Year: 1998
3 years later in the Pride Lands, Simba and Nala now have another child, a male cub named Kion, who is gifted with a power called the Roar Of The Elders, and so Kion is the leader of a group called the Lion Guard to defend the Pride Lands and the Circle Of Life, the group consisted of Kion's 4 friends Fuli, Beshte, Ono, and Bunga.
One day they were doing their daily patrol of the Pride Lands, when they were unknowingly walking straight towards Commander McCoy and 40 of his men who were preforming a marching drill. Once Commander McCoy spotted the Lion Guard, he ordered his men to stop marching. The Lion Guard then spotted the small army and also stopped walking. "These guys look like bad news, so I don't think we should let our guard down." Kion said to his friends. Commander McCoy and all of his men then loaded their rifles pointing them at the Lion Guard. "Alright that's it, let's get them! Said Kion. "Till the Pride Lands end, LION GUARD DEFEND!" Shouted all of the animals.
Commander McCoy's army started releasing an onslaught of bullets heading for the Lion Guard, but they managed to dodge every last one of them. Kion then eventually felt the time was right for him to use the Roar, and that's what he did. The massive roar caused all the bullets to shoot right back at the soldiers, and they all got hit while being shot back about 10 feet away. Commander McCoy quickly got back onto his feet and was absolutely terrified by the unnaturally massive roar. He immediately ordered a retreat, and he and what was left of his men all ran away.
12 soldiers lay dead on the ground, and the Lion Guard started heading back to Pride Rock to tell Simba and Nala about their encounter. Back at the secret ARO base which was garrisoned in the Out Lands, Commander McCoy came to the realization that the Pride Landers now knew about the ARO's existence and that they had to do something fast if the movement was ever going to survive. It was now or never, so they quickly planned one big massive invasion of the Pride Lands. When Osha attacked the Pride Lands, it only used a small fraction of it's true military might, the ARO was gonna use everything it had.
The plan was put into action just 3 days later in the middle of the afternoon, and just as Commander McCoy had expected the Lion Guard to do, they had told Simba and Nala about the ARO and a bunch of animals were waiting right in front of Pride Rock. All 5000 men just stood there in front of the animals, and they all kept running the plan through their heads. First they would surround the Lion Guard on all sides and wipe them out, next they would make their way to Pride Rock and kill the royal family, capturing Pride Rock in the process, and finally they would close in on all that was left on the animals until they finally lose hope and surrender.
"It's your choice humans, you can either surrender or fight! Now what will it be!?" Asked Kion. Commander McCoy looked at all of his men and then back at the animals. "NUTS!" Shouted Commander McCoy at the top of his lungs. Then on Simba's mark the animals attacked, and a huge blood shedding battle broke out, and it was 10 times crazier and bloodier then the one that happened years earlier with Osha.
The first two parts of the ARO's plan were carried out immediately. One section of the army began surrounding the Lion Guard, and another began making their way to Pride Rock, the rest of the army then dealt with the rest of the attacking animals. The second section of the army managed to plow their way to Pride Rock, a young general named Richard Biggs made his way up the rock and he saw Simba and Nala just watching the battle not noticing him approaching.
General Biggs had lost his rifle while getting to Pride Rock, and so he took out his machete. He attempted to slash the royal couple but kept missing, and eventually Simba and Nala were able to push General Biggs off of the edge and land back first onto a large rock, his spine snapped in half on impact, and it instantly killed him.
The army then set Pride Rock on fire. Simba and Nala just barely managed to escape, and when they did they began fighting alongside their subjects. Meanwhile the Lion Guard was being attacked on all sides by soldiers young and old. Bunga kept clawing at the men managing to kill some of them while wounding the others, Beshte was plowing through attacking soldiers with his snout, and Fuli was out running a lot of the soldiers making them really dizzy. Ono was keeping his distance by staying up high in the sky watching for any oncoming soldiers, Ono was shot at a couple times, but it was hard to hit him because of how small he was.
By the time sunset came around, the battle was still going strong, and casualties were in the thousands. The army was unable to overpower the Lion Guard, and so they were forced to retreat to a meadow where they reorganized. The soldiers started digging 5 rows of trenches, and a trench warfare like fight began. The animals sent wave after wave into the trenches attempting to overpower the soldiers inside. It took at least 25 minutes for the animals to overrun the first trench, 88 soldiers were killed and the remainder of them retreated to the second trench which was just 5 feet behind the first one.
Apparently unknown to the army, the animals actually had a strategy of their own, the subjects would overrun the trenches so they could clear the way for the Lion Guard to get to Commander McCoy, who was hiding out in a custom made bunker made out of rocks and mud behind all of the trenches for protection.
The animal's strategy proved to be very effective. Once the forth trench was overrun, Commander McCoy realized all hope of winning the battle was lost, and ordered a full retreat of all remaining men.
Once Commander McCoy and what was left of his army finally made it back to the ARO Base in the Out Lands, the men were completely decimated. Out of the 5000 men that enlisted into the ARO's grand army, only 700 returned with over half of them being wounded. A total of 4300 soldiers died in the vicious battle.
Commander McCoy saw the condition of his army, but he refused to give up on the movement. He saw this as the beginning of the Great Pride Lands War. He conscripted another 5000 men into the army, and began their training immediately. Commander McCoy and his generals then began drawing out plans for another attack on the Pride Lands.
But since the army had been crippled by the last failed attack, Commander McCoy decided it would be best to make much smaller attacks which would require less men and resources, then with time, the army would build up it's strength, and defeat the Pride Lands.
Unfortunately for now, all Commander McCoy could do, was wait.
