At the station Regulus went with Adaline to the boats, and were in the same one because they did not know anyone else around. Sticking together in the coat closet waiting to be let in to the ceremony and carefully watching the hat. With Regulus called forward Adaline saw that a boy who looked similar to him all but stood up at the Gryffindor table, and waited to see where he would be sorted. Regulus was relieved to be made a Slytherin, even if the other was not.
Two more names were called before Adaline Greyback. She stepped forward and there was a lot of muttering of "Greyback? Like Fenrir Greyback?" There were many suspicious eyes as the hat was placed on her head. After a few minutes that seemed like an eternity the hat shouted, "Hufflepuff!" And she laid the hat down on the chair before going to the table that was cheering. It wasn't as loud for her as for as the others, but Adaline accepted it.
The rest of the sorting ended and the feast began in a blur as Adaline focused on her plate, not wanting to face the people around her. Suddenly a voice spoke next to her, "Hello." It was a boy who was a few years older than her, "I'm Ted Tonks." He extended a hand and she shook it.
"Adaine Greyback." She answered. Tonks smiled at her and started to talk to her about a few different subjects. Adaline decided this might not be so bad after all.
