bookwormbelle91: Thank you! Yes, Tai Lung killed Dongmei. As I wrote chapter 6, it was heartbreaking for me to write the end of it and I was nearly in tears. We will see Shifu and the Five's reaction to how Jinjing tells them that she knows.

Chapter 7
Later, Jinjing, Shifu, and Po return from the mountains, entering the palace courtyard. Po has a spring in his step.
"You have done well, Po. I'm proud of you," Jinjing said hugging him and Po hugged her back.
"Thanks. I've done awesome!" Po said as he swings his belly and knocks Shifu off balance, though he quickly regains his dignity.
"The mask of a true hero is humility. But yes… you have done… awesome," Shifu said playfully punches Po in the side enough for him to stagger. Shifu, Jinjing, and Po chuckled. Then, they hear an approaching flapping sound. A figure appears in the clouds behind them. It was Crane.
"Huh?" Crane carried the Five to the palace grounds, crashing in a heap. The rest of the Five are scattered in the middle of the courtyard. Shifu is speechless. Jinjing gasped.
"Guys? Guys! They're dead?! No, they're breathing! They're asleep?! No, their eyes are open…" Po said dropping his backpack and runs over to them.
"We were no match… for his nerve attack," Crane said out of breath.
"He has gotten stronger," Jinjing said presses some pressure points on Mantis's chest, freeing him.
"Who? Tai Lung? Stronger?" Po said. Shifu stars freeing Monkey while Po leans over them. Monkey releases suddenly from his paralysis… and he accidentally punches Po's head.
"He's too fast! Sorry, Po," Monkey said. Jinjing freed Tigress. She revives with a gasp.
"I thought we could stop him," Tigress said.
"He could have killed you," Jinjing said.
"Why didn't he?" Mantis asked.
"So you could come back and strike fear into our hearts but it won't work," Shifu said while freeing Viper.
"Uh, it might… I mean, a little. I'm pretty scared," Po said.
"You can defeat him, Po," Jinjing said.
"Are you kidding? If they can't. They're five masters. I'm just one me,"
'But you will have the one thing that no one else does," Shifu said.
*KFP*
Inside the Hall of Warriors, Po stares at Shifu and Jinjing… then looks up at the Dragon Scroll. Then back at the red pandas.
"You really… believe that I'm ready?" Po asked.
"You are… Po," Shifu said. Jinjing nodded her head in agreement. Shifu carries Oogway's staff over to the Moon Pool. He bows his head, then, eyes still closed, he raises the staff up above his head. Po, Jinjing, and the Five watched, expectantly. Then Shifu whirls the staff. The peach blossom petals rise in a flickering, spinning cloud up from the pool. The gentle tornado rises up from the ceiling carving that holds the scroll. The petals loosen the scroll from the dragon's mouth and it falls. At the last second, Shifu reaches out with the staff to catch the scroll on the end of it. He turns to Po, holding it out.
"Behold. The Dragon Scroll… It is yours," Shifu said. Po hesitates when he reaches for the scroll.
"Wait… What happens when I read it?" Po asked.
"No one knows, but legends says you will be able to hear a butterfly's wing-beat,"
"Whoa! Really? That's cool,"
"Yes. And see light in the deepest cave. You will feel the universe in motion around you," Jinjing said.
Po gets overexcited. "Wow! Can I punch through walls? Can I do a quadruple backflip? Will I have invisibility—"
"Focus," Shifu said.
"Po, focus," Jinjing said.
"Huh? Oh, yeah… yeah," Po said.
"Read it, Po, and fulfill your destiny. Read it and become… the Dragon Warrior," Shifu said.
"Whooaa!" Po said taking the scroll. Then he grasps the tube and tries to pull the top off. "It's impossible to open. Come on, baby. Come on now…" He tries to bite it off. Jinjing holds out her paw. Po passes the scroll to her. Jinjing pops the end off effortlessly and passes it back to Po.
"Thank you," Po said.
"You're welcome," Jinjing said.
"I probably loosened it up for you though… Okay, here goes," Po unrolls the scroll, the golden light bathing on his face. As Po finishes opening the scroll.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!" Po screamed. Jinjing, Shifu, and the Five are startled.
"It's blank!" Po said.
"What?!" Jinjing and Shifu said.
Po tries to show the red pandas the scroll. "Here! Look!"
"No! I am forbidden to look upon…" Shifu said. Then he takes the scroll from Po. He turns it around, then upside down. He closes it and opens it again, astonished with Jinjing looking over his shoulder.
"Blank? I don't… I don't understand," Shifu said.
"I don't understand either. There should be something in the scroll. I know it," Jinjing said.
"Okay. So like, Oogway… was just a crazy old turtle after all?" Po asked.
"No. Oogway was wiser than us all," Shifu said.
"Oh, come on! Face it. He picked me by accident. Of course, I'm not the Dragon Warrior. Who am I kidding?" Po said sitting on the floor. Jinjing walked to him, putting her hand on Po's arm, comforting him.
"But who will stop Tai Lung?" Tigress asked.
"He will destroy everything… and everyone," Crane said. Shifu puts the scroll back in its container and seals it. He looks oddly calm as he turns around.
"No. Evacuate the village. You must protect the villagers from Tai Lung's rage," Shifu said handing the scroll back to Po.
"Like no one was able to protect my mom from Tai Lung like the last time?" Jinjing asked.
The Five stared at her, in shock. "What?"
"She figured it out," Po said.
"How did you know?" Shifu asked.
"Po helped me figure it out. I know what happened to my mom," Jinjing said.
"Jinjing, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you. Oogway and I didn't tell you because you were very young and you wouldn't understand what happened to her. We were going to tell you when you're 18, but with Tai Lung escaping from prison and Oogway died, it all changed,"
"It's okay. I understand (A/N 1),"
"What about you, Master?" Tigress asked.
"I will fight him,"
"What?" Po and Jinjing said.
"I can hold him off long enough for everyone to escape,"
"But, Shifu, he'll kill you," Po said.
"He's right, Uncle Shifu," Jinjing said.
"Then I will finally pay for my mistake," Shifu said.
"I'll stay with you," Jinjing said with tears welling up in her eyes.
"No. Jinjing, I've lost your mother, my sister. I won't lose you too. I promised her that I would keep you safe and I'm keeping that promise to her," Jinjing walked to her uncle in tears and hugged her uncle, sobbing (A/N 2).
"It's going to be alright," Shifu said softly to his niece. The red pandas pulled away from their hug and Jinjing walked to Tigress.
"Listen to me, all of you. It is time for you to continue your journey without me. I am very proud to have been your master," Shifu said saluting them. Po, Jinjing, and the Five salute back. Po and Jinjing are heartbroken as Shifu turns away. Crane steps forward and kindly puts a wing around Po, pulling away. Po resists for a moment, then leaves with the Five and Jinjing.
*KFP*
At night, Jinjing and the Five arrive at the base of the stairs, where the villagers are already scurrying to get out of the valley.
"We've got to get them out safely," Jinjing said.
"Come, little one. Let's find your mama," Monkey said holding a small child.
"Viper, gather the southern farmers. Mantis, the north. Crane, light the way," Tigress said passing the lantern to Crane; they split up and begin helping the villagers evacuate. Jinjing makes her way through the town and she approaches Yue's home.
"Hey, Yue,"
"Oh, Jinjing!" Yue said rushes over to hug her friend's daughter and Jinjing hugged back. They pulled away. Jinjing helped Yue pull the cart full of belongings and they both left the house, possibly forever.
"So, how are you?" Yue asked.
"Honestly, I'm not okay. Tai Lung escaped from prison, then Oogway died, and now I found out that Tai Lung killed my mom," Jinjing said.
"Wait. How did you know?"
"Po, the Dragon Warrior helped me figure it out,"
"Oh. I see. Now you know why Shifu didn't tell you,"
"I understand why he didn't tell me. The worst part is that Uncle Shifu stayed behind to fight Tai Lung," Yue looked at the young female red panda.
"What?"
"Yeah. Po and I told him that he'll kill him and I told him that I'll stay with him,"
"Jinjing, he kept a promise to your mother that he'll protect you,"
"I know, Yue. But, I can't just leave him behind, he's the only family I got left (A/N 3),"
"So, what are going to do?"
"First, I'm gonna take staff," Jinjing said grabbing the staff.
"What? Not the staff!" Yue said. Jinjing put the staff back.
Yue saw Jinjing running back to the Jade Palace. "Where are you going?!"
"I'm going back (A/N 4)!"
"Be careful!" Yue said. She's so stubborn like her mother. She thought while shaking her head.
Author's Note 1: This is an inspiration of where Belle told her father that she knows what happened to her mom in Disney's Beauty and the Beast (2017)
Author's Note 2: This is an inspiration of the scene from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 (spoiler alert) where Harry said goodbye to his friends (Ron and Hermione) before going to the Forbidden Forest to sacrifice himself to Voldemort
Author's Note 3: This line "He's the only family I got left" is from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Author's Note 4: This scene is an inspiration from Disney's The Lion King (1994)
