Cole and his dad were just walking through the corridors to visit her. Once they arrived, Cole shortly glanced at his mother, then…
"Hi, honey," Lilly greeted.
"Mom!" Cole retorted as he gave her a big hug. "I don't want you to be sick anymore, Mom,"
"I know," Lilly replied. "But, we don't always get what we want, now do we?"
"You're father said you got in trouble in school," she added.
"Yeah" Cole admitted. "But, it, it wasn't my fault. There's this kid, he's just, he's just a big bully, he always picking on the little kids, then–"
"And you got into a fight" Lilly finished for him.
"I'm sorry, Mom," Cole said. "I promise, I won't fight anymore. I'll be good from now on,"
"I-I'll make you proud, and…and" he added, starting to tear up.
"Oh Cole, don't you see? I am proud" Lilly said. "I want you to promise me, Cole, that you will always stand up to those who are cruel and unjust. Always."
"I promise, mom. Always…"
