Addiction - A Big Time Rush Fanfiction….

A/N - Well, here is chapter eight! Wow, thanks so much for all the reviews from the last chapters; it means a lot to me! Sorry for the while wait; I have been busy with the holiday season coming up! But I still am planning to try and update for sure! Also, this chapter took me a while to get inspiration and write for, and I'm trying to do this story justice! Anyway, with Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, where I am in the world, do you have any plans for the holidays? Stay safe, travel safe, stay healthy and happy Holidays!

Also, OMG, we are possibly days away from hearing the full version of the new BTR single coming out after seven years of waiting! :)

Chapter 8

The hospital waiting room was silent, and not many people were there beside Mama Knight, Katie, Gustavo, Kelly, Logan, James, and Carlos. The group of seven waited and waited for news on one Kendall Knight as they all started to fall asleep in their chairs slowly. But it was hard; even though they were falling asleep, they woke up right away, none of them could sleep. Once they closed their eyes, the only thing that kept replaying in their minds was Kendall passing out on stage during their live tv performance. It had been scary in person, and waiting was still frightening; it; it's had been a while, no one kept track of time, and the group couldn't stand the silence anymore. But for now, the silence lasted, at least until Mama Knight started crying once more; everyone felt even more sadness at this.

"I just don't u-understand - " Mama Knight began after she calmed down once more; she wiped some tears away before looking at the boys. " - H-How? I mean, does anyone have the slightest clue as to what's going on with Kendall? You said he seemed a bit off than normal…."

"We thought maybe he was just sick," Carlos states as he frowns; he leans back in his chair. "It was the only option we could come up with."

Logan and James frown at this; they figured Carlos had no real idea what was going on. James had been onto Logan and Kendall, but it seems as if Logan is the only real one that knew what was happening to their friend. The two remain in eye contact, not stopping their staredown. It was as if they were almost trying to read one another's thought on this situation. The others chatted around, not realizing what was going on for a moment until Mama Knight was done talking. It was then Carlos clapped his hands together in front of their faces, and they both were pulled out of their staring contents; they looked to see everyone eyeing them.

"Do you guys know what's going on with Kendall? You've been staring at one another for the past five minutes as you do, plus it's creeping us out." Carlos explains as he sighs.

Once more, the two eye one another, debating on if they should tell what they know. Of course, it would be best to tell them the truth, but then Logan, of all people, was worried about breaking his trust with Kendall. Yet, he knew somehow that it would get dragged out of him sooner or later, and if James told what he knew, he would have to fill in the blanks. Logan sighs and frowns, and he looks down at his hands nervously before looking back at everyone staring at him now. '

"Honey, we want an honest answer. If you know what's been going on with Kendall, please tell us. He'd get over being mad if he didn't want you to tell us, trust me. Letting us know will help him." Mama Knight explains as she wipes a few more tears away that are threatening to spill out of her eyes again; everyone around them is silent once more as she speaks.

Logan opens his mouth for a moment as if to speak, but then he closes it. Why was it so hard to tell them about the pills Kendall has been taking? He wasn't sure, but he finally found the courage and said, "Kendall's been taking some pills - "

Everyone's eyes widen at this news, and Mama Knight says in a quiet voice, "What?"

Logan sighs. He says again, "He's been taking some pills….it's in an orange bottle, and they are white. Kendall wouldn't tell me where he got them from, but I knew. I found him taking them a while ago, but he made me swear not to tell anyone; I'm sorry. I should have….I thought he stopped taking them. I made him promise to stop taking them so in return I wouldn't tell anyone, and now...now…" Logan allows tears to roll down his cheeks. "...Now it could be too late, and it's all my fault. I'm so sorry." Logan finishes as he starts to cry.

Everyone is quiet at this news; James frowns, finally knowing the truth, and he says, "That's what was going on with Kendall, and you knew? You knew and didn't tell anyone?" James questions as he glares at Logan slightly.

Whipping his eyes, Logan says, "As I said, I thought he stopped taking them. We made a deal, and I already told you the value; I'm not repeating it. I feel guilty as it is - "

" - And you should! Who cares if you both promised; As soon as you knew, you should've gone right to Mama Knight and told her!" James declares as he crosses his arms.

"Guys, relax, it'll be okay. Sure, he could've but would Kendall have stopped taking them even then? He could've done the same thing to his mother that he did to Logan. Fighting isn't going to solve anything. Right now, we know the truth, and right now, we need to support Kendall and not drag one another down." Carlos states, getting in between the two and keeping James from jumping at Logan.

The two calm down, and James sighs, "Your right Carlos, I'm sorry, Logan; it's just hard to know the truth…."

Mama Knight sighs, "It's hard to know; it always is. But Carlos is correct, and Logan did the right thing being honest. Now we can help Kendall when the doctor lets us see him, of course." Mama Knight wipes more tears away. "This is a lesson for all of us boys, it's not good to keep secrets no matter the reason, and it's not good to take random pills we don't know where they came from. It'll be a hard recovery for Kendall, but we'll help him through it." Mama Knight finishes as she hugs all three boys.

"In the meantime - " Gustavo begins as he stands up, he sighs. " - I'll get in contact with some therapist I know; I'm sure the doctor will recommend one. It'll help Kendall, whether he wants it or not. He can at least come to one appointment, and we'll go from there." Gustavo finishes sadly as he rubs the sides of his temples.

Mama Knight goes to speak, but before she can, a doctor comes into the waiting room. "Knight?" As soon as they hear the name, the group goes over to the doctor, telling him they are for Kendall and booming him with questions about the blonde-haired- green-eyed boy. The doctor finally gets them all to calm down, and he frowns while looking at his chart.

"I'm sorry to say this, and it might take a moment to take in the news - " The doctor sighs as he looks at them and says, " - We did some test on Mr. Knight, and it turns out with found some - " The doctor began as Mama Knight interrupts.

" - Drugs in his system. We know….We just found he's been taking some random pills he had." Mama Knight sighs as she frowns.

The doctor nods, "Yes, you are correct about that. However, it's not just any drug. The drug we found in Mr. Knight's system is Ecstasy, also known as Molly on the streets. How he got a hold of these kinds of drugs, we aren't sure. But it is illegal to have them, and he's lucky to be alive right now…." The doctor finishes as he frowns.

Everyone looks at him in shock at this information, especially Logan. Sure, he knew about the pills and knew they were drugs, but he didn't know what kind until now. The whole group is quiet, and all anyone can do is cry more. Seeing the group before him, the doctor sighs. He decides to give them a moment before continuing once he sees they are okay; he flips a page on his paperwork and looks at all of them.

"Another things, besides the drug we found in his system, his vital signs were a little. High blood pressure, his heart rate was up, and his lack of liquid and food intake passed out. As I said, he's lucky he got here as soon as he did…." The doctor finishes as he frowns.

The group nods, "Thank you, doctor. Can we see him?" Mama Knight questions as she sighs.

With a weak smile, the doctor says, "Yes, you may; he woke up once but fell back to sleep. He is sleeping right now; please let him sleep. Can we keep it around two-three people at a time in his room? Your welcome to stay until visiting hours is over, which isn't for a while." The doctor finishes as he watches the group in front of him.

The group nods in agreement; after deciding who should go in first, Mama Knight, Katie, and Logan follow the excellent doctor to Kendall's room. The walk there felt longer than average, and as they strolled along the white hallways, the walls felt like they were closing on them even if they weren't moving in reality. Finally, after what felt like hours (which was only a few minutes), the group of four made it to their destination. Room 212 stood out to them, and they all entered the scene. Mama Knight, Katie, and Logan were shocked at what they saw.

Kendall was lying in his bed, asleep, hooked up to various machines. He was hooked up to a heart monitor, a blood pressure machine, an IV, and so many more. Logan just watched in sadness and slight horror as he saw his friend on the hospital bed for the first time. It was silent once more until Mama Knight started crying for the millionth time that day. Katie was also crying, and Logan couldn't help but let his tears flow free once more. All he could do was pull Mama Knight and Katie into a hug as they stood there crying...
