I was getting ready for my first day at St. Vladamir's Academy when I hear a knock on the door. I knew it wasn't my mother or father since they left late last night. I opened the door to find Liss standing there in a pair of white skinny jeans and a flowing flower top. Her platinum blonde hair was pulled back in a high ponytail. I gave her props, I would never have worn those white jeans. Given the time of the month and me running through the woods behind my old house.

"You're not ready?" She asked as she pushed through the doorway. I closed the door as she fully entered.

Scratching my head, "no, I was just changing."

I saw her scrunching her nose before looking at me "are that all what you have?" She looked at the clothes I had laying out on my bed. "I hope you have more coming, or we need to go shopping soon." I chuckled at that.

"The rest is coming later this week, not everything can be pilled onto the plane ride here." I shrugged my shoulders "So this is what I have until then." I picked up the red button-down blouse, "let's just hope there's not delay, or I might take you up on that offer to go shopping." Lissa chuckled at that. With the blouse in my hands, she handed me a pair of black jean that were beside her. I had a pair of black vans beside my converse. My outfit was simple but elegant. Good for my first day of school.

"Have you gotten your times table yet or are you getting it this morning." She seemed to be relaxed here with me, better than when before I opened my door. I pointed towards the desk that had some books and the times table while I went towards the closet to dress. Silently I hoped I didn't have to continue to get dressed in the closet when I have the whole room to myself.

"Have the shown you your classes as well?" I overheard from the closet. I acknowledge it with a grunt as I slid into my jeans. They were a tight fit but showed of the curves I had. Same went for the red button-down shirt. It cut at my elbows that had the button up feeling. I stepped out of the closet to put my shoes on. "Ah Rose! You have Combat with Eddie and Mason." She said before looking up to me. "Look at you Rose!" She said with excitement. "Hotness radiating from you," she said with a wink.

Shoving her slightly, jokingly "Nah, you're just saying that." I would call myself hot, I knew I was a solid eight on a good day. But from the girls I've seen so far, it seemed to go down to a six and a half.

"No Rose, I'm serious." Suddenly I was smack with something I couldn't see. More of a feeling that wasn't my own. It seemed to be an awe of… myself. And for some reason I knew Lissa was truly serious. She scurried to her feet, telling me that we needed to go before we missed breakfast. I ran out to room at that response.

I was extremely glad that Lissa knew where she was going, clearly finding the short cut to the dinning hall. I might as well take Mr. Belikov up on that offer for a tour around St. Vlad's. The corridor that we were in seemed familiar enough as Lissa slowed down to walk beside me. "What are you thinking?" My guess was that she was wondering why I had slowed down.

"Just thought of how easy it is to get lost here with a wrong turn and that I might take up Mr. Belikov's offer for a complete see new places around campus." I spoke without realising what I had said.

"Oh, you mean Dimitri." She said casually. Waving her hand around as if she were calling up something. Dimitri, that was his first name. Huh.

"His name is Dimitri? Why don't you call him Mr. Belikov?" I asked, wondering if she knew him personally. She smiled back at me as we continued into the dining hall.

"They told you that there are certain people that get guardians after they graduate right?" I nodded. "Well, when Dimitri was assigned at this academy, he was promised to be my guardian when I graduate. Its kind of like he calls me Lissa instead of Vasilissa and I call him Dimitri. Same goes for Alberta. She only has certain people call her that." When she saw the shocked look on my face, she continued but I cut her off.

"So, you have a special ability too?" Still starstruck to find out Dimitris first name. It suited him well.

Lissa stopped in her tracks as she gripped my arm. It wasn't rough but it was secure. "We'll talk more after school okay, drop it for now. Not everyone knows about the special abilities here." She looked to her left and right as if someone were listening in on our conversation, it was as if she was being paranoid. I nodded to make her feel better. I had this urge to protect her. To not let anything to happen to her.

I had finished both my first and second block and was more than ready for my combat class. I was ready to get some frustration out on anyone willing to spare with me. I quickly got changed and was beyond happy that this class was fifteen minutes longer than any other class I had in my schedule. It given me enough time to change and get warmed up before Dimitri came in the gym.

"Right class," he spoke as he strolled towards the front by punching bags. "We have a new student as you may already know. She's knew to the combat class but not to some of the training that we do. Is anyone warmed up to have a spare with her?" I gave him a hard look, not wanting to get my butt thrown at me. Not the first fight of the class anyway. Where everyone was watching.

The room was quiet for a few minutes before a taller teen boy with messy red hair stepped forward. "Ah Mr. Ashford. Very well." He motioned us to follow him to the centre of mats, "Right, let's have a rundown of the rules for everyone knows." From that, Dimitri stepped aside as for everyone else.

Mason spoke up, "Don't go a 100% of your power," He started circling me as he spoke. I picked up every small thing he done, putting a step towards me. "Respect your training partners," he did a fake jab towards my left side. I leaned back, prepared for his next move. Still looking around me, preparing a attack from anywhere. I could feel my wolf taking over with preparedness. "Be aware of your surroundings." He was sounding cocky in his words. He did another fake jab towards the same side. "No head jabs without protective gear on," all of a sudden, I felt someone jump towards the back of me, I circle around the invader towards his back as I shoved him forward into the red-haired boy. He caught himself just in time before he face planted into the teen. He spun around as he lunged for me, only grabbing my forearms as he pulled me towards him. I spun my arms around without much success. His grip was too tight, still keeping my eyes looking everywhere in case there was another surprise attack. I could feel the memories of that night coming back as I tried to put them behind me. I heated up momentary before cooling back down as I smiled towards my attacker, feeling cocky myself. I brought my arms out to bring my attacker closer towards me before I lifted my leg up, pulling my leg around his and bring it back towards me as my attacker fell towards the ground without letting go of my arms I collapsed on top of him – which I had expected him to do, snapping my arms across each other, loosening the grip my attacker had on me. I only needed a moment before I scurred fully on top of him, pinning him to the ground. He nodded as an acknowledgement that he lost. I looked towards my other attacker, sizing him up as he waited for me to get to my feet. It only taken a moment. This time he waits without lunging at me. I still scanned every movement he taken, "Also Rose," he spoke in between dodging my jabs. "Ego doesn't belong inside of sparring."

"Speak for yourself Ashford." I smirked. This time he made his move which was the wrong one. Still prepared that it was a fact jab. I wait for him come towards me. He come at me, and I was stunned only a moment. Before turning around him, evading him like I done his partner. My other attacker. He spun around quicker than the first. Lunging for me again, brough his arm out to strike my arm but I twisted my arm around his – locking it in place. He dropped his full weight on me as I slammed towards the ground, the breath inside me escaping. I used all of my weight to twist our bodies, he wasn't strong enough to keep me pinned as I flipped him over, covering his body with mine as I pinned him for the time allotted for victory.

I heard clapping around me as I stood up. Ashford gotten to his feet, and I looked around to see my other attack was already standing closer to Dimitri. I turned towards my instructor who had a small smile on his lips. I smiled back towards him, seeing how proud he was, the look in his eyes. He turned towards the class as he cleared his throat. I noticed he does that a lot; did he just do it when I was around. Deciding that I would keep my eye out to find out. "Well done everyone. There are some improvements that need to be done," he started as he looked towards Ashford and the other as they were standing right next to each other. Ashford had his arm around the other as they nodded towards Dimitri. "As you saw from Rose, she kept her eyes open for any attack from any position in this building." He complimented me, "but Rose don't use that cockiness when sparing Castile. It wont always work in your favour, you need to stay on your feet and not get taken to the ground." Motioning towards Ashford, "good job on showing Rose with being taken to the ground." With the final compliments and telling us what we had done wrong, he sent everyone off to do what they done last class on Friday. Which was practicing getting out of a certain hold.

Dimitri waltz towards me in a slow stride. Time seemed to slow as he walked towards me. I could feel me breathing hitch as I gasped out, captivated by his body in his outfit. A black vest undershirt, with black work out pants. I could see he was lean, well built with a muscular physique. He was a god and here I was awestruck by him. "How are you feeling Rose?" He asked. He broke me from my awestruck state. Shaking my head, a bit I looked up towards him before we started to walk towards the side of the room.

"I'm doing well," I exhaled "For a moment there I thought I had lost it." I stated clearly. Surprised by my candour to him.

He brought his hands behind him; I was starting to think that he done that cause he didn't know where to put them. "I saw that." He spoke finally. "You handled it well enough though." He was quiet for a moment, "what goes through your mind when that happens?" He asked, I stopped dead in my tracks. Not knowing what to say to him.

"I uh," I stammered out. Feeling my hands go sweaty. "There's different things that go through my mind." Being vague, but not knowing what else to say to him.

"I saw the heat up happening when Castile had a hold of you, what went through your mind then?"

I spoke silently to not draw attention that I knew some people were watching us. "My wolf thought I was in trouble, it started to take over there. Sometimes that's all it is, kind of like a safety mechanism." I finished explaining, not looking at Dimitri completely.

He nodded without saying anything else as he pushed me slightly towards Castile and Ashford.
