A/N: Callen finds out about Deeks confronting Arkady.

"Deeks, Arkady told me you threatened to shoot him the other day," Callen said upon walking into the bullpen.

"I wouldn't exactly say 'threatened'," Deeks hedged, not looking at Kensi who as no doubt rolling her eyes at him from across the room. "It was more of a warning."

"So, you actually pulled a gun on him? Why were you even talking to Arkady?"

"Ok, for the record, I did not have any weapons."

"Because I made him leave them at home," Kensi inserted helpfully and Deeks glared at her.

"I wouldn't have shot him even if I did have a gun," Deeks insisted, then added, "Well, at the very least I wouldn't have killed him." Closing his eyes for a second, Callen pinched the bridge of his nose and said,

"Alright, I'm gonna need you to start from the beginning. What did Arkady do that made you wake him up at the crack of dawn, barge into his house, threaten him with bodily harm?" Kensi made an outraged noise and came stand beside Deeks.

"First of all, it was after 11 and secondly, Arkady invited us in," she objected.

"And if you must know, Arkady is dating my mother," Deeks added with an afflicted sigh.

"Wait, Roberta and Arkady…?" Callen trailed off, quickly switching from anger and confusion to delight.

"Are having zoom dates and sharing bottles of vodka," Kensi confirmed and if possible, Callen grin grew even wider.

"Oh, this is some much better than I could have ever imagined." Deeks gave Callen an incredulous look.

"How is my mom dating a Russian criminal a good thing? He's a drunk and in case I didn't emphasize it enough before, a criminal. And my mom is a delightful woman, with admittedly bad taste in men, who's still mentally living in the 70's. There's no way that this ends well."

"Actually, I was thinking that they're kind of perfect for each other," Callen disagreed. "I never considered it before, but they have a lot in common." Deeks started to object, but Callen raised a finger and started ticking off points. "They both love talking, are the most dramatic people I've ever met, and have zero concept of national security."

"You know, he has a point," Kensi said, jumping back in surprise when Deeks rounded on her suddenly.

"No, no he does not. My mom does not have anything in common with Arkady Kolcheck." Callen ignored his severe look and pointed finger, pulling out his phone.

"Hm, I wonder if I can get an invite to one of their zoom dates."

"Oh my god," Deeks groaned, flopping his head on his desk. Kensi patted his shoulder soothingly.

"I bet now you wish she hadn't dumped Guy, huh?"
