Here's chapter 4
Chapter 4
Jinjing and Shifu lead Po to the Training Hall, Po was speechless as he sees the Five combating the various deadly stages of the courses.
"Let's begin," Shifu said as Jinjing close the doors.
"Wait, wait, wait! What? Now?" Po asked.
"Yes, now," Jinjing said.
"Unless you think that the great Oogway was wrong, and you are not the Dragon Warrior," Shifu said.
"Oh okay, I don't know if I can do all of those moves," Po said pointing at the courses.
"Well, if we don't try, Po. We'll never know," Jinjing said, walking with her uncle and Po follows them.
"Uh yeah. It's just— maybe we can find something more suited to my level,"
"And what level is that?" The red pandas said.
"Well, you know. I'm not a master, but uh, let's start at zero. Level zero,"
Jinjing laughed a little bit. "There's no such thing as level zero,"
"Maybe I can start with that," Po points and runs to the dummy.
"That? We use that for training children. And for propping the door open when it's hot. But if you insist," Jinjing said. The Five gathered around Po.
"Woah. The Furious Five. You're so much bigger than your action figures. Except for you, Mantis. You're about the same," Po said. Mantis's antenna twitches as he glares at the panda.
"Go ahead, Po. Show us what you can do," Jinjing said. The Five watches him as Po hesitates.
"Um, are they going to watch. Or should I just wait until they get back to work or something?" Po said.
"Hit it," Shifu said.
"Okay, I mean I just ate, so I'm still digesting. So my Kung Fu might not be as good as later on…" Po stalls.
"Just hit it,"
"Alright," Po turns to the dummy. "Whatcha got? You got nothin' 'cause I got it here. You picking on my friends?" Then, he begins dancing. "Get ready to feel the thunder. I'm comin' at him with my crazy feet. Whatcha gonna do about my crazy feet? I'm a blur. I'm a blur. You never seen a bear style, you only seen praying Mantis OR… I could come at you Monkey style," Po said making monkey sounds. Monkey raises his eyebrows. "OR… I'm comin' at ya snickety snake," Shifu was losing patience.
"Would you hit it?!" Po stops dancing.
"Alright… Alright," he said. Po hesitates hits the dummy very lightly with his fist. It rocks back in place.
"Why don't you try again? A little harder this time," Jinjing said. Po hits the dummy all the way backwards.
"How's tha—" WHACK! The dummy rights itself and whacks Po, knocking a tooth out and sending Po flying backwards. Jinjing and the Five instinctively step forward to help Po, but Shifu holds his paw up to stop them.
"Uncle Shifu," Jinjing protested. Po struggles to balance on the Seven Swinging Clubs of Instant Oblivion and he eventually ends up doing a painful split on two of the serpent logs.
"Ow! Oh, that hurts!" Po looks up and sees a spiky tethered ball, which hits Po flying to the Jade Tortoise of Wisdom, where it rattles him around. The Five and Jinjing wince while Shifu looks with a smile.
"This'll be easier than I thought," he said.
"Uncle Shifu," Jinjing said looking at her uncle.
"Feeling a little nauseous," Po said as he stumbles to the Gauntlet of Wooden Warriors, proceed to whack every part of Po's body.
"Ow, those are hard! Ooh! I think I—" Then, the last dummy arm whack Po where the sun doesn't shine and everything became still. "Oooohoohoo… My tenders," He gets on his feet, takes one step, reaches to a dummy arm, and he immediately gets pummeled all over again. Po comes out to the other side and finds himself standing on the Field of Fiery Death.
"Uh oh," Po gets burned as he yells.
After a while, Po comes crawling into flame, dazed, and charred with the little tuft on his head on fire.
"How did I do?" Po said.
"There is now a level zero," Shifu said as he puts the little with his fingers.
*KFP*
Later that night, Jinjing couldn't sleep so she decided to go to the peach tree. There she found Po standing there. Oogway approaches with a glowing lantern.
"I see that you found the Sacred Peach Tree of Heavenly Wisdom," Oogway said. Po turns around, his arm is full of peaches and his mouth is equally stuffed. He drops the peaches.
"Is that what this is? I am so sorry. I thought that it was just a regular peach tree," Po said.
"I understand. You eat when you are upset,"
"Upset? I'm not upset. What makes you think that I'm upset?" Po said as he spits out the remaining peaches.
"So why are you upset?" Oogway asked.
"Please don't lie to me and Oogway, Po," Jinjing said.
Po sighed. The panda knows that Jinjing's right, there's no point in lying. "I probably sucked more today than anyone in the history of Kung Fu. And the history of China, in the history of sucking,"
"Probably," Oogway said.
"And the Five, man. You should have seen them, they totally hate me,"
"Totally,"
"How is Shifu gonna turn me into the Dragon Warrior? I mean, I'm not like the Five and Jinjing. I've got no claws, no wings, no venom. Even Mantis has those thingies. Maybe I should quit and go back to making noodles," Po said sitting down. Oogway and Jinjing look at the panda for a moment.
"Quit, don't quit. Noodles, don't noodles. You are too concerned with what was and what will be. There's a saying: Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift. That is why it is called the present," Oogway said hitting the tree with his staff as he walks away. A peach falls into Po's open paw. Jinjing sits down next to the panda.
"So, what are you doing up?" Po asked.
"I couldn't sleep," Jinjing replied.
"Why not?"
"Well, I can't sleep because I was thinking about my mother. You see, she's my Uncle Shifu's sister. She was a nurse at the children's hospital here in the valley. Yue (A/N), a friend of my mother's help her took of care of me until 20 years ago my mother was murdered. I was 4," Jinjing explained.
"I'm sorry," Po said.
"Thank you. It's really hard on me, uncle Shifu, and Yue. Uncle Shifu and Yue told me that I almost look like her every day. I come down to the village once a month to go visit my mom's grave and see Yue, she's like an aunt to me since I was born,"
"Was it like living here?"
"In the Jade Palace?" Po nodded
"It's good. I lived there after my mom died. My uncle took really care of me, as my mother did. Master Oogway is like the grandfather I wish I have and he treats me like a granddaughter. When I was 11 years old, I learned Kung Fu and I have read the scrolls that are in the Hall of Warriors,"
"Really? That's cool," Po said.
"Yeah, it's also cool to have an uncle who's Kung Fu master," Jinjing said.
"You know, Jinjing, it's really nice talking to you,"
"It really was. Thanks for listening, Po. I really needed someone to talk to other than my uncle and the Five. Don't get me wrong, the Five are like my family and I love my uncle,"
"No problem. Hey, if you need to talk or a shoulder to cry on. I'm here,"
"Thanks, Po. Good night," Jinjing said walking to the student barracks.
"Good night," Po said.
