"You punk...I'm gonna tell the chief about you!" Tuff said, practically running out of the building.
"...Yikes, what a sore loser." Lilith remarked. "Still, who's their chief?" she asked.
"Heck if we know, but if they've got sorry members like that, I doubt they're anything to worry about." Felix said. "Still, it's been a while, I should be getting you home. You wouldn't want to miss your first day of your "exciting new school", huh?" He then asked with a grin.
"Yeah...I'm gonna be bored out of my mind." Lilith remarked.
"Well, if it makes you feel any better, I could help you should you run into trouble." Yato offered.
"Oh, word, you go there?" Lilith asked, Yato nodding. "...What bad thing did you do to get in there, you seem so...happy?" she asked, narrowing her eyes.
"Er...Nothing particularly? My parents submitted an application and I got accepted, I suppose that'd be how?" Yato answered, confused.
"Suspicious..." Lilith commented, before shrugging. "Well, whatever." She said, heading for the door. "Let's go, green bean." Lilith told Felix, who facepalmed.
"Never. Call me that again." He said while walking with her.
"Ha." Lilith said. "So, anything I missed in that fight?" She asked, as Felix started to explain various other mechanics of the game on the entire walk home...
"...And that just about sums it up." Felix said.
"Yikes, man." Lilith commented, having tried to put it all down on her phone. "Guess I'll have to start looking at all that tomorrow."
"Please don't try to do that in class." Felix said, deadpanned.
"No promises. Well, see ya tomorrow, Felix." Lilith said, opening the door and walking in, as Felix shrugged and started to walk off towards his own home.
"I...really hope she doesn't do something stupid at that private school." Felix admitted, before looking around. "Although, weird...Almost feels like I'm being watched...Well, whatever." he said, shrugging.
The next day, as Lilith walked into her classroom door, she noticed just about everyone in the room look over at her at once.
...You can't be serious. Also, what is with the uniform? I feel like I'm at a funeral, not a school...At least they had options for pants instead of those short skirts. She thought to herself, before going over to one of the desks, as the person sitting next to it immediately changed seats, as Lilith sat down and proceeded to hit her head on the desk. This is gonna be a long day, isn't it..? She thought, before looking around to notice the teacher walk in and start calling role.
"Aria Ein." The teacher said, looking around. "Of course, not here as usual..." They said, marking their list. "Ah, our new student, Lilith Saira." The teacher said.
"Here..." Lilith said.
"Excellent, that's already a great first step. Now, with everyone called and accounted for, mostly, let's start class." The teacher said, going into their lecture.
After plenty of classes and hours had passed...Lilith was asleep at her desk, only to feel herself getting poked.
"AH! Who the f-?!" Lilith started, slamming her desk as she got up, as Yato flinched in shock. "Oh, uh...It's you. Sorry, I'm not used to people bothering me when I'm asleep in school." She commented.
"Er...Sorry. I just figured you'd want to go home with classes over instead of sleep your afternoon away on a desk." Yato said. "More importantly, Felix asked me to give you this." he said, dropping what appeared to be a light green glove with a crystal in the center. "Your own Neo-Fight System. You'll probably have to set up your account and information yourself, but...you'll be able to have a true vanguard fight with it." He told her.
"Whoa, cool!" Lilith said, picking it up and looking at it with intrigue. "So this thing just like, makes the units go out like "Pew Pew"?" She asked, as Yato gave a bit of a nervous laugh.
"Well, yes, something like that, I would imagine." He answered, while Lilith was putting in her information. "Still, you seem quite cheery today. How were your classes?"
"Sucked. Boring, didn't have anyone cool to talk you, and on that note, screw you for being a grade ahead of me, and everyone avoided me like the plague." Lilith said.
"I'm...sorry for being a year older than you?" Yato asked, confused.
"Meh, just hang out with me at lunch and after school and you'll be forgiven." Lilith commented, before the door opened again, as a rather tall blonde boy with a mid-back length ponytail and a black streak on the side of their hair walked in. "Uh, can I help you?" She asked, before he walked up to her and looked down at her.
"So...You're the infamous troublemaker from out of town." The boy commented.
"Yes, and you're a douche who's too close in my face, what's your point?" Lilith asked, as Yato flinched.
"I see that silver tongue of yours is almost as annoying as a certain other problem in this school, the Red Gang." The boy commented. "I'll let that slide, and tell you who I am. My name is Maurus. The head of the student affairs, and more importantly..." He said, slamming a deck on Lilith's desk rather violently. "Someone who keeps students in line, even troublemakers like yourself." He told her, as Lilith seemed to sweat a bit at the sight.
All he did was put his deck down, why's he already getting to me..?! Lilith thought, as Maurus sighed, and put his deck back.
"Consider this a warning. If you try to spark trouble in this school...I will be the one to deal with it. As for you, Apollo." Maurus said, Yato looking over. "Perhaps you should consider surrounding yourself with a less troublesome crowd." He told him with narrowed eyes, before walking out of the room.
"Well...I suppose that saves the trouble of explaining him." Yato said.
"Still, that jerk..! Someone really oughta-!" Lilith said while getting up, as Yato immediately grabbed her arm.
"I wouldn't advise it...In the 10 years Maurus has played Vanguard, he's never once been beaten." Yato warned her.
"10 years, are you nuts..?" Lilith asked, shocked. "There's no way that's possible! What about you, you're a fighter like Felix, aren't you? Haven't you beaten him before?!" She asked.
"I...never fought him." Yato admitted. "I'm not really the type of person to try and provoke others, and Felix doesn't go to this school, so he's never even met the guy, except for what I've mentioned about him..." he told her.
"Well, whatever...I'm going home. I've gotta work on my deck, because god knows I'm gonna want to stick it to that guy." Lilith said, picking up her bag and walking out.
"Well, uh...good luck." Yato said as she exited.
As Lilith got out of the school gates, she looked around to see a large amount of punkish kids seemingly waiting, before all surrounding her. "Oh, great, are we really doing this?" She asked, swinging her bag onto her shoulder. "Because I'm really not in the mood."
"Can it. The boss knows what you did to Tuff, and she wants to see you in person." One of them said, as Lilith let out a rather loud sigh.
"...Alright. Fine, take me to her." Lilith said.
"Smart choice, this way." Another one said, as they all started to walk around her and lead her towards an alleyway a few blocks down, before a girl with messy red hair with yellow streaks, wearing a black jacket over the same school uniform as Lilith was clearly waiting for her, as the other punks were clearly blocking out the exit.
"So, you're the girl who beat one of my idiots, huh?" The girl asked, walking up to her, and getting rather close to her.
"Yeah, he had it coming, what of it?" Lilith responded.
"Ha! You aren't cowering or stuttering, I already like you. However...Wouldn't do for the chief of the Red gang to let you walk away after hitting one of our own." She said, holding her hand out, which had a red Neo-fight system on. "So c'mon! Show me what you've got, and I'll get back at ya!" The girl declared.
"If that's how we're settling this, then fine, I've got no complaints." Lilith said, dropping her bag and putting her own Neo-fight glove on, as her deck showed up in front of her. "Whoa! Uh, what..?" She asked.
"Oh, wow, you must be new to this. You can pre-set a ride deck and starting vanguard with the system, but since you didn't...You gotta pick them manually." The girl remarked.
"Uh...right...I knew that!" Lilith lied, and tapped her cards, before one appeared face down in front of her with a bit of a green glow. "I'll take the first move!" She said.
"Ooh, getting the ball rolling? I like that." The girl said, as a card appeared in front of her as well with a red glow.
"So, what's your name?" Lilith asked. "Mine's Lilith." She introduced.
"Yeah, guess it'd be awkward not to know our names. Name's Aria! Now stand up, the, vanguard!" She called out, as her card flipped over, shattered, and came out as a floating dark dragon. "Dark Bullet Dragon, Gunscythe!"
Wait, Aria..? The one from school that didn't show up to class? Lilith wondered. More importantly...That clan's called Tachikaze, isn't it? She thought, as an information screen showed up when she poked at her Neo-Fight System. ...I'm not sure what to do, I haven't exactly faced anything but that one guy so far. She thought, before shaking her head. "Just gotta go for it! Stand up, Vanguard!" She called out, as her own card flipped over, as the pixie dragon appeared, letting out a cute growl. "Youth Wanderer, Pixie Dragon!"
"Neo Nectar...But I've never seen something like that before." Aria commented, before grinning. "This is gonna get interesting, I can feel it!"
