Chapter 3: USJ incident. Villains uprising!
Satoshi, Serena, and Izuku have gotten through the first week in U.A. High School. Many things have happened to them and they have learned a lot about the curriculum and their classmates. U.A. continues to challenge them in their academics as well as in their Hero courses, informing them of the important things to know about the life of being a Pro Hero. How will they progress in their studies?
Let the Chapter begin…
Following the events of the Last Chapter:
Izuku was dumbfounded as he never received this level of support in the past, however, there was one thing on his mind, and that was confronting Katsuki.
He noticed that his childhood friend was missing from the classroom.
"Where did Kacchan go? I need to talk to him," Izuku asked.
The group stared at him before Ochaco decided to speak up.
"He left not too long ago, he was very silent during the whole day, and it seemed like he was troubled."
After hearing what Ochaco said, Izuku broke into a spring, determined to catch up with his rival and childhood 'friend'.
(The same evening, with Eijiro and some 1-A students)
The tiring day of Hero basic training ended with Ups and Downs. Some students felt like they needed to get some rest, others had too much energy, and needed to do something about it. It was then that a decision was made between some members of Class 1-A.
A group comprised of Satoshi, Serena, Ochaco, Tenya, Eijiro, Tsuyu, Kyoka, Mina, Rikido, Denki, Mezo, Hanta, Minoru, and Mashirao ventured to the training field outside of the campus, the same one where they held their
"Your quirk lets you harden your skin to act as a human shield?" Serena asked Eijiro as the group of students were thinking about a suitable training exercise.
"Yep, it makes me super tough!" Eijiro boasted, "I can endure an unbelievable amount of punishment, but I'm still a long way away from perfecting it."
"My quirk empowers me as I consume sugar" Rikido said, "it's also a power-up quirk, but I generally use it for the offensive capabilities compared to Eijiro's defensive capabilities."
"So more than half of the guys here are close-range fighters." Denki pointed out as the group shifted their attention to him, "there's Rikido, Eijiro, Mezo, and Mashirao. This excludes me, Minoru, and Hanta, who can fight with range, Satoshi who can fight both close and long ranges, and Tenya who relies on his speed for burst attacks."
"And the girls here are mostly long-range like Serena, Mina, and Kyoka. Ochaco has great mobility with her quirk but needs to touch someone to use her quirk, and I am a speedy ranged fighter." Tsuyu added.
"That shouldn't be hard to divide then," Mezo stated, "Denki, Yuga, Hanta, and Tenya will join the girls for some long-range target practice. The rest of the guys will stay together."
"Agreed. So all the girls, alongside Denki, Yuga, and Hanta will take turns trying to hit Tenya, Ochaco, and Tsu with their attacks, while the three of them will dodge using their superior mobility." Kyoka said.
"The rest of the guys will do a boxing-ring style fighting exercise with each other. I think their focus should be mostly on their close-quarter combat and ability to dodge and take strong hits, thus making a good mix of offense and defense." Hanta added.
The group agreed on the suggested training practices and proceeded to divide amongst themselves, working together to strengthen their quirk usage.
"All right guys! Let's do our best!" Satoshi encouraged the aspiring heroes who continued on their journey to achieve their dreams.
(In a quiet, small part of Kamino Ward, Yokohama City)
An empty building stood amidst a busy street, its features screamed business and economic presence, as it wore the look of the usual office complex. One would think that this building is being used to great effect, however, during the busy day and the waning nights, no lights nor movement can be found within its halls. Yet the busy flow of work and relative unattractive quality of this area appeared out of the police's radar. There was no need for them to be here patrolling and monitoring because nothing needed them to be stationed here.
This is why that building is exactly the place that a villain would choose for their activities. A man just 20 years of age, with his pale skin and white hair, would agree with that statement. The man is called Shigaraki. He sat over at the abandoned bar in the building, reading the newspaper while the TV was playing. His dry eyes are filled with red with hands covering his entire upper body as he stared intensely into the newspaper.
"Hey, Kurogiri," Shigaraki started, attracting the attention of his comrade and a beast on standby, "what do you think would happen to the Pro Hero society if we defeated and killed the 'Symbol of Peace'?"
"It would most likely crumble, and they would all run for their lives like little rats from a hungry cat." Kurogiri, a man shrouded with mist, answered nonchalantly as he turned his body in earnest, meeting the man's gaze. His body was engulfed by a purple mist as he displayed on his face what one could only think is a sinister smile.
"I agree, and that's exactly what we will accomplish." Shigaraki laughed menacingly as he put down the newspaper, revealing a picture of the current 'Symbol of Peace' flashing his trademark smile.
Shigaraki and Kurogiri gestured for the beast to follow them, they walked out of their hideout and teleported to a warehouse, presumably on the other side of town.
There a crowd was gathering, among those who were present are street thugs, murderers, looters, and many others. They are all criminals, and all who have gathered have evaded the pursuit of the police force or have escaped from prison.
"Welcome, all of you to our humble little hideout," Shigaraki said as he addressed the gathering masses.
Wearing angry yet eager faces, the group has gathered here for one reason, and one reason alone.
"Revenge. That is what we seek," Shigaraki said, "you have answered my call and presented yourself here. And why did you all come here? Well, you have come here because, like me, you too are tired of the labels thrust upon you forcefully by those who would seek our demise in the society we live in. Am I right?"
The group answered adamantly with acknowledgment as well as showing their approval through hollers and chants.
"This will be no more, my brothers and sisters, we will bring the fights to those who are unfairly, and wrongfully called 'Heroes'. They hunt us, they judge us and they condemn us," Shigaraki exclaimed, "they would have us locked up and scrutinized because our views and our actions are different from theirs and because we would not hold back in the usage of our abilities and the fulfilling of our desires as we realize our potential."
"We will not stay silent any longer, we will not let them get away with their delusions of grandeur," Shigaraki proposed, "we will kill their precious 'Symbol of Peace' and then, we will kill them all. Once All Might lies dead at our feet, none will dare stand between us and the life we desire. The hierarchy in our society must change once and for all if we wish to stop the persecution. I welcome you all to this first and glorious step. May we find great success and shatter those who would oppress us."
Shigaraki ended his speech as the crowd that gathered cheered, clapped, and whistled. They now have a newfound purpose, and they intend to unleash hell on those heroes who would hunt them and persecute them.
(A few days later)
Outside the main gate of U.A. High School, Shigaraki observed in the shadows as a swarm of reporters gathered from across the country to question the school about the recruitment of All Might as a teacher. Aizawa was among the teachers they were trying to question, but like the ones before him, Aizawa refused to provide an answer and just walked into the school grounds.
Frustrated at Aizawa's indifferent expression, one reporter tried to push the issue by following him into the school grounds. However, she was surprised to find a strong barrier known as the U.A. Barrier drop to block her way.
Shigaraki looked on with curiosity as he had an idea for a plan.
Time to get this thing going. He thought.
(With the students in the 1-A classroom)
"You know, those training sessions were great last week, I think it goes with saying that we all benefited greatly from them," Eijiro said.
"You guys were training? What kind of training did you do?" Izuku asked curiously.
"On Friday and Saturday, we have been taking turns improving our quirks through specialized training sessions." Satoshi explained, "we would discuss the best way for us to handle pairing based on our abilities, and we would go at it for a few hours."
"Yeah, for example, two days ago, Kyoka was on the offensive and I was defending myself," Denki added, "she would try to hit me with her long-range attacks, while I would dodge them."
"Yesterday, Denki would be the one attacking me while I tried to dodge." Tsuyu said, "we'd rotate and so everyone got to know each other's quirks and provide feedback so we could help each other grow."
"Yeah it's been fun and rewarding," Ochaco exclaimed.
"Right? I learned some new things I could do with my quirk." Hanta said.
"Me too! My moves are more controlled and precise." Mina said.
Wow, while I was healing and resting up, everyone was moving forward and improving. I'm already so far behind, I need to catch up quickly. Izuku thought.
"Okay, quiet down now everyone," Aizawa instructed as he walked through the door. Class 1-A were ready for their new day of classes as they listened carefully, "there will be a few important sections of the curriculum that need to be completed within the next few hours. It is in your best interest to remain focused in class and would be beneficial to remain vigilant at all other times."
The students listened carefully as they all produced a singular thought. Must be a very important topic in the hero course.
"For starters, you will be choosing class representatives today," Aizawa announced.
Wow! A normal classroom task for our class. Was the collective thought of the students.
"I don't care how you guys manage the details of this task, just reach a decision before the next class," Aizawa advised, "which by the way, is in 10 minutes."
With that he crawled into his yellow sleeping bag and decided to take a nap, earning the sweat drop of the entire 1-A class.
"So how are we going to decide this?" Satoshi started, "we can't just all jump the gun at this task."
"I agree," Ochaco said, "let's make this about the best option for the class."
"Okay but this is not just a matter of choosing someone to represent the class," Momo said, "did you not know that taking on these roles is hugely beneficial to us in getting scouted by Hero agencies?"
The class went silent in contemplation as the words of Momo rang true in their ears.
"Let's just do a vote, everyone should write their votes on a card and place them into a raffle box." Tenya Iida suggested, which everyone agreed to and started preparing for. Momo created a raffle box and make 22 cards for everyone, Hanta Sero gave her some tape so she could put everything together and when all was ready Momo distributed the cards to the class and they got to voting.
A few minutes later, 2 class representatives have been elected. Standing in front of the class is none other than Izuku Midoriya as the class representative with 5 votes and Momo Yaoyorozu as the deputy representative with 4 votes.
"HOW DID THE DAMN NERD GET ELECTED AS THE CLASS REPRESENTATIVE? WHO VOTED FOR HIM HUH?!" Katsuki complained as he was most displeased with the result of the vote.
"Chill out Katsuki, it's not like anyone in this class was going to vote for you anyway." Fumikage Tokoyami stated as the class joined him in snickering.
"HUH?! WHAT DID YOU SAY BIRD BRAIN? YOU WANNA DIE?" Katsuki retorted back.
"Shut up Katsuki," Toru Hagakure replied, "you're acting like such a big baby."
"Honestly though, what an uninspiring display." Mezo Shoji chimed in.
"Yeah who wants to elect a class representative who has temper tantrums constantly like an unsatisfied 5-year-old," Minoru added.
The class collectively shook their head at Katsuki's childish tendencies, their comments all loud and clear as Katsuki remained silent, taking in their commentary, he huffed then placed his head on the table, refusing to engage in conversation with them anymore.
Satoshi and Serena were quite amused while Izuku just sweat-dropped at the sight of Katsuki being yelled at.
(With All Might on the phone)
"Absolutely not Toshi! You know my attitude towards an agency. I have never been interested in starting one," a voice cried out on the phone as All Might was desperately trying to negotiate a collaboration, "besides, you're a Hero course teacher in U.A. now, you can't afford to divide your attention and spread your responsibilities."
"Gran Torino, my wonderful and respectable teacher, please just hear me out. I have found someone to inherit One For All," All Might explained, "he has the spirit of a hero and shows great promise. But I can't do much for him in my injured state and he needs to expose himself to the right environment to learn about the fundamentals of a Hero when working in the field."
"If it's just him, then why don't you just send him my way and I can train him alone." Gran Torino stated.
"That was the original plan. But I have something else that will interest you," All Might interjects, "remember when I was younger, and I studied the history of quirks with you?"
"You were quite the young rascal, but go on." Gran Torino motioned as his interest was being piqued.
"Remember the quirk from ancient times that was thought to draw power through an individual's life force? And that the energy levels varied from one person to another?" All Might asked, "And it was thought by many that this quirk had been lost? I think it was called Aura Manipulation."
"Ah yes, that quirk was legendary. It is one of the ancient quirks," Gran Torino stated, "what of it?"
"After finding my successor, I have also stumbled upon a teenager with that quirk," All Might replied, "and from what I can tell, he too holds great potential. I have asked Recovery girl to do a secret test on him, and what we found was that his energy levels were the highest I have ever seen in my life, though they are still under-developed. His quirk has the potential to be a great one, especially if he knows how to use it well."
"And you want me to know this why?" Gran Torino huffed as he was beginning to understand what All Might is asking of him.
"I need you to train those two for some time." All Might requested.
"Are you seriously asking me to babysit your two prodigies?" Gran Torino asked with raised eyebrows.
"Please Teacher, know that I do not ask this of you lightly, but I have a feeling that they need your guidance, just as I did. Both their quirks function as enhancements towards their natural strength and speed. Though One For All holds a lot of power, my successor does not yet know how to control it properly, so he injures himself badly when he tries to use it," All Might said, "this other boy's quirk strains his body more than he realizes, and the stronger he gets, the more he will feel its suffocating effects on him. They will both need to find ways to safely use their quirks without tearing their bodies apart, and they will need this training. You are the only person that I know that can offer this wisdom to them."
"Yeah sure, just butter me up you sly fox. Fine, you make a compelling case. But what of this Hero agency business? How will I be recruiting followers? As you know, I am not as well known as you are in the Pro Hero scene." Gran Torino stated.
"Leave that to me, teacher, I will make an appearance on behalf of this agency this weekend," All Might responded, "we have 2-3 weeks to find enough members to form this agency. The U.A. sports festival ends around that time, if we are ready by then, then this can be a great place to start."
"Will the agency be under your name or my name?" Gran Torino asked.
"That will be your choice, my dear teacher, and if you want to, you may use my name for recruitment purposes. Though I think that the heroes and sidekicks who join the agency deserve to know the true reason behind the formation." All Might responded.
"Yes, I know this of course. The other Heroes are oblivious to the incoming danger, but I have heard it. There have been whispers of his return," Gran Torino started.
"You can't be serious!" All Might gasped as he clenched his fist, "after all his time, he decides to return now? We must not allow our society to fall into more chaos after what he did last time."
"I agree, I have learned much from my time undercover," Gran Torino stated, "our enemy is on the move. His agents are gathering, and it seems like this time he has a successor. Just as you have sought out one, he too is planning for the future."
"This is exactly why I need your help, these two teenagers may be our best chance at stopping them." All Might said.
"The future generation is important Toshi, but you are placing way too much confidence in these students rather than your colleagues." Gran Torino chuckled.
"It's not that I have no faith in my colleagues, everyone I know is extraordinary. But these students have no desire for glory, which makes them the ones with the most potential to be good successors," All Might said, "the boy with the unique Aura quirk has already helped me in the field. As well as my successor, they know no fear and will challenge my instruction in favor of saving others, because they understand the true responsibilities of being a Hero."
"Sounds a lot like you when you were younger, are you sure you're doing this because you see something in them, or they remind you of yourself when you see them?" Gran Torino asked.
All Might took a moment to consider that question. It was a tough one
"Maybe, I would be lying if I said I didn't see myself in them. But I also see great potential in them, teacher," All Might responded, "I know that they can soar to great heights and I want to help them get there. I need your help to do that, will you consider it?"
Gran Torino took a few moments to think about the proposal that All Might had placed forward, there were a few moments of silence between the two of them before Gran Torino began speaking into the phone again.
"Sorry about the pause Toshi, I had to think about this. I need to be sure that this is the final decision from you. This move may well backfire, and they may soon become a target just like you." Gran Torino said as he tried to caution his former student.
"Teacher, they will always be targets. As the Symbol of Peace, I know this better than anyone. It is the destiny of every Hero to be a target, after all, it's part of the job," All Might responded with a faint smile, "everything that we have discussed today is for their sake. One For All is fading in my body and slowly flowing into my successor. He, and his friend, are the ones who need to be protected."
"There's just no talking you out of it huh? Fine then Toshi, I'll help you set up this agency," Gran Torino sighed as he rubbed his head, "send me all of the paperwork that you have prepared for this, it's time to get the new agency ready for your prodigies."
"You have my unending thanks, teacher, I know that I can count on you." All Might said as they both hung up the phone.
All Might walked towards his desk and searched for the agency paperwork, he organized them into a neat pile and placed them in a small stack. His eyes were drawn to an earlier edition of the local newspaper.
The title of the newspaper read "No.1 Hero, All Might, disbands Hero Agency in the United States of America and returns to Japan."
(In the U.A. cafeteria)
"Honestly, I still have no idea how I, of all people, was chosen to be the class representative," Izuku sighed as he was talking towards a table with Satoshi, Serena, and Ochaco, "there are so many people in our class who would deserve this position more than I did."
"You gotta be more confident in yourself Deku! You're a wonderful inspiration to all of us here," Ochaco encouraged as she smiled at Izuku.
"Yeah, Ochaco thinks you're a cool person for placing all her confidence in you, I do too, I think you will make a great class representative." Serena pointed out with a smirk.
"Wh-what makes you say that Serena?" Ochaco stuttered as she shook her head in denial, earning the sweat-drop from the rest of the group. Satoshi and Serena laughed as they seem to have found Ochaco's weak spot.
"Okay you guys, stop teasing Ochaco." Izuku scolded as the group found an empty table. They sat down and began to eat their food.
(Outside U.A. High School)
"Hey!" One of the reporters said to the others, "do you smell that?"
"It smells kinda nasty, seems like something has been burnt!" Another reporter pointed out.
"It's coming from over there, we should go check it out, it could be good reporting material." one of the reporters suggested.
Some of the reporters agreed but many more were hesitant. But when they saw the other reporters moving eagerly, they decided to follow them. The group moved towards the source of the smell and were surprised to find a hole in the U.A. wall. They were hit with the realization that an opportunity has presented itself, they could now enter the inner parts of the high school and get the scoop on All Might.
"Do you think we should enter the premise?" One of the reporters asked.
The reporters exchanged confused glances as they hesitated to enter the premise at first, but as reporters, it was their job to get scoops for their stories, and since they wanted a comment from All Might, they decided to enter the high school grounds after a brief moment of discussion.
Shigaraki looked on as the crowd went into the school grounds before stepping out of the shadows.
Looks like the distraction is working out pretty well. He thought.
"Kurogiri, it's time to get to work," Shigaraki said as he and his partner moved slowly into the school grounds.
(With the group in the Cafeteria)
"So Satoshi, who did you vote for to be the Class Representative?" Serena asked, "I voted for you."
"I voted for Izuku," Satoshi responded as Serena pouted, "what?! I thought that it was a good chance for Izuku to take advantage of this opportunity."
"You know I'm just messing with you," Serena laughed as she slapped Satoshi lightly on the shoulders, "I'm sure Izuku would love to have that opportunity."
"Ah, I see you guys are chipper as always," Tenya chuckled as he sat down with the group and exchanged greetings, "I have to admit I am quite bummed for not getting the position or any votes for that matter. But I am happy for you Midoriya, I voted for you and got none myself."
"You know, I'm surprised that you voted for Deku, I thought that you would have liked to be the class representative yourself, Tenya." Ochaco pointed out.
"Yes you are correct, Uraraka, I would have liked to," Tenya said, "but I am also unable to argue with the results of my suggestion. Besides, Midoriya's courage, determination, and judgment in certain situations are good enough for him to be suitable for this task. I merely did what I thought was right."
"You know, I've been wondering," Serena said after a pause, "you've been talking in a very formal manner lately."
"Now that you mentioned it, Serena. You do use a very unusual set of vocabulary when you speak Tenya," Satoshi added.
"Are you, by any chance a child from a rich family?" Serena asked.
They were greeted with silence as Tenya's facial expression grew tenser and tenser by the minute.
"Urghh, I tried to change the way I speak to avoid this situation." Tenya sighed, he smiled as he adjusted his glasses and turned to face the eager and curious expressions of his friends.
"My family is from a long line of Heroes," Tenya explained, "my parents were both heroes, and so I am aspiring to be one too."
"That's so cool!" Ochaco exclaimed as the others also offered excited glances.
"By the way, do any of you know the Turbo Hero, Ingenium?" Tenya asked.
"I know who he is, gathering data on heroes is a big hobby of mine. He's famous and is a well-known Hero in Tokyo. He has his agency with over 60 members." Izuku replied.
"Why am I not surprised that he knows this," Serena laughed as the group let out a light chuckle.
"Yep, and he is my older brother," Tenya explained.
"Wow?" Satoshi said, his eyes wide with surprise.
"That's so amazing!" Ochaco added.
"Yeah, I admire him quite a bit actually, he is a great role model to the people around him. Of course, he is a great inspiration for me," Tenya added, "he follows the rules and always tries to lead others by example."
"Sounds like a wonderful brother to have and to look up to," Serena said as she turned towards Ochaco, "So Ochaco," she asked, "Why did you want to be a hero?"
"Oh, me?" Ochaco panicked as she didn't know what to say, "you want to know my story?"
"Yeah, of course, I think I speak for all of us when I say we're interested in your story, it could be a great one, you know," Izuku said nervously as he scratched the back of his head.
Smooth, Izuku, smooth. Satoshi thought as he was sensing a fabulous pair in the making.
"Well, I'm trying to be a hero for financial reasons," Ochaco responded slowly, "my family is not very wealthy, unlike Tenyas or Momos. The construction company my parents own has been doing poorly in recent years, not only that but the equipment needed for the construction costs a lot of money. So, you know, I was hoping-"
"-hoping your quirk could help them offset the cost of the equipment?" Serena interjected as Satoshi immediately karate chopped her slightly on the head, "Owww Satoshi. What was that for?"
"Don't interrupt her when she's telling her story." Satoshi scolded as Serena huffed in frustration and turned towards Ochaco.
"Sorry about that," Serena muttered.
"It's okay, anyway, that's about it." Ochaco said, "unlike you guys, it's a lame reason to be a hero."
"I don't think that's a lame reason at all," Tenya said.
"I for one think it's a very real reason to want to help your family and their business," Satoshi said.
"Yeah, I agree with Satoshi and Iida." Izuku added, "we're all trying our best here Uraraka, and you know, it's very smart to be looking towards the future, I'm sure your parents will be very proud that you are trying to help them."
"I hope so," Ochaco said as she smiled faintly.
RING RING
"This is a level 3 security protocol. All students must evacuate from the cafeteria right away, there has been a breach on the school grounds!" The emergency alarm bell rang as the radio announced.
The cafeteria quickly shifted to a state of chaos as the students were all stampeding out into the hallways to get to the safety of their classrooms.
In the middle of the chaos, Satoshi was separated from the group. The crowd in front of him was getting rowdy, which made it impossible for him to catch up to them. With this in mind, he decided that his best course of action was to check on the situation.
Turning the other way and running as fast as he could, Satoshi moved around the school, trying to locate the source of the problem.
(With Izuku, Tenya, Ochaco, and Serena in the hallways)
"Guys, everyone's trampling across one other," Izuku called out.
"We should grab onto each other before we get lost," Serena suggested.
The group nodded in agreement as they linked their arms to keep themselves from separating. Izuku blushed slightly at the fact that he was linking arms with both Ochaco and Serena, but he quickly dismissed the thought and focused on the fact that it was more important for him to be clearheaded about their current predicament than flustered with useless emotion.
"We need to think of something quickly before someone gets hurt," Tenya stated.
"Let's move toward the windows, maybe we can get a good look and see what's going on outside," Ochaco suggested as the group moved steadily towards the edge of the crowd. When they finally arrived, they all looked around, trying to find anything that can help them understand the situation.
"Wait I can see a whole host of reporters outside." Izuku said, "and it's just news reporters."
"Then we need to tell everyone about this and get them all to calm down," Ochaco said.
"How are we going to do that? We can't just yell at them, everyone is panicking already." Serena asked.
"I have an idea," Tenya said, "Uraraka, I need you to use your quirk on me and push me towards the door."
"Are you sure Iida?" Ochaco asked.
"Just trust me, this is the only way, now do it." Tenya cried out.
Ochaco gave him a nod as she activated her quirk, Zero Gravity. She used it on Tenya and pushed him towards the door in front of them, he floated quickly towards it and grabbed onto it, standing on top of it.
Taking a deep breath, Tenya formulated the words he needed to say and hollered to the crowd.
"E-everybody please calm down!" the crowd stopped as they looked at him.
"It's just a few new reporters on the school grounds, please do not panic, this is a false alarm. We are students of the prestigious U.A. High School, we need to act gracefully and with proper etiquette, please do not hurt each other and move with caution."
Izuku, Ochaco, Serena, and the rest of the students watched on with admiration as the crowd calmed down gradually. The students moved slower and slower as everyone reached the proper walking speed. Very soon, the halls were empty and all the students of class 1-A were in their classrooms.
All the students, except for one raven-haired teen.
(Meanwhile with Aizawa, Present Mic, and a whole squad of Reporters)
"Please give us a comment about All Might teaching here!"
"We just want a few words about him, we want nothing more!"
"We've been here for days and days, please give us any kind of response!"
Present Mic and Aizawa looked on with annoyance as they were bombarded with questions.
"If we give you any information about All Might, you'll just want more and more. That's how this always works, so please just leave us alone." Aizawa answered coldly as he dismissed the numerous questions asked by the reporters.
The media frowned at the reality of that answer but they refused to back down, Aizawa and Present Mic were frustrated at their stubbornness and continued to refuse an answer. They just stood there, blocking the media's advance.
"You know, these reporters are trespassing on our school grounds, which technically makes them villains," Present Mic suggested, "We should just kick their butts and force them out of here."
"Stop this, Mic, they'll just end up writing unfavorable stories about you," Aizawa stated, "for now, we should just keep quiet and wait for the police to show up."
(With Satoshi)
Satoshi had left the building a while ago, the unease building up as he edged closer to a target he knows nothing about. He was close to an opening when in the distance he saw a hole in the U.A wall and 2 figures attempting to leave the school grounds.
"Hey, what the hell do you think you're doing?" Satoshi hollered as he tried to stop the 2 figures from leaving, they turned around and eyed the incoming student fiercely.
"We have things to do kid," Shigaraki responded as they continued walking, "and we want no trouble, with you, or with the school, so leave us alone if you know what's good for you."
They walked closer to the hole but their path was blocked as Satoshi hurled two energy orbs toward them, grabbing their attention.
"I won't ask again," Satoshi threatened, "why are you two on our campus?"
Shigaraki looked back and faced Satoshi.
"You throw one of those orbs at me again you little brat, and I'll melt your face off," Shigaraki warned.
"You can try, but you're on my turf, villain," Satoshi taunted, "so I'm the one who calls the shots here."
"We'll see about that, don't say I didn't want you," Shigaraki said as he ran towards Satoshi.
Satoshi smirked as he quickly jumped out of the way and landed nearby.
"You're way too slow to do anything to me," the raven-haired teen taunted as he raised his hands, releasing two energy orbs into the air. The energy orbs erupted in an attempt to draw the attention of the faculty.
"Now you have nowhere to run. so you'll have to tangle with me for a bit," Satoshi taunted as he conjured an energy blade in both of his hands, "come, show me how a cowardly villain fights."
"Tch. Gloat in this temporary victory little brat, This isn't over. Kurogiri, teleport us out of here, we can't afford to cause a commotion," Shigaraki ordered as he cursed mentally, returning to his companion.
A teleportation quirk? That's not good at all. "Hey, you two aren't going anywhere," Satoshi yelled as he ran towards them and charged up to two more spheres. He hurled them towards the trespassing duo and the orbs collided with them, but the teleportation process had already begun.
"That was quite the power in that attack kid. You got guts, I'll give you that much," Kurogiri stated as he successfully teleported the duo away before Satoshi could reach them.
Satoshi punched the ground, frustrated that he was too slow. He didn't stay to sulk as there was only one thing that he could do now. He ran towards the hole in the barrier and decided to examine it. After seeing nothing alarming, he produced a thought in his head.
I need to tell the faculty members about what I just learned here. They'll know the right thing to do with this information.
(With Aizawa and Present Mic)
The police soon arrived and escorted the crowd of reporters off the U.A. school grounds. Thankful that this was over, Aizawa and Present Mic were greeted by Principal Nezu, Recovery girl, and 2 other faculty members.
"Do any of you have an idea of how they managed to get in through the barrier?" Nezu asked.
"I have no idea, this may not be an easy question to answer." Present Mic replied.
"Principal Nezu, Mr. Aizawa, Present Mic!"
Nezu, Aizawa, Present Mic, and the rest of the faculty members turned around to find Satoshi running toward them. When he arrived, he took a moment to collect himself and lifted his face.
"I found something on the barrier, follow me, there's been a breach." Satoshi panted.
"Show us the location of this breach at once, Ketchum," Aizawa instructed Satoshi as the latter lead them towards the hole he discovered earlier.
"Over here, it looks like it's either been melted or completely disintegrated. Or both," Satoshi explained.
"Who could have done this? Is it the work of the press?" Recovery girl pondered.
"Ordinary members of the press are not capable of doing this," Aizawa stated.
"You are quite right, Aizawa," Nezu added, "someone has instigated this series of events to cover their tracks. This could very well be a challenge to the members of the U.A. community, and could even be seen as a declaration of war."
A declaration of war? Was it from those two people that I saw earlier? Satoshi thought as he felt a chill down his spine as he processed those words.
"Ketchum, you did good," Nezu said, "Aizawa, we must go to the faculty meeting, we need to have a serious conversation about this with everyone."
(With Shigaraki, and Kurogiri at the abandoned Warehouse)
"Ladies and gentlemen, my brothers and sisters," Shigaraki said as he grabbed the attention of the group, "I am delighted to announce that we have some important revelations to present to you."
He addressed a large number of people, many of which were wanted criminals that were rejected by society due to their misconduct. They all wore vengeful expressions as they were ready to enact justice against the society that ostracizes them.
"We have found a perfect opportunity to enact our plan for revenge on the Hero society. Now, all we need is for you all to step up and take your place in our ranks," Shigaraki continued.
"The time for our revenge has come! Those who wish to be in the forefront of this glory, please, follow us through the portal, for we enter the field of battle, and the halls of victory." Shigaraki exclaimed as Kurogiri opened up a portal. The villains entered the portal and were teleported to an unknown location.
(With Class 1-A in their classroom)
"So I think Tenya is a natural-born leader, he was the one who managed to calm everyone down and made sure that no one got hurt during the panic," Izuku announced, "in light of this knowledge, I nominate Tenya Iida to be the representative of class 1-A."
The majority of the students agreed as they all clapped for Tenya Iida. Tenya was surprised, but he quickly walked up to the front of the classroom and approached Midoriya.
"Are you sure about this, Midoriya?" Tenya asked with a serious expression. Izuku responded with a nod as he patted Tenya on the shoulder and returned to his seat.
"Well, thanks to the recommendation from Midoriya, I will gladly accept the position of class representative. I promise not to disappoint him and everyone else." Tenya said as he bowed in front of the class.
Satoshi meanwhile had just returned to the classroom, as the first thing he saw as he entered the room was Tenya bowing to the rest of the class, he was at a loss for what was happening.
"Uhh, what is going on here guys?" Satoshi asked.
Tenya informed Satoshi of what had just transpired and Satoshi took note of it. He went back to his seat after being caught up and placed his head on the table. The uneasiness he felt from earlier had disappeared for a brief moment, but he just couldn't shake the image and the words of the faculty members in his head as he processed his findings.
"Are you doing okay Satoshi? You seem very... out of it." Eijiro asked.
"I'm fine Eijiro. Just been running around and thinking about something." Satoshi responded quickly without showing his face to Eijiro, not wanting to alarm his classmates or cause any suspicion to circulate to him.
"What did you guys think about the uproar from earlier?" Mina asked.
"I'm more concerned about how reporters managed to bypass the U.A. Barrier," Minoru said as he shifted the point of concern.
"Well, to be honest, I don't think that those reporters could have done this." Rikido Sato said.
"If that's the case then who could have if not the reporters, none of us saw anyone else," Denki said.
"If you think about it, most of us were in the halls during the panic." Tsuyu pointed out before turning to look at Satoshi, and most of the class followed as they shifted their gaze toward Satoshi.
"What now?!" Satoshi asked as he was getting uneasy with all the attention given to him by his classmates.
"Where have you been all this time Satoshi?" Serena asked with a serious expression.
"I..." Satoshi struggled as he had to come up with a good excuse.
(Flashback)
"You may return to the classroom now, but do not say a word about this incident to your classmates, I will bear that responsibility of this revelation. Now go, I will be right there after the meeting." Aizawa instructed.
Satoshi nodded as he walked away, but he was stopped by one of the cloth bands of Aizawa.
"Ketchum, I need you to promise me." Aizawa repeated seriously, "not a single word to your classmates. Not. A. Single. Word."
"I promise, Mr. Aizawa, not a single word," Satoshi responded with a stern look on his face.
Aizawa allowed him to leave and sighed.
There's something that he's not telling me. He thought.
(Flashback Ends)
"Well, I felt odd so I went to check around, but nothing fruitful came out of my investigation," Satoshi responded, trying his best not to sound suspicious, "I decided to come back here before Mr. Aizawa did so I wouldn't be in any trouble."
"Well, you'd be glad to know that the trespassers were only reporters," Tenya said.
"That's... great news." Satoshi sighed a breath of relief.
"Satoshi, you're not hiding something right?" Ochaco asked, "if you have something to say, please tell us, we were all very worried about this."
"Well, I-" Satoshi started but was interrupted by Aizawa walking into the classroom.
Thank God Mr. Aizawa showed up. Satoshi thought.
"Be quiet now, all of you." Aizawa instructed, "in light of recent events, the school has deemed it appropriate that the teachers move the curriculum forward and increase the amount of experience you need to gain as aspiring heroes. With this decision, we will expose you all to more, unconventional, teaching methods."
"Although this was one of the plans in the curriculum that I was originally against, we will carry it out nevertheless to follow through with the school's decisions," Aizawa continued, "as a result, we will be conducting rescue and quirk management training in a facility on campus."
The students murmured and whispered to each other in confusion and excitement as Aizawa once again called out for their attention.
"Though the facility is on campus, it is still far away enough that we have to travel by bus. Now, you will put on your Hero costumes for this training assignment, you have 15 minutes to meet me at the bus waiting for you all at the designated bus stop." Aizawa instructed.
Everyone packed up their stuff and proceeded to leave the room, but as the room cleared out, Aizawa called for Satoshi to stay behind.
"Ketchum, I need to talk to you. Now," Aizawa said.
Serena looked towards Satoshi and tightened her grip on his hand, he gave her a nod and waved at her, leaving quickly.
"You're not telling me something, I can feel your tension."Aizawa stated, "it is important that you tell me the whole story of what you've seen, for the sake of the entire U.A. student population."
"There isn't much more to tell than what you already know," Satoshi explained, he was trying not to say too much as he was aware of eavesdroppers nearby.
Aizawa looked around and observed a similar phenomenon, he motioned Satoshi to come to the office. Serena, Izuku, and Ochaco were slightly disappointed at the turn of events in the corner of the hall. Sighing greatly, they decided it was best to just leave it and go change.
(15 minutes later)
The class was busy in their preparation for their first big collaboration exercise, they were expressive and showed much excitement in their conversations as they traveled to the rendezvous point. Aizawa and Satoshi were already there waiting for them when they arrived.
"Izuku, where is your Hero costume?" Satoshi asked as he approached her friend.
"Oh, it got torn up in the battle trial." Izuku explained, "so I'm getting it fixed. Meanwhile, I'll be wearing the sports uniform for this exercise."
"Hey, nice to see you Satoshi." Tenya greeted as he was walking alongside Serena.
The group said their hellos as Tenya quickly moved to get everyone onto the bus.
"Damn, I never thought that the format of the bus was different from my expectations," Tenya sweat-dropped as he covered his face with his hands, "I am so embarrassed."
"I'm sure it's nothing, U.A. often does the unconventional anyways," Rikido said.
"Yeah. I'm sure it's no problem." Izuku said.
"So anyway, how do you all think this is going to go?" Mezo asked.
"I think it can be a mixture of different routines that we undergo to rescue people," Yuga Aoyama pondered.
"I don't care about any of that, I just want to beat up something," Katsuki interjected.
Of course, you'd want that, Kacchan. Izuku thought.
"So anyway, what do you guys feel about this, seems cool right?" Toru Hagakure asked.
"I'm just glad to be able to show the usefulness of my quirk," Hanta stated.
"Speaking of quirks," Tsuyu said as she turned towards Izuku, "Midoriya, I'm going to be very blunt here, but your quirk functions similarly to All Might's."
The bus was silent momentarily at Tsuyu's statement.
"What do you mean?" Izuku asked nervously, trying his best not to act too suspicious about the sensitive topic.
"Hold on, I don't quite think they're the same," Eijiro interjected, "All Might doesn't hurt himself when he uses his quirk, even though accumulation is the theme for both their quirks."
Satoshi and Izuku were relieved and mentally thanked Eijiro for his timely and unintentional intervention.
"I know you've seen this before, but my quirk essentially hardens my body," Eijiro took this opportunity to show Izuku his quirk, "it's a great quirk, but I wish it had a bigger wow factor."
"I think your quirk can be a great one for a Pro Hero." Serena praised.
"You think so?" Eijiro said, "though I have to admit, Katsuki, Shoto, and Satoshi's quirks are perfect to have as future Pro Heroes. They got the wow factor and the strength to go far with them."
"My quirk has the cool factor and the power to it." Yuga chimed in.
"It looks great, but if you keep getting stomach aches, how will you be able to use it properly in long, extended situations?" Mina asked as Yuga's facial expression grew tense from the harsh reality check.
"Well, perhaps Satoshi and Shoto can do well with popularity in the future. Katsuki, however, has a really bad temper, which is probably not good enough for him to gain a popular fan base, you know, since he gets angry way too easily." Minoru pointed out.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY, YOU PURPLE SHORT BASTARD? YOU WANNA DIE HUH?" Katsuki yelled as he felt deeply insulted by the truthful comment.
The rest of the bus sweat-dropped as they have to endure yet another one of his temper tantrums.
"See?" Mineta pointed at Katsuki.
"As Minoru was saying," Tsuyu echoed, "Katsuki proved his point all too easily."
"HEY SAY THAT AGAIN AND I'LL BEAT YOU UP." Katsuki hollered.
"Katsuki, shut up before I put you in your place. Again." Satoshi threatened.
"You know, it's quite amusing how in the short amount of time we got to know you, which has only been a week, you've managed to cause 3 temper tantrums and start fights every single day," Denki scoffed, "everybody here knows your temper is just straight hot garbage. You need to work on that, for your own sake."
"What a disgraceful turn for this conversation," Momo muttered as her seatmate, Ochaco was smiling and laughing as she was thoroughly enjoying this conversation.
"Anyway, thanks guys for thinking that my quirk may pass up as a good one for a Pro Hero, but it's not that special," Satoshi smiled, "Serena's the one with the cool one, her quirk packs much more of a wow factor than mine."
"Oh shut it Satobean." Serena huffed, "everyone knows yours is way more useful than mine."
"S-Satobean?" Izuku repeated curiously.
"Oh yeah, that's her nickname for me when we are alone or when she is flustered." Satoshi explained as he turned towards Serena, "alright Serena, no need to look so embarrassed. It was an honest compliment."
"So I've been wondering for a while now..." Rikido asked, "are you two dating?"
Satoshi and Serena looked at him and at the rest of the class, who were all sporting eager looks on their faces.
"Wait, what do you mean?" Satoshi said, "is it not obvious?" He was met with silence as he facepalmed.
"Well of course we are dating," Serena sighed, "how have you guys not picked up on that yet?"
"So how long have you guys been dating?" Mezo asked.
"Well, we have been childhood friends since the age of 4, and have known each other for most of our lives, but we only started dating 2 years ago," Serena explained as the group gave them both nods, taking in this information.
"Alright, quiet down students, we have arrived at the training grounds," Aizawa instructed as the bus came to an eventual halt.
Class 1-A students left the bus and stood in front of the large dome building. They were greeted by Thirteen, one of the faculty members of U.A. High School.
"Oh my gosh, it's Thirteen!" Ochaco exclaimed as the rest of the students joined in with excited and happy noises upon meeting the Pro Hero.
"All right students, it's nice to see you too," Thirteen instructed, "now, please follow me."
The students Aizawa and Thirteen entered the dome, and they were soon greeted with a wondrous sight of what seemed to be a large theme park.
"Woah, this place looks very similar to Disneyland." Izuku pointed out.
"Or like the Universal Studios of Japan." Denki proposed an alternative.
"Well, this place is filled with the recipe for disaster," Aizawa informed the class as he walked in front of them alongside Thirteen.
"Where is All Might?" the students asked.
"He is unable to make it since he has other emergencies to attend to." Aizawa said, "he will be back to teach you all tomorrow."
"Moving on, there are different layouts in this facility for circumstances that happen as accidents," Thirteen continued, "as heroes, we have to ensure that we are never too slow to react to those who need our assistance. It is our job as teachers to train you and ensure that you are aware of what needs to be done."
"Now, you will each split up into groups of 3-4 people, then you will go to different facilities to train on search and rescue operations." Aizawa continued.
"Welcome to your first lesson in the Unforeseen Simulation Joint or the 'U.S.J' facility." Thirteen said.
So in the end, it is USJ after all. The class thought as they sweat-dropped collectively.
"Always remember this, students, like the Heroes before us, our powers are not meant to bring harm to others, but to help and save them," Thirteen advised, "I hope that you leave here today having grasped the truth about your identities as Heroes and the way that you should use your quirks. You're meant to use them to help the people around you who need you."
The students all stared and nodded as they were ready for their first big training course. Thinking about the implied risks of their quirks, they began to wonder about the different ways they should use their quirks to help save those in need.
"Hey what's that over there?" Mezo asked as he observed a portal of black coloration appear on the far side of the training facility, directly across the students and the platform they are located.
Satoshi looked on with horror as he recognized the portal. Being the only person who's seen this before, he quickly got the attention of his classmates.
"Something bad is going to happen, everyone needs to leave right now." Satoshi panicked as the class shifted their gaze towards him.
"Mr. Aizawa, that's the portal that I saw, it's them," Satoshi whispered as he walked towards Aizawa.
Aizawa gazed at Satoshi sternly before he turned his attention to look at the numerous villains that are emerging from the portal, they all inched forward to get a better view of the portal, as well as the numerous bodies entering the facility through them.
On the other side of the facility, Shigaraki and a hulking black figure emerged from the portal, he took a glance around and tried to locate their prime target.
So he's not here? That's not good at all... for the sake of those students. Shigaraki thought coldly.
"Thirteen, protect the students and try to get help from the school, I will do my best to distract them," Aizawa said as he leaped off the platform.
"Wait, Mr. Aizawa!" Izuku hollered as he and Satoshi prepared to follow him.
"Stop it, both of you!" Serena yelled as she tried pulling them back, "what in the world do you two think you're doing?"
"But he needs our help. There are too many of them." Satoshi responded.
"Don't be idiots," Ochaco chimed in, "we need to stay together."
"The girls are right," Thirteen added, "Aizawa is trying to keep all of you safe, how do you think he will feel if he knows you are in danger of being hurt?"
Satoshi and Izuku looked down and at each other with frustrated expressions, the students all did as they observed the fight between Aizawa and the villains.
"Our only way to help him is to be safe to give him a clear mind," Thirteen advised, "that means being safe and sound so he won't worry about us."
The students stole one last glance at their homeroom teacher before hurrying toward the exit, however, a black mist blocked their advance.
"Going somewhere, are we?" The shrouded figure taunted.
"What do you want villain?" Thirteen questioned.
"You are in no position to ask any questions, hero scum," The misty villain taunted, "I will, however, indulge you all with some information, after all, you're all going to die today."
"Not if I have anything to say about it," Thirteen responded.
"Oh, do hush, will you? You're messing up my grand speech. We are hailing you today as the League of Villains," Kurogiri explained, "Sorry about this, we have decided to invite ourselves to your facility."
"You," Satoshi yelled as he walked forward, confronting the villain, "this was your doing, wasn't it? You and that pale freak distracted us back at the school to find out where we were going to be, so you're target is us, is that right?"
"Ah, it's the little brat from earlier," Kurogiri smirked, "you are sorely mistaken, we aren't targeting you students, but unfortunately, our target is currently MIA. So instead, we have another score to settle."
Their target? MIA? So their target is not here? Could he mean All Might? Izuku thought as he glared at the villain, hoping to be wrong.
"Another score to settle?" Satoshi asked.
"From earlier, you know. Your attacks kinda hurt, I should kill you for that."
"You can try, you damn villain." Satoshi hollered angrily as he created two blue energy orbs quickly and hurled them towards Kurogiri.
The attack almost reached Kurogiri before a portal opened up, swallowing the attack. Kurogiri created another portal behind Satoshi and the orb flew out of it, Satoshi blocked the attack and glared at Kurogiri. He ran towards the misty villain while charging his fist. but his attacks were all evaded by the misty villain, albeit barely.
Satoshi stopped for just a brief moment when Eijiro and Katsuki charged toward Kurogiri and they both unleashed their attacks. The duo caught him in a moment of intense concentration and managed to push him back.
"That was too close," Kurogiri said the three of them backed off. Satoshi, Katsuki, and Eijiro all took a mental note of this revelation before jumping back towards their group.
"Stupid villain, you aren't as tough as you look." Katsuki insulted.
"Did you think you could kill All Might if you can't even beat the three of us?!" Eijiro taunted.
"Thanks for the backup you two," Satoshi said as they glared at the villain.
"Just stay out of my way you damn extra," Katsuki responded coldly while Eijiro gave Satoshi a thumbs up.
Satoshi sighed a breath of relief before turning his attention to Kurogiri.
"Students get back now." Thirteen instructed firmly, but the 3 students didn't move a bit.
"Hmm, you know, we came for a reason, we planned this for weeks and weeks." Kurogiri deadpanned, "to kill All Might, the 'Symbol of Peace' that you all hold dear."
Kurogiri glared at the students, as he began to get angry, "but now... the damned No.1 hero is absent. All this effort and he didn't even bother to show his face. So now we have decided that we will kill you all as compensation for this... disappointment." Kurogiri said.
The students began to form different expressions, some wore more frightening looks while others grit their teeth in anger.
"Oh, and don't bother calling for help with your phones or your quirks, we have blocked all the signals going in and out of this facility. You guys are on your own, and honestly, I am starting to get bored. So without further ado, let the show begin." Kurogiri informed as his mists engulfed the students, separating them and thrusting them into the various locations in the facility.
Satoshi removed his hands from in front of his face and found himself in a completely different location than he was before. He was standing alone close to the Landslide Zone. He looked around and saw that he was closer to the center of the facility.
He looked around and sensed many life forms around him, it seemed they were all eager to confront and kill him. It was apparent to him that he was surrounded and had to fight his way out.
Looks like I'll have to get through them first huh. He thought.
Alright, this seems like a good place to stop the chapter.
As you all probably can tell, I made some changes to the storyline to fit with my version of the story, it goes without saying that it would be criminal to regurgitate and copy everything that is done by the manga/anime. It is for this reason that I have decided to make changes and I stand by my decision. I hope you all come to enjoy it and look forward to what I have in store for you all.
Chapter 4: USJ Incident. Taking action!
To be continued…
