrow looking at the door, "Is she trying to kill us?" He asks his friend honestly.

Roberto shrugs as he begins to walk down the hall. "Don't know. Did she make those smiley things?" He asks Sam who shakes his head.

"No. They're Illyana's." Sam answers.

Roberto scoffs, "Of course they are." He comments not surprised.

The two boys continue walking along, "Have you seen the girls?" Sam asks.

"No!" Roberto responds.

"What about Clint he turn up?" Sam asks again.

Roberto shakes his head, "Negatory!"

Sam sighs. "All right. Upstairs." He runs off to the staircase with Roberto following behind.

When they reach it though there are a whole bunch of smiley men come down towards them growling and snarling. Sam powers up ready to blast off again if need be, but out of the corner is a girl speaking a certain chant or something and a small blue portal opens up with Illyana with her eyes glowing bright blue with her right shoulder armored with her glowing blue sword in hand she flies down the stairs slashing one of the Smiley men right across the chest along with part of the wall covered in blue flame. Quickly reacting she cuts another one up, then teleports to the one in front of Sam slicing it up into bits, then she teleports back up the stairs finishing off the last one.

Illyana breathing heavily lowers her sword admiring her handiwork.

"Where the hell did you go?" Sam asks frustrated at her for leaving him.

Illyana's neon blue eyes return to their natural color and looks to the Kentucky hayseed, "Our special place." She answers.

Roberto slowly comes out from behind Sam eyeing Illyana a way any guy would to a person who turns them on. "That was so hot." He says. This causes Sam to slowly turn his head and give him the 'are you kidding me' look.

Off somewhere else in the compound is Dr. Reyes who is still limping from her wounds and blood pouring out of her body she stops and rests against the side of the wall with her briefcase peeling away her lab coat to look at her wounds causing her to let out a pained groan from the sting of the wounds small drops of blood hit the ground. Dr. Reyes continues to drag herself along off to who knows where.

In Dr. Reyes' office Clint, Dani and Rahne have arrived and notice that Dr. Reyes is still missing. Clint walks over and gently sets Dani in Dr. Reyes' chair by the desk. Clint, Rahne and Dani notice the rest Sam, Roberto, and Illyana enter and completely out of the loop.

Roberto is the first to speak up, "What the hell's going on? Where's Dr. Reyes?" He asks.

Rahne seems like she's on the verge of hyperventilating, "She tried to kill Dani." She answers walking past them coming to a stop next to Roberto.

Sam is the one to respond, "What?" He asks.

Clint rolls his eyes with an irritated look on his face, "Do you need us to spell it out for you hayseed, the doc tried to put her in a fucking body bag!" Clint answers. Rahne told him everything on the way to the office. Honestly Clint thinks cutting Venom loose on her is the best chance at getting out of this hell hole.

Rahne nods at Clint, "That test, it wasn't a test, she tried to kill her." She confirms.

Before anyone can say anything Illyana speaks up from across the room over by the filing cabinet with a file in her hands.

"My file." Illyana states opening it, "Patient reviles authority, but her fragmented psyche and base hatred for humans makes her a prime candidate for the program, conclusion…" Illyana stops walking up to the others with her file in hand.

"A killer…with limitless potential." Illyana chokes out. "Recommend continued investment." She adds before shoving the file into Roberto's arms and walking over to a chair in the room holding Lockheed taking a seat.

Roberto and Sam walk over to the filing cabinet going through it for a moment grabbing four other files handing them off.

Each file had a description for each mutant with the exception of Clint when he opened up his his file he saw a very familiar name at the top 'LIFE FOUNDATION' this of course grabbed his interest continuing to skim through it.

The others finished reading their own files and judging by the looks on their faces they weren't too happy.

Roberto spoke up, "It says similar things in our files as well but they all have the same name on it, 'ESSEX CORPORATION'!" He finishes.

Dani sits up, "That must've been the place that I saw." She guesses.

Clint's eyes are still in his file luckily he didn't have rage issues because if he did the entire room would be history. "Not mine!" He announces.

All eyes in the room turn to him but he doesn't look up but he can feel them. "Patient shows exceptional and extraordinary abilities that include physical enhancements such as increased strength and speed, heightened endurance and stamina, and a unique feature to form constructs in moments of either reflex or self defense. Conclusion…Symbiosis achieved, recommend continued investment, observation, and preservation of host." Clint finishes letting out a grunt of frustration.

Rahne comes over and takes the file from Clint. Reading through it herself Roberto and Sam look over her shoulder and the three of them take a closer look to find out that Clint is right but it also leaves them confused about this Life Foundation.

"What's this Life Foundation? And why is your file separate from ours Clint!" Sam asked.

Clint knew that this would have happened sooner or later. So no point in lying to them now especially to Rahne. "Okay, you guys want the truth well here it is I'm not a mutant!" Clint simply says.

The other just eye each other Rahne is the first to speak up stepping towards him, "What do you mean you're not a mutant?" Rahne asks clearly confused.

Clint sighs, "What I mean is I'm not like you guys I wasn't born with these abilities I got them from something else."

Rahne's expression turns even more curious, "What did ye get em from?" She asks with her thick Scottish accent.

Clint hesitates, "I'm not trying to question anyone's faith here especially yours Rahne, but I'm going to answer that question with a question. Does anyone believe in aliens?" He asks semi-serious.

Silence is the only reaction he gets back for the next minute or so that is.

Sam suddenly sees Clint through a different lens. Seriously…Aliens! "So….you mean you're a…" Sam tries to indicate what he means.

Clint shakes his head, "No! Oh hell no, I'm not an alien I'm just….bonded to one!" Clint elaborates.

Roberto is the next one to speak up waving his hand then making a time out gesture, "Okay back up, back up, okay assuming you are telling the truth and you actually have this alien….inside of you, how did you get it? Hell where would you even find one?" He asks.

Clint scratches the back of his head nervously, "I can answer both of those questions but that's a long story!"

"Care to give us the short version?" Illyana asks with her sassy voice looking at him with interest.

Clint sighs, "Well remember how I told you guys my uncle was a reporter right, well several months ago in San Francisco he was following a lead on this rich billionaire or millionaire Carlton Drake founder, owner, and CEO of the Life Foundation where it was rumored that Drake was recruited and abducting homeless people or something for secret bizarre experiments or something that ending up being everyone's favorite story topics illegal human experimentation and murder cover up. Anyways my Uncle did his job and tried to expose Drake but he didn't have the evidence to back up the story, then about the day before I ended up here one of the employees that got a peek behind the curtain decided she wanted to blow the whistle when she saw the the experiments were too costly and that Drake was a complete lunatic. So she snuck my uncle in but unfortunately I followed them and saw that they were imprisoning them for alien tests." Clint throughly explains.

The others just stare, a majority still not getting it.

Roberto breaks the silence, "So where's this alien what the fuck is it?" He asks.

"The aliens are called Symbiotes, and like the name says is that they don't exactly have a physical form, their sentient they need to bond to a host organism to be able to survive in our environment or any for that matter." Clint further discussed.

A few of the looks in the room started to ease off and also there were a few nods.

"So basically it's like a parasite that needs someone to latch into to keep on ticking?" Sam put out there.

PARASITE!!!! Venom mentally yelled.

This caused Clint to grab his head at the sudden outburst.

"Two things. First off yes that's the most appropriate and best term to describe him, and second he really doesn't like it when you call him that so future reference if we make it through this nobody use the 'P' word." Clint confirmed.

"Wait what do you mean 'he' it has a gender?" Rahne asks.

Clint nods at her, "Yeah and I'm the only one who can hear him, just like Illyana over there is the only one who can hear and talk to that little sock puppet of hers." Clint said points at Lockheed.

Illyana's only response was flipping him the bird.

"So if this thing needs to bond to you to live then how come all those other people you talked about kept dying off when it bonded to them?" Sam couldn't help but ask.

"Well he explained that to me as well you see symbiotes can't just bond to anyone they have to be symbiotic kinda like an organ transplant or online dating where you have to be a match otherwise you won't last very long and according to the one currently riding my ass that I'm a perfect match I don't know if it's by chance or if it's true but that's all I've got." Clint answers.

Roberto raises his hand, "Wait a minute you still didn't tell us how you got this thing?" He reminds Clint.

"Oh right, well like I said I ended up behind the curtains and then my uncle was snapping a few photos for evidence, but then one of the people in the cells started going berserk and caused my uncle to accidentally trigger the alarm and he tried to break her own which worked but she attacked him and when I tried to get her off the symbiote went out of her and into me. The rest is a blur up until the security goons cornered me and I killed them well technically he killed them, but I let my guard down for a moment and wound up knocked out and woke up here cuffed to a bed, that's all I know the end, any other questions?" Clint asks finishing up the story.

To his surprise the voice he heard was Illyana's who remained silent throughout this whole revelation. "Yeah I do, if your not a mutant then what the hell are you doing here?" She asked.

Clint scoffs and shrugs looking at the blonde, "The fuck should I know I sure as hell know it wasn't to be an X-Man!" Clint responds.

Rahne nods at that, "Clint's right about Reyes on that, she wasn't prepping us to be X-Men, she was prepping us to be killers."

Dani now fully awake sits back up again, "We don't have much time, Reyes wants me dead and it won't be long before she comes back to finish the job." She says standing up.

"How? this place is designed to keep us inside. All of our powers, it won't work, even with Clint's alien buddy it's still hopeless!" Roberto says skeptical.

Dani shook her head, "No it isn't, we got each other out of our cages, we can get out of this." She encourages.

"Well that's all well and good, but she's still got force fields around the building, windows, everything. How you gonna get past that?" Sam asks.

"By taking out the source." Dani replies.

Everyone exchanges nods at the plan until they wait for Illyana's response.

"Then let's kill the bitch." Illyana simply says.

With that they head out of the room coming to a halt when Rahne starts sniffing the air her eyes turning yellow and black her wolf senses kicking in turning into her werewolf form. "This way, follow me!" She tells the rest of the group.

They make their way down the hall until they come up around the corner and see small drops of blood on the ground and some smeared on the wall.

They continue along when they hear the overhead speaker suddenly come on. "Tonight I'd like to talk about responsibility. You have a responsibility to your treatment, I want all of you to go to your rooms right now. If you disobey me, or try to leave this facility, I have a responsibility to stop you, no matter what it takes." Dr. Reyes announces over the speaker.

The group continues on coming back into the infirmary with Rahne still leading.

"How do you know she's still in here?" Dani asks.

"I'm a good smeller." Rahne responds.

The PA comes back on, "You're a good killer!" Reyes comments.

The group notices her hand and the trail of blood behind a clothed corner trying to tend to her wounds. Seeing several bloody cloths already discarded off to the side. Setting down the announcer.

"What's going on? What's Essex Corp?" Sam asks.

Reyes grunts and groans in pain bringing herself to her feet walking by the edge of an hospital bed gripping her side.

"It's a scientific organization founded by my superiors." Reyes answers truthfully for once.

"Founded to do what? Screw with our heads?" Sam asks slightly offended.

"To save you!!" Reyes yells angrily.

Clint steps forward, "And what about me huh? I saw the damn file you had on me bitch and I know about the Life Foundation, you knew all along that I wasn't a mutant why sell the charade and convince me I am one, or I'll do you one better why the hell would they send me here? I want some fucking answers right now bitch and no more bullshit!!" Clint demands furiously.

Reyes looks to Clint the expression on her face is dark looks likes she had just about enough of him as much as he's had enough of her.

"The Life Foundation was exploring another avenue to which like my superiors facility humans could transcend to the next stage of evolution, their superior is good friends with mine and requested that you be placed in our facility for further observation until their legal issues were settled." Reyes answers.

Clint looks down and grows a curious expression, "Still you didn't answer my question, why? Why put so much trouble for a guy that ain't a mutant?"

"Because you're the only one that's completely bonded with the parasite, the only one that's still alive, the only one whose been able to achieve symbiosis!" Reyes answered.

Clint was so focused in he didn't even hear Venom yell off about Dr. Reyes calling him a parasite.

Reyes let's out another grunt gripping her side tightly. "If it wasn't for me all of you would've been dead a long time ago!" She yells throwing out her hand creating 6 small force field bubbles one for each of them.

The majority of the mutants plus Clint were fighting to get out hitting the bubbles. While the rest looked scared completely.

"Calm down! Like I said I want all of you to calm down, all right promise to do that and I'll Let you go except Dani and Clint!" Reyes tells them.

Dani and Clint look worried. "Dani needs to be put down, and Clint it seems the foundation would like it's property back so you won't be here much longer!" Reyes informs them.

Dani looks scared Clint just pound on the force field.

"No!!" Rahne cries out for Clint and Dani.

"Let us out! Let us out!" Illyana demands kicking her at her bubble.

"It's for her own good, and yours, I'm sure all of you have figured out her power by now, it's so special, she takes your greatest fear, your darkest secret and makes you live through it over and over, over and over, until it kills you!" Reyes announces as she begins to reduce the force fields making it hade for the occupants to breathe.

Clint can feel the air getting thin, "I swear when I get out of here I'm going to let my little friend butcher you beyond recognition and then some, bitch!" He yells before falling to the ground but Reyes doesn't pay attention as she's focused on Dani.

Reyes watches Dani closely as she slips into unconsciousness. "You're about to see your father again. In the spirit world." Reyes whispers.

Back in the control room all of the monitors black out until only one remains that shows the domes perimeter. And the force field acting up before the screen switches the words 'PERIMETER BREACH' appear with a little alarm beeping.

Back in the infirmary there is a loud banging sound coming from outside as the entire building shakes. This causes Dr. Reyes to turn around looking outside the window as another tremor rolls through the building noticing that it is now snowing outside.

"What are you doing, Dani?" Reyes demands looking back at the girl who is now unconscious yet again.

Reyes looks back to the window as the tremors become more frequent and closer. Suddenly the wall comes crashing down by the face of a bear that has crimson glowing red eyes and brown fur with the head the size of of a speedboat. The bear grabs Reyes with its jaw growling Reyes screams frantically for her life as the bear shakes her body around before tossing her up in the air with one final chomp killing her.

This causes the force fields to drop causing audible gasps to be heard from everyone as they take in lungfuls of air. They notice enough to see the hole in the building and the bear out of the blackness of the night eating Dr. Reyes' dead body.

Rahne crawls over to Dani trying to shake her awake, "Dani. Guys she won't wake up! Help me." Rahne pleads. The others help move Dani's body out into the hallway.

In the sprit world Dani is awake hearing Rahne's voice echoing, while it is snowing and Dani is surrounded by dead bodies in the snow.

In the real world, Sam yells out, "It's coming back!" With that the bear tries to force its mouth and paws into the hole in the building trying to reach further. But the others are already out into the hallway dragging Dani's body along.

"It's hunting us." Roberto claims.

Rahne shakes her head, "No. It's hunting Dani." She corrects.

"Why Dani?" Sam asks.

"Because that's what she fears." Rahne answers.

"Smoky out there ain't gonna stop til she's dead." Clint adds.

Rahne nods in agreement, "Help me."

Clint gets up with Sam each of them grabbing a leg helping Rahne carry her.

They make it down the hallway until the bear shakes the building causing everyone to fall over and Rahne, Clint, and Sam to drop Dani's body. As the lights go out slightly before coming back on again.

Illyana grunts turning to the others, "Take Dani to a safe place, and I'll take care of this bear." She says turning around and speaks a chant causing a blue portal to open up Illyana walking slowly towards it.

Rahne looks worried but can't help but ask the obvious, "What are you going to do?"

Illyana just keeps walking towards the portal, "I'm going to play with it. Get her out of here." She tells the other as she right shoulder and arm down to the hand slowing encases itself in silver armor, and soon in her hand appears her sword as the blade manifests itself right into the tiled floor before igniting its blue flame.

"Are you crazy? That thing'll kill you!" Sam warns her.

"It's a suicide run!" Clint adds on.

"Their right it's magic." Rahne concurs.

Illyana faunal my looks back over her shoulder the wind blowing in her hair. "So am I." She says as her eyes turn neon blue.

Roberto makes a run for the portal, "No Illy!" He yells out after her, but it's too late as she makes her way through, the portal closing behind her.

Outside the building on the snowing white grass opens another portal where Illyana steps out with a tiny purple dragon that is a real life Lockheed with the same neon blue eyes and breaths out neon blue fire from it's mouth perching itself on Illyana's shoulder.

"Hey Yogi!" Illyana calls out to the Demon bear who turns to face her.

"Lions and tigers and bears. Oh my." Illyana recites for the Wizard of Oz.

She looks to her shoulder where Lockheed rests, "Right Lockheed?" She asks her companion and friend. Lockheed just lets out a little squeal in return most likely meaning he agrees with her.

The demon bear lets out a loud roar as the snow falls around it. Illyana and the bear charge at each other. Just before Illyana reaches the bear she plants her sword into the ground propelling herself over the bears head and slices her sword into it's back making a large gash with the blade that quickly fades away as the scenery changes to Limbo and back as Lockheed flies into the bear's face spewing blue fire. The bear tries to eat Lockheed but fails. From behind Illyana skids into the snow twirling her sword. Like a badass.

While inside the main building by the nearest window watching are Sam, Roberto, and Clint who are watching the fight in amazement.

"Holy shit!" Sam says.

"I'm gonna marry that girl." Roberto promises.

Clint pats his hand on Roberto's shoulder leaning over, "Only in your dreams dude!" He says.

Roberto give Clint the eye as he takes off to help Rahne with Dani.

Back outside Lockheed lands back on Illyana's shoulder. "You okay Lockheed?" She asks.

His only response is a small spew of blue fire warning a smirk from Illyana. She ready's into a fighting stance as the demon bear lets out another furious roar at the blonde.

Off to the side by the main building the doors swing open with Sam, Clint, Rahne, and Roberto with Dani across Rahne's shoulders.

"Come on! Let's go. Let's go." Sam encourages holding the door open.

Rahne comes to a stop turning to Roberto, "Berto you have to run with her." She says.

Roberto give a conflicted look due to the obvious fear of his powers. "I can't. I'm not ready." He tells Rahne who shakes her head.

"You won't hurt her, you can do this." Rahne encourages. Dropping Dani's body into Roberto's arms.

Sam runs ahead of the group, "Come on, this way." He calls after the others who follow him over to the Church.

Sam and Clint pull the doors open as Rahne Roberto and Clint pile inside. Sam however hesitates looking back at Illyana who is currently dishing it out with the bear.

The other look at Sam questioningly, "You guys go. I'm going back for Illy." Sam tells them pushing the doors open.

"Sam!" Roberto calls out who looks at the Kentucky boy worriedly.

Sam just shrugs, "Gotta get better someday." slamming the chapel doors shut behind him.

Rahne runs over turning on all of the lights in the church. Before running up the aisle. "Give her to me. Hide." She tells Roberto who complies and then runs off to hide.

Clint runs up to Rahne, "What should I do?" He asks her. Rahne looks to him, "Find a place to hide I'll hide Dani someplace safe." Rahne tells him.

Clint puts a hand on her shoulder, "I'm not leaving you Rahne, I won't!" He reassured her.

Rahne can feel her heart flutter believe it or not given the situation they find themselves in. She can't help but give him a sweet smile in return.

"Then help me get her to the confessionals." Rahne says. Clint nods and opens up the door for her.

"Demons can't come in churches! Demons can't come in churches!" Rahne quietly repeats her mantra as Clint opens the confessional door for Rahne and Dani to get into before closing it behind her. Clint stays out front standing guard.

Aww! You are so brave defending a lady's honor! Venom mentally comments.

Clint grunts, "Shut up!" He says.

Inside the confessional Rahne readjusts herself, "Dani, I really need you to wake up now!" She begs shaking Dani's unconscious form.

Outside along the the side of the church with snow still falling is Sam running and comes to a stop when he sees the bear turn to face him.

The demon bear head straight at him with Illyana and Lockheed running after the bear from behind with her sword still in hand, "Come back, you coward!" She yells after the bear.

Sam charges up purple and pink energy surrounding him and blasts of right at the bear.

Inside Rahne is reciting a Hail Mary prayer. Suddenly the church wall comes down and the demon bear storms in Clint eyes the beast with his own intimidated look the bear roars at him and Clint growls and runs at the bear leaping up only to be swatted away by the bears front right paw sending Clint flying down the center aisle skidding to a stop. The bear turns his attention back to the confessional smelling the air with Rahne and Dani still inside.

Rahne begins to whimper as the bear comes closer and the top of the confessional is suddenly ripped off by the bear's jaws spitting it out off to the side. Bending down putting it's glowing red eye directly into the opening to see the two girls. Drawing its face away for a second before bringing its jaws right above the confessional letting out a loud roar.

Rahne starts screaming utterly terrified and knowing for certain she is going to die as the bear claws at the small box rocking it back and forth. Roberto watches from a distance too scared himself to do anything Clint is gasping for air clutching his side his hand covered in blood for a small gash from one of the bears giant claws. Clint quickly gets up and yells using his enhanced strength to jump up onto the bear's back gripping onto the smoky fur. Clint and the bear's heads both turn to the giant circular window to see a purplish pink ball that is Sam humming smashing right through the window hitting the bear square in the teeth sending one of its big canine fangs flying a few inches away from Roberto's face. He looks at the giant tooth in horror. Sam falls onto one of the stools breaking right through groaning from the hit.

Clint who is still on the bears back sees Rahne trying to drag Dani away, "Rahne! Run! Just go!" Clint yells out waving his hand away signaling her to run.

Rahne notices Clint hanging on for dear life several feet up in the air on the back of the beast. "Clint!" She yells out worried for him. She continues to drag Dani's body off to the back where Roberto is.

On the ground Sam is groaning as he is unaware of the fact that the bears missing canine suddenly grows back in a puff of black smoke. The bear looks at Sam and let's out another roar but this one is one of pure rage. Sam shields his face with his arms feeling the bears ice cold breath freezing him and screaming in the process.

Over by the shattered glass window, Illyana rolls in somersaulting once landing on her feet her eyes still glowing, "Demon bear, nowhere to run now." Illyana declares smirking. The bear roars at her.

Behind the columns are Rahne and Dani. Rahne takes Dani's face into her hands, "Dani, I know you're in there. Please you're not alone I'm here we're all here fighting for you!"

In the sprit world Dani is awake still hearing Rahne's voice echoing, Dani looks up at the sky searching for her friend, "Rahne where are you?" Dani calls out. From behind a Wolf with red fur goes darting by.

"Rahne!" Dani calls out after the wolf chasing it.

Back in the real world, Rahne is still trying to reach Dani brushing her hair back. Off to the other aisle in front of her is Roberto ducked down under a column stool.

Rahne give him a look, "What are you doing?" She asks.

Roberto shrugs his eyebrows, "I'm hiding. The same thing as you're doing." He responds.

Rahne looks to see Illyana and Lockheed struggling against the bear and Clint still hanging tightly. The bear keeps going in and out of Limbo as Illyana and Lockheed struggle to hold it off. With a swipe of a paw the demon bear sends Illyana flying off into the window Clint quickly sees this, "Watch out!" He yells out after her. Quickly she forms a portal behind her and reopens dropping her outside the church. Illyana hits the ground hard groaning and exhausted. She sees Lockheed now once again in his usual puppet form as the glow slowly fades from her sword returning to normal as do her eyes. She crawls for her friend, "Lockheed!" Illyana cries taking the puppet into her hands, sobbing using her sword to steady her.

On the bear's back Clint's expression turns into to a pissed off one, "Okay it's time to boogey with the bear!" Clint says to the oblivious demon bear she turns to Roberto and Rahne. Clint lifts his left arm firing a tendril to the bears neck and then does the same with the right one the two tendrils meet and lock together to become one tendril. Clint stands up in the bears back and pulls with everything he's got in an attempt to choke the life out of the damn thing. He grunts strained but the bear quickly and hardly shakes Clint off whipping him backwards and hard onto the tiled ground with a loud CRACK!!

Clint looks up and is now facing the demon bear he sees Rahne only a few feet away to his left with her hands over her mouth in terror clearing she was seeing something that he didn't but he was a little hazy from the pain that was currently overwhelming his entire body especially his legs.

Rahne crawled over to Clint, "Jesus Christ! Clint, don't move!" Rahne pleads whimpering looking at him up and down.

Clint squeezes his eyes as pain shoots up through him in an attempt to move his legs he lifts his head up to find both of them shattered in weird angles and the bone and blood protruding from the flesh.

"Oh God my legs are broken." Clint groans laying back down.

"What do you want me to do?" Rahne asks him desperately wishing to help.

Clint waves her off, "Just go guard Dani she can't defend herself like the rest of us I'll be fine…barely, go!" He urges.

Rahne does as he says making her way back over to Dani's unconscious body. The bear closes in as Roberto watches from behind the column.

"Berto, nut up!" Sam yells at him.

Roberto hesitates before he stand up in front of Clint almost like he was guarding him as the demon bear throws a few chunks of garbage at Roberto missing.

Roberto shuts his eyes, closes his fists concentrates with that his entire body turns into a sun's surface burning his clothes off and lets out a cries yell his black charred body with a faint orange glow sending a solar blast right at the bear burning up its fur letting out a whimper against the heat. From there Roberto catches a column thrown at him by the bear and proceeds to hit the bear with it across the face.

In the spirit world Dani is still chasing after Rahne in her wolf form calling out her name until the wolf disappears under a tree Dani follows but there is no other side.

In the real world Rahne is still talking to Dani, "You have to wake up Dani or we're all going to die. I know you can stop this only you can stop this!" Rahne says.

In the spirit world Dani crouches in the hollow tree trunk putting her head between her legs,

"I can't!" Dani aimlessly replies to Rahne.

In the real world Roberto is still fighting off the bear in his solar form Illyana still wounded outside drags herself to the edge of the rubble.

"Berto!" Illyana cries out after she witnesses the bear slamming it's paw down on the mutant causing Roberto to revert back to his natural buck naked human form.

Clint can only watch helplessly out of desperation he calls out. "Listen if you can hear me you need to do something or they're all going to die, Rahne's going to die please if there's anything you haven't shown me yet now's the time to show it!" Clint yells out to Venom.

It's showtime! Ladies and gentlemen prepare to be amazed! Venom mentally announces to Clint.

Clint suddenly feels a overwhelming sensation coursing throughout his body. Rahne the one closest to Clint witnesses as a black ooze starts to engulf his entire body.

The pain from his body begins to subside like he was never in pain at all. Tiny tendrils straighten out Clint's legs healing them snapping the bones back into place and closing the gash on his side. The force suddenly brings Clint to his feet as he eyes the bear with a dark smirk. The black mass has covered his entire body in the shape of another humanoid looking body with a bulking muscular build with little white veins running along the figure. The last thing is Clint's that is swallowed up as a set of sharp fangs side by side cover up and a tongue lashing out as the creature has ghost white eyes that trail up to its forehead. The figure is towering a 7.5-8ft tall. This is the true form of none other than…..VENOM!!!!

All the others around watch in awe, Rahne's jaw is on the floor at the sight before her Venom sees the shocked expression and give her a thumbs up. Off to the side Illyana, Roberto and Sam all scattered throughout the church have similar expressions at the towering so called…alien.

Venom eyes the demon bear that looks back at him and roars.

"Eyes, organs, flesh, so much meat, so little time!" Venom says out loud for all to hear his voice is dark, distorted, and dangerous. Swirling his tongue around with a bit of saliva drooling off of it.

Venom lets out his own blood curdling roar before he charges at the bear. Venom fires off a tendril into the rafters swinging on it like a vine or a spider web delivering an uppercut blow to the bear beneath it's jaw. Venom releases the tendril and shoots another one in mid air wrapping it around the bears snout forcing it shut. Landing back on the ground.

"Have a nice trip, see you next fall!" Venom says to the demon bear whipping the bear by its snout upside down with a loud thud on its back right outside of the church on the grass sending some debris all over. The bear finally breaks the tendril around its mouth getting back to its feet and shakes its head glaring menacingly at Venom letting out a roar and changes. Venom leaps on top of the bear with a backflip sinking his teeth into the bear tearing at its nonexistent flesh.

Venom swallows the smoky brown fur and meaty hide of the hellish behemoth. Venom's tongue licks his chops and fangs.

"Hmm? Not bad." Venom says to himself before proceeding to crawl back up the bear's back towards its head.

Unfortunately the demon bear succeeds in getting back into the damaged chapel and shakes Venom off hitting the other side of the church towards the undamaged wall with a loud thud and the impact creating a small crater in the wall that Venom is stuck in.

The bear turns it's attention back to Dani and Rahne who notices her eyes becoming wide with fear as the beast advances on her once again.

In the wall dangling Venom shakes his head with a grunt turning back to the bear Venom puts his massive black arms to the edges of the wall launching himself. Rearing back his bulking taloned fist clenching it tight.

"Hey furball!" Venom yells, grabbing the bears attention turning his face to the right only to meet a mean sucker punch right to the jaw breaking a few smaller teeth sending a few shards and a bit drool flying out of the bear's mouth.

Venom side flips off the nose and back down to the ground in the center aisle between the broken columns on either side.

Look at you go!! Clint mentally praises inside of Venom who looks away for a moment chuckling at the comment.

"I know, I'm really good." Venom boasts to Clint out loud turning his head back to see the bear regaining focus, it's teeth grown back again.

Venom leaps up for another attack only to be swatted away by the bears front left paw and claws slashing into Venom's torso right down to Clint's showing his host's skin and into the back wall and to the ground.

Rahne like the others had been watching the display of the two creatures battling each other but all she saw beneath the aliens pitch black exterior, those elongated white eyes, and fangs was the boy she cared about who cared about her in return. She let out a sharp gasp putting her hands over her mouth tears beginning to well up in her eyes seeing Clint/Venom flicked away by the monstrous bear like nothing and saw him struggling to get up from the ground.

The bear turned back to Rahne and Dani and roared.

Rage filled Rahne, she got up and rushed to the center aisle a few feet away. Her face becomes contorted with fury letting out a something that sounds like a scream and a predatory growl opening her mouth to revel her top and bottom incisors to become four inch long sharp wolf fangs bared at the demon who Rahne swears she's going to send back to Hell herself.

The bear watches and unleashes a small growl trying to capture Rahne in her jaws but it's too late as the small girl leaps with her animalistic strength right onto the bears snout extending her claws sinking them into the bears upper snout roaring and tearing with everything she has slashing over and over again like a true predator.

Until the bear whips it's head up sending Rahne back onto the upper deck behind her. The bear now thirsty for blood is out to get the redhead. It jumps up on its back legs putting its font paws on the upper column for a moment breaking it slightly then begins chomping away like crazy at the wood trying eat and kill the girl.

Down below Dani still unconscious and defenseless is grabbed by Sam who has recovered enough to take a hold of her body and initiates a small blast of purple energy off to the side before the bears paw unknowingly steps down where she was and would be crushed if she had been there a second later.

Off to the back slowly getting up shaking off the dust and debris is Venom who is now healed as the red gashes across his and Clint's chest heal up black once again covering the exterior. Venom looks up to see the bear trying to eat Rahne and Clint does to if you could see his face right now beneath Venom's it would be filled with fright at witnessing the only girl who ever made him feel loved and meaningful desperately trying to stay out of the demonic jaws of death.

RAHNE!!! Don't just stand there fucking do something, Save her!!!! Clint screamed out on the inside.

Venom watched believe it or not even though he wasn't the one who kissed Rahne or was completely nonexistent to her until a few minutes ago he does feel something inside when she's around him and Clint a weird feeling, a….good feeling. And can't allow himself to let her die.

So with elegance he runs at the bear pumping his arms and jumps from behind landing right on the bears head right above its eyes. Opening his oversized hands with the black taloned tips for fingers he raises his hands up.

"Now you see us, now you DON'T!!" Venom roars in one swift motion bringing them down plunging them right into the bear's glowing crimson red eyes.

A loud whimper follows from the bear ceasing trying to eat Rahne and is now erratically trying to throw Venom off its face and eyes. It brings its paws up trying to grab at the black symbiote but to no avail. Venom and Clint both squeeze into the eyes with all their strength.

Unfortunately by sheer chance the bear unintentionally swiped a broken wooden column up towards the back of the church up sailing through the ceiling into the bell tower hitting the bell hard causing it to ring out loudly throughout the entire building.

The church bell's loud sound suddenly caused Venom to relinquish his grip from the bears eyes grabbing his head, his entire body shaking violently and wail in pain retreating back into his host to reveal Clint who was also screaming from the noisy pain shortly realizing he is now out once again he jumps off of the bear's nose reaches out for the railing right next to Rahne both of them struggling to stay out of the bears jaws Clint puts his right arm under Rahne's ass trying his best to push her up above himself putting as much distance between the bear's mouth and Rahne as possible while trying to stay out of it himself.

"Come on where'd you go you gotta come back out!" Clint yells out fearfully to Venom into the empty trying to keep his legs out of the bear's mouth. But gets no response.

Back in the sprit world Dani is still sitting in the tree trunk when a pair of legs suddenly appear in front of her seeing the figure that they belong to crouching down to her she looks up from her sheltered position to gaze upon her dead father who is now alive before her.

"Dad!" Dani cries out throwing herself at him wrapping her arms around his shoulders he returns to gesture wrapping his arms around her back the two remain that way for a moment rejoicing in their momentary reunion.

"I'm so sorry!" Dani shudders out her voice laced with guilt.

The two separate her father puts his arms on her shoulders, "It wasn't your fault, and now you need to wake up." He says solemnly yet comforting at the same time.

Dani hesitates for a moment, "But the bear, it's too big." she says scared.

Her father leans down to her, "You're bigger." He replies back.

Silence follows her father gets up and Dani lets his hand slide out of her grasp finally letting go of her guilt and her fear as she sits now alone. She hears the echos of Rahne screaming out her name for her help. Tilting her head up with a confident and serious expression she breaths in closing her eyes forcing herself to wake up.

Rahne afraid that Clint can't hang on for much longer calls out for Dani to wake up. "DANI!! HELP!!"

Behind the bear with her eyes fluttering is Dani who wakes up in Sam's arms eyeing the bear seeing it trying to eat Clint and Rahne.

"Stop!" Dani strictly orders to the bear as she gets to her feet.

That one little word causes the bear to halt

it's actions going as still as a statue the only sound audible is the bears breathing through its nose.

Clint and Rahne both see this and they stop for a moment their legs now dangling.

The demon bear then hops around to face its target Dani and lets out a strong windy roar at the dark haired Native American girl. Dani is unaffected by this taking a step forward towards the bear.

"No." She says, beginning to slowly walk towards the bear a step at a time.

Taking this time to their advantage Clint and Rahne both jump back down to the ground and off to the side as they witness the confrontation between Dani and the demon bear.

"I'm in charge now. Control!" Dani tells the bear.

The bear shakes it's head but it's anger seems to be dissipating.

"Good." She says to the bear.

On the other side behind the bear is Roberto who is now completely naked from his solar form burning off his clothes and watches the display before him.

Dani is right up to the bear's snout only a few feet away shushing the bear soothingly. Bringing her hand up putting it out to the bear who is now completely calm and lays it's head down in front of her as the morning sunlight shines through the remaining window right onto the bear's face illuminating its brown fur on its face, those red eyes dimming looking right at the girl who is now rubbing its snout soothingly.

Dani looks the bear in the eyes, "Everything's gonna be okay, you don't have to worry about anything anymore, but it's time to go to sleep now." She says, her voice slightly breaking. Dani then reaches behind her neck and takes off her bear necklace wrapping it up and stuffing it into her pocket.

The demon bear slowly closes its eyes and its body fades away until only its head remains then it turns into a patch of black smoke that vanishes into thin air.

Dani turns around to see Sam laying a few feet away who groans from the bruises and looks at Dani in admiration getting to his feet slowly.

Over by the broken wall is Illyana who is sweaty and dirty her right arm still armored watches looking around tears well up in the corner of her eyes but none escape.

On the other side of the church is Roberto who grabs a giant slab of wood covered in blotches of snow covering his exposed manhood while the rest of his body remains exposed.

Off to the side not far away from Illyana is Clint whose grey sweatshirt is torn and stained with blood from the bear's claws but his wounds are healed courtesy of Venom. And next to him on his left is Rahne who is now back in her human form are silent like the others but take a moment to look at each other sharing a smile as the sunlight shines on their skin illuminating them.

The sun now shines over the sky as morning has come the others with the exception of Dani and Sam that is have changed their clothes. Roberto got himself a fresh change of clothes and is is now wearing a black t-shirt and red pants. Illyana didn't really change much other than wearing a pair of light grey pants with a few natural holes in them she is also wearing her favorite black leather jacket and underneath is the same black sleeveless shirt she wore last night. Rahne is wearing her light grey fitting long sleeve shirt with her maroon t-shirt beneath it still she chose to wear the same jeans as before. Clint got rid of that grey bloody and torn long sleeve and is now wearing a plain white t-shirt with a pitch black short sleeve opened button up over it and fresh dark blue jeans with his silver cross necklace hanging out.

The group was now outside of the main facility walking around the rubble of the destroyed side of the building. Dani was looking up at the side of the infirmary with the destroyed church behind her before looking down when her eye caught wind of what looked like a discarded picture. The others were doing similar thing as Rahne gazed up at the hole in the wall, Clint was to her right observing the rubble like Dani and Roberto who was to his right picking up a bloody heel that obviously belonged to Dr. Reyes with her foot still inside leaking fresh blood and saliva out from the bear's mouth he exclaims in disgust dropping it back to the ground. Off to the side Illyana as sitting down.

Dani bends down to pick up the picture to reveal it to be of her and her father hugging together outside of their house on the reservation. She smiles at it putting it in her back jean pocket.

Sam is on the grass holding onto the piece of coal in his good hand.

Dani looks back up to Rahne and the others, "Thank You! Thanks to all of you..for saving me." She thanks the others a few just nod.

Rahne chuckles arching her eyebrows, "Are you kidding? You saved us." She says modestly and thankful.

"Well if you really think about it we saved each other." Roberto adds in pointing at himself then pointing at the others in a circular motion with his finger.

Rahne then looks to Clint next to her turning towards him. Clint notices and meets her gaze. "You saved me." She says sweetly with a smile.

Clint just chuckles walking up to her putting his left hand on her shoulder, "No Rahne…I didn't save you!" Clint denies with a smirk. His eyes then turn pitch black with a few white veins in the corners. "WE! Saved you." Clint corrects hinting to Venom with a slight distortion to his voice.

Rahne chuckles reaching up to cup his cheek giving Clint/Venom a quick kiss on the lips leaving a slight blush on her cheeks that is completely adorable. Clint's eyes return to normal giving a nod to her.

Sam walks out onto the grass charging his good arm up and blasting the piece of coal off into the air and vanishing out of sight into the blue sky to reveal nothing stopping it.

"Hey guys, the dome's gone." Sam informs the others who were watching intently and are amazed as well.

"Sooo….we're free?" Illyana asks trying to confirm unsure of herself.

Roberto shrugs, "Reyes always said the nearest town is 20 miles away." He reminds the other.

Illyana takes Lockheed in his puppet form in her hand crossing it over with her other one. "She could be lying, should we find out?" Illyana asks the others almost as if she were daring them.

Clint steps forward sticking his thumb out pointing it at himself, "I'm all in, anywhere is better than here I'll tell you that." He says enthusiastically.

YES! Finally we're free. Venom happily says mentally causing Clint to smirk shaking his head at his friend's happiness finding it amusing.

The group spend the next 20 minutes or so to get what they needed in a few backpacks or sacks and headed out of the building and down the main road.

Illyana and Roberto who had a backpack slung over his left shoulder, were standing next to each other with a sack over her back with her things she picked out for the trip to wherever they were going to next with Lockheed in her back pocket. To their right was Sam who had his grey sweater over his right shoulder and Dani to his right. And at the far end were Clint and Rahne who had her own small backpack strapped to her they were happily walking holding hands.

Clint leaned forward turning his head to the left to look at Dani next to him.

"Hey Dani that story your dad told you about the demon bear I think I finally understand the moral of the story." Clint tells her she looks up and nods at him.

"Well actually that was only half of the story, the the full story is that, my father used to tell me that inside every person, there are two bears. One bear is all things good, compassion, love, trust. The other is all things evil fear, shame, and self-destruction. I asked him, 'Which one wins?'" Dani explains.

"And what did he say?" Clint asks genuinely curious.

"He told me, 'The one you feed.'" She answers.

With that the group walk down the winding road and into freedom back into the world. Hoping for a new day and a better day one that they will face, together.
