As promised, I showed up at Dimitri's class at the end of the day. Before reaching the door, I pull the piece of paper - that I had found in my locker this morning - out of my pocket and having a read over it again:

"I know what you are,

You will not survive if you stay here.

This is the only warning you will be receiving."

I crumpled it, shoving it into my pocket before swinging the door of the classroom open. "Mr. Belikov," Sweeping my eyes over the classroom before speaking again, the door closing behind me. "I grace you with my present in helping you with your grading." I chuckled at that. I look towards him as I could see the mask he had on fracturing. Oh, come on! I seriously wanted to see that smile.

Pulling up a chair to the side of his desk to sit down in. Before I could even fully sit down, Dimitri is whisking me up and telling me that he had other plans. A little confused, I stood. Ready to bee line for the door. Getting ready to slap my own face with embarrassment. "I'm sorry Rose, I have a meeting off campus to get to. It's kind of last minute." That sure is an understatement. Nodding, I started walking towards the door, both disappointed and relieved that I don't have to grade papers.

"No need for apology Mr. Belikov." I could feel my walls going back up, as if they weren't crumbled already. "I'll see you tomorrow." I waved off before leaving his classroom. He called for me, but I pretended like I didn't hear him. I didn't want to show the childish emotions that washed over me. Once reaching the courtyard, I pulled my phone out of my pocket. Blanking on who to call, I didn't want to call my mother or father. Yet I only had my friends from back in Vermont numbers in my phone. Cursing myself as locked my phone, stalking off towards my dorm.

Rapping my hands on the door, I waited for her to appear. I had a gut feeling that she was on the other side of the door. Pulling the door, she opened with a shocked expression. She had her hair up out of her face, a pencil above her ear, a simply blue top with khaki capri pants.

"Care for a girl's night?" I whispered as she furiously nodded.

…..

I didn't see Dimitri that night, let alone the gym. I had fallen asleep with Lissa, as we talked all night. I quietly go up, pattering around before waking up Lissa. Telling her to leave the things she brought, and I'll bring them back to campus tonight.

"Just leave them here, we can make this our little hang out." She waved at me before leaving the cabin. I shake my head once she closed the door. I wasn't sure if it was actually allowed for me to bring her, but I was upset that Dimitri bailed on me yesterday and I wanted to hang out with Lissa without the extra company that is Christian, Adrain and Sydney. Part of me wanted to have her to myself but I knew that was selfish of me. Throughout the whole night, I kept having strange feelings flow through me. Even though they weren't coming from me.

Shaken from the strange thoughts, I hurried back to my dorm room to grab my gym bag and head to the gym before school starts this morning. I doubted Dimitri would show up this morning since she seemed to be a bit distracted.

I reached my room and the gym in good time, there was no one in sight and I had over an hour to get in some good work outs. I warmed up on the side of the track before setting off for a three-mile run. It was an easier one this morning, wanting to focus more on the work outs instead of just running. I had chosen to set up my phone to play through the stereo system. It had started playing the playlist I had save to my phone as I got to running.

No one seemed to disturb me through my running, for once since coming to this school. Which only got me to start thinking, turning down avenues that I should ultimately move on from. I felt myself sweating, going down my body as my feet hit the track. Pushing passed each step. I was one my last lap, finishing out strong.

I moved on towards the equipment to start some reps and continue on my work out. There seemed to be an unlimited amount of Exercising gear here. It still seemed to shock me that they had a course for becoming a bodyguard.

I finished out my workout without anyone disturbing me from the tasks I was setting out. I heard a ringing that came from across the room that I knew only to be my mother calling. I jogged towards the noise and grabbed my phone. Quickly answering it before it went to voicemail. "Hello."

There wasn't much that I could say to her, the only thing that I would be happy to hear is that they were getting Jesse out of this place so I could be truly safe here. With him here, there was no reason for me to be staying here and not going back to Vermont. Where my life was.

"Hello Rosemarie." She spoke, rolling my eyes I replied towards her. "Theres some news that I would like to tell you about, its not much but I thought you would like to know." She was being cryptic.

"And that may be?" I asked.

I could hear her take a large breath before speaking. "Well Jesse," I cut her off.

"He needs to go Janine." I state, "he isn't welcome here." I continue as if it mattered. This wasn't my home. "No one is safe while he's here." I whispered. I could feel something behind me.

"And I'm working on that. Don't doubt me, Rose." She was using her stern, motherly voice. "I'm still convincing your father and the school that he should go back to Vermont." I felt my hormones take over.

"Yeah, and by the time that happens someone else will get hurt. I better go to Kirova and speak to her, that'll surely get him kicked out of this place."

"Now, now Rose." A masculine voice, that froze me in my spot. Where originally, I was pacing a small distance. I refused to turn around. To give him the satisfaction of fear that appeared to be rolling off my skin.

"Rose, answer me." I was my voice coming through now. It was too late though. I was in too deep. I couldn't control the fear that was spreading through my veins. My blood was boiling, past the point of cooling down. I looked towards my hands, and they were changing. I heard growling that I pegged as my own. "Get out!" I rose my voice to warn him. To have him leave before I rip him apart with my bare hands and my teeth. "Now!" Turning to see Jesse, backing away slowly. Turning my full body towards him, head step was agonising. The pain shot through me, escaping as air pushes through when cracking your fingers.

I felt my wolf howling before I could stop it coming out. "Rose, I d- don't know w-whats going on." Jesse stuttered. Good, he needed to be scared. He needed to know what it feels like to be scared. "What's happening Rose." He gotten out. Gasping as he was backing up.

Crouching over, bones cracking, changing. My wolf had taken over at this point. I was no longer there…

….

Dimitri's POV:

I woke, feeling my bones cracking all over. I was feeling the workout I put myself through last night. It was rough and vigorous. I didn't see Rose at the gym which I hoped she was finally able get some sleep. She seemed to be up to the challenge of becoming a guardian. I didn't have any doubts that she would become a great one yet. But with how this world is, to have a novice – one that hasn't been in training much through her life. I doubt that the teachers would pass her through to become a guardian once she graduates.

Normally novices have been training since grade school. That's how Mr. Ashford and Castile have been raised. They were taught from the best of the best at the academy. I still think its nowhere near as vigorous as the academy I went to in Russia. I chuckled to my self at the thought.

Shaking from my thoughts I jump out of bed to get dressed in my work out clothes. I was wanting to get to the gym before I head to class. I didn't have a full schedule but in the time when I don't have a class, I was outsourced to the fence or the hallways. Except this morning, I had free to do with as I pleased until I am to go to class.

Packing my bag for my day clothes before running out the door. I didn't waste anytime to get to the gym. Guardians and novice's room in the same dorm building close to the gyms. While the other students and teachers stay on the other side of campus. Not to even mention the grade schoolers that are behind their dorms.

I taken my strides in fully, making good time to reach the gym. "Belikov!" I hear myself being called ahead of me. Taking a harsh breath out, I look towards the person calling me. It was Ashford. I could feel my face scrunching up in confusion from him not going by my title. Guardian, that is what I am to them. As they will be once they graduate.

"Yes, Mr. Ashford." I eye him up and down, feeling an urgency from him that set my mind on edge. He was never the one to get worried like this, always the happy go lucky novice in my guardian and English class.

He waved for me to follow him, picking up his step. "Come on! There's an emergency in the gym." His voice was strain, full of panic. I doubled my pace, quickly passing his strides – easily. Mentally ticking him for not being quicker but pushing behind as I prepare myself for what's through the next door. I could hear faint screams from the other side of the door.

Cursing quietly in Russian, for not grabbing any of my protective gear. I couldn't do anything about it now, I needed to defuse the problem in the gym at the moment. Bracing myself for everything that can happen, I open the door slowly. Stopping only a few inches as I take in what I'm able to see. Not much, only some boy on the ground. I turned to signal Ashford to be quiet and to take the left side as I take the side. Hopefully catching the other off guard with myself for Ashford to subdue the threat. He nods once as an understanding. He didn't have any protective gear either so we must take safety as number one concern. For both us and our threat.

Slowly I push the door open for my body to come through, holding it open for Ashford to come through behind me. I was grateful that he was taught to be quiet as he snuck in. Shaking my head to take away the thought of what he would do to go to party in other dorms.

Turning towards the threat, I stopped in my tracks. Momentary hesitating, forgetting my own damn rule. Don't hesitate. Ever.

Gripping my pants leg quickly before gathering myself. I glance towards Ashford whom is already halfway around the room. Looking back towards the threat, instantly relieved that they hadn't notice. I hold up a hand, quietly signalling Ashford to stop. To wait for my signal. He nods once. At attention, waiting for my next move. I slowly walk towards the scene in front of me. There is Jesse frozen as he laid on the ground, still pleading to be let go. Smirking at the thought of Jesse being scared for once. A wolf – from my memory of the picture in her profile, I know to be Rose in her wolf form. Not some animal that had gotten on campus. She had changed, she wasn't able to control of her wolf. Snapping my head back to Jesse, feeling an emotion that was a lot like rage spike up. What had he done to her that she had lost control? The last time I caught them in this room, she was able to control the wolf from the inside.

I reached where Jesses head was, without spooking either Jesse or Rose. I signal for Ashford to come closer but to keep his distance. My other handheld up to Rose as a surrender. I wasn't going to hurt her in anyway. Rose had stopped her stride, yet she still was growling towards Jesse. Her gaze whipped between him and I. Debating which is more of a threat. I made my way to the front of Jesse, still slow to show my intentions. I gritted out "get out of here Zeklo's." Without repeating myself, "don't go far, I will be grabbing you." I finished my instructions as he got to his feet and ran from the gym. Rose had taken this opportunity to lunge towards him, snapping at him. I jumped where she went towards. Not letting her see him, only me. I gave Ashford a signal to back down, Rose saw that this time and turned her attention towards him. Growling, a howl braking out as she started taking painfully slow steps towards him. I called for her, she can attack me, but Mason needed to be safe.

Calling her again, she was still striding towards Ashford. "Damn it Rose!" I break out, hurrying to put myself in front of Mason. She halted. Good. I walked towards her, intending to bring distance from us and Ashford.

I try to carouse her into cooling down, calming down. Remembering the list, she had given me the first day I had met her. I had committed it to memory. The explanations she had given me, there wasn't anything explained for when she had already changed into her wolf and to calm her that way. I decided to speak calm nothings into the air. Wishing her to calm, I knew I needed to place my hands on her, to show her I was no threat. I spoke that to her, that I wasn't the enemy, I wasn't going to hurt her. Her growls quieted, but she still was standing off from both me and Ashford. I waved him to go further back to the wall. I continued my whispers to her, only loud enough for her ears. Repeating to her that I wasn't there to hurt her and I'm on her side. I stepped towards her, inching closer.

Until I'm standing in front of her, I drop to my knees right at her paws. Eying her so she knows that I am not submitting to her but showing her that I am on her level. She takes a half step back as she bowed her head towards me. I taken the opportunity to lift my hand to place it on her head. She let out a sharp bark but still had her head bowed. I ran my hands through the mane, feeling the softness of her hair as I stretched my fingers over and over again.

Before my very eyes, I could see her changing. I could see the pain in her eyes as her body shifts and turns back into the human that she is.

Mason broken the silences one she was back in human form, "I cant believe its Rose."
